Abstract

This study aims to describe and examine the refractive thinking process of students with intuitive cognitive styles in solving complex problems. This research is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The prospective research subjects were SWCU and UMS Mathematics Education undergraduate students, totaling 239 students consisting of 155 SWCU students and 84 UMS students. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 students with intuitive cognitive styles. The research instruments include the main and supporting instruments, including complex problems, cognitive style questionnaires, and interview grids. This research results from the refractive thinking process of Mathematics Education students with an intuitive cognitive style in solving complex problems, including perplexity, investigation, construct, evaluation and decision. The stages of an investigation, construct, and evaluation is carried out repeatedly and not sequentially (randomly). The perplexity stage occurs not only at the beginning of the stage but also occurs at each stage of refractive thinking. In addition, students decide to make sewing scheduling guesses based on their intuition.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ketuntasan belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, serta membandingkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran AIR dengan yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran langsung. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan cluster random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa pedomanket wawancara dan tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas eksperimen mencapai batas ketuntasan klasikal. Sedangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas kontrol belum mencapai batas ketuntasan klasikal. Sementara itu,

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students' mathematical disposition at one of the college in Aceh Barat Daya district. This research is descriptive quantitative, the data collection technique used was a mathematical disposition questionnaire. The research subjects are 21 students of mathematics education program, the results of the research show that for the indicator of confidence in learning mathematics, 67.1 is less in the category, the indicator of flexibility in doing math work is 76.7 medium category, indicator is persistent and tenacious in doing math tasks 75.0 medium category, indicator has curiosity in learning mathematics 83.5 moderate category, indicator reflects on the way of thinking and performance on oneself in learning mathematics 77.8 medium category, indicator appreciating math application 74.4 medium category, and indicator appreciating the role of mathematician 85 high category. Suggestions in this study are expected in the process of learning mathematics to give enthusiasm and motivation to students to learn mathematics by using various methods that are interesting and show usefulness in learning mathematics and increase confidence in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Samarinda sarong is a masterpiece or specal craft that lived in Samarinda city and one of the most icon from this city. This culture should be able to give attention to the people of Samarinda, because through education based on local wisdom it is able to grow the love of students to preserve the culture in which they live. This research purposed to find out junior high school geometry concept that found from activitiy crafter Samarinda sarong. The method that used in this research is qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Research data were collected using documentation techniques in one of the most procduction Cahaya Samarinda in RT.07 Tenun Village with research subject is Samarinda sarong and research object is geometry concept form junior high school. Data analysis was carried out by data collection, data reducting, presenting data after have reducted, making conclusions, and then presented in detail by linking supporting theories. Form explore result have found geometry concepts junior high school as lines, geometry shapes, symmetry, congruence, and similarity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of the application of the CORE learning model with mathematical problem-solving skills. This research is quasi-experimental research using a control group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this research are students of grades VII A and VII B at SMP Negeri 13 Magelang. Problem-solving ability data were collected using tests and analyzed using a t-test for the first hypothesis and an N-gain test for the second hypothesis. The results of the study show (1) that there is a significant difference in problem-solving abilities in the application of the CORE learning model compared to the direct learning model, and (2) there is a significant increase in problem-solving abilities in the application of the CORE learning mode than the direct learning mode. It can be concluded that the CORE model is effective in increasing mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze students' mathematical connection skills related to learning styles. The research was conducted at SMPN 1 Luhak Nan Duo class VII.a in West Pasaman Regency. The subjects of this study were three students from 30 students of class VII.a with auditory, visual, and kinesthetic sensation learning styles. Qualitative descriptive research method, instrument in the form of a questionnaire to see learning styles and tests of mathematical connection skills. the results of the study concluded that the visual learning style in solving math problems did not use the relationship between mathematical ideas so the indicators of mathematical connection had not been achieved, studeand nts with auditory learning styles did not meet the indicators of mathematical connections related to mathematical ideas using relevant indicators related to mathematics, learning Sensory motor has perfect mathematical connection skills, the ability to generate consistent mathematical ideas.

Abstract

This study aims to compare student perceptions of online, offline, and blended learning involving 28 students from the 2018 batch of Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sembilanbelas November Kolaka University as research subjects. The data were collected by non-test using a questionnaire instrument of student perceptions including online, offline, and blended learning as many as 23 statement items followed by interviews related to student perceptions. The results of this study indicate that the mean student perception of learning is positive with the following details: (1) the mean percentage of student perceptions of online learning is 77.92%; (2) the mean percentage of students' perceptions of offline learning (face-to-face) is 82.86%; and (3) the mean percentage of students' perceptions of blended learning is 73.98%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to find out how the ability to solve mathematical problems of class XI Beauty 2 students at SMKN 6 Padang. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI Beauty 2 SMKN 6 Padang. The research instrument used was a test of ability to solve mathematical problems and interviews. Data analysis of students' mathematical problem solving ability was described based on the results of the mathematical problem solving ability test and interview analysis. The results of this study indicate that the indicator for understanding the problem is obtained by 46% in the low category, the indicator for compiling a settlement plan is obtained by 47% in the low category, the indicator for completing the settlement plan is 46% in the low category and for the indicator of re-choosing the answer obtained is 28% in the low category. So it can be concluded that there are no students who have the ability to solve mathematical problems which are included in the high criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine learning outcomes using the Google Classroom and Webinar Zoom platformsduring the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research used is experimental research. The results of this study indicate that the average pretest value of the experimental class is 18.75 and the average value of the pretest experimental class 2 is 17.50, while the posttest average value of the experimental class 1 is 40.83 and the posttest average value experimental class 2 that is equal to 48.75. Furthermore, from the results of the independent sample t-test in the equal variances assumed section, it is known that the t-count value is -1.331, which means the average value in the experimental class 1 is lower than the average value of the experimental class 2, this indicates that there are differences in learning outcomes. mathematics students who use the Google Classroom and Webinar Zoom platforms during the Covid-19 pandemic for class XI IPA students at SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. The purpose of this study was to find out whether students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying the Think Pair Share learning model is better than students' understanding of mathematical concepts by conventional learning in class X DPIB students of SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a quasi-experimental design with a posttest only control group design with total sampling as research subjects. The sample of this research is class X students of SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This study used a final test instrument in the form of a description item with reliability = 0.54. The data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on data collection techniques and data analysis performed tcount=2.28 and ttable=1.67 because tcount > ttable then the hypothesis is accepted, thus it can be concluded that student learning outcomes on students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying the Think Pair Share learning model are better than student learning outcomes on students' understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning models.
