Abstract

Heritage tourism is an attractive destination for many people because it has its own culture and characteristics. The city of Penang is one of the world's cultural heritage destinations which is listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO as a cultural heritage destination and has preserved the culture that has existed for a long time. The majority of tourists who visit Penang City come from Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the influence of authenticity on destination loyalty mediated by heritage tourism in Penang City and analyze how each variable influences each other, is related, and has a positive and significant impact to each other. This research uses quantitative methods by determining the sample using the purposive sampling method. Data testing was carried out using the PLS-SEM test to test the hypothesis and the influence between variables in this research. The results of the research show that the authenticity of Penang City has a positive and significant influence on destination loyalty with heritage tourism as a mediation for Indonesian national tourists in Batam City. This shows that the authenticity of Penang City influences tourists' travel interests.

Abstract

Sport tourism has been proven as a special interest tourism that contributes positively to the economy and the destination image of the event’s host. MotoGP is an international motorcycle racing championship in the premier class of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing series. This study aims to measure the influence of visitor perceptions on the quality of sport tourism from the Mandalika MotoGP event on satisfaction and intention to visit and attend the same event again in subsequent years. The online survey was distributed to 200 respondents who attended the Mandalika MotoGP in 2022 and stayed at one of the accommodation facilities around the area during the event. This study uses SEM-PLS for primary data processing. The results of the study show that perceptions of the quality of sport tourism have a positive effect on the level of satisfaction which then also encourages tourists to return to the same event in the future. In relation to the four dimensions that determine the quality of sport tourism, contest quality and venue quality are two dimensions that most contribute to shaping tourist satisfaction.

Abstract

Improving service quality to meet diverse tourist expectations. Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) is an effective method for evaluating and enhancing service quality. Significant transformations in the tourism industry involve global mobility, technology, and changing customer preferences. Tourists now expect friendly personal interactions, fast service, and experiences tailored to their needs. Holistic and structured assessments are required to identify areas needing improvement and to allocate resources effectively. IPA helps BPW management set priorities and improvement strategies based on the differences between the importance and performance of service elements. This study aims to implement IPA in evaluating services at Al-Fatih Tour & Travel, highlighting nine priority services that need enhancement to meet tourists' expectations. The results using the IPA Cartesian diagram show nine priority services to be improved in quality: (1) Environmental conditions, (2) Appearance, (3) Accuracy in fulfilling promises, (4) Booking and delivery services, (5) Fast and accurate service, (6) Readiness to provide service, (7) Providing a sense of security, (8) Knowledge and skills according to their field, (9) Treating tourists with full attention.

Abstract

The development of the tourism sector has a positive impact on city growth through increased profits and revenues, encouraging competition from city managers in increasing tourist attraction through facilities, investment, employment, and local income. The development of tourism-supporting infrastructure accelerates city growth by increasing population, economic interaction, and land cover transformation. This study identifies the relationship between tourism development, economic transformation, socio-population, and land cover. The 2016-2021 constant price GDP shift-share analysis is used to understand economic transformation, while the 2020-2021 population growth and population density analysis for social aspects. As a result, the socio-population aspect shows a transformation in Batu City, where manufacturing business has shifted to service business as the main occupation, which has an impact on increasing population growth. In land cover, significant changes are seen in built-up, open, plantation, and forest. This research provides a preliminary analysis of the development of the tourism sector from the economic, socio-population, and land cover aspects in 2016-2022. These transformations reflect dynamic changes in the city's economic and social structure, requiring continuous monitoring for better policies.

Mass tourism is an industrial sector that drives economic development significantly but causes many environmental and socio-cultural problems. This is clearly illustrated in Cimenyan, where land conversion for tourism development causes environmental damage and social problems. Qualitative descriptive analysis method was used to get a comprehensive and in-depth picture. Data were obtained from primary sources in the form of field observations and interviews and secondary data in the form of literature review. The results showed that Udjo Ecoland had all four components of tourism destinations (4A) and fulfilled the three pillars of sustainable tourism. The presence of Udjo Ecoland then gradually leads to efforts to preserve culture and environment by forming a new culture that elaborates noble values into a sustainable tourism framework and builds community awareness to create independence with an environmental perspective. Through sustainable tourism management, Udjo Ecoland has succeeded in making a positive contribution to environmental damage and social problems in Cimenyan as an effort to preserve culture and environment.
