Abstract

SMK Negeri 7 Semarang is a Technology and Industry Vocational School and is one of favourite vocational schools. Various backgrounds and abilities of students cause various levels of self-esteem possession. Based on the spread psychological scales, there were about 25% (12 of 36) of students of Class XI TMO 1 had self-esteem with low and less categories. This research was aimed to know (1). the effectivity of the training assertive technique in improving the self-esteem of students of Class XI TMO 1 SMK Negeri 7 Semarang; (2). the level of students’ self-esteem improvement through Assertive Training Technique for Students of Class XI TMO 1 SMK Negeri 7 Semarang. This is a counselling guidance action reearch. The subjects were 8 students of Class XI TMO 1. The hypothesis was that through Assertive Training Technique, the self-esteem of students of Class XI TMO 1 could be improved. Data were collected using observations, psychological scales, and interviews. The quantitative dan qualitative data were analyzed descriptively and comparatively, by comparing the conditions in precycle, cycle 1, and cycle 2. The result showed that (1) good self-esteem indicator increased from 23.75% in cycle 1 to 68.75 in cycle 2, or 45%, subjects with enough category decreased from 70% to 31.5%, whereas subjects with less category in cycle 1 (6.25%) did not appear in cycle 2 (0%); (2) high category increased from 0% in cycle 1 to 37.5% in cycle 2, medium category increased form 0% in precycle to 70% in cycle 1 but it decreased to 62.5 in cycle 2. The subjects in the less category in precycle were 87.5, in cycle 1 they decreased to 12.5% and they became 0% in cycle 2. The subjects in low category were 12.5%, no changes in cycle 1, but in cycle 1 they became 0%; (3). Students’ self-esteem, in average, increased 14,32% from the early condition to cycle 1. From cycle 1 to cycle 2, students’ self-esteem increased 14.96%. It was proven that Assertive Training Technique could increase students’ self-esteem (31.42%). Thus, generally this technique was good to be implemented for a big number of students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to prove the existence of grammatical cohesion in the research report text of the lectures of Faculty of Languages and Arts, Semarang State University and to identify the various devices used in the text of the research report, from the lecturer of Faculty of Languages and Arts, Semarang State University. The research was conducted with qualitative and descriptive approach. The source of research data is the lecturer’s text of the research report that there are seven research report. Research data in the form of text snippets of the Semarang State University’s lecurer’s research report that allegedly contain grammatical cohesion. The findings of this study is the presence of grammatical cohesion in the Faculty of Language and Art Semarang State University ‘lecturer’s text of the research report on the use of words or phrases. Grammatical cohesion devices in the Faculty of Language and Art Semarang State University ‘lecture’s text research report, which covers (1) reference (reference), (2) substitution, (3) ellipsis, and (4) conjunction. Based on these findings, it can be put forward suggestions that language users should be able to make use of grammatical cohesion in an effort to speak effectively and efficiently, both verbal and written. Excavations of various grammatical cohesion devices in the Faculty of Language and Art Semarang State University ‘lecture’s text research report should continue to be given the possibility of using other devices than those found in this study.

Abstract

Indonesia is facing problems about the low quality of teachers. Based on early competency test performed (UKA) on candidates to be certified teachers, found low national competence of teachers with the point of 42,25. Need to be analyzed various factors causes low teacher quality, including by analyzing the prospective teachers are college graduates. In this research, tested the level of readiness of prospective teachers to become teachers professional accounting. The aim of this research is to (1) determine and analyzed the influence of achievement practice field experience (PPL) against readiness students to become teachers economic subjects/accounting that professional, (2) determine and analyzed the influence of mastery of student professional competence against readiness to become teachers economic subjects/professional accounting, (3) determine and analyzed the impact of student motivation against readiness to become teachers economic subjects/professional accounting. Research method in this research using multiple regression with a design research quantitative description. Based on t test have been made, it turns out the achievement of the practice field experience (PPL) have no influence on the readiness of becoming a teacher professional ac- counting. Did not influence the achievement of the practice field experience (PPL) caused by some things, including (1) the personal relationships with students of teachers, (2) Less attention from teacher to student were having a practice field experience (PPL), (3) To compete with students practice field experience (PPL) of other universities. As for professional competency and motivation of students having the effect on readiness to be a teacher is indicated by significance of 0,007 and 0,006. Both influential each of the 43,5% and 44,5% of readiness students to be teachers accounting in which the professional.

Abstract

Pemakaian software bajakan merupakan fenomena yang harus segera dicarikan solusinya menjadi pemakaian software legal. Pemerintah sebagai regulator dan sekaligus penanggung jawab, pada tanggal 30 Juni 2004 telah mendeklarasikan penggunaan dan pengembangan Open Source Software. Inti dari deklarasi ini adalah menyebarluaskan pemanfaatan Open Source Software (OSS) di Indonesia. Sehubungan dengan itu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk membangun sistem pembelajaran online open source software dan menyebarluaskan pemanfaatan open source software kepada khalayak luas. Sedangkan konten open source yang ditempatkan pada sistem pembelajaran online open source software meliputi Open office Writer, Open Office Calc, Mozilla Firefox, Instalasi server LAMP dan instalasi aplikasi di Linux fedora. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah bagian dari program research and development multitahun dengan tujuan akhir yaitu memiliki model akselerasi penyelesaian skripsi pada mahasiswa S1 Psikologi. Pada tahun pertama,  penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan lamanya masa penyelesaian skripsi pada mahasiswa psikologi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah lembaga penyelenggara program studi psikologi S1 di Semarang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, dan data penelitian diolah menggunakan analisis koding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata mahasiswa psikologi memerlukan waktu dua semester untuk menyelesaikan skripsinya. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penyelesaian skripsi, yaitu: kebijakan fakultas dalam penyelesaian skripsi, kendala-kendala dalam menuntaskan skripsi, dan usaha mahasiswa dalam merampungkan skripsinya. Dengan hasil tersebut, penyusunan model akselerasi penyelesaian skripsi adalah saran yang urgen untuk ditindaklanjuti.

Abstract

Important issues in physical education is how to include the development of good values or character well into the process of teaching physical education. Basketball sports also have a certain social character, such as the promi- nence of individualistic traits but in practice requires teamwork. This study is a research development (developmental research) to improve the learning process by strategizing and education model contextual teaching and learning (CTL) in basketball as a basis for the development of character, especially honesty, discipline, responsibility and cooperation within and outside the basketball court at school-age children basic education (elementary-Junior school). Method of approach used in this study is the research and development (research and development). With a sample SD Karangturi and Tri Tunggal, because elementary school has the best basketball performance event in Semarang state last 5 (five) years Based on the results of the assessment rubric completed by teacher assessment Penjasorkes obtained: (1) for the courage aspect of 100 students, which includes both categories totaled 77 students or approximately 77%, medium category were 18 students or approximately 18%, and a total lack of class 5 students or approximately 5%. (2) for the discipline aspect of 100 students, which includes both categories totaled 77 students, or about 77%, the categories are numbered 21 students, or about 21%, and less than 2 categories of students, or about 2%. (3) for the cooperative aspects of 100 students, which includes both categories are 71 students or approximately 71%, the categories are numbered 28 students, or about 28%, and category 1 students or less amounted to approximately 1%. (4) for the honesty aspect of 100 students, which includes both categories totaled 80 students, or about 80%, the categories are numbered 17 students, or about 17%, and category 3 students or less amounted to approximately 3%. (5) the responsibility for aspects of 100 students, which includes both categories are 71 students or approximately 71%, of the 27 categories were students or approximately 27%, and less than 2 categories of students or approximately 1%. Conclusions from this research is the development of product use contextual model of education based on character building basketball (character development) for students to assist students in improving the character through basketball proved to be more than 71% of students who had positive feedback about some aspects of the affective anah include: courage, discipline, cooperation, honesty, and responsibility.

Abstract

This study focuses on a class action research (CAR) which tried to apply a method of Inductive Learning in a class of Advanced English Grammar to improve the students’ grammatical competence and to find out whether there were students’ behaviour changes in learning English grammar. This class action research (CAR) was conducted in two cycles. In each cycle, there were four steps, i.e planning, acting, observing, and reflection. Every cycle was conducted in two class meetings. The material for cycle 1 was ‘the position of adjectives’ and the material for cycle 2 was ‘the forms of adjectives.’ The subjects of the study were the 4 semester students of an Advanced English Grammar class in academic year 2011/2012. These students were Literature Study Program students of English Department Unnes. Based on the data analysis, the result of this CAR was quiet satisfying. There was an increasing percentage of students’ test scores between cycle 1 and cycle 2. From test cycle 1, there were 32% students who got less than 70, while this reduced to only 24% students in test cycle 2. In addition, there were 68% students who got 71-100 in test cycle 1 and it increased to 76% students in test cycle 2. Based on the observation sheets and questioners given to the students, most of them liked Inductive Learning method to be applied in grammar classes because this method is fun and interesting. This attitude directly influenced their activity, motivation, and behavior in grammar classes which indirectly also increased their grammatical competence. Finally, the pedagogical implication th of the study is the lecturers and students are supposed to fully motivated to use Inductive Learning method in their grammar classes. This method, hopefully, can improve students’ activity, motivation, behavior, and grammatical competence in learning English grammar.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar kimia dan Soft skill mahasiswa dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran 5-E((Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, Evaluation). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari tiga tahap. Tiap tahap terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia UNNES. Fokus yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar dan pengembangan soft skill mahasiswa. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan pengembangan soft skill mahasiswa. Hasil belajar mahasiswa jurusan Kimia UNNES meningkat. Rerata hasil belajar tahap I adalah 64,62, tahap II adalah 75,85, dan pada tahap III adalah 79,77. Hasil rerata soft skill mahasiswa yang memenuhi kriteria tinggi dan sangat tinggi meningkat dari tahap 1 (77%), tahap 2 (80%) dan tahap 3 (92%).
