Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor in cervix which is occupy the secondpossition that cause the death of Indonesia’s women under the breast cancer. One of thetraditional medicine that can be used to cure cancer is Phaleria macrocarpa(Scheff.) Boerl leaves. The petroleum eter extract of Phaleria macrocarpa(Scheff.) Boerl leaves has antiproliferation activity againts cervical cancer cell lines(HeLa) with IC50 9 µg/ml (Kintoko & Azimahtol Hawariah, 2007). This research wasaimed to detect cytotoxic activity of isolate 5 of ethyl acetate fraction of petroleum etherextract of Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl leaves againts HeLa cell lines. Initially,the powder of Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl was extracted using Soxhletapparatus with petroleum ether. The extracts was concentrated and partitioned untilethyl acetate fraction was obtained. The fraction of ethyl acetate was isolated usingPreparative Thin Layer Chromatography on silica gel F254 as stationary phase andn-hexane : ethyl acetate (9 : 1) as mobile phase. Cytotoxic activity against HeLa celllines was determinated by LC50 value by direct counting. The isolation by preparativethin layer chromatography resulted five isolate on Rf value : 0,05 ; 0,10 ; 0,20 ; 0,60 ;and 0,90. The LC50 values of isolate 5 (Rf : 0,90) was 123,60 µg/ml.

Abstract

To support high quality health service in hospital, Pharmacy Installation ofYogyakarta Hospital needs to evaluate implementation of drug information service foroutpatient. This study is aimed to identify the realization of drug information service ofoutpatient implementation of Pharmacy Installation of Yogyakarta Hospital comparedto the specified target. This study was carried out by descriptive design using secondarydata of Pharmacy Installation programs, interview with a pharmacist was assignedoutpatients serving as research subjects, as well as direct observation of druginformation service for outpatient. Gap analysis was used to identify the comparisonbetween the realization and specified target. The result of this study of evaluation indrug information service implementation of outpatient showed negative gaps as muchas -0.67%. The component information presented included the efficacy of drugs, how touse, the rules of use, duration of drug use, drug side effects, however the components ofdrug information that is unallowed in Pharmacy Installation of Yogyakarta Hospitalhow shcedule of drug use and signs toxicity.

Abstract

Candidiasisis aninfection caused by Candida albicans. Synthetic treatment against Candida albicans have been developed, but reports of resistance to antifungal agents that there continue to emerge, and cause a lot of side effects. Pacar kuku (Lawsonia inermis L.) is one of the plants that have antifungal activity. Chemical contentof polyphenols inhibit candidiasis is a form of naphthoquinone. This study aimed to test the antifungal activity of insoluble ethyl acetate fraction of ethanolic extract of pacar kuku leaves against Candida albicans. Insoluble fraction obtained from the ethyl acetate extraction of previously fractionated with ethyl acetate. Identification of chemical compounds made with phytochemical screening. Test antifungal activity against Candida albicans using microdilution method. Drugs used for comparison is amphoterisin B infusion in doses 250 µg/ml with the concentration of 1,5 µg/ml, 0,75 µg/ml, 0,375 µg/ml, 0,187 µg/ml, 0,0937 µg/ml, dan 0,0469 µg/ml,. The parameters in this study are the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC). The concentration of the fraction used in the MIC and MFC test is the concentration of 80%, 40%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 2,5% w/v. Identification of chemical compounds made with test tubes and assay on anthraquinone compounds. The results showed that the MFC of ethyl acetate insoluble fraction of ethanol extract of leaves pacar kuku is 40% w/v. MIC and MFC amphoterisin B respectively 0,0937 µg/ml and 0,187 µg/ml. Test tubes showed that the ethyl acetate insoluble fraction of ethanol extract of leaves pacar kuku containing polyphenols, saponins, and quinone. The naphtoquinone total content in insoluble ethyl acetate fraction of ethanolic extract of pacar kuku leaves consecutively 7,97±0,14%. The conclusion showed that insoluble ethyl acetate fraction of ethanolic extract of pacar kuku leaves have antifungal activity. Keywords: Lawsonia inermis L., Candida albicans, microdilution, MIC, MFC, naphtoquinone content

Abstract

The intervention led to various complications in dialysis patients includehypertension intradialitik as a result of hemodynamic changes.The phenomenon of theparadox of which caused activation of endogenous vasopresor due to changes involume status and antihypertensive medication terdialisisnya factor. This study aims todetermine patterns of use of antihypertensive drugs, evaluating the rationality and sideeffects of antihypertensive drugs based on literarur. This study was performed with thepatient’s condition based on the observation of patients to see medical records drugdata, laboratory data of patients and patient’s condition.Retrospective study ofhemodialysis patients in the hospital PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta year periodfrom 2009 to 2010. Patients according to inclusion criteria, anti-hypertensive drugreceipts and complete medical record data. Evaluation of rationality involves the use ofantihypertensive drugs right dose, right patient and side effects based on the DrugInformation Hand Book 2005, Handbook of Clinical Drug Data, 2002. The study found60 patients who fit the inclusion criteria. Based on the research patterns of use ofantihypertensive drugs in patients with hemodialysis is captoril, furosemide, nifedipine,lisinopril, amlodipine, valsatran and clonidin. Evaluation rationality inappropriate useof drugs dose use of captopril 11 patients of 34 patients and furosemide 18 patients from52 patients, inappropriate use of captopril patients was 9 patients of 34 patients.Sideeffects that occur in patients with hypokalemia due to the use of furosemide is 40patients, cough due to captopril was 13 patients, side effects of nifedipinegastrointestinal disorders cough and 11 patients, 5 patients coughlisinopril. Conclusion:he use of antihypertensive medications in hemodialysispatientsat RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is rational.

Abstract

Prevalence of Candidiasis is still in high level. Some antimycosis have been less effective so it needs to explore novel sources of antimycosis, one of candidate is the soursop leaves (Annona muricata L.) The aims of this study to observe antimycosis activity of the ethanol extract of soursop leaves at concentration of 15 %, 30 %, and 60 % against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 with agar diffusion method . The results showed that all of the ethanol extract of soursop leaves have exhibited antimycosis activity which concentration-dependent.

Abstract

Antioxidant was a compound which possessed an activity as scavenger of free radicals. This study was aimed to examine the antioxidant activity of ethanolic extract from leaves and skin barks of Garcinia mangostana. Antioxidant activity were evaluated by using DPPH method for ethanolic extract in serial concentration of 800, 400, 200 and 100ug/mL. The result found that ethanolic extract of leaves and skin barks of Garcinia mangostana showed antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 674.947 ug/mL and 565.759 ug/ml, they were eleven and ten times weaker than d-α-tocopherol (IC50 57,114 ug/mL) which were used as a control. In conclusion, EE from leaves and skin barks of Garcinia mangostana exhibited an activity as scavenger of free radicals from DPPH.

Abstract

Schizoprenia is one of psychiatric disorders that caused by brain damage. One of schizoprenia handling is giving antipsychotics to prevent the symptoms, that antipsychotics was effective therapy to treat it. This study aims to determine the treatment pattern of schizoprenia patient behind reconciliation program at Puskesmas Mungkid. The method used is analytical survey with retrospective data collection. This research were conducted on 42 medical records of patients in period January-June 2014 which receive antipsychotics medication and were analyzed with descriptive analysis. Obtained data of this research, showed that the most common single therapy of for antipsychotics is haloperidol (54,93%) and the most common therapy was haloperidol and chlopromazine (61,91%). The most common treatment category of schizoprenia is the typical antipsychotic treatmemt (92,96%), while for appropriate dose and the use of antipsychotic drugs were used 97,18% and 2,82% were not appropriate to the standar.

Abstract

Hair fertilizer was used to stimulate hair growth that is used topically on the scalp. Natural materials are expected to be used as fertilizer hair is green tea leaves and herb gotukola. Because the green tea leaves contain a chemical polyphenol compounds that are flavonoids and their derivatives and herb gotukola contain lead compound triterfenoid saponin that are asiatikoside, flavonoids, phytosterols, madecassid acid, madecassoside, asiatic acid and amino acids are thought to have properties as fertilizer hair. This study was conduced to determine whether the combination of the water extract of green tea leaves and herb gotukola has activity as a hair fertilizer and combination which has the most optimum activity. Test hair fertilizer activities include the rate of hair growth, hair growth acceleration and the weight of the hair. In this study used three combinations are combination 1 ( the water extract of green tea leaves and 5% water gotukola herb extract 2.5%), combination 2 (the water extract of green tea leaf extract 7.5% and 2.5% water gotukola herb) and combination 3 (the water extract of green tea leaves and 5% water gotukola herb extract 7.5%). The results showed the combination of the water extract of green tea leaves and water extract herb gotukola has activity as fertilizer hair and extract the most optimum combination is a combination of 1 with a concentration of water extract of green tea leaves (5%) and water extract of the herb gotukola (2.5%) the rate of hair growth 2.689 cm in 28 days, accelerated hair growth 0.128 cm / day and the hair weighs 0.1938 grams in 28 days.

Abstract

Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a disease caused by infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The pharmacology treatment for the infection was antiretroviral therapy. The problem from the use of antiretroviral drugs (ARV) is the emergence of unwanted drug reactions (adverse drug reaction). The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the incidence of adverse drug reactions from the use of antiretroviral drugs in the treatment of patients with HIV / AIDS that occurred in RSUD Gunung Jati Cirebon. This study involves 122 patients. Data were obtained from medical records and patient interview form. The data were evaluated with a descriptive analysis of demographic profile of patients and the percentage of adverse drug reaction (ADR) The results showed an adverse drug reaction (ADR) on the use of antiretroviral drugs in the treatment of patients with HIV / AIDS in RSUD Gunung Jati Cirebon. ARV regimens are the most widely used is the combination of Zidovudine + Lamivudine + Nevirapine / Efavirenz (AZT + 3TC + EFV) as much as 31.2% (38 people). Duration of therapy ARV in Seroja Clinic RSUD Gunung Jati Cirebon most is> 2 years - 4 years 28.7% (35 people). Types of adverse drug reaction (ADR), which occurs in the use of antiretroviral drugs in the treatment of patients with HIV / AIDS in RSUD Gunung Jati Cirebon include: headache (22.1%), fatigue (6.8%), anemia (9.3%), itching (14.4%), nausea / vomiting (20.1%), diarrhea (7.2%), lipodystrophy (2.0%), rash (11.3%), skin discoloration (1.6%), neuropathy (1.6%) and sleep disorders (3.6%).

Abstract

Psycho active substance abuse is a common problem throughout the world, and it is associated with the increase of mortality and morbidity. One of substitution therapy program is methadone maintenance therapy program. The main problem is most of patients stop following the maintenance program before they feel the therapeutic effects of it. Compliance in taking daily medication is the focus in achieving the health status of patients. The research objective is to determine the relationship between the knowledge level with methadone maintenance therapy program in the public health center of Parakan, District of Temanggung. The research method was cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients of methadone maintenance therapy program in the public health centers of Parakan, District of Temanggung. Samples on this research were 31 patients and they are all active on methadone maintenance therapy program in the public health center of Parakan, District of Temanggung. Data analysis was performed using Chi Square (x2) formula correlation test. The results show there is a relationship between knowledge level with methadone maintenance therapy program in the public health center of Parakan, District of Temanggung with p value 0.001, with 13 respondents (42%) are in a good level of knowledge category and methadone treatment in obidiance catagory is 11 respondents (35.5%). It is concluded that there is a relationship between methadone maintenance therapy program in the public health center of Parakan, District of Temanggung.
