Abstract

Traditional snacks currently almost alienated and less attractive to Surabaya residents, especially the children because of the emergence of a wide range of modern snacks. This happens because of  lack of awareness of  local people to appreciate and preserve the genuine products from the area of Surabaya. Traditional snacks including one culture that must be preserved, therefore the purpose of this research is to design book character illustration of traditional snacks Surabaya to improve a child's interest in local products. Traditional snacks are part of the culture of each city in Indonesia where the snacks are. In the midst of modern meal in Surabaya, which serves a variety of selection, Surabaya typical traditional snacks began to be forgotten among the children. From the analysis of these data, obtained keyword "primary" (main). The main concept can also be interpreted as the most prominent of the rival, through the selection of colorful designs that are expected to be more prominent traditional snacks of modern snacks (snack) or other snacks are more popular today. Children disinterest towards local products due to the lack of recognition of traditional snacks to them. Traditional snacks is also a cultural diversity depends on the region of origin. Currently traditional snacks has been a loss of identity or less popular among children. Abstract

Blok Coklat Village is one of the natural-based tourist destinations that have facilities include; cocoa nurseries, cocoa plantations, cocoa bean dryers, chocolate processing plants, cooking classes, brown outlets, chocolate cafes, meeting rooms, fish therapies and outlets selling chocolate products.Blitar Coklat Village was developed by 48 (forty eight) farmer groups in Blitar district and incorporated as Cooperative named Gapoktan "Guyub Santosa". Blitar Kampung Coklat Plantation is currently growing and frequently visited by local, national and mancanagera tourists.Tourists visiting Kampung Coklat Blitar are given insights on the cultivation of cocoa plants ranging from cocoa plant breeding, ripe cocoa seeding, the drying process of cocoa beans to the processing of cocoa beans into delicious processed chocolate.Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that: first, the Blitar Coklat Village logo does not describe the visual identity as a company characteristic. Second, the logo of Kampung Coklat Blitar has similarities with other company logos. Third, the logo of Kampung Coklat does not describe the vision and mission of the Kampung Coklat company set by the board, which is to build an intelligent, independent, empowered and prosperous Indonesian community.Therefore it is necessary to redesign the logo of Kampung Coklat Blitar which describes the visual identity and vision - the mission of Kampung Coklat as the characteristics of the company, so that in the long term it can improve the image or image of the more developed and advanced Kampong Coklat company, for the development of natural education based tourism, attracting many local, national, even foreign tourists.Keywords: logo redesign, Chocolate Village Identity, Chocolate Village Vision, Corporate Image

Abstract

The book is a print media that plays a role to provide educational information to all circles of society, pop-up books are books that contain an interactive element when opened and as if there is an object or object that emerged from a pop-up book that provides a visualization of Yang Interesting. In the design of this pop-up book will discuss about the cultural heritage monument located in the city of Surabaya are still many children who do not know the story behind the history of the monument.With the design of the pop-up book of monuments in Surabaya it aims to introduce the history that is on the monument in Surabaya in the form of a pop-up book. By doing research approach to be more focused, hence this research use qualitative research method through collecting data obtained from interview, observation and documentation. Abstract

Wayang berasal dari sebuah kalimat Ma dan Hyanga, artinya berjalan menuju yang maha tinggi, akan tetapi sebagian masyarakat memiliki pemahaman bahwa kalimat wayang berasal dari bahasa Jawa yang berarti sebuah bayangan. Hipotesa bahwa wayang berasal dari kata - kata bayang ini didapat dari bukti bahwa para penonton dapat menyaksikan pertunjukkan seni wayang dengan hanya melihat bayangan yang digerakkan oleh seniman dalang yang merangkap tugasnya sebagai narator. Media informasi yang ada saat ini merupakan sesuatu yang bisa dipergunakan untuk menyalurkan pesan untuk merangsang pikiran, perasaan, perhatian, dan minat sehingga proses belajar mengajar berlangsung dengan efektif serta efesien (Sadiman,dkk, 2002:6) serta Komponen strategi penyampaian yang dapat di muati pesan untuk disampaikan bisa berupa alat atau orang (Degeng, 1989:142). Bilamana media informasi pembelajaran berbentuk komunikasi visual, sudah dipastikan evaluasi pun relevan. Namun pada kenyataannya hal ini masih ini belum terjadi. Digital painting merupakan sebuah metode membuat sebuah objek seni berupa lukisan secara digital. Metode ini digunakan pada seni lukis tradisional dengan memakai pigment warna, cat air,cat minyak cat akrilic dan sebagainya. Sebagai suatu teknik, metode ini digunakan pada berbagai jenis software desain grafis yang berisi alat-alat yang mendukung untuk digunakan menggambar namun berbentuk digital. Teknik ini mempermudah dalam melukis jauh lebih sederhana tanpa mengenyampingkan nilai-nilai seni tradisional (duotonedesignblog). Digital painting sendiri merupakan metode menciptakan sebuah seni lukisan digital atau teknik untuk membuat seni digital dalam computer. Ilustrasi yang tercipta melalui teknik digital painting sepenuhnya dikerjakan dengan peralatan computer dan software desain seperti photoshop. Selain teknik ini lebih praktis dan mampu memangkas banyak biaya material seperti cat, pigmen, kuas dan lainya. Teknik digital painting sekarang mulai marak digunakan karena mampu menghasilkan sebuah ilustrasi yang sangat detail dan baik tidak kalah dengan teknik manual (Aaron Skonnart, 2017).

Abstract

Batik is a legacy of Indonesia which have been recognized or established by UNESCO since October 2, 2009. Batik has a significance or meaning in each of its motives. The rapid lovers of batik making it grows each days, until each region competing to have a motif that contains the meaning according to the characteristics or in accordance with the characteristic of the area. Unfortunately Ngawi region still lacks of its batik’s motif. Even around the year 2009 until the year 2010, Ngawi begans to experience the crisis of batik’s enthusiasts. Lessening on batik also the interest to develop the regional characteristics. In fact, if viewed from the potential contained in Ngawi, it’s very supportive to improve or develop Ngawi’s batik. Therefore, this study aims to design the icon of Ngawi’s batik’s motif as a media campaign in support of the creative industries. The design of this motif is using the method of data collection with qualitative way, that is by interview, observation and study of the existing literature, which is very important to determine the concept of the design that will be designed. From the results of the data collection, the concept that emerged is “Modern”. “Modern” is the concept of a motif‘s design, designed in a contemporary style or the present time to develop an existing motif. The concept is used by most of the motif’s design, good design and the chosen color. There should be an effort to attract the attention of Ngawi’s residents, thus motif were designed and packaged in a modern way, different from another existing motif. One of them is to design a motif that contains the icons of Ngawi by combining colors characteristic of Ngawi, by hoping that this medium can be a medium that can redevelop Ngawi’s batik, and boost the spirit batik’s enthusiasts, for Ngawi’s batik and the potential that Ngawi has can be known by the public. Kata Kunci: Motif Batik, Tulis, ikon, kabupaten Ngawi, Media Promosi, Industri Kreatif, Modern.

Abstract

Researchers make direct observations and found that Coban Talun tourism does not have a logo or visual identity that can describe the potential or natural wealth in this tour. In this design, researchers will focus on the logo design process in the goal branding effort.The concept of a logo that has been designed is impressive from data and keyword analysis. The concept is to give a great impression to the tourists who visit this tour by making a visual identity that describes the potential and natural wealth of this tour.In addition to creating logos, the design also designs brand guidelines that aim to provide an explanation of the value and essence of the Kemiren village brand along with guidelines for the use of their logos and applications for design execution. Implementation of designs on stationary sets and promotional media such as designed brochures, x-banners and merchandises intended as an informative medium that can help target audiences in knowing the brands of Coban Talun.

Abstract

Guna Guna Snack is one of the local food producers in Surabaya. Guna Guna Snack become signature’s of Surabaya since early 2012. The problem is, at this time there are many competitors offer the same products as Guna Guna Snack. So, to attract attention and introduce products to consumers requires their visual communication design such as media promotion to communicate a message for introduce product of Guna Guna Snack and to differentiate Guna Guna Snack with the other signature’s of Surabaya. The research methodology that is used a qualitative methodology with data collection through observation, interviews, documentation, literature, existing studies, and competitors studies. The result of these research will be made a visual communication design such as media promotion in three categories: Above The Line (ATL), Below The Line (BTL), and Through The Line (TTL). With youthful concept and visual displays based on pop art, hopefully it can  be representing the face of Guna Guna Snack. Abstract

Kampung manik-manik kaca bertempatkan di Desa Plumbon Gambang Kecamatan Gudo Kabupaten Jombang, Jawa Timur. Kampung manik-manik kaca menghasilkan sebuah kerajinan tangan yang berbahan utama limbah kaca atau daur ulang kaca dan menghasilkan produk manik yang siap dirangkai dan sudah dirangkai berupa gantungan kunci, gelang, kalung, dan sebagainya. Kampung manik-manik kaca sudah mendistribusikan produknya ke beberapa daerah seperti Kalimantan, Toraja Jakarta dan Bali hingga ke luar negeri salah satunya adalah Italia, Belanda, dan Amerika. Untuk mendukung penjualan di pasaran agar tidak kalah saing dan mengangkat potensi yang ada di Kampung manik-manik kaca agar lebih dikenal maka dibuatlah perancangan identitas visual sebagai upaya mengenalkan kampung manik-manik kaca kepada masyarakat khususnya Jawa Timur. Dengan menggunakkan metode penelitian kualitatif, maka dihasilkan data dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, studi literature, dan studi kompetitor yang berkaitan dengan identitas visual dan brand awareness. Hasil dari perancangan identitas visual ini berupa logo, graphic standard manual, dan menerapkan logo kedalam media promosi.

Abstract

The purpose of designing a book based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. To introduce and provide a knowledge of the green iguana reptiles, and also provides maintenance information reptile green iguana well. Further studies conducted using qualitative research methods are observation, interviews, documentation, and literature. To obtain the data used and supports the creation of a book-based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. Data were analyzed using multiple stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. After analyzing the data, found a book concept based green iguana reptile introduction of photography as a means of information for the people of Surabaya. Keyword "Beauty", the description of "beauty" is a state of unsightly nature and character of a person, place, object, or idea that provides perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. An entity that is admired, has a feature that is associated in perfection. Abstract

Bedhaya Ketawang is a traditional dance which has existed since the Kingdom of Mataram, and  it is one of the cultures in Indonesia. Bedhaya Ketawang is a sacred dance for predecessors, from the previous kings to the future ones. However, people usually misinterpret the meaning of Bedhaya Ketawang as time goes by. Therefore, a research to create a reference book about Bedhaya Ketawang as a part of history of culture which should be protected. The technique of collecting the data used is through observation, interview, and the study of literature, the study of competitor, and documentation. Each data collected has an important role to the emerged case on designing the reference book of Bedhaya Ketawang using the technique of Digital Watercolour, Illustration for teenagers around 18 to 21 years old as cultural observation efforts, so it requires a lot of accurate data which the result can be responsible. The data is used to find out the initial concept of designing the reference book of Bedhaya Ketawang.The result of the reference book of Bedhaya Ketawang  and media implementation has had the elements which are informative from the background of the art to the meanings in the aspects of Bedhaya Ketawang. Based on the concept, the keyword used is Supportive which supposed to be the media reference that can get the positive responses for audiences, which are teenagers from 18 to 21 years old.
