Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences of students’ learning outcomes by using Buddhist pictures and songs as compared to learning through material presentation by teachers using textbooks . The research design used the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were third grade students of Buddhist elementary schools in Wonogiri Regency. The normality test used the One- Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test and the homogeneity test used the Levence Test on SPSS. Meanwhile, to test the hypothesis used the Independent Sample T Test and Paired Sample T Test on SPSS. The results showed that the learning outcomes of the experimental group and the control group were normally distributed and homogeneous. The average increased in learning outcomes of the control group was 5.1250, while the experimental group was 16.5000. The results of the independent sample t test showed that Sig. (2-tailed) or p 0.000, while α 0.05, so p <α meant that Ho was rejected. The results of the paired sample t test were known to be sig. (2-tailed) or p 0.000, while α 0.05 so p <α meant that Ho was rejected. It meant that Buddhist images and songs have a more positive effect on learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of Predict-Observe-Explain-based student worksheets in the fourth grade on natural science lessons with the theme of Always Saving Energy which are valid, practical, and effective in improving understanding of the concepts. The research approach used mixed methods with the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with procedures consisting of 4 steps namely 1) define, 2) design, 3) develope, 4) disseminate. Furthermore, the data collection instruments used questionnaire for product validation by experts, teacher response questionnaire, and items about understanding the concept of science. Data collected sequentially were analyzed using the Content Validity Index (CVI), Descriptive Statistics, and Independent Sample t Test. The results obtained were Predict-Observe-Explain student worksheets: 1) content valid criteria with a CVI value of 0.9, 2) good practicality criteria with a percentage of 79.56%, and 3) effective criteria in increasing understanding of the concept of Natural Sciences with evidence of a significant difference between an increase in the average understanding of the concept of experimental class science by 21.3750 higher than the increase in understanding of the concept of science in the control class of only 16.2500.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the steps to develop busy book learning media, the feasibility of busy book learning media products, and students' responses after using busy book learning media based on global methods on learning early reading. This study used Sugiyono R&D development model (2010:409) which has six steps in its development, namely: (1) Analysis of Problems, (2) Data Collection, (3) Product Design, (4) Design Validation, (5) Design Revision, and (6) Product Testing. This research produced a product in the form of Busy Book as a learning media based on the assessment of material from the experts which got a percentage of 86.3% with very feasible category, the assessment of linguists got a percentage of 85% with very feasible category, the assessment of the media experts got a percentage of 90% with very feasible category, and assessment in limited trials got a percentage of 94% with very good category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Busy book media based on global methods can be said to be very feasible to use in learning to begin with after going through 6 stages.

Data analysis results show the social skills of experimental graders better than the control class. It is seen from the value of posttest social skill student class of experiments is 68.65 higher than the value of posttest social skills students in the control class is 45.9.The hypothesis calculation using test-t i.e. test paired sample T test and obtained at a significant level 0.05 indicates that the value of probability (significance) is 0.00. Because of the significance value, then Ho is rejected. This proves that the use of student teams achievement method divisions affect the social skills of grade V students at SDN Anggadita III

This study aims to determine the feasibility of comic-based learning media media on historical concepts in social studies in grade V elementary school. This research is a development research in 4 stages of implementation, namely research and information gathering, planning, developing the initial form of the product, and validating. The results of the evaluation of comic media are shown by an average score, namely material expert I at 88% with a very decent category, material expert II at 90.33% with a very decent category, media expert at 95% with a very decent category. Based on the results of expert tests, educators and limited trials, comic media in social studies subjects in elementary schools are in the very feasible category and can be used as learning media
