Abstract

The purpose of this article is to examine Thomas Lickona's theories about how to be a good citizen or a good character of citizens. This article was compiled using the library research method, namely the method of data collection carried out by utilizing library resources and materials. The results obtained that a person can be said to be a good citizen if he is able to carry out his duties and obligations properly in living life as a citizen. To create a good character of citizens and answer challenges and opportunities for global life, a new paradigm of education is needed. Global Civic Education is the fastest form of education reform in the current era. Global Citizenship Education is considered as one of the subjects that can prepare global citizens to be able to understand various global problems. Global citizenship education basically has a very good goal to create an equal perception of the duties, rights and obligations of citizens in carrying out the duties of being good citizens and not to distinguish between equality of race, ethnicity, culture, religion or groups that are equally have human rights.

Abstract

Dewasa ini perubahan kurikulum sangat mengutamakan pembentukan karakter, mengingat pada kenyataan menurunnya kwalitas hidup masyarakat baik dari segi moral, mental, terutama generasi muda. Untuk itu saat ini kurikulum pendidikam yang berkarakter diorientasikan untuk pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Perubahan kurikulum merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari kurikulum itu sendiri (inherent), bahwa kurikulum yang berlaku harus dilakukan peningkatan dengan mengutamakan kebutuhan peserta didik. Guru sebagai ujung tombak dalam implementasi kurikulum dituntut menjadi guru yang mampu meramu kurikulum 2013 secara tepat yaitu proses penilaian dan kompetensi mampu meningkatkan kompetensi siswa untuk menghasilkan lulusan mampu menghadapi tantangan global. Guru harus menyadari bahwa pendidikan sangat penting untuk menjawab tantangan global, dan siswa harus bertanggungjawab dalam menuntut ilmu untuk membentuk pendidikan karakter yang menjadi tujuan kurikulum 2013. Kurikulum 2013 membentuk siswa melakukan pengamatan/observasi, bertanya dan bernalar terhadap ilmu yang diajarkan. Siswa diberi mata pelajaran berdasarkan tema yang terintegrasi agar memiliki pengetahuan untuk tentang lingkungan, kehidupan, dan memiliki pondasi pribadi tangguh  dalam kehidupan sosial serta kreativitas yang lebih baik. Pendidikan karakter mengatur tata kelakuan manusia pada aturan khusus, hukum, norma, adat kebiasaan dalam bidang kehidupan sosial manusia yang memiliki pengaruh sangat kuat pada sikap mental (mental attitude) manusia secara individu dalam  aktivitas hidup. Sikap mental sebagai unsur penggerak untuk kelakuan manusia, memberikan reaksi terhadap lingkungan alam, dan sosial. Perilaku manusia dapat dipengaruhi langsung oleh alam pikiran/jiwa manusia dalam menghadapi lingkungan.  Mentalitas manusia merupakan suatu nilai karakter yang berkembangkan dalam diri manusia secara perorangan dan dipedomani oleh struktur nilai yang mengakar dan melembaga dalam masyarakat. Misalnya satuan pendidikan, dalam satuan pendidikan terbentuk sistem nilai sebagai pedoman perilaku seluruh komunitas satuan pendidikan yang merupakan orientasi nilai (value orientation) komunitas satuan pendidikan dalam kehidupan satuan pendidikan dan diluar satuan pendidikan

Abstract

Tax is one of the sources of state revenue used to carry out development for all the people of Indonesia. One of the implementations of the tax policy is swallowing cultivation. Swallow nest business is indeed a business that can bring in a decent income. Qualitative methods used in the form of library research, data collection obtained through journals, books, magazines, documents, and the web that are relevant to an investigation — data analysis techniques based on library data on the implementation of taxes on swallow cultivation in Indonesia. Assessment is carried out by looking at the implementation of the tax collection (results, costs, ease of application) with standard taxation criteria. These criteria are related to the adequacy, equity, and convenience.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the implementation process of multicultural education as the media to build the character of the nation through the curricular program in primary school. The method used is the qualitative descriptive. The subject of this research includes the headmaster of the school, educator and the students by using purposive sampling. The instrument to gather information includes observation, documentation, and interview. The knowledge regarding the multicultural education includes respect diversities, understand, and accept diversities, either gender, religion, tribe, ethnic, culture, beliefs, economic ability, social condition, besides that the ability of the students to accept their friends who have academic differences either higher academic ability of lower academic ability, how the students can accept achievements in learning, the condition of the students either ABK that has disabilities or mental illness as an act to build the character of the nation. The multicultural learning program is done through: curriculum based on multicultural, intra-curricular program through morning carpet and day carpet, and co-curricular program (assembly, mini trip, resource person, and multiage).

Abstract

This paper is part of the Unimed Anthropology Social research thesis which aims to explain the development of slum settlements on the Deli river and find ways to rejuvenate the Deli riverbank without involving social conflict. This study uses ethnography method. Research technique with interviews conducted and observations of informants in the Deli river in Labuhan Deli Village. From the results of the research, the people come from various regions in North Sumatra, such as Karo and Langkat Regencies, migrated to Medan for improve their lives, but lost because they did not have education and skills. The existence of a culture of fear of returning home because they had migrated, so they continued to live in the city of Medan, there was no other way but to find cheap settlements to survive, one of which was by arranging the river banks of the Deli. The government must issue policies that regulate settlers to settle in more feasible places, namely: with relocation programs, socialization of appropriate education and the dangers of settling in slums. Therefore, with this policy the community has new settlements, where these settlements have low installments and are pioneered by the government.

Abstract

This research aims to find out that there is political party intervention in the 33rd Nahdlatul Ulama Congress (Muktamar NU) in Jombang. This research managed to uncover the fact that political conflict unfolding during the Muktamar has not emerged suddenly, but the accumulation from the diverse antagonistic relation among nahdliyyin’s organizational management. Of course, the main determinant was inextricably linked with political rivalries among NU elite in order to dominate and to influence the NU’s organizational policy according to each interest. In light of the context, therefore, conflict and elite theory analysis are used as analytical lancet so as to find the driving factors in the conflict within the 33rd NU Muktamar leadership succession. This research uses the qualitative method with descriptive research type. Data were collected through observation and interview. Through this research, I intend to give the scientific contribution that can be considered as a reflection matter for NU organization. As a scientific work, this research tries as much as possible to prioritize the objectivity. Through the unfolding dynamic in Muktamar NU in Jombang, I am interested in to scrutinize why political partiy elite involve directly there so it appears that there is political parties intervention to the Muktamar result and I want to find out what factors drove political conflict in the Muktamar.

Abstract

its implementation, a smart city needs collaboration between government, people, and technology. From those elements, the human factor is the important thing that determines the success of a Smart city. However, in fact, the percentage of Indonesian citizens accessing government-owned sites and applications is still very low, less than 15%. This study aims to provide recommendations for a more interesting Smart City application design through gamification concept. In this study, a qualitative approach with Six Sigma method was conducted on millennial respondents in several major cities in Indonesia. From the study results, 87% of users feel more interested in the modified application. This innovation is expected to lead to increased citizen involvement. This innovation will not only improve citizen participation but also can be an effective solution to improve the quality of citizens to become Smart People, as initial capital in building Smart Economy.

Abstract

To increase teacher professionalism in MIN 12 Medan City an action was carried out using the teaching model per teaching. This research was conducted in MIN 12 Medan City with the research object of 38 teachers. The research method used in this study is a school action research using two cycles carried out in September 2018 to December 2018. Based on the results of the study obtained that by using a model of peer teaching activities for teachers of MIN 12 Medan City can increase the professionalism of MIN 12 Medan teachers . This is shown based on the results of the study at the time of pre-cycle there were 16 teachers or 42%, after the learning model per teaching in the first cycle there was an increase to 28 people (73%), then continued with cycle 2 there was an increase to 36 people (94 %). This proves an increase in teacher discipline after the principal uses the learning model per teaching. The implementation of classroom supervision carried out by the principal through the learning model approach per teaching is proven to improve the quality of learning because this happens because the supervised teacher does not feel awkward / afraid in carrying out learning. In this supervision activity the principal acts more to guide and assist supervised teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan strategi belajar dan gaya belajar model fleming terhadap masa belajar mahasiswa di fakultas ilmu sosial universitas negeri medan. Berdasarkan hasil temuan penelitian, bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelompok mahasiswa yang diajar dengan strategi pembelajaran trading place memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik lebih tinggi hal ini dapat dijelaskan karena strategi pembelajaran trading place memberikan kebebasan kepada mahasiswa untuk lebih berperan aktif dan dapat berinteraksi dengan teman belajar dan dosen. Mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik lebih termotivasi, lebih semangat selama proses pembelajaran, sehingga mahasiswa lebih terampil dalam hal mengemukakan pendapatnya, sedangkan dengan strategi pembelajaran ekspositori yang pada dasarnya pembelajaran berpusat kepada dosen mengakibatkan mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik tidak dapat berinteraksi/kurang bersosial dengan teman dan mahasiswa kurang termotivasi dan sehingga cepat merasakan bosan dalam proses pembelajaran. Hal ini memberikan rekomendasi bahwa strategi pembelajaran trading place sangat cocok digunakan kepada mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar kinestetik daripada strategi pembelajaran ekspositori dan mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, auditori, dan read/write.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how the influence of entrepreneurial interest and education on entrepreneurial motivation by level IV students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Ocean. The research method was conducted by surveying and distributing questionnaires to IV level students of the Faculty of Economics, University of Samudra in 2018. Based on the Slovin formula the sample was taken as many as 60 respondents representing 150 level IV students of the Faculty of Economics, Samudra University in 2018 consisting of Management Study Program students 30 people, Development Economics 60 people and Accounting 60 people. Based on the results of the analysis, the multiple linear regression equation Y = 0.351 + 0.543X1 + 0.389X2 is obtained. From this equation can be translated that the constant of 0.351 shows the value of motivation for entrepreneurship if the interest in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education is worth zero (fixed) of 35.1%. The value of the independent test variable (interest in entrepreneurship) shows a significance value of 0,000 <0,05. The value of the independent test variable (entrepreneurship education) shows a significance value of 0.001 <0.05. Simultaneously it is shown that the value of F sig is 0,000, because the value of F sig is 0,000 <0,05, it can be stated that the interests and education of entrepreneurship simultaneously have a significant effect on motivation for entrepreneurship. The coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.611 or 61.1% means the variability of entrepreneurial motivation variables which can be explained by the variability of interest in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education by 61.1%, while the remaining 38.9%, explained by other variables not included in the model this regression.
