Abstract

The rapid growth of the tourism industry in Indonesia has prompted the government to actively engage in efforts to develop the tourism sector to stimulate economic growth. One of the developments in the industry is the construction of the Southern Cross Road in several cities or districts. For example, Blitar Regency is renowned for its beautiful beaches, one of which is Pasir Putih Beach. This study measures the relationship between visitor satisfaction and future Behavior or recommendations to other tourists regarding destination image. Data for this study were obtained through questionnaires to individuals who have visited Pasir Putih Beach in Blitar Regency, with 200 questionnaires distributed. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that visitor satisfaction has a positive impact on destination image. Moreover, visitor satisfaction positively influences future Behavior in recommending Pasir Putih Beach to other tourists. Additionally, future Behavior positively impacts destination image and contributes to the economic benefits of individuals directly involved in tourism activities. Thus, an increase in tourist arrivals not only increases local revenue through tourism levies and taxes, but also creates business opportunities for local communities, creating a positive multiplier effect in the local economy around tourism destinations.

Abstract

Museum Sandi as the only cryptology museum in Indonesia and Asia has an educational tourism function, but faces challenges, namely low interest and number of tourists so development is needed. The purpose of this study is to identify the typology of tourists and analyze tourist satisfaction with the Museum Sandi tourist attraction. This research uses exploratory quantitative research methods with data collection techniques, namely surveys on 386 tourists, data analysis using descriptive statistics and IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) methods. The results of this study are in the form of a typology of tourists who are dominated by groups of tourists with explorer types, namely tourists with a focus on finding unique tourism experiences and minimal travel planning. The satisfaction analysis using the IPA method produces attractions in quadrant A (top priority), namely the showing of documentary videos on the history of coding; quadrant B (maintain achievement), namely the collection of historical coding objects, the layout of the exhibition space, museum tour activities, and playing Sandi Caesar games by the guide; quadrant C (low priority), namely workshop and event activities, merchandise; and no attractions were found in quadrant D (attractions that were considered excessive). The level of satisfaction with tourist attractions at Museum Sandi, as a whole, is stated in the satisfied. The implications of research in the field produce development recommendations for Museum Sandi tourism managers, namely conducting destination branding by strengthening educational promotional content, developing documentary video attractions, workshops, and regular events, and providing structured tour packages.

Abstract

Generation Z as 33% of Samarinda City's population. Represents significant opportunity for the development of digital-based cultural tourism, as highlighted by the East Kalimantan Tourism Office, which emphasizes the critical role of Gen Z in smart-tourism promotion and creative industries, particularly in the areas surrounding the Ibu Kota Negara (IKN). Gen Z's preference for visual, interactive, and tech savy experiences makes them a key target audience in tourism promotion strategies. This study aims to design an engaging cultural tourism experience for Generation Z using Augmented Reality (AR) technology and gamification. Employing the Double Diamond method with a qualitative approach, the process begins with needs exploration and progresses to prototype testing. The tourism concept “Bahari, Kini, Kena” was tested on ten Gen Z respondents in the form of an exploration of the Samarinda Seberang area, involving interactive activities such as quizzes, searching for hidden objects using AR, and introducing local culture, such as visiting the Shiratal Mustaqiem Mosque cultural heritage site, crossing the Mahakam River using traditional Tambangan boats, and tasting Ramadan-specific dishes like Peca' porridge. Tourism media included an AR app, a pocket guidebook, and interactive souvenirs. The pilot test results showed that amenities received the highest satisfaction score (4.8/5), followed by attractions and activities (4.6), accessibility (4.4), and technology (4.3). The main challenges included limitations in the app system and insufficient tourism infrastructure. This study concludes that an AR-based and gamification approach can enhance Gen Z's engagement in cultural tourism and serve as an effective strategy for promoting local destinations in a contextual, immersive, and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Service quality in the hospitality industry is highly dependent on the workforce's soft skills, yet empirical data regarding the profile and mastery level of these competencies, particularly in the Food and Beverage (F&B) Service sector, remains limited despite its crucial role in addressing industry dynamics. This study aims to identify the profile and analyze the mastery level of soft skills among the F&B Service sector workforce in Yogyakarta City, focusing on five main dimensions: interpersonal skills, self-management, ethics and professionalism, collaboration and problem-solving, and innovation and initiative. The method used is quantitative descriptive through a cross-sectional survey of 48 respondents from six 3-star and 4-star hotels in the Yogyakarta City area. The questionnaire instrument used has been tested for both content and construct validity, as well as reliability, to ensure measurement feasibility. The results showed that the five main soft skills possessed by the F&B Service sector workforce in the hospitality industry in the Yogyakarta City area were in the excellent category: interpersonal skills (88.15%), self-management (87.78%), ethics and professionalism (89.10%), collaboration and problem-solving (89.33%), and innovation and initiative (86.22%), with an overall average of 88.31%. These findings interpretatively confirm that soft skills are an essential foundation for a professional workforce in the hospitality industry. The implication is that future hospitality HR development and vocational education curricula need to focus on strengthening and continuous training to maintain excellent service quality consistently.

Abstract

Rapid technological growth has significant increased in Indonesia. This development has driven the expansion of internet-based innovations, particularly in the financial technology (fintech) sector, which promotes digital payment systems to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and convenience. This study aims to examine the factors influencing the adoption and use of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) among tourism industry players in Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), as well as to formulate effective strategies to enhance its utilization. This study using quantitative methods, focus on statistical analysis to determine the correlation between various factors and QRIS adoption rates among tourism industry stakeholders in NTB. The quantitative analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework, which comprises six key constructs including Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Behavioral Intention, and Use Behavior. Data were collected from 101 respondents selected through proportionate random sampling, representing various sectors of the tourism industry, including travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, bars, spas, and diving operators. The empirical results demonstrate that Behavioral Intention has a significant positive effect on Use Behavior These findings indicate that perceptions of usefulness, ease of use, and supporting conditions are the primary determinants of QRIS adoption, whereas social factors have limited influence in this context. Based on the findings, several strategic recommendations are proposed to enhance QRIS adoption among NTB tourism industry players, including strengthening awareness and user education, improving infrastructure and technical support, fostering institutional partnerships, and providing targeted incentives to encourage sustained utilization.

Abstract

Tourist destinations are one aspect that supports the economic development of a region. The selection of tourist destinations in the modern era cannot be separated from the help of social media where tourist destinations can be promoted and can be accessed by prospective tourists, whenever and wherever they are. This study was conducted at the Gunung Mutis Cultural Heritage tourist destination located in NTT Province. The purpose of the study was to see the magnitude of the influence of Destination Brand Personality, Destination Influencer, and Tourist Personality, on Destination Attachment and Revisit Intention of Tourists at the Gunung Mutis Cultural Heritage. The research method used is a quantitative method using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis tool. The sample in this study amounted to 175 respondents who had visited the Gunung Mutis tourist destination. The results showed that Destination Brand Personality had no significant effect on Destination Attachment or Revisit Intention. Meanwhile, Influencer of Destination had a significant influence on Destination Attachment and Revisit Intention. The Tourist Personality variable is proven to have a significant effect on Destination Attachment, but does not have a significant effect on Revisit Intention. This study can provide theoretical and practical contributions in the development of destination marketing science, especially in understanding how destination personality, tourist personality, and the role of local Influencers influence tourist attachment to the destination and encourage revisit intentions. In addition, the results of this study can also be a reference for tourism actors and destination managers in designing more effective promotional strategies through the use of local Influencers who are culturally and emotionally relevant to target tourists.
