Abstract

Abstract One of the challenges in implementing the porous asphalt mix is its low stability, which in some cases as low as 500 kg, making it hard to be implemented even in the collector road system. The objective of the research is to evaluate addition of Gilsonite and Latex additives to the porous mix, in search of better or higher stability. Evaluation in this study follows the Marshall procedure. The result shows that adding Gilsonite increases mix stability up to 900 kg and it also performs better compared with the latex-added mix. However, it reduces the permeability capability of the mix, for some points. In the future, further research could be conducted to evaluate gradation modification for increasing its permeability.  Keywords: porous asphalt mixture, Marshall method, permeability, additive  Abstrak Salah satu kendala utama campuran beraspal porus adalah rendahnya stabilitas campuran tersebut, yang pada beberapa penelitian sebelumnya hanya dapat mencapai maksimum 500 kg, sehingga kurang memungkinkan untuk diterapkan pada jalan dengan fungsi kolektor sekalipun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan evaluasi terhadap penambahan aditif yang diduga dapat meningkatkan kinerja Marshall campuran beraspal porus. Dua jenis aditif, yaitu Gilsonite HMA Modifier Grade dan Lateks dipilih sebagai aditif campuran beraspal porus. Evaluasi pada studi ini dilakukan berdasarkan prosedur pengujian Marshall. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa penambahan aditif Gilsonite meningkatkan kinerja Marshall secara signifikan, khususnya pada stabilitas. Aditif Gilsonite memberikan kinerja yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan lateks, walaupun penambahan aditif Gilsonite menurunkan kemampuan permeabilitas campuran. Di masa depan perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut terkait dengan modifikasi gradasi untuk meningkatkan permeabilitas campuran. Kata-kata kunci: campuran beraspal porus, metode Marshall, permeabilitas, aditif

Abstract

KRL transport operator should be able to create specific products in order to answer the demands and needs of service users. This study aims to determine market segmentation and positioning of the user of KRL Tanahabang-Serpong line based on class of service. Analyses were performed using the methods of K-Means Cluster and correspondence analysis. The results suggest that the market of KRL Tanahabang-Serpong line can be divided into 3 segments, namely segment of the upper class which is not too concerned with price, segment of the middle-class which is realistic on price, and segment of lower class which is oriented on price only. From the mapping results of the users perception of the KRL services, it is found that there is an associative relationships of the product image in the minds of consumers, namely KRL Express - Fast and On Time, KRL Economy with AC - Comfortable and Affordable, and KRL Economy - Cheap.Keywords: KRL, market segmentation, perceptual maps, product image.

Abstract

Abstract This paper provides insights of the current state of public transport in East Asian Mega-cities, their characteristics that make them different with other public transport systems in other parts of the world. A combination of high percentage of public transport use, existence of para-transit, poor service quality to respond with high level of motorizations are some of the features of urban public transport in East Asian developing cities. Data from Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Jakarta, and Bangkok are analyzed to develop a thorough understanding on the specific features of public transport in the East Asian Mega-cities. Several reform policies and strategies are proposed, including promoting public transport technology to shift the competition from costs to quality, fare integration, suitable financing options, and an appropriate implementation timing, as well as developing a public transport hierarchy to suit the increasing demand for urban mobility.Keywords: East Asia, urban area, public transport, reform strategy.

Abstract

Abstract Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) has been operating almost a decade and currently BIM can be visited using the airport bus provided by the City Government of Padang. Although the airport bus service is available, BIM visitors generally tend to choose private vehicles, such as cars or motorcycles. Considering the energy crisis and the negative impact of traffic, visitors are expected to shift to the airport bus, because the bus is more sustainable mode of transportation. However, this policy needs to be supported with sufficient information so that the target to be achieved can be realized. This study aimed to investigate factors that prevent visitors to use the airport bus and try to predict the potential demands. The results obtained from this study show that only 19 % of BIM visitors choose an airport bus as a mode of transportation. Other modes are selected because of some uncertainty on the airport bus service, which involves schedules and bus stop locations. In addition, a number of respondents did not even know of the existence of the airport bus service. If these problems can be solved, the potential airport bus users are predicted to reach 58 % of the total number of BIM visitors. Keywords: airport, airport bus, private vehicles, cars, motorcycles  Abstrak Bandara Internasional Minangkabau (BIM) telah beroperasi hampir satu dekade dan saat ini BIM dapat dikunjungi dengan menggunakan bis bandara yang disediakan oleh Pemerintah Kota Padang. Walaupun tersedia layanan bis bandara, pengunjung BIM umumnya cenderung memilih kendaraan pribadi, seperti mobil atau sepeda motor. Dengan memperhatikan krisis energi dan dampak negatif lalulintas, pengunjung BIM diharapkan dapat berpindah menggunaan bis bandara, karena bis merupakan moda transportasi yang lebih berkelanjutan. Namun kebijakan ini perlu didukung dengan informasi yang cukup sehingga target yang hendak dicapai dapat direalisasikan. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi faktor-faktor yang menghambat pengunjung BIM untuk menggunakan bis bandara serta mencoba untuk memprediksi potensi kebutuhannya. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kajian ini adalah bahwa hanya 19 % pengunjung BIM memilih bis bandara sebagai moda transportasinya. Moda lain dipilih karena ketidakpastian pada pelayanan bis bandara, yang menyangkut jadwal dan lokasi halte. Selain itu sejumlah responden bahkan tidak mengetahui adanya layanan bis bandara. Jika permasalahan tersebut dapat diatasi, diprediksi potensi pengguna bis bandara dapat mencapai 58 % terhadap jumlah total pengunjung BIM. Kata-kata kunci: bandar udara, bis bandara, kendaraan pribadi, mobil, sepeda motor

Abstract

This paper presents the assessment of a number of factors affecting bus travel time and a relationship model between those factors and bus travel time. Statistica Neural Network (SNN) tool is used to solve this complex phenomenon. Data collected include bus travel time, distance, average speed, and number of bus stop. The results show that bus travel time is well predicted using variables of distance, average speed, and number of bus stops. The bus travel time increased due to the increase of distance and number of bus stops, while the higher the average speed from one stop to another, the lower bus travel time.Keywords: bus travel time prediction, distance, average speed of bus, number of bus stop

Abstract

Abstrak Parameter kondisi perkerasan jalan seperti International Roughness Index (IRI) dan Nilai Kerusakan (NK) jalan sangat jamak digunakan untuk menentukan kinerja pelayanan ruas jalan selain parameter dari sisi lalu lintas. Selain dipakai sebagai kinerja pelayanan jalan, IRI dan NK juga banyak dipakai sebagai input dalam penghitungan Biaya Operasi Kendaraan. Penentuan nilai IRI umumnya cukup sulit dari segi biaya karena harus menggunakan peralatan yang hanya bisa didapatkan di tempat tertentu saja, sementara itu Nilai Kerusakan relatif mudah untuk dilaksanakan.Kartika, dkk (2005) telah berhasil menunjukkan hubungan antara nilai IRI dengan NK yaitu dengan persamaan; IRI=7,765(NK)0,0891. Namun demikian persamaan tersebut dirasa kurang valid mengingat nilai validitasnya (R2) hanya sebesar 0,3215. Hal ini kemungkinan disebabkan dalam menentukan persamaan tersebut belum dilakukan uji korelasi yang cukup terhadap variabel-variabel jenis kerusakan yang terjadi. Artinya semua kategori kerusakan dimasukkan dalam penentuan persamaan tersebut tanpa melihat apakah semua jenis bebar-benar berpengaruh atau tidak.Setelah mempertimbangkan jenis-jenis kerusakan yang paling berpengaruh dengan menggunakan analisis faktor dan analisis korelasi, maka bentuk persamaan yang baru adalah; IRI=7 + 0,066NKRetak + 3,340NKPenurunan + 0,296NKShoving + 0887NKPothole…(R2=0,571)Kata kunci: biaya operasi kendaraan, roughness, IRI, Nilai Kerusakan Jalan

Abstract

Indonesia has been developed Integrated Indonesian Road Management System (IIRMS) since 1990’s as a tool for the management of the national road network. As the development of technology and the needs of the Pavement Management System (PMS) getting complicated and dynamic, IIRMS is left behind and, therefore, should be developed or should be replaced with another system. This study carried out to provide recommendations regarding use of PMS the better. The results show that HDM-4 (Highway Development and Management, 4th generation) can be fully used, for all of its applications and not only adopting several parts of the model, as used today. IIRMS, HDM-4 can be used together as a hybrid system for the PMS in Indonesia. HDM-4 is used as the main support for an investment decision and IIRMS is used as supporting for reporting.Keywords: HDM-4, IIRMS, pavement management system
