Abstract

Speed humps are speed limiting devices to protect pedestrians and reduce the accident rate. The installation of speed humps in residential can reduce the speed of motorists but, at the same time, also can create a problem. The purpose of this study is to analyze the noise level caused by installation of speed humps and to compare noise levels before and after vehicle crossed the speed humps. The results show that the noise levels caused by vehicles after passing the speed hump are higher that those before the hump. The average noise levels at distances of 50 m and 10 m before the speed hump are 64.15 dBA and 63.63 dBA, respectively. These values increase to 66.64 dBA and 69.89 dBA at distances of 50 m and 10 m after the speed hump. It is also found that the noise levels for different location and time of measurement are significantly different.Keywords: speed humps, noise level, speed limiting device.

Abstract

Abstrak Tingkat kepemilikan sepeda motor di Indonesia tergolong tinggi. Keberadaan sepeda motor dalam jumlah besar tersebut menyebabkan operasi lalulintas yang rumit dan cenderung berbahaya. Untuk memahami potensi bahaya ini, diperlukan analisis sebaran posisi sepeda motor pada jalur jalan pada berbagai situasi lalulintas. Observasi pada penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Jalan Kyai Tapa, Jakarta Barat, pada jam sibuk pagi (7.00-10.00), tengah hari (11.00-13.00), dan sore (14.30-17.30) pada arah tersibuk. Observasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan handycam dari atas jembatan penyeberangan yang melintang di atas jalan yang diobservasi. Pada saat penayangan hasil liputan kamera, monitor televisi diberi tanda pada tiap jalur, untuk memisahkannya menjadi lima sektor tiap lajur. Jumlah sepeda motor yang berada pada tiap sektor didata tiap periode waktu 5 menit. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa nilai rasio volume terhadap kapasitas (rasio V/C) sebagian besar berkisar antara 0,5 hingga 0,8 dengan komposisi kendaraan yang cenderung konstan. Akibatnya sulit dilihat korelasi yang valid antara rasio V/C dan komposisi kendaran dengan sebaran posisi sepeda motor.Kata-kata Kunci: rasio V/C, komposisi kendaraan, sebaran posisi sepeda motor

Abstract

The traffic congestion during rush hours in Jakarta has exceeded the limits the patient of road users. As a result, the discipline and respect of road users disappear and the number of drivers violating traffic regulation is increasing. One solution proposed in this study is to develop business in the field of mass transit in the Botabek region, tentatively named Botabek Shuttle Express. To support the operation of Botabek Shuttle Express, it is necessary to do a comprehensive study. Results from this study suggest the potential number of private vehicles willing to move to Botabek Shuttle Express is as much as 47 485 vehicles, the number of people willing to change into Botabek Shuttle Express is approximately 73 151 people, and the required number of BSE fleet with a seating capacity of 30 is 1,219 buses. Keywords: traffic congestion, rush hour, mass transport, private vehicles  Kemacetan lalulintas Jakarta pada jam sibuk sudah melampaui batas kesabaran pengguna jalan. Akibatnya disiplin dan etika berlalulintas hilang dan ketidakpatuhan pengguna jalan kepada peraturan semakin meningkat. Suatu solusi yang diusulkan pada studi ini adalah melakukan mengembangkan usaha di bidang angkutan massal di wilayah Botabek, yang sementara ini diberi nama Botabek Shuttle Express. Guna mendukung beroperasinya Botabek Shuttle Express perlu dilakukan suatu kajian yang komprehensif. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan adanya potensi jumlah kendaraan pribadi yang pindah ke Botabek Shuttle Express sebanyak 47.485 kendaraan, jumlah orang yang pindah ke Botabek Shuttle Express sebanyak 73.151 orang, serta jumlah armada BSE yang dibutuhkan sebanyak 1.219 bus dengan kapasitas tempat duduk 30. Kata-kata kunci: kemacetan lalulintas, jam sibuk, angkutan massal, kendaraan pribadi

Abstract

After the economic crisis in 1997, motorcycles become a popular transport mode in Indonesian cities.However this condition leads to large number of violation and accident rate. This study tried to discuss howthis problem started and what possible measure can be taken to solve the problems, mainly based on literaturereview. The traffic data used were compiled from the data provided by PT Pamintori Cipta. Interview surveywas conducted to find people perception of motorcycles issues. The conclusion suggests that there is a needof further comprehensive study to find out what condition that makes motorcyclists voluntary return to usepublic transport and social engineering and intensive training program should be implemented for youngergeneration to improve traffic condition in Jakarta.Keywords : motorcycle violation, traffic safety, and public transport.

Abstract

Abstrak Beton aspal merupakan campuran aspal keras dan agregat yang mempunyai gradasi menerus (continuous graded), yang kemudian dihampar dan dipadatkan pada suhu tertentu. Nilai stabilitas beton aspal dicapai dengan adanya variasi ukuran butiran agregat yang saling mengunci (interlocking). Pada penelitian ini dicoba jenis bahan pengisi (filler) abu batu sebagai bahan tambahan dengan harapan diperoleh suatu campuran beton aspal yang lebih baik dan memenuhi persyaratan untuk perkerasan lapisan jalan. Metode yang digunakan dalam perencanaan campuran adalah metode Marshall, dengan mengikuti prosedur Direktorat Jenderal Bina Marga. Sebelum percobaan diperkirakan kadar aspal optimum, kemudian percobaan dilakukan untuk mencari kadar aspal optimum dengan memvariasikan kadar aspal dengan interval 0,5%, sehingga dihasilkan 2 titik di bawah dan 2 titik di atas kadar aspal optimum. Dengan menggunakan kadar aspal optimum yang diperoleh, dibuat benda-benda uji untuk pengujian Marshall standar dan pengujian Marshall immersion dengan durasi perendaman 24 jam, serta benda-benda uji untuk pengujian wheel tracking untuk mengetahui kecepatan deformasi dan stabilitas dinamis. Dari hasil pemeriksaan didapat bahwa campuran laston yang menggunakan agregat dengan gradasi di atas kurva Fuller mempunyai nilai stabilitas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan campuran laston yang menggunakan agregat dengan gradasi di bawah kurva Fuller.      Kata-kata kunci: beton aspal, bahan pengisi abu batu,  kurva Fuller, stabilitas Marshall

Abstract

Public Transportation in urban areas is expected to be main choice for people’s mobility. The aim of this research is apply value creation framework based on S-D Logic and Trans Jogja from Yogyakarta and Värmlandstrafik AB Sweden are the case study. This research use direct observation and interview to the related person/ company as the primary data, and to support them use group discussion with the users. This research also use secondary data from some journals, reports, documentations, etc. From the analysis and discussion Värmlandstrafik AB is address the value creation service and opportunity more than Trans Jogja. From conclusion, the need of applying value creation framework in Trans Jogja is to offer public transport improvement as has been illustrated by Trans Jogja. Although the achievement of value creation opportunities are not as high as that achieved by Värmlandstrafik AB, but Trans Jogja should learn about what needs should be improved.Keywords: S-D Logic, Value Creation Opportunity, Trans Jogja, Public Transport Improvement

Abstract

The most common daily trip for students is the commute to and from campus. Students tend to choose car when commuting. This preference has resulted in a number of negative effects. Therefore it is necessary to investigate the psychological factors influencing students’ car use behavior. The popular theory of plannedbehavior (TPB) was successfully applied by different authors to explain people’s travel mode choices.According to TPB, intentions are the closest antecedents of behavior, and intentions were resulted fromattitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. TPB assumes that these components are in turndetermined by salient beliefs for each component and evaluations of those beliefs.This study elicit students’salient beliefs in relation to car commuting, that could be used to construct a full TPB questionnaire. Thisquestionnaire could then be used to investigate student car commuting behavioural intention. A sample ofstudents from four different university, with a sample size of 200 people, completed questionnaires with eightopen-ended questions eliciting beliefs concerning car use. The results indicated that the most frequentlymentioned salient beliefs related to behavioral beliefs are comfort, security, flexibility, prestige, parkingfacilities, congestion, and travel cost. Meanwhile, those related to normative beliefs are parents,boyfriend/girlfriend, and friend, and those related to control beliefs are parents, car availability, number ofcar owned, car’s technical problem, congestion, and travel cost.Keywords: theory of planned behavior, student’s salient beliefs, car use for commuting.

Abstract

Abstract The parking lot is public and supporting facilities in a shopping center. Roxy Square is a shopping center in Jember which are currently arranging its parking facilities. Parking facilities should be planned with the calculations, handling, and proper circulation arrangement. All of these are intended to avoid the lack of parking spaces that would lead to queues and congestion. In this study the vehicle parking demand was calculated based on the parking space unit and the biggest difference between the arrival and departure of vehicles. The results show that the vehicles in the parking space demand in Roxy Square on weekdays only 35 % of the parking space requirements on holidays. Because there are three parking zones available, it is necessary to conduct open and close zone system and efficient parking arrangements in accordance with the needs of daily parking. Key words: parking, shopping malls, parking demand, parking space unit, parking zone  Abstrak Tempat parkir merupakan fasilitas umum dan penunjang di suatu pusat perbelanjaan. Roxy Square merupakan salah pusat perbelanjaan di Jember yang saat ini sedang menata fasilitas parkir yang dimiliki. Fasilitas parkir harus direncanakan dengan perhitungan, penataan, dan pengaturan sirkulasi yang tepat. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk menghindari kurangnya ruang parkir yang akan menimbulkan antrian dan  kemacetan. Pada studi ini dihitung kebutuhan parkir kendaraan berdasarkan Satuan Ruang Parkir dan selisih terbesar antara kedatangan dan keberangkatan kendaraan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kebutuhan ruang parkir kendaraan di Roxy Squae pada hari kerja hanya 35 % terhadap  kebutuhan ruang parkir pada hari libur. Karena tersedia 3 zona parkir, perlu dilakukan sistem buka tutup zona serta pengaturan parkir yang efisien sesuai dengan kebutuhan parkir harian. Kata-kata kunci: parkir, pusat perbelanjaan, kebutuhan parkir, satuan ruang parkir, zona parkir
