Abstract

ABSTRACTThe low learning outcomes of students in SMPN 11 Sijunjung as a background of this research. The purpose of this research is to know, what are the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using cooperative learning strategy give respects and matter better than student understanding of mathematical concept by using convensional. Type of the research is eksperimental research. The research population was a class VIII student of SMPN 11 Sijunjung academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, with a sample grade  VIII1 and VIII5. Data collection instrument was a test of understanding of mathematical concept. The test form used is an essay test were 8 items about the reliability of the test is r11 = 0,88. The techniques of data analysis were done to used the t-test a side. Based on hypothesis  testing is obtained because tvalues > ttable. Then the hypothesis in this research was received. It can be concluded that the student’s understanding of mathematical concepts that implement the cooperative learning strategy giving respect and matter technique better than student’s understanding concept in convensional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research is based on a reality that the student ability in understanding the concept of mathematic is still low, the students are less active in learning process, student are hardly rise a question in learning process. The purpose of the research is to know how the learning process of mathematic by students and are they applying the learning type of the power of two to see if this method is better than other mathematic conventional type. The instrument of the research is an observation check list and final examination as the indicator of understanding  the concept. An essay examination is used with reliable test score r11 = 0,91 hypotesis used is one side test-t with a MINITAB application. Based on the datas analysis result, p-value = 0,012 smaller than  so the hypotesis result is accepted. The conclusion of the research is the learning strategy applied by the method of the power of two is better than the conventional method used by the students and the students activities are increasing in every session of grade VIII SMPN 4 Painan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was background by student understanding of mathematical concept is still low and the students do not have responsiblity in do  the group task. He aim of this research model is to know the understanding of mathematical concepts by applying model study with cooperative type Numbered Heads Together  Accompanied Quiz better than student in understanding mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This research is to design  experimental with random subject. Instrument used in this research is the quiz and final test . Form of tes the used is form of essay with r11 = 0.816. Based on the analysis of data the are development of understanding mathematical concepts. From the test result obtained tcount = 2.031 greater than ttable = 1,682 . So that can be concluded students’  understanding of mathematical concepts apply cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together accompanied by quiz better than understanding of mathematical concepts students applying conventional learning in  the class VIII SMPN 1 Talamau.

Abstract

Abstract This research is motivated by the students mathematical concepts understanding are still low. This research is head for determine whethert students mathematical concepts understanding by using active learning The Power of Two and Four Type is better than students mathematical concepts understanding taught by conventional learning. Type of this reaserch is experimental reaserch, with the Random Research design toward the subject. The population of this research is VIII class students of the SMPN 27 Padang in lessons 2013/2014. Technique of the sampling is the random ways, and the selected as the sample class is VIII.6 as experimental class and VIII.4 as control class. Instrument used in this reaserch is the last test of the matematic concept understanding. The test form used is essay form with reliabilities test is ,88. The data analysis technique used is the one side test with the help of MINITAB software, hypothesis test results P-value=0,004 is less than α=0,05, so the hypothesis of this research is accepted and with the resault can be inferred that students matematic concept understanding by applying the active learning the power of two and four type is better than student matematic concept understanding taught by conventional learning the VIII class students of the SMPN 27 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research based on lowest of students understanding of mathematical concept, the fear of them to give their opinion or  answer the teacher’s questions. Also, students do not active in learning process in class VIII SMPN 38 Sijunjung. The purpose of this research is to know student’s understanding of mathematical concept by using learning active guided teaching is better than using convensional strategy at students class VIII SMPN 38 Sijunjung. Kind of this research is experiment by using random research about subject instrument used in this  with research is test understanding of mathematical concept concept. Kind of the test is essay reliabilitas of test 0,7. Based on result of data analized knowed that sample class are normal and homegenous. The result of hyphotesis test is p-value is smaller than α, so the hyphotesis is acceptance.it was that the mathematical conceptual understanding of the students taught by using learning active strategy guided teaching is better than using convensional  learning.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT This research wasmotivated because of the students difficulties in constructing the concepts and lack of the learning sources that facilitate the students to learn independently. To overcome these problems, the constructivis based module was developed for cube, block, prism and pyramid material. This study aimed to develop a valid module based constructivism in SMPN 33 Padang. This type of research was a development research. This study used model of 4-D which consisted of 4 phases: definition, design, development and  disseminate phases. This study was only done in 3 phases, the definition, design and development phase. The development phase was done to see the validity. The needs analysis was done by the teacher and students interview, analysis syllabus and reference books that already have existed. The result showed that the module which had been developed based constructivism was very valid according to the mathematicians and linguists.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted based on the phenomena indicating that the students tended to be noisy during the learning process and they got low understanding on mathematics concept. This research aimed to reveal whether the use of MURDER technique of cooperative strategy collaborated with Number Heads could improve the students’ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of conventional technique. This was an experimental research. The data gotten then was analyzed by using t-test assisted with software MINITAB. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that P-value was 0.019 which was smaller than α = 0.05. This result indicated that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using MURDER technique of cooperative strategy collaborated with Number Heads was better than that of students taught by using conventional technique in which the level of the reliability was 95%.

Abstract

This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VIII of SMPN 26 Solok Selatan registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. By using random sampling technique. The instrument of the research was a post-test. The data collected in this research was analyzed by using t-test. The result of data analysis showed that the value of tcalculated was bigger than ttable. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Listener Team active learning strategy.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research is that the students mathematical concept apprehensions are low. The purposes of this research is to how the activity of the students in the learning process of mathematics by applying the talking stick learning methods and to know whether the students mathematical concept apprehensions by applying the t the talking stick learning methods is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang. This is experimental research with Random to Subject design. The population in this research is the VIII-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang of the year 2013/2014, except for VIII1 class. The technique of sample classes were determined randomly. The instrument used in this research is the observation sheet activities and test for the mathematical concept apprehension.Based on the observation, an increase in  the activity of student learning. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students’ mathematical concept apprehension using the talking stick learning methods is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 16 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the fact indicating that the students’ understanding on mathematic concept was still low, the students seemed to be less active and unable to complete the tasks given by themselves. The aim of this research was to improve the students’ activity and understanding on mathematic concept by using Thinking Aloud Pair Problem Solving (TAPPS) strategy in class VIII of SMPN 2 Painan. This was an experimental research whose sample was chosen by random. The instruments of the research were observation sheets and a test on the students’ understanding on mathematic  concept. The result of the research revealed that after the strategy applied, the students’ activity improved, and their understanding on mathematic  concept was better than that of students treating by using conventional learning strategy. This could be seen from the P-Value (0,038) which was smaller than α, Thus it was concluded that the use of TAPPS strategy could improve the students’ understanding on mathematic concept better than that of the conventional learning.Â
