Abstract

The  research  objective  is  to  describe  contextual-based  math  learning management,  which  includes  planning,  implementation  and  evaluation  as  well  as describe  the  constraints  of  experienced  math  teachers  in  the  implementation  of contextual-based mathematics  learning at SMK Negeri 3 Klaten. The research method used  is  descriptive  qualitative  research,  research  data  on  the  implementation  of contextual learning was collected using interviews, observation and documentation. It is concluded in conclusion: (1) Planning learning early in the learning of mathematics held by preparing syllabi and lesson plans, (2) implementation of contextual learning mathematics in SMK Negeri 3 Klaten is not optimal, (3) Ratings are not only assess the  final  outcome  but  also  to  assess  the  process.  Implementation  of  learning mathematics is not optimal constrained by: (1) Teachers do not fully understand and master the contextual learning, (2) Teachers difficulties when learning material linked with the life situation that is already known by the student, (3) Teachers still tend to use the lecture method, although teachers have learned a variety of learning methods.Kata Kunci: contextual, learning, management

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in learning achievement are influenced by the use of mathematics permainan pasaran learning models with conventional learning models in the teaching and learning of Mathematics . The study population was all students of class III consists of three classes . Sample of two classes, namely class IIIB with a number of students as class 36 and class IIIA experiment with 37 students as the number of control class . Random sampling technique with a group ( cluster random sampling ) . Methods of data collection with the test methods and documentation . Analyzes were performed with the prerequisit normality Liliefors  and homogeneity Bartlet . Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance ( Anacova ) with initial ability as a control variable . Test results with α = 5 % showed a significant difference in improvement in mathematics learning achievement are influenced by the use of  permainan pasaran learning models. Math learning achievement using the permainan pasaran learning  model of learning the game better than learning mathematics achievement using conventional learning models on material social arithmatic. Abstract

Students experience in learning mathematics, they stated that the completion of word problems is more difficult than non-story. This happens because they are required to be able to understand , plan for completion and make a solution of the problem. Completion of word problems requires mathematical communication skills of each student .Therefore , teachers must be able to stimulate the students to improve communication skills by planning and implementing mathematical learning according to their condition. One type of cooperative learning is the CIRC , which emphasizes the ability to read  or understand the problems. This research is a quantitative study using experimental methods . The variable in this study is a mathematical communication skills as independent variables and mathematical learning model with the CIRC as the dependent variable . The data were obtained by using the test . The data were processed with one sample t-test and test Normalized Gain . The results showed that the average mathematical communication skills achieved by students is 76.71 . This value exceeds the specified KKM (KKM = 70) so as to achieve mastery learning. The results of test calculations mathematical communication skills improvement based on pre-test and post- test was 35.12 % , which means an increased interpretation capabilities including mathematical communication in the medium category . Based on the results obtained , it is known that the mathematical learning by using cooperative learning model CIRC can improve students mathematical communication skills .   Kata Kunci: Cooperative Learning, CIRC, mathematical communication skills

Abstract

The ability of students to apply the concepts of statistics in problem solving is low. It is not only caused by factors lecturers but also socio-economic, environmental, family, campus environment, and so on. These factors need to be assessed so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. Issues that will be examined are: 1) Whatis the factor that can affect difficulty of learning statistics 1 in the fourth semester students of mathematics education courses and science teacher education faculty Pekalongan University Academic Year 2012/2013? 2) How do these factors influence the achievement motivation of fourth semester students of mathematics education courses and science teacher education faculty Pekalongan University Academic Year 2012/2013? The study population was all students of fourth semester mathematics education courses. The sampling technique used is proportional sampling technique and simple random sampling. Data analysis techniques used in this study is a factor and multiple regression analysis (multiple regression). The results showed that the factors that affect difficulty learning statistics 1 are internal factors and external factors. Internal factors include the factors physical / health and psychological factors. Abstract

The purposes of the research were to increase the students’ activities of learning mathematic and to improve students’ learning achievements by using TPS method. The research was a collaborative achievement research between the mathematic teacher, headmaster and the writer. The eighth grade students of SMP N 2 Wiradesa were the subject of the research. This research was a class action research. The results showed that TPS method could improve the students’ activities and achievements significantly. The students’ activities rose 34,15% to 75,61%  and students’ achievements rose from 36,59 % to 80,49%. Kata Kunci: activity, TPS, achievement

Abstract

The purpose of this action research  is to improve mathematics teaching fourth grade students on multiplication operation on numbers, especially in improving the ability of understanding the concept of students and increase student activity in mathematics learning activities. This study was conducted in three phases, namely the pre cycle, the first cycle and second cycle. From the results of the pre-cycle observation data showed that the average results of the achievement test scores of understanding the concept of the ability of each individual student is 60.9 with a completion percentage of the value of 52.63 %. In the first cycle, an increase in the average achievement score is 72.4 with the percentage of completion value of 76.32 %. The results of the study have not been able to reach an optimal mastery of KKM was set at 60. After the improvement of learning through observation and reflection on the first cycle, obtained student learning outcomes in second cycle increased significantly to an average of comprehension achievement test scores to the concept reached 78.5 completion percentage value of 94.47 %. The conclusion that the improvement of learning by demonstration method through the medium of concrete objects can improve student learning outcomes in the ability of understanding mathematical concepts of multiplication operation on the material number.     Kata Kunci:Concept Comprehension of Ability, Demonstration  Method,  Media of Concrete Objects.
