Abstract

This study reviews aspect of the Covid-19 pandemic that is currently engulfing Indonesia and the application of a clean and healthy lifestyle which is believed to be able to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus. This study aims to determine the level of public knowledge regarding the spread of Covid-19, the level of change in the application of the Healthy Living Behaviors, whether there is a correlation between the two variables, and how the relationship with Talcott Parsons' sick role theory on existing relationships and changes.  There have been several studies related to the relationship between the level of knowledge related to covid and behavior but very limited study that also analyzed the efforts to maintain the changes that have been made The research uses a quantitative method approach to test the existing hypotheses. The determination of the data sample was carried out by purposive sampling with the data population of Indonesian citizens resided in Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Tangerang-Bekasi city (Jabodetabek), with an education level of one family member at least S-1. The results of the study concluded that there was a significant positive relationship with the coefficient value in a sufficient range of relationships between the variables. The level of public knowledge about the spread of Covid-19 is at a fairly high level, (4.03 out of 5). The level of change in the implementation of PHBS is low-medium (2.28 out of 5). The community is depicted as consciously choosing to keep their distance and withdraw from social interaction as an effort to prevent Covid-19, meaning they choose to be in a sick role condition even though they are physically fine.

Abstract

The need for the availability of work-family balance measuring instruments in the Indonesian context is becoming an increasingly urgent thing, along with the increasing interest in research on the field of work and family. This study aims to test adapting and validating the Work-Family Balance Scale developed by Carlson, et al., (2009) into the Indonesian context. The trial was conducted on 104 women who worked as policewomen. A series of adaptation processes have been carried out, ranging from translation, equivalence testing, validation, and reliability testing. Validity of content was tested through the Content Validity Index (CVI) by involving several expert reviewers, and the validity of constructs, using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Based on this trial process, it is known that the WFB construct meets all Goodness of Fit criteria (RMSEA ≤ 0.08; SRMR ≤ 0.05; NF ≥ 0.9; CFI ≥ 0.9). In addition, Construct Reliability (CR) values 0.87 and Average Variance Extracted (AVE) 0.53. Thus, the WFB Scale can be used as a valid and reliable measuring tool to measure work-family balance in the Indonesian context. Keywords: adaptation; validation; work-family balance; scale

Abstract

The reclamation of the beach in Manado city developed as a functional area resulted in a change in the face of the city in coastal areas. As a large company and taking up public space, it must give social responsibility to the community who are deprived of their area of social activity. The purpose of this paper is to review whether CSR programs have been implemented by the developer to communities affected by coastal reclamation and whether socio-economic changes have occurred in the community after coastal reclamation. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interview, and documentation studies. The research found that CSR programs have not been implemented by developers, and there are significant socioeconomic changes among the fishing families after the reclamation taking place in the village of South Wenang. There is  a change in the source of livelihood from fishermen to the informal sector (among others food stalls, selling pulses, stalls, retail gasoline sales, parking lots, construction workers). But from the change of livelihood source to the informal sector, the life of the fishing family has not improved significantly.

This article explores why and how youth can build community bonds in the new era of rural development in Indonesia that produces local works in the form of tourist sales products. This article uses qualitative methods through a case study approach. The research was conducted in Balkondes Wringin Putih. Starting from individual unrest into community bonds that produce youth solidity, the village succeeded in developing tourist destinations in special economic areas based on tourism. When tourism development programs become the country’s priority, youth through the provision of village tour packages can create new jobs and increase rural economic productivity. The community ties and administration in the village’s growth, resulting from the ruralization process, are contextualised in the macro-political structure of the new age of Indonesian rural development, in fact, able to develop youth-based economic resilience. As empirical research to understand the development of new rural tourism, this study learns from the practices in Balkondes about a relational view of the ever-changing mechanisms of community bonding in the modern world.

Abstract

Currently, gardening is one of the popular activities during the COVID-19 pandemic situation to relieve boredom and psychological pressure. The phenomenon that occurs in people's behavior in responding to this trend, especially residents of middle-class housing clusters, is an interesting research subject. Specifically, this qualitative research with a design sociology approach aims to determine the criteria for pot design that people are interested in, as well as to provide recommendations for suitable pot designs for home gardening activities. Residents of the middle-class housing cluster were chosen as the target for obtaining data, based on the limitation of yard that leads to pots usage for planting. The data was collected from 104 respondents through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations. Based on the results of data analysis, the following pot design criteria were obtained: using clay material, minimalist shape, easy to move, come in different sizes, natural color, easy to obtain, and affordable in price. The results of the study in the form of design recommendations were then implemented with reference to these criteria, involving pottery craftsmen from the pottery center of Pundong, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Industrial revolution 4.0 towards society 5.0 in the agricultural sector creates complex challenges that demand preparedness of farmer human resources that possess certain rationalities compatible to current development and skill preparedness with various cultural adaptation efforts. The study aims to explore the farmers’ rationality and skill preparedness to answer the challenges of industrial revolution 4.0 towards society 5.0. The research was conducted in Serang City. The research results indicate that the application of agriculture 4.0 is still in the preparation stage. Socio-economic-cultural changes foster agripreneurship system amongst farmers and become an initial capital to answer challenges of the agricultural 4.0. Commercialization and modernization of agriculture brought by social changes and development have shifted the farmers’ rationality map from value rationality to means-end rationality following several development stages passed. Farmers’ creativity is still limited due to the lack of competitiveness and knowledge capacity with productivity-improvement orientation, but not yet efficiency-based. The farmers are relatively adaptive and flexible with the existing changes.

Abstract

Kampong Batik Laweyan (KBL)  is one of the community heritage sites in Surakarta City of Indonesia. The KBL presents historical sites of Indonesia independent movement, batik home industries, and resources for tourist attractions such as kampong festivals, shopping arcade arrangements, and  art-deco homes’ architecture. The objective of this paper is to analyze the knowledge domain of the merchant community at Kampong Batik Laweyan (KBL), based on Wenger’s CoP theory. The method of research is qualitative. Data are collected through interview, observation and analyzed descriptively using analytical approaches. It is found that the KBL knowledge domain, for the heritage destination, is based on the merchant batik spirit and the history of the kampong.  The knowledge domain provides a shared context for members of the merchant community at KBL to enhance the  heritage tourist destination for community welfare of Surakarta. We recommend that the KBL might nurture its domain of knowledge, to help the community take into parts of the tourism destination at  Surakarta City.

Abstract

This study seeks to see and analyze how the public's perception of the government website of the East Belitung Regency is. This study uses primary data sources in the form of questionnaires distributed to 80 respondents who are people of Belitung Timur who actively use the internet. The data source is then processed using the SmartPLS device to generate data in the form of tables and images to see the reliability, validity and P values. then these results will be tested with 4 related variables, namely data quality, service quality, behavioral, and trust. The results showed that the 4 variables directly affect public perception so that the better the value of the variable, the more positive the public perception. The shortcoming of this research is the number of respondents who are only 80 so that in future research it can be added to the diversity of data results.
