Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of a small Entreprise of Sedap Melati in resolving some problems related to the issue of developing its productive process. Two theories used in this study, which are communication action theory of Habermas and empowerment of If’s theory. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) model. To collect the data, several methods are used including: observation, interviews, FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and documentation. Interpretative methods of data analysis is done by comparing, sifting through and combining various data residing in the same context, the audit trial (checking the raw data, analyzing them, and making conclusions process) as well as a review by related parties are seriously considered. The results show that Kube Sedap Melati has facing some serious constraints in its development, such as the issue of human resources, marketing, and infrastructure facilities. Some efforts have been undertaken by Kube Sedap Melati to overcome these problems. For the issue of transportation, for example, members of Kube Sedap Melati agrred to hire transports to deliver their products to consumers. They also aware of the needs of having a better promotions, including the use of internet and social media. Based on the analysis using communication actions’ theory of Habermas, there is a necessary for all members of Kube Sedap Melati to establish an open communication between members and administrators, either in a formal or informal ways. Mutual trust among the members is essential in order to overcome their human resource problem. In the context of empowerment, Kube Sedap Melati can actualize in three sides: fist, to create a conducive atmosphere to develop and maximize their potentials; second, to strengthen their competitiveness to other similar enterprises; and third, to protect a strong group and prevent unhealthy competition among them. Other potentials that need to be considered is to include religious practices and traditions of the community as an important source of income through providing some snacks and foods in every religious events or traditions conducted by members of community

Abstract

This article aims to enhance the quality of paper submitted to Jurnal Sosiologi Reflektif (JSR) by exploring some weaknesses of submitted articles to JSR within two last editions of using online journal system. Based on reasons used by the management of JSR in rejecting submitted articles at the first stage, which shows that around 23 percent of them are due to the lack of sociological perspective or framework, it is important to reconsidering the meaning of employing sociological perspective the the article. The ability to understand the basic characteristics of sociological analysis becomes the most fundamental requirements in producing a good sociological article. How we should formulate a good sociological question will determine the quality of a sociological paper. At this point, reconsidering and understanding how we should use a basic concept of sociological imagination in formulating a research question will help to focus an article on being strongly considered as sociological, in addition to the use of sociological theories. Besides, many articles are not built upon an adequate literature review. Some of them use literature reviews as making a summary of other people have done without further discussing their differences and contributions both theoretically and practically.

Abstract

In the last few years, Indonesia has a lot of arts and cultures that were considered by out of this country as theirs such as Reog Ponorogo also some folk songs had been reasonable and the society infuriated with. Especially for the people that were living in the rural area, as owner of the identity. This condition made the people got warmed up and it was coming almost from all of the circle of society. However they could be learning by that. The people today are getting the picture and open their eyes which they convinced that arts and cultures that they had are a very important asset. In music, Dangdut is a nation’s cultural assets, as identity and should be preserved by us. Unfortunately, it was as if the government does not care about. Mainly they are as policy maker in education. There is no Dangdut in curriculum. whereas it has been learnt by 70 countries in the world. It is slowly disliked by, even abused verbally, and abandoned. They made us to look down on and leaving the identities.

Abstract

The existence of Critical Theory which inspired by Marx, actually directed to the reversion of human’s value and dignity as a whole. Hence, it’s properly, more emancipatoric. As important note here, that in spite of Critical Theory existed from Marx’s spirit, but not meant to adopt and dogmatize from him, just taking his great and basic thought, i.e. setting human free from the shackle of his own creation. In fact, the central issue of the Sociology of Knowledge is that the effort in disclosing sociological sources in all form of knowledge, thought and awareness of whole human’s mental activities. This article aims to present Critical Theory of Frankfurt Sect and the Sociology of Knowledge in sociological perspective, in order to understand it’s scientific geneology and epistemology. And also observing the possibility of developing scientific sociology in the future. Keberadaan Teori Kritis yang terinspirasi Marx, sebenarnya diarahkan untuk pengembalian nilai manusia dan martabat secara keseluruhan. Oleh karena itu, lebih emansipatoris. Sebagai catatan penting, meskipun Teori Kritis ada dalam semangat Marx, tetapi tidak dimaksudkan untuk mengadopsi dan dogmatik darinya. Akan tetapi hanya mengambil dasar pemikiran, yaitu pengaturan manusia yang bebas dari belenggu ciptaan sendiri. Bahkan, isu sentral dalam Sosiologi Pengetahuan adalah upaya pengungkapan sumber sosiologis dalam semua bentuk pengetahuan, pemikiran dan kesadaran aktivitas mental seluruh manusia. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan Teori Kritis Frankfurt dan Sosiologi Pengetahuan dalam perspektif sosiologis, untuk memahami silsilah ilmiah dan epistemologi. Serta mengamati kemungkinan mengembangkan sosiologi ilmiah di masa depan.

Abstract

This paper discusses the most essential aspect in developing environment, which is the preservation of equilibrium between natural and social environments. This balance can be achieved through rising an awareness toward equilibrium principles and avoiding destructive attitudes. For Muslim, there is an excellent teaching from the Quran: “But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters”. The appreciation of Muslim attitudes upon this verse opens up the possibility to create awareness among them on the important of preserving environments. This implies that those who practices the teachings of Islam should have a more sense of ecological crisis than to those who do not enough understanding of the teachings of Islam.Dalam tulisan ini digambarkan bahwa hakikat pokok dalam pengembangan lingkungan hidup adalah terpeliharanya keseimbangan alam dan keseimbangan lingkungan hidup sosial.Ini bisa tercapai jika akal dan nafsu terkendali megindahkan azas keseimbangan dan terhindar sikap merusak (destruktif). Petunjuk lain bagi umat Islam adalah Surat al-Qashash ayat 77, “Dan carilah pada apa yang telah dianugerahkan Allah kepadamu (kebahagiaan) negeri akhirat dan janganlah kamu melupakan kebahagiaaanmu dari (kenikmatan) duniawi dan berbuat baiklah (kepada orang lain) sebagaimana Allah telah berbuat baik kepadamu dan janganlah kamu berbuat kerusakan di (muka) bumi. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang berbuat kerusakan”. Penghayatan sikap Muslim ini membuka kemungkinan bagi sikap hidup memelihara kelestarian lingkungan hidup. Selain itu, “Telah nampak kerusakan di darat dan laut disebabkan karena perbuatan tangan manusia, supaya Allah merasakan kepada mereka, agar mereka kembali (jalan yang benar)” (QS. Ar. Ruum, 41).Bahkan lebih lanjut, masyarakat yang memiliki sikap hidup Muslim ini harus lebih peka terhadap penanggulangan krisis ekologi dibandingkan dengan masyarakat yang kurang menghayati agama.Keywords: ecological crisis, globalization, and Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This paper would like to see how the women organizations have tried to build prosperity for women, especially women who live in the village. Interestingly , the women organization activists seek a way out of poverty by using their own ideas, perspectives and mindset, not guided by a uniform national policy. This means the ideas are built based on local emancipation where women live day-to- day. In the author’s view, one way for women to achieve prosperity is to give them a chance to work. For women , the purpose of giving the opportunity to work not only to increase revenue but also to take care of a variety of social vulnerability , especially poverty and domestic violence. Women’s access to work also means the opportunity to be involved in the socio - political relations more broadly. This means that women can contribute to the development of their neighbourhood because they no longer dwell in the domestic sphere, but have enough time to interact in the public sphere , especially through the involvement in an organization. By doing so, the involvement of women in the organization has a broad meaning, not just a mere social benefit. There is a transformation of social capital, in the form of involvement in the organization, into economic capital in the form of an opportunity to engage in economic activity. However, the effort to transform social capital into economic capital is not easy . There are still unfavourable views arguing that women capability is not commensurate with men which eventually limit women to access a livelihood. Therefore, it is necessary to find a perspective that places men and women in equal and fair positions, especially in acquiring , utilizing and developing assets and accesses to economic resources , social and political . It is time for the state to formulate public policies that put women as the main actors and not merely as objects or complementary policies. In sum , this paper believes that by involving in an organization, women will have a greater opportunity to be involved in economic activities, which in turn can lead women to welfare gates .

Abstract

In today’s digital age, one of the most significant shifts in the field of Islam in Indonesia is the increasing reliance of Muslims on social media when practicing and expressing their faith and religiosity. The expressions generally reflected in the consumer behavior and everyday lives of Indonesian Muslims, with their preference for Islamic banking, Islamic schools, Islamic fashion, Islamic medicines and most importantly, today Indonesian Muslims like to present these practices on their social media accounts. However, public expressions of piety have been apparent in the political life of Indonesian Muslims as Indonesia’s political landscape has undergone significant changes after the controversy surrounding Jakarta Gubernatorial Election. Although religion has often been ignored as an important political factor, but it can’t be denied that both are actually the biggest public parts of many people’s lives. Therefore, this paper argues that political contexts are critical aspects of modern formations of piety. Based on online observations combined with computational method, this paper tries to analyzes intriguing examples of how social media, the religious, and the everyday politics intersect, focusing on contemporary expressions of piety through political attitudes in an online sphere.

Abstract

This paper is a short version of the preliminary report for the sake of academic research under the supervision of Cornelis Lay. This paper is the political sociology studies to try the understanding how the dynamics of the relationship the orientation character of the political regime is a pattern or design scheme of social welfare policies that exists in Indonesia. The discussion paper sees on: what is the extention of practiclity of citizenship (citizenship) patterning with further understanding of the pattern relationship both the state and the citizen in the design of the existing social welfare.

Abstract

The establishment of a Village Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) as stipulated in Law No.6 / 2014 on Village, is an effort to increase economic growth along with equitable distribution of assets to the people in order to be able to cope with various economic problems in rural areas. However, since the BUMDes policy was established (in 2004), the existence of BUMDes has not been fully satisfactory, as only about 9.09% of villages realize BUMDes program, even from the number of presentations there are only 21.68% BUMDes considered profitable. Many factors influence the development and development of BUMDes program. One of the most important factors is the lack of social capital development in rural areas. This implicitly indicates the lack of participation of the largest and most important social capital that Indonesia has in the village Muslim community in the management of BUMDes. Yet this village Muslim community as an important asset to further create opportunities to improve rural economic welfare through the utilization and management of BUMDes in Indonesia. Therefore, the qualitative descriptive qualitative study aims to analyze the factors that influence the participation of the village Muslim community in the development and management of BUMDes in Indonesia, using the opinion of Korten which suggests that the success or failure of participation is grouped into two categories namely internal factors and factors externalTerbentuknya BUMDes sebagaimana tertuang dalam UU No.6/2014 belum sepenuhnya mampu menanggulangi berbagai permasalahan ekonomi di pedesaan, karena hanya sekitar 9,09% desa yang dinilai mampu 396  merealisasikan program BUMDes, bahkan dari jumlah prosentase tersebut hanya terdapat sekitar 21,68% BUMDes yang dinilai menguntungkan. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi ketidakberhasilan pembangunan program BUMDes. Satu faktor paling penting adalah kurangnya pengembangan modal sosial di pedesaan. Secara implisit ini menandakan rendahnya partisipasi modal sosial terbesar dan terpenting yang dipunyai Indonesia yaitu komunitas muslim desa. Untuk itu, kajian yang berproses deskriptif kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi komunitas muslim desa dalam usaha pengelolaan BUMDes di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan pendapat Korten yang mengemukakan bahwa kesuksesan atau kegagalan partisipasi dikelompokkan dalam dua kategori yakni faktor internal dan faktor eksternal.Keywords: Participation, Muslim Village Community, Village Owned Enterprise Management, Village Owned Enterprise.

Abstract

This paper employs an integrated-interconnected perspective to examine Sufi groups and theirroles in developing Islamic teachings and performing social functions. Known as communities primarily characterized by their esoteric religious interpretation and Teacher- Student structured relationship, Sufi groups can be approached through analyzing their religious doctrines as well as their social practice. Combining these two analytical approaches, this paper argues that the dynamics of Sufi groups rests up on three factors. Firstly, the development of Sufi doctrines into ritual practices serves toproduce and strengthen particular patterns of social solidarity among the followers. Secondly, the participation of Sufi groups in the life of plural societal relations may take form in a distinct social movement, particularly when they are involved in the so-calledpublic spiritual and morality enforcement.Thirdly, Sufi groups can be classified into three groups: pragmatic-inclusive, fundamentalistexclusive, orpragmatic-fundamentalist.
