Abstract

This research investigates the existence of stock market integration between Turkey and the Eurozone. In this study, the performance of Turkey’s stock exchange is proxied by the BIST100, and the EURO STOXX50 is employed as a proxy for the Eurozone index. We hypothesize that there is a dynamic relationship between Turkey and the Eurozone. Methodologically, our research was conducted by employing monthly time series data obtained from EIKON datastream International. In order to demonstrate the extent of equity market integration between Turkey and Eurozone, a vector autoregression model (VAR) was utilized. According to the results, there is no co-integration between these two equity markets. This is in line with the output of residual matrix test, where the correlation between these two market indices was found to be low. However, a Granger causality test indicated that there was a low one-way contribution from Turkey to the Eurozone index during the observation period.

The estimation result indicates that the efficient economic sectors in Bali are trade, hotel & restaurant (thr) sector and agriculture sector. Both sectors contribute most on the Bali’s economic output. At the end of the observation period, the economic business cycle in Bali is in a period of contraction. Abstract

The aim of this research was to measure the level of production efficiency and calculate the return and cost salted fish processing small scale in Pekalongan municipality. There are 20 business owners of small scale processing of salted fish were sampled with snowball sampling. Stochastic Frontier Analysis is used to measure the level of efficiency and descriptive statistics are used to calculate the ratio of return and cost. The results of this study show that the average technical efficiency is 0.7339, which means that the salted fish processing business in Pekalongan has not fully carried out its activities efficiently so that it is still possible to improve.Factors that influence the production of salted fish in Pekalongan is availability of fish, labor, equipment or facilities, auxiliary materials and extensive effort. Salted fish processing businesses in Pekalongan small scale is still quite favorable, as indicated by the R/C value of 1.37 which indicates that the amount of revenue entrepreneurs of small-scale fish processing is still greater than the costs to be incurred in running the business.

Abstract

Public procurement issues have drawn many concerns and became a public debate because the rules and regulations are constantly reformed and restructured. Public procurement contributions in the world economy are very significant. In Indonesia, according to the Ministry of Finance, public procurement spending for 2009 was 33.4 percent of total government spending. This study aims to determine implementation practices of Public Procurement Plans or Rencana Umum Pengadaan (RUP) in Bitung City. The multiple statistical regression equation is used to process data from 47 respondents from regional apparatus task forces (SKPD) and the results show that the influence of independent variables (X) on dependent variable (Y) is 87.3 percent (R2), while 12.7 percent is influenced by other factors. The result of F-test shows 36.231> F- table  3.21. The calculated probability value is 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05. The partial test (t-test) from 9 independent variables (X) identifies 7 variables that have significant effects on the scores of RUP implementation (Y). The overall results of t-test show that the implementation practices of public procurement plans have significant effects of the higher compliance rates on the output of goods and services.

Abstract

Since 2001, Indonesian government has effectively run fiscal decentralisation as a strategy to accelerate development. This study aimed to see direct relationship of fiscal decentralization on economic growth and indirect influence of decentralization on growth through its impact on inflation in the province of Central Java. The analysis focused on indicators of fiscal decentralization of direct expenditure, which is the ratio of direct local government spending to direct central government expenditure. This study useddata seriesin 2005-2010 by employing path analysis. The results showed that fiscal decentralization has positive and significant influences on inflation and economic growth. Meanwhile, the inflation was found to have positive influence on economic growth in the province of Central Java.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that have dominant influence to domestic prices of rice. Ordinary Least Square is used to run model with time series data from BPS. The results of the study we found that domestic rice production and the exchange rate have negative effect on domestic rice prices, in contrast the international rice price and the level of income per capita. Domestic production of rice and international prices of rice do not significantly affect domestic prices of rice, while the exchange rate and per capita income significantly affect domestic prices of rice respectively at the alpha level of 10 and 1 percent. Per capita income is a the greatest influence on the formation of domestic prices of rice by the estimated coefficient of 3.5985. This condition also describe the level of society's dependence on rice consumption. The high of difference of domestic price of rice with the international rice prices can be detrimental to the community while providing a strong emphasis on increasing imports of rice as well as trigger the illegal market.
