Journal of Education and Learning (EduLearn) ISSN: 2089-9823, e-ISSN 2302-9277 is a multi-disciplinary, peer-refereed open-access international journal which has been established for the dissemination of state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of education, teaching, development, instruction, educational projects and innovations, learning methodologies and new technologies in education and learning. Senior Secondary Students' inability to draw a significant difference between these school subjects, which lead to their ceaseless absence in the class is a critical issue that calls for an investigation. This research examined teachers' and student’s assessment of the level of relatedness of Civic education and Government as a school subject in Kwara State. A correlational form of a survey was adopted, civic education and government teachers and students in the senior schools in the three Senatorial districts were the populations. A multi-stage sampling procedure was employed in the selection of 63 Government and Civic education teachers and 606 students. A questionnaire with content validity and a reliability index of 0.87 and 0.76 respectively was used for eliciting the data. The analyses were done using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that the two-school subject was very related in all ramifications, with a pass in one leading to a pass in the other. It was recommended that the curriculum planner should collapse the curriculum and contents of the two subjects into one rather than overburden the school timetable.

Preservation of Indonesian culture is an important thing that must be considered. One of the efforts that have been made in preserving culture is technological development implementation. In cultural preservation, based on data obtained from 45 respondents from the Bima community in Indonesia, 34.9% of the community does not understand the Bima script. It means that only 65.1% of the community can understand Bima script. This condition will continue to grow if there is no effort made to preserve the Bima script. Because people should have a comprehensive knowledge of the Bima script to understand its usage in writing and reading activities, people tend to have less desire to learn the Bima script. Mataram University is trying to develop creative and innovative learning products to learn the Bima script learning model in an interactive application using a smartphone to translate Latin letters into the script. This development aims to facilitate the process of learning Bima characters for the community. The method that has been used is to apply a string replacement algorithm based on the Bima script rules in the reference book containing the ancient Bima script. According to the experiment result, the alpha test value from 31 respondents is 99.36%, and the Beta test value from 45 respondents Bima society is 91.50%. It can be concluded that this application is feasible as a learning medium.

Communication Media has been developed in the form of printed Media and electronic Media. This development is not only easy to communicate and receive information fast wherever and whenever we go but also cheap. Besides positive impacts, it has negative influence to children and teenagers growth and adults. In other word it brings great influence to people. That is why Media literacy is needed so people will be able to know what Media is. Media presents through a long process. What we see is not 100% true. There are politics, economics, culture etc in it. People have to know and understand Media. So, media literacy is so important to educate society when they access information in mass media. The program must be doing together, comprehensive from all element in society in structural and cultural way.

The purpose of this article is to design a consistent research-based learning model and internal relevance on biology learning at Higher Education. The study participants were 88 students of Biology Education Department IAIN Batusangkar who studied Research Method subjects in Biology study, academic year 2016/2017. The method used was educational design research with preliminary stages of research, prototyping stage, and assessment stage. The instruments used were product assessment sheets. Preliminary research findings were analysed by reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions. The mean score of formative evaluation result and mean score of the students’ achievement were analysed by descriptive statistic. Preliminary research results showed that changes should be made toward the biology learning outcomes. The next finding was that there were 9 supporting theories used to design research-based learning models on biology learning. Formative and summative prototype evaluation results were good and had met the criteria of developing the learning model. So, it was concluded that research-based learning model on biology learning had consistency and internal relevance.

The stages in an individual's moral development will determine how an individual will behave. Kohlberg divides moral development into three stages, namely pre-conventional, conventional and post-conventional. However, the stages of individual moral development may vary. These different levels of moral development will influence individuals’ behavior when they face ethical dilemmas. This research aimed to determine the correlation between accounting students’ moral development and narcissism on academic fraud. This quantitative research employed a survey method. The research samples were 46 accounting students taken with a random sampling method. The results showed that narcissism affects accounting students’ academic fraud but there is no correlation between the level of moral development and academic fraud.

This paper represents an investigation into teachers barriers towards the use of E-curricula in teaching Arabic language. It explores questions about the approaches to teaching and the motivations of using E-curricula. The main research method used was semi structured interviews. Many factors were found to influence the use of E-curricula, some of them were surprising and revealing. An unwillingness to challenge or change traditional teaching methods can be assured. These findings contribute to a better-informed appreciation of the state of teaching as well as E-curricula in basic stage schools in Jordan.

This research is conducted to determine the effectiveness of web based expert system application for identification and intervention of children with special needs in inclusive school. 40 teachers of inclusive school in Surakarta participated in this research. The result showed that: (1) web based expert system application was suitable with the needs of teachers/officers, had 50% (excellence criteria), (2) web based expert system application was worthwhile for identification of children with special needs, had 50% (excellence criteria), (3) web based expert system application was easy to use, had 52.5% (good criteria), and (4) web based expert system application had result accuracy in making decision, had 52.5% (good criteria). It shows that the use of web based expert system application is effective to be used by teachers in inclusive school in conducting identification and intervention with percentage on average was more than 50%.

The teaching and learning styles that teachers and students apply in their teaching and learning have dramatically changed due to technological advances particularly in computer. Technological advancements are affecting the way we teach and learn. Technology has found a profound home in the world of teaching and learning. Teaching/learning technologies (TLT) have received considerable attention of many including academicians in recent years. The promises of TLT vary for the respective publics. Many insist that students today do not learn well with traditional teaching and learning methods. They argue that students require presentations that are visual and stimulating. Classroom teachers hold the key to the effective use of technology to improve learning. Whatever the varying perceptions of the promises of teaching, leaning, technology, presentation instruction in the classroom, using the Web for teaching the bulk of their course, and many other faculty are considering adopting such technologies. This paper will examine some of the advantages and disadvantages of only one type of TLT, presentational technology in the classroom, and some of the issues for faculty to consider before adopting it.

This study aimed to develop an Android-based learning media to improve shopping skills in retarded students. The research method was the design validation stage which is part of the research development. The instruments used in this study were (1) the practicality of the research product questionnaire, and (2) the validation sheet to measure the validity of the research product. The data analysis technique was to determine the average rating of research products, then the average was stated qualitatively in four categories which are very high, high, medium, and invalid. The results showed that the Android-based application media to support shopping skills has been validated by experts and practitioners in the good category.

This study aims to develop the teacher's perceptions of critical thinking in science learning in elementary schools. The samples in this study were 50 elementary school teachers in Central Java. Selection of samples employed convenience sampling. The instruments in this study used a modified Likert Scale. The validity tests used in this research were content validity and construct validity. Content validity was measured using CVR (Content Validity Ratio) and construct validity was measured using EFA (Exploratory Factor Analysis). By using SPSS, reliability estimation was obtained with the Cronbach Alpha formula 0.83 and it can be stated that the instruments for evaluating teacher perceptions of critical thinking in science learning are reliable.
