Abstract

This paper aims to identify the stereotyping of women role as depicted in Indonesian television commercials. A sample of 60 commercials featuring women in eight Indonesian local televisions was examined during the third and fourth week of July by using content code analysis. The findings indicates that the stereotyping of women role portrayed in Indonesian television commercials exist in some aspects. Women are depicted as users of products mostly household and personal care.They are mostly portrayed as nurturing mother as well as an ideal housewife. When depicted as professional career women, still they are occupied with domestic role as a good mother. Keywords: television commercials, role portrayals, women stereotypes

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe the aspect of sociocultural of English nobleman in the 18th century as seen on the film entitled “The Duchess” by Saul Dibb and the approach that is used is Sociological Approach. This study focuses on the cultural component in English nobleman's life in the 18th century as reflected in the film. The aspects of sociocultural in English nobleman's life in the 18th century are good. The development of culture grows fast and the concept of life in their life is changing, from traditional concept to modern concept. They hold firmly their principle as nobleman, as holding trust concept, education, and norm of the things in local of nobility of British is very strong. At 18th century, it is also showed that the position of countess is still being placed lower in any aspects of life. The concept of thinking of British nobleman at 18th century is highly developed and the education is heavily affected by French. Abstract

This study was conducted to improve students' speaking skill. Most of the students found it difficult to speak even though they mastered many vocabularies and they were able to write correctly. Their difficulty occured because they were afraid of making mistakes. They were too shy to speak. Besides, lecturer's teaching  method was one of many factors causing this problem. In this study, the researcher used Whole Brain Teaching (WBT) to teach speaking for the students from the first semester of class 02 Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta academic year 2013/ 2014. Whole Brain Teaching is one of alternative method  which is effective to manage the class. The procedures of this method conducted based on Brain Based Learning. Brain learns something in five ways: seeing, saying, listening, doing, and feeling. When the lecturer teaches the classroom rules using Whole Brain Teaching, students' brain work maximally.  They see the symbols, listen the rules, say those rules, and make movement. When the teachers teach optimistically and entertaining, the students will have joyful feeling for having fun during teaching and learning process. The method used in this research was classroom action research. This study consists of 2 cycles; each cycle consists of three meetings. The procedures of this research is planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data gathered by using observation, field note, audio recording, and students' listening score. The development of students' speaking skill can be seen from the average of pre-test and post test score. The average of pre test score was 6.6. It became 7.3 in post test 1 and in post test 2 it became 7.8. based on this research, it can be concluded that Whole Brain Teaching can develop students' speaking skill. Hence, Whole Brain Teaching can be one alternative method for the lecturer to teach speaking.   Keyword: Speaking skill, Whole Brain Teaching, Action Research

Abstract

The education of Teachers Profession (PPG) both during its position and pre-position is conducted to improve the quality and welfare of teachers. However, its implementation makes some problems; 1) problem with certification, 2) those graduation who cannot continue to PPG, 3) the unbalance of graduation and those accomodated to PPG, 4) the quality and distribution of LPTK, 5) the cooperation between LPTK and the local government, 6) the problem of mindset changing. Abstract

Studies on child crime are intended to examine the handling of the crime of theft by children in the perspective of UU No. 11, 2012, the barriers and the solutions. The method used in this study, is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques is using documents and literature studies. Criminal cases done by children, tried by District Court Judge Surakarta, are already appropriate with legal procedures, based on UU No.11 Year 2012 on Juvenile Justice and Criminal Code, which is heard by the judge children. Judges, prosecutors and lawyers do not wear a toga; heard by a single judge, except with certain considerations, the Chairman of the District Court may set an examination by the panel of judges; submitted a report before the trial opened community mentors ; trial was held behind closed doors ; defendant was sidelined parents , advisors legal and social counselors ; Witnesses may be heard in absentia. Judge attitude before dropping a decision to give an opportunity to the parents, guardians or foster parents to provide information useful for children. Decision is made in a hearing open to the public. In the trials, obstacles in dealing with such cases is not the presence of a parent, guardian, or foster parent in proceedings; they are no longer able to accept and educating the accused. The judges in the face of a parent or guardi guardians, parents' enemy is not present, then the judges, new inspection process against the accused without the presence of a parent, guardian, or foster parent accused.   Keywords : Crime, child crime, Juvelile justice

Abstract

To know about the properties mortgage if it has shown realization of the freedom principle of contract and how properties mortgage can realize the freedom of contract. The freedom of contract as an important principle for validity agreement, should uphold the moral value, and in the making of a contract there are no abuse of situation, because it can revoke a contract. To realize the freedom of contract, a contract should be based on goodwill of the parties, which began from pre-contract, execution of the contract, and post-contract.     Key Word : Freedom of contracts, standard contracts, properties contracts

Abstract

The research aims at determining the effect of the learning model and student learning styles. Learning model consists of : (1) Heuristic learning model and (2) Algorithmic learning model. Student learning styles consist of : (1) Learning Styles and Field Independence (2) Learning Styles Field dependence. Student population that is affordable Guidance Counseling (BK) semester IV by 74 people. The sample consisted of 20 students with learning styles field independence and 20 students with learning style field dependence. Data collection techniques using test techniques for data treatment outcome study after learning models. A survey technique used to obtain data about learning styles. This experimental study using 2 x 2 factorial analysis (ANOVA) . The results also show that : (1) The study of heuristic learning model higher than algorithmic learning model on student with learning styles of field independence (Fo = 5.20 > 4.17 ft). (2) The Study of the learning style of field independence of higher learning style of field dependence (Fo = 5.55 > 4.17 ft). (3) An interction between learning style model of learning and student learning outcomes ( Fo = 9.36 > 4.17 ft) on the development of individual subyects. Conclution accurate heuristic model used student learning with the learning styles field independence and algorithmic learning model is suitable for students with learning style field dependence. Abstract

Essentially, human being is as individual creature and as social creature therefore the life of human cannot quit of conflict. Conflict is enabled to be happened in family, school, society, company, and everywhere which is caused by human as individual creature who wants to keep up his or her own life. On the other hand human as social creature needs the personality of others which automatically are related to more than one person that has different character and personality. Abstract

This Research aims at: (1) finding out and analizing Factors Learning resources that have impact on the understanding of character education of  FKIP Unisri students. (2) finding out the Lecturers  competence through moral value delivery, giving experience which is concret and direct at student, learning Method of the Lecturers in inserting education of  character in course of   study. The subject of this research is  100 FKIP Unisri students in 2013/2014  this research  academic year Confirmatory Research and  Correlational Research. The   Independent Variable, consists   of: (1) Moral lesson of   Study; (2) Lecturer Competency; (3) Method of   while the Study. Dependent Variable is: Education of Character the results show that the Corrected Item-Total Correlation is bigger than r tabel (0,194) for all variable. Therefore the, item can be said Valid. The Result of Reliability indicates that the coefficient of (alpha r) calculate is bigger than the criterion variable which equals to 0,6 all variables are in a state of reliable. Based on  the  result of the equation of  doubled  linear regression, influence direction and significancy value,  hence,  the  result of the  t test are: (1) the  variable of moral lesson has significant on the Understanding of Characte Education r, (2) the Competency of Lecturer has positive effect but   not so significant on Understanding of Education  Character, (3) Method has significant  and positive on  Understanding Of Education   Character,  the Result of test simultaneous (Test F) shows the level of f value is = 25,836 with significancy of 0,000 < 0,05. Is than, concluded Lecturer Competency , Method of Study influence the Understanding Of Education of Character. The result indicates that Adjusted R Square equals to 0,429 meaning that the Understanding of Education of Character can be explained by material of study, competency of lecturer, and Method of Study equal to 42,92%, the rest is explained by other variable outside this research   Keyword: Learning Source,  Competency, Education of Character.

Abstract

The title of this study is EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ACADEMIC ADVISOR IN SERVE GUIDED STUDENT (Research on Study Program Counseling and Guidance  Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Slamet Riyadi University Surakarta, Academic Year 2012/2013), This study aims at determining the effectiveness of academic advisor functions in serving guided student.This research is descriptive qualitative. The data is collected by using a questionnaire, while the analysis process of the data is by using the percentage. Based on the research results and leverage the data, it can be seen that the average of lecture of Counseling and Guidance Faculty of Teachers Training and Education has not implemented the duties of academic advisor efficiency.  Most lectures (83, 33%) are considered by students to be ineffective in carrying out its function as Academic Advisor. However, there is one lecture that considered has implemented the duties of academic advisor efficiency.  Academic advisor activity that not been effective prevalent both in service to students before classes start, during and after the class held over.   Keywords: Function of Academic Advisor, Serving Students
