Abstract

The effects of religion and culture to the people’s life in Indonesia certainly become inevitability. Keraton, as the residence of the king and the family has philosophical concepts and meanings on each element. Keraton Surakarta in physically and principle adheres to the philosophy of the Javanese people’s life as a media of Islamic development as well as the Javanese culture. This study aims to find out the influence of Islamic values and Javanese culture on the architecture of Keraton Surakarta, especially on the philosophical meaning. The research paradigm used in this study is the Inter-subjective Paradigm. The method applied is Combined Strategies, between Historical Research and Qualitative Research. The data collection was obtained through the literary study, observations, and interview of Keraton Royal Family and The Servants. Research conclusions came from verifying data with interpretation and historiography on the research object. The result of this study is the architectural significance of Keraton Surakarta applying islamic values combined with Java 'cultural philosophy especially to the building orientation and layout sequences. Abstract

Nowadays, E-government plays a very crucial role in the country. E-government is expected to have an impact in changing work culture to be more efficient so that it is free from non-transparency and behaviour of corruption, collusion, and nepotism. One application that is used in the scope of E-government is called E-Performance. E-Performance is implemented with the aim to enhance civil servants’ performance and to accommodate the reward and punishment system. The implementation of E-Performance in Indonesia has become a phenomenon. It can be seen from the amount of organization that has started implementing the application. Previous research conducted on E-Performance emphasized on the technical and matters relating to users and the resulting impact. The impact and benefits felt by users and organizations in the implementation of an application must be aligned with the initial objectives made by the policy makers. The results of the study are a proven model. Furthermore, it revealed some new facts related to the alignment of the objectives of E-Performance implementation with the benefits perceived by the users and also the empirical impact on government organizations. The results of this study can be used to help the government in planning, implementing, and improving the implementation of E-Performance.

Abstract

he thermal power plant unit in Java is PLTGU Z with 3 blocks consisting of 9 gas turbines, and 3 steam turbines with a total installed capacity of 1578.78 MW. One of the problems faced is a high component failure rate, decreased system reliability, and an impact on rising maintenance costs. The method to be implemented in order to maintain the achievement of power plant performance and reliability of generating units is to optimize equipment reliability. Periodic component replacement is one way to maintain the reliability of the unit, where current conditions do not yet exist as a standard that is specifically used as a basis for the component replacement activities. For this reason, optimization of component replacement is required by considering the value of reliability, equipment downtime, frequency of replacement time, and costs required. It is intended that the reliability of the equipment is achieved at the optimum cost. The first stage is to identify the reliability value based on the failure data using Weibull ++ 6 software, then adjusted to the system reliability target in accordance with company standards. The second stage performs calculations to determine the minimum time of downtime and minimum preventive maintenance costs in a period of time. The third stage is determining the optimization of equipment reliability and the consequence of the required cost increase according to the system reliability target. After optimizing the reliability of the system with a target value of R(G) = 0.7 the optimization results obtained with the longest preventive maintenance intervals on gas nozzle equipment every 8000 hours, and the shortest maintenance time intervals are found on the fuel gas system equipment that is 40 hours.

Abstract

A dehydration unit using triethylene glycol absorption is a common process in natural gas processing. In its regeneration section, the regenerated lean glycol needs to be cooled before entering the glycol absorber, while the rich glycol is to be preheated before entering the regenerator. This is a good candidate for heat exchanger network (HEN) optimization. In this work, the HEN was revisited using pinch analysis (PA) and mathematical programming (MP) using superstructure. The optimized networks were evaluated using simplified total annual cost (TAC). The PA method using small Tmin (minimum temperature approach) led to the configuration of three exchangers, a heater and a cooler, with minimized utilities. At larger Tmin, the configuration became into two exchangers, two heaters, and a cooler. The minimum calculated TAC is $60,351/year at Tmin = 12.5oC. Furthermore, it was revealed that one heater and one exchanger were two small. Therefore, they were omitted, and the heat load were redistributed to the network. The calculated TAC became $59,224/year. The superstructure approach resulted in two exchangers, a heater, and a cooler; with a calculated minimum TAC of $57,597/year. The two approaches have resulted in very similar minimized TAC.

Abstract

XYZ Mart is a convenience store in Tulungagung regency. Founded in 2012, this store is designed to serve the daily needs of surrounding residents. In addition, this store also caters for the needs of families visiting patients at the hospital in front of XYZ Mart. Along with the store growth, there are more and more customers, and so the more demand. To handle the increasing demand, the store has to increase its inventory of goods. Problems arise when the number of goods keep increasing while the store inventory space does not. Therefore, in order to avoid overstocking or understocking, a research and planning are conducted to determine the optimal number of an order. The method used for inventory optimization is Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to calculate the most optimal number of goods ordered. To anticipate the uncertainty of demand, Safety Stock (SS) is also used. To determine the average demand per year based on historical data, as a basis for EOQ and SS calculations, a Monte Carlo simulation is used. The expected outcome of this research is to provide recommendations of when and how much goods must be ordered so that the store can optimally use its limited space of inventory.

Abstract

Drilling; the main activity in upstream oil and gas industry; is important to increase oil and gas production to supply national energy demand. PT Pertamina EP is one of oil and gas companies involved in drilling activity. As drilling schedule and number is dynamic and changing continuously, there are uncertainties in demand, excess in one warehouse and shortage in another. Consequently, double costs arise in the activity of Inter-unit Assistance related to drilling materials, with the average cost in the last 5 years reaches IDR 46,261,256,305. This research aims to design distribution network configuration of drilling materials to reduce double costs in transportation, including its cost saving estimation. The research has seven stages, i.e. (1) defining distribution network design; (2) grouping; (30 mapping warehouse locations; (4) evaluating existing warehouses; (5) selecting location of distribution center; (6) cost saving; and (7) analysis. To select distribution center location, it uses method of center of gravity. The research concludes that defining distribution strategy through distribution center is able to reduce double costs. There are 4 (four) selected of distribution center locations in Kota Baru District, Muara Enim Regency, Indramayu Regency, and Kutai Timur Regency. The research estimates that this distribution network configuration design is able to save 27.77% or IDR 26,613.231,154 in transportation cost.

Abstract

Exam Timetabling Problem (ETP) is a problem that occurs at the university. Solution to the ETP problem involves computational search methods to get results. In the process, if done manually it will require lot of time to achieve the optimal solution. ETP is basically allocating a schedule into room at particular time. Several previous researchers developed a hyper-heuristic method to obtain solutions that are expected to provide result that are close to optimal. In this study, ITC 2007 dataset will be used to find generic solutions that are near optimal. Simple Random (SR) was chosen as strategy to choose Low Level Heuristic (LLH) and Step Counting Hill Climbing (SCHC) was chosen as move-acceptance strategy for ETP. The results obtained show that one pair of algorithms proposed in this study is better than the literature while other algorithms also provide significant results.

Abstract

Aquaculture is a potential sector to be developed by the people of Indonesia considering that Indonesia's territory is dominated by the sea. Based on data released by the Directorate General of Aquaculture in 2015, the level of fish consumption projected increase up to 54.49 kg/capita/year. One important factor influencing the success of aquaculture is water quality. Some physical parameters to describe water quality include temperature, degree of acidity, dissolved oxygen and turbidity. The case of the death of thousands of fish in Cirebon due to hot temperatures reaching 36 degrees Celsius in November 2015 is one proof that monitoring and control of pond water quality has not been done properly. It will cause huge losses for fisheries. With research and development methods researcher design a tool called SENDAL IKAN. This tool has 7 sensors that can control water quality in fish ponds in real time from phone and can activate automatic responses directly and through applications on mobile phones if there is an indication that the water quality is outside normal limits. That way fish farmers will be easier to control and will not be too late to handle problems related to fish pond water quality.
