Abstract

The article describes the strategy of environmental development as a tourist village area conducted in Sendangsari. Research background of the emergence of UU Desa and UU Keistimewaan DIY. That underlies various rural areas in developing the environment. In Sendangsari, the environmental management strategy is carried out as a form of tourism development. The data obtained through research conducted by qualitative descriptive method and data collection technique through observation, interview and documentation. The informants involved in the research process are the Village Head, the village management board ie LPMD, PKK, Karang Taruna and the Tourism Actors, the Head of the Sadar Wisata Group. It also involves the Office of Culture and Tourism of Bantul Regency as a government stakeholder. The result of the research shows that the strategy implemented by Sendangsari Village in the effort of environmental management as the implementation of UU Desa and UU Keistimewaan DIY are 1) Environmental mapping in the form of village potency; 2) Social empowerment to optimize tourism potential; 3) Utilization of environment as Tourism Village development area; 4) The carrying capacity of the government in the management of the Tourism Village.Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang strategi pengembangan lingkungan sebagai kawasan desa wisata yang dilakukan di Sendangsari. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi munculnya UU Desa dan UU Keistimewaan DIY sehingga mendasari berbagaikawasan perdesaan dalam mengembangkan lingkungan. Di Desa Sendangsari strategi pengelolaan lingkungan dilakukan sebagai bentuk pengembangan pariwisata. Data-data diperoleh melalui penelitian yang dilaksanakan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif serta teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan yang terlibat dalam proses penelitian adalah Kepala Desa, pengurus lembaga desa yakni LPMD, PKK, Karang Taruna dan Pelaku Pariwisata yakni Ketua Kelompok Sadar Wisata. Selain itu juga melibatkan Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Kabupaten Bantul sebagai stakeholder pemerintah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan strategi yang dilaksanakan Desa Sendangsari dalam upaya pengelolaan lingkungan sebagai implementasi UU Desa dan UU Keistimewaan DIY adalah 1) Pemetaan lingkungan berupa potensi desa; 2) Pemberdayaan sosial untuk optimalisasi potensi wisata; 3) Pemanfaatan lingkungan sebagai kawasan pengembangan Desa Wisata; 4) Daya dukung pemerintah dalam pengelolaan Desa Wisata.Keywords: Environment, Sendangsari, Tourism Village

Abstract

The Crusade taking place during two centuries (1095­1291 AD) was the beginning of large­scale confrontation between Islam and Western Christianity. Although the Crusades ended eight centuries ago, but it still lingers in the mind of Western Christians and some Muslims. The subsequent conflcts between both sides have been always linked to the Crusades. For example, colonialism and imprealism of Western to the East during the 18th, 19th, and 20th century is considered as a continuation of the Crusades. In addition, the war against terrorism that the United States campaigned for the post September 11, 2001 propagated as the 2nd Crusades. Similarly, the invasion of the United States and its allies against Iraq and Afghanistan is refering the arrogances of West against Islam. These facts indicate that a huge trauma caused by the Crusades still entrenched in the minds of most of the psycho­historical Western and Muslim. Therefore, to promote a harmonious relationship between the West and Islam, the perceptions and negative images of Islam in the eyes of the West and vice versa, should be neutralized. The history has proven that when peace and truce conducted during the period of the Crusades, both parties could work together in trade and economy. In the current global context, the cooperation must be expanded. Through good cooperation and mutual benefi, suspicion and prejudice to each other will eventually fade.

Abstract

The rapid changes in information technology raise questions about the relevance of sociological theories in explaining the new reality of cyber society. At least, there are two important questions that must be answered by sociologists:  first, what are the characteristics of cyber reality that become the new study area of sociology? Second, how should sociology been reconstructed to understand the new model of society in cyberspace? These questions will be explored through a meta-theory study. Meta-theory is intended to study the basic structre of sociological theory, especially in the form of reflective analysis of existing theories. One of itsmain concerns is determining the object of study in a particular discipline.Through meta-theory study, this research comes to two conclusions. First, virtual reality has different characters from real life. But, frequently, virtual reality is experienced by individuals like everyday life reality, or even more real than real reality. Through the characteristics of simulation, interaction, artificiality, immersion, telepresence, networked communication and anonymity, virtual reality is transformed into a part of everyday life that cannot be separated from human life. Second, facing this new reality, sociology must adjust its scientific construction. Reconstruction of sociology can be initiated by defining what are the objects of sociological studies regarding the issues of cyber society. Based on three paradigms of Ritzer, this study concludes that social fact, social definition and social behavior paradigms must be reinterpreted, especially in relation to the importance for sociological paradigms to include non-human aspects in its theoretical buildings.Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang demikian cepat memunculkan pertanyaan soal relevansi teori-teori sosiologi dalam menjelaskan realitas baru dunia cyber. Setidaknya, ada dua hal penting yang harus dijawab oleh sosiologi: pertama, bagaimana karakteristik realitas cyber yang menjadi wilayah kajian baru sosiologi? Kedua, bagaimana sosiologi harus direkonstruksi untuk dapat memahami model masyarakat baru di dunia cyber? Kedua pertanyaan tersebut akan ditelaah melalui kajian metateori. Metateori dimaksudkan untuk mengkaji struktur dasar teori sosiologi, terutama dalam bentuk analisis reflektif atas teori-teori yang sudah ada. Salah satu konsen utama kajian metateori adalah menentukan objek kajian yang dipelajari dalam satu disiplin ilmu tertentu. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa kesimpulan. Pertama, realitas virtual memiliki karakter yang berbeda dengan realitas nyata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hanya saja, tak jarang realitas virtual itu dialami oleh individu tak ubahnya seperti kenyataan hidup sehari-hari, atau bahkan lebih nyata dari kenyataan riil. Melalui karakter simmulation, interaction, artificiality, immersion, telepresence, networked communicationdan anonimity, realitas virtual menjelma menjadi bagian kehidupan sehari-hari yang tak dapat dipisahkan dari kehidupan manusia. Kedua, menghadapi realitas baru ini, sosiologi mau tidak mau harus menyesuaikan bangunan keilmuannya. Rekonstruksi sosiologi dapat dimulai dengan mendefinisikan apa yang sebenarnya menjadi objek kajian sosiologi masyarakat cyber. Berangkat dari tiga paradigma Ritzer, penelitian ini mengambil kesimpulan paradigma fakta sosial, definisi sosial dan perilaku sosial harus dimaknai ulang, terutama dalam kaitan dengan pentingnya paradigma sosiologi untuk menyertakan aspek non-human dalam bangunan teoritisnya.

Abstract

There are signifiant relationship between modernization andm religion in the modernization and globalization era. In the context of Indonesia, religion, the teachings and traditions, preserved as a fundamental basis of morality to inflence the flw of modernization. Indonesian society, in general, divided into two groups of “modernist” and “traditional”. This grouping occurs because, from a historical perspective, the existence of Islam in Indonesia is experiencing a collision with various forms of local syncretic and, also, with Western civilization, especially, in the period of colonialism, the Christian religion, as happened in the village of Tondano Java, in particular, and other areas in Indonesia, in general. The result of research shows that all the tradition in this Tondano Javanese village today is still carried out consistently by the citizens. Flow of modernization and globalization were not many signifiant impacts for the implementation of these various religious traditions.

Abstract

Changes in tourism that are currently developing from mass tourism to form a special interest tourism encourage one of the villages in Paliyan District, Pampang to become an Ecotourism village by carrying out the concepts of conservation and education. In this study will discuss how the response and community involvement in the development of the village of Papang to become an ecotourism village, as well as social impacts for the community that emerged after tourism activities developed in the village of Pampang Ecotourism, both positive and negative impacts. To be able to produce findings and an adequate description of the social impacts that occur in Pampang Ecotourism Village, this research uses a descriptive method with the aim of being able to provide a description of the phenomena of social change obtained through interviews with community leaders and village activists and observations. From this research, it can be seen that the development of tourism in Pampang has more positive impacts on the community compared to the negative impacts including the growing spirit of togetherness, strengthening community organizations, increasing public awareness of preserving and protecting the environment through tourism and Ecotourism villages to become pilot villages in environmental innovation and management.Perubahan pariwisata yang saat ini berkembang dari pariwisata massal ke bentuk pariwisata minat khusus, mendorong salah satu desa di Kecamatan Paliyan yaitu Pampang untuk menjadi desa Ekowisata dengan  mengusung konsep konservasi dan edukasi. Dalam penelitian ini membahas bagaimana respon dan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan Desa Papang untuk menjadi desa ekowisata, serta dampak sosial bagi masyarakat yang muncul pasca aktivitas pariwiata berkembang di Desa Ekowisata Pampang. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode deskriptif dengan tujuan untuk dapat memberikan gambaran fenomena-fenomena perubahan sosial yang diperoleh melalui wawancara tokoh masyarakat dan penggerak desa Ekowisata maupun observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perkembangan pariwisata di Pampang lebih banyak berdampak positif bagi masyarakat dibandingkan dampak negative, diantaraya tumbuhnya semangat kebersamaan, penguatan organisasi masyarakat, peningkatan wawasan masyarakat, kesadaran melestarikan dan menjaga lingkungan melalui pariwisata dan desa Ekowisata menjadi desa pecontohan dalam inovasi dan pengelolaan lingkungan.

Abstract

Among the weakness of human resources in Islam is rooted on the way Muslims perceived knowledge. Within the everyday life of Muslims, there are some branches of knowledge that are considered as less important. Furthermore, some conservative Muslims even see those less important knowledge as prohibited to be learnt based on Westerners domination of those knowledge and ignore the use of those knowledge for human beings. This model of perceiving knowledge has serious impact on individual as well as Muslim as the whole ummah in leading the development of knowledge in the world. This article tries to correct or at least to give a contribution in building opinion in order to provide more suitable perspective of Islam in perceiving knowledge. By employing Islam as a framework to portray the development of science in Islam is necessary in order to create awareness among Muslims on the necessity of acquiring and developing knowledge for the sake of better life for all human beings

Abstract

K-pop (Korean Pop) culture, is currently a trend among female students in Islamic boarding schools. K-pop who are born not from Islamic circles certainly have a culture that is different from the teachings of Islam which have been taught in Islamic boarding schools, which maintain and teach traditional Islam. The study aims to reveal about the impact of K-pop modernity for students lifestyles in MTs Ali Maksum Pondok Pesantren Krapyak, Yogyakarta and the impact of K-pop on character education in social science learning. This study used the qualitative descriptive method with phenomenological approach. The data collecting technique was through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis technique Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicate that Individual lifestyle can be observed by three dimensions which are activity, interest, and opinion. On activity, the majority of free time for K-popers students is used for things related to K-pop and spending on products related to K-pop. Whereas in the dimension of interest, K-popers students, love and prioritize things related to K-pop. In the opinion, K-popers students argue that K-pop has a positive and negative impact. The high consumption intensity of K-pop also has an impact on the reduced concentration of students during social studies learning, so character education in social studies learning is not well conveyed.Budaya K-pop (Korean Pop), saat ini menjadi tren di kalangan siswi di pesantren. K-pop yang lahir bukan dari kalangan agama Islam tentu memiliki budaya yang berbeda dengan ajaran Islam yang selama ini diajarkan di pesantren, yang menjaga serta mengajarkan ketradisionalan Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak modernitas yang dibawa oleh K-pop terhadap gaya hidup siswi MTs Ali Maksum Pondok Pesantren Krapyak Yogyakarta serta dampaknya terhadap pendidikan karakter pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis data model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gaya hidup individu dapat diukur melalui tiga dimensi yaitu aktivitas, minat, dan opini. Pada aktivitas, mayoritas waktu luang siswi K-popers digunakan untuk hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan K-pop dan pembelanjaan produk yang terkait dengan K-pop. Pada minat, siswi K-popers hanya menyukai dan memprioritaskan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan K-pop. Pada opini, siswi K-popers berpendapat bahawa K-pop memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Intensitas konsumsi yang tinggi terhadap K-pop juga berdampak pada berkurangnya konsentrasi siswi pada saat pembelajaran IPS, sehingga pendidikan karakter pada pembelajaran IPS tidak tersampaikan dengan baik

Abstract

Megono is one of the typical foods for the Batang and Pekalongan people, which is made from young jackfruit. Every tourist from outside the area, usually looking for a megono as a sign of having visited and take it as a gift. This study is the result of deepening data about the megono and its existence as a cultural identity for the Batang people in the midst of globalization. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with an open interview approach. Traders and consumers are the main informants for this study. This research employs Baudrillard concept of habitus. The results showed that every morning, the people of Batang seemed obliged to consume sego megono sambel. According to the results of data analysis, megono Batang has different characteristics compare to megono from other places, namely its distinctive aroma. As a traditional food, megono can still exist and become a cultural symbol in the midst of the many variations of modern food. For consumers, this food can deconstruct the social class created by capitalism. Megono does not belong to any classes. This means that megono can be a symbol of equality for society.Megono adalah salah satu makanan khas bagi masyarakat Batang dan Pekalongan yang terbuat dari bahan baku nangka muda. Setiap pengunjung dari luar daerah, biasanya mencari megono sebagai tanda telah berkunjung dan barang bawaaan. Kajian ini merupakan hasil dari pendalaman data tentang megono dan eksistensinya sebagai identitas kultural masyarakat Batang di tengah globalisasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualtitatif dengan pendekatan wawancara terbuka. Pedagang dan konsumen menjadi informan utama dalam menjelaskan kajian ini. Menurut Baudrillard, arena konsumsi pada globalisme adalah kehiduapan sehari-hari yang merupakan sistem interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setiap pagi, masyarakat Batang seolah wajib untuk mengkonsumsi sego megono sambel. Menurut hasil analisa data, megono Batang memiliki karakteristik daripada megono dari tempat lain yaitu aromanya yang khas. Sebagai makanan tradisional, megono tetap dapat hadir dan menjadi simbol kultural di tengah banyaknya variasi makanan modern. Bagi konsumen, makanan ini dapat mendekonstruksi kelas sosial yang diciptakan kapitalisme. Megono tidak mengenal kelas. Artinya megono adalah simbol kesetaraan bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

The magnitude of the risk due to a disaster depends on several factors, namely the hazard (natural hazard), vulnerability, and capacity. The earthquake that occurred in 2006 in Bantul District caused the death toll, damage to the building, and the victim who suffered severe injuries to become people with disability. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors causing earthquake victims to be people with disability. Questionnaires were distributed to 130 respondents, using simple random sampling technique. Based on the result of the research, the factors causing difable daksa are (1) threats: all difable daksa live in earthquake prone areas, (2) vulnerability: house building made from material that easily collapsed, (3) capacity: have knowledge and means of disaster mitigation, (4) community behavior during earthquake disaster: people do not know how to safely handle earthquake disaster.Besarnya risiko akibat suatu bencana tergantung pada beberapa faktor, yaitu ancaman (natural hazard), kerentanan (vulnerability)dan kapasitas/ kemampuan(capacity). Gempa bumi yang terjadi tahun 2006 di Kabupaten Bantul menyebabkan korban meninggal dunia, kerusakan bangunan dan korban yang mengalami luka parah sehingga menjadi difable daksa. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab korban bencana gempa bumi menjadi difable daksa. Kuesioner di sebar kepada 130 responden, dengan teknik simple random sampling. Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian faktor-faktor penyebab menjadi difable daksa adalah (1) ancaman: semua difable daksa tinggal pada daerah rawan bencana gempa bumi, (2) kerentanan: bangunan rumah terbuat dari material yang mudah roboh, (3) kapasitas/ kemampuan: tidak mempunyai pengetahuan dan sarana mitigasi bencana, (4) perilaku masyarakat ketika terjadi bencana gempa bumi: masyarakat tidak mengetahui bagaimana cara aman menghadapi bencana gempa bumi.Key Word: Earthquake, Difabel, Capability and Ri
