Abstract

Tumors that occur in the lungs can be divided into several types, namely benign tumors, malignant tumors, primary tumors and tumors caused by metastases from malignancies originating from other organs. There are about 1 million deaths in the population each year, which are caused by lung cancer malignancies. The case of lung tumor malignancy is ranked 4th, from the total number of cancers that occur in Indonesia. The increase in mortality due to malignant lung tumors is most likely due to delays in diagnosis. According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, lung tumors are the main cause of death in men with a percentage (21.8%) and in women with a percentage (9.1%). This research uses descriptive observational method with retrospective observation using purposive sampling technique. The data used in the form of medical records. There were 159 lung tumor patients studied, consisting of 77.4% of men, 44.0% of 41-60 years of age, 95.0% of no family history, 67.9% of shortness of breath, and 67.9% of smoking history. 79.2%, using FNAB as much as 37.7%, stage IVA as much as 25.8%, squamosa cell carcinoma as much as 50.3% and chemotherapy as much as 47.8%. Lung tumor patients were mostly found in men, with an age range of 41-60 years, tended to suffer from patients who did not have a family history, the most had symptoms of shortness of breath, were active smokers, the most were stage IVA, with the type of squamous cell carcinoma. FNAB samples were 50.3% and underwent chemotherapy.

Abstract

Lung cancer is all malignancy that occurs in the lung and originates from the lung itself (primary) and can even occur from outside the lung (metastasis). 2. Smoking is the highest risk factor for lung cancer. In general, the early stages do not cause prominent complaints, but over time general complaints can be seen. 3. Many lung cancer patients are diagnosed at stage III and IV so that the life expectancy is lower. This study aims to determine the frequency distribution of pulmonary CA patients in hospitals. DR. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province in 2018-2021 with quantitative descriptive research methods. Lung cancer patients were male (73.8%) and female (26.2%) mostly aged 35-65 (70.9%), without a family history of lung cancer (77.9%), had a history of lung cancer. smoking (75.0%), found in stage IV B (37.7%), stage IV A (37.3%), stage III B (15.6%) and stage III A (15.6%). Most lung cancer patients were found without comorbid (41.8%), accompanied by complications of pleural effusion (35.2%) with contralateral lung metastases (32.8%). Most local metastases are found in the contralateral lung and distant metastases are often found in the brain. Early detection is important because the speed of treatment greatly affects the prognosis of the disease.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease due to decreased insulin production in pancreatic cells, or the body experiences insulin ineffectiveness. Based on data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), in 2013 – 2017 there was an increase in the number of people with DM from 10.3 million to 16.7 million in 2045. This type of research is an observational analytic with a cross sectional method using a total sampling of 30 patient samples. Type 2 DM that meets the inclusion criteria. Data collection begins in February 2022 until it is completed. The data used are primary data in the form of direct examination. Data were evaluated by chi square test. The research sample was 30 patients with type 2 diabetes with an HbA1c value of 7%, namely 23 patients (76.3%), for an HbA1c value <7%, as many as 7 patients (23.3%) and total cholesterol levels 200mg/dl. namely as many as 20 patients (66.7%), for total cholesterol levels <200mg/dl as many as 10 patients (33.3%). The results of the chi square correlation obtained a value of p = 0.033, because the value of p = 0.033 <0.05 so it can be stated that Ha is accepted and Ho is declared rejected or there is a significant correlation, with p = 0.033 it can be interpreted that the strength of the correlation is positive between the HbA1c value and cholesterol levels. total in patients with type 2 diabetes. There was a significant correlation between the value of HbA1c and total cholesterol levels in patients with type 2 diabetes with p-value = 0.033.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic or long-term condition that occurs due to high blood sugar levels caused by the inability of the pancreas to be able to produce enough insulin or even unable to produce insulin. The number of uncomplicated type 2 DM patients who were hospitalized at Pertamina Bintang Amin Husada Hospital Bandar Lampung in the January-October 2021 was 497 patients. This observational analytic study with cross sectional method used a total sampling of 30 samples of type 2 DM patients who met the inclusion criteria. Data collection began in January 2022. Data were evaluated by chi-square test. The research sample was 30 patients with type 2 DM with a duration of suffering >5 years as many as 15 patients and <5 years as many as 15 patients, with a mean blood sugar level (GDS) of 223, the lowest GDS 87 and the highest GDS 530. The mean creatinine level of patients Type 2 diabetes mellitus out of 30 respondents was 0.9 with the lowest creatinine level 0.2 and the highest 3.2. The results of the chi-square correlation between the length of suffering from type 2 diabetes and creatinine levels obtained p value = 0.048, because the p value = 0.048 <0.05 so it can be stated that there is a relationship. In the results of the chi-square correlation between blood sugar levels and creatinine levels, the p value = 0.060, because the p value = 0.060 > 0.05, it can be stated that there is no significant correlation between blood sugar levels and creatinine levels in type 2 DM patients.

Abstract

Aminoglycosides including gentamicin have been used successfully for decades in the treatment of gram-negative bacterial infections. However, gentamicin produces testicular toxicity, resulting in limited therapeutic doses. Lycopene, one of the antioxidants in tomatoes, has singlet-oxygen and free radical scavenging capacity. Moreover, lycopene serves as a promising intervention for testicular toxicity associated with oxidative stress. Researchers wanted to see the effect of tomato juice on the seminiferous tubules of white rats. This type of research is experimental research with post test only control group design. The rats used were 29 male white rats (Rattus novergicus) which were divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group as normal control. The positive control group was given gentamicin 20 mg/kgBW. Treatment groups 1, 2, and 3 were the treatment groups with gentamicin 20 mg/kgBW and tomato juice 25%, 50%, and 100%. Gentamicin was given for 10 days and tomato juice was given for 24 days. Data analysis was carried out using the One Way Annova method and continued with Post Hoc. After statistical testing, there was a significant effect of giving tomato juice on seminiferous epithelial thickness induced by gentamicin in white rats of the Sprague Dawley strain (p<0.05).
