Abstract

This study aims to analyze the technological adaptability of elementary school students at SD Muhammadiyah Ciwahang in preparation for the challenges of the digital era. The approach used was qualitative, with a case study method involving students, teachers, and parents as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed variations in technology adaptability based on student age, device availability, and parental support. Lower-grade students tend to use technology for entertainment, while higher-grade students understand its benefits for learning. The main obstacles are limited infrastructure and digital literacy. Teachers play an important role in the integration of technology in learning, while parents contribute through supervision and guidance at home. This research recommends collaboration between schools, families, and the government to provide adequate facilities and improve students' technological competencies to support their future readiness.

Abstract

Professional ethics play a vital role in creating a harmonious learning environment, especially at the primary school level. This study aims to explore how primary school teachers balance academic demands with students' emotional needs in their daily practices. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method in three different primary schools. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of supporting documents, such as lesson plans and interview recording with parents. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification, thematic analysis, data triangulation, and narrative analysis to delve deeper into teachers' personal stories and experiences. The findings indicate that the teachers had moral dilemmas in meeting the curriculum targets or in addressing students' emotional needs. Some teachers successfully integrated both through the flexible approaches, such as project-based learning that emphasized the collaboration and empathy. However, some challenges emerged, such as having time constraints, dealing with administrative workloads, and the lack of specialized training in professional ethics were identified.

Abstract

Problem-Based Learning is a teaching method or model that involves using situations or problems as the starting point for learning. To ensure optimal learning outcomes, an effective approach is to apply a learning model that supports the learning process, one of which is the Problem-Based Learning model. This study aims to identify the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model in Natural Science education at the elementary school level in improving learning outcomes and 21st-century skills (critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration) by using bibliometric analysis as the analytical approach and Systematic Literature Review with the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis). The databases used include Publish or Perish and Google Scholar, while bibliometric analysis is conducted using VOSViewer. The Problem-Based Learning model has been proven to enhance critical and creative thinking skills as well as students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

A teacher is a person who is crucial in helping students develop the moral character, knowledge, and keterampilan that they need to achieve success in the future. Effective learning does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but also on developing students' character so that they become quality individuals, have good ethics, and are able to contribute positively to society. In this research, various literature related to educational theories, learning approaches, and character concepts are used as the basis for identifying strategies that can be applied by teachers in an effort to shape student character. Based on a literature review, it was found that the integration of character values in daily learning activities, the application of experience-based learning models, as well as humanist and participatory learning approaches, have great potential in forming students' strong character and integrity. It is hoped that this research can provide insight for educators and policy makers in formulating a more effective approach in developing student character in the educational environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of students' learning outcomes to be low in the topic of the human skeleton and its functions. As a teacher, there is often a feeling of not having maximized the potential learning outcomes of students, leading to a tendency for students to be more passive. The researcher offers a solution through Discovery Learning and inquiry-based learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of implementing Discovery Learning and inquiry-based learning on the learning outcomes of Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 6 Peusangan Selatan on the topic of the human skeleton and its functions. The population in this study consists of all Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 6 Peusangan Selatan, totaling 30 students across two classes. The sample includes all students from Class IVA, consisting of 15 students, and Class IVB, also consisting of 15 students. Class IVA was designated as the experimental class taught using Discovery Learning, while Class IVB served as the control class taught using inquiry-based learning. Data collection was conducted using tests, and data analysis employed t-test analysis. The results of the study on Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 6 Peusangan Selatan, which examined the use of Discovery Learning and inquiry-based learning models and their impact on students' learning outcomes, indicate that the hypothesis results show that tcalculated is greater than ttable at a significance level of 0.05 (1.701). Mathematically, 2.407 more than 1.701, indicating that the application of Discovery Learning and inquiry-based learning significantly affects the learning outcomes of Grade IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 6 Peusangan Selatan in the topic of the human skeleton and its functions.

Abstract

The integration of science learning through experimental activities is crucial in enhancing students' understanding of natural product chemistry. This study explores the antioxidant potential of Centella asiatica (Gotu kola) extract as a contextual learning medium in scientific education. Centella asiatica is a medicinal plant widely used in traditional medicine for its bioactive compounds, including triterpenoids, flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins, which exhibit significant antioxidant properties. This study aims to evaluate and compare the antioxidant activity of C. asiatica extracts obtained using three different solvents: 70% ethanol, N-hexane, and ethyl acetate, utilizing the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. Antioxidant activity was assessed based on the ability of the extract to scavenge DPPH radicals, measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 517 nm. The findings revealed that all extracts exhibited antioxidant activity, with the 70% ethanol extract demonstrating the highest potency, achieving an IC50 value of 19.50 µg/ml, compared to N-hexane and ethyl acetate extracts. These results highlight the potential of C. asiatica as a natural antioxidant source, relevant for health product development and scientific experimentation in educational settings. This study underscores the importance of incorporating laboratory-based research into science curricula to enhance students' analytical and experimental skills while fostering an appreciation for the application of natural product research in health sciences.
