Abstract

ABSTRACT One of the pests that attack the rice plant is Scotinophara coarctata (Ladybug stink) of the family Pentatomidae, local people know Scotinophara coarctata as bedbug Land. Bedbug soil pests attacking rice plants at the vegetative stage and tillering phase  generative, form of attack Scotinophara coarctata in rice plants at tillering fese make rice plants become stunted and  the generative fese make grain be empty. Based on this, the study aims to determine the population density of bedbug ground (Scotinophara coarctata) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) on rice plants in Rantau Panjang Kecamatan Sasak  Ranah Pasisie West Pasaman. In connection with that have done research on bedbug Population Density Land ( Scotinophara coarctata ) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) At Rice on 13-14 September 2013. Sampling was conducted in the area Rantau Panjang Kecamatan Sasak Ranah Pasisie West Pasaman Census Method using Paste Trap (Sticky Trap) to Scotinophara coarctata that existed at the study site. Sampling was carried out 2 times on wet soil conditions and the dry land in the morning and afternoon. Generated from research on the wet ground which is obtained by 544 pieces and imago nimpha stadia with an average density of  10.88 and on dry land acquired 475 flat tail - nimpha and adult of average density 9.5. Hopefully in further studies to doing research on how to conduct Scotinophara coarctata on rice plants.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Garcia is a medicinal herbal that have many benefits, not only as fresh fruit but also be healing  various  diseases.  The garcia  rind have xanthones  which  maintain  and precipitate  the formation  of  erythrocytes.  However,  the  garcia  rind  have  not  optimal  utilization  yet.  This research to know the effect of the garcia rind extract to the male mice hematocrit. The research has done at June to August  2013 in the zoology  laboratory  of biology department  faculty of mathematics and natural science Padang State University. This research used Completely Randomized   Design  (CRD)  with  4  treatments   and  6  repetitions.   Treatment   given  orally (gavage) 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 g garcia rind extract peel per 25 g body weight for 35 days. The data of hematocrit  values were analyzed by ANOVA and continued by DNMRT. The results show hematocrit  values were 0.2 g per 25 g body weight is highest (52.20 %), whereas mice given the garcia rind extract peel  at a dose of 0.4 g (51.01 % and 0.6 g (49,20 %) per 25g per 25 g body weight  is impaired  hematocrit  although  still within  the normal  range.  From the resu lts obtained  in this research  shows F count> F table significant  0.05. It conclude  that the garcia rind extract increase the hematocrit of mice.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Community in Batu Karak kanagarian of Dilam case sub-province of Solok use spring water as potable drinking water well directly or paraphrased in advance. In Batu Karak kanagarian of Dilam case sub-province of Solok there are five springs where the water fountain is popularly but used as a drinking water fountain that is only two spring,  Cibuak Gadang and Cibuak Karang . Cibuak Gadang located on the edge of fields and Cibuak Karang located on the edge of the river. Viewed in terms of the availability of possible locations for the second pollution this spring. Based on information obtained from clinic staff Batu Karak kanagarian of Dilam that disease most often suffered diarrhea and suspected people are this could be due to diarrheal diseases due to microbial infection through drinking water . The study was conducted to determine the density of Escherichia coli at water points in Batu Karak kanagarian of Dilam case sub-province of Solok.The study was carried out in July - August 2013 with a two-point sampling of the water in Batu Karak kanagarian of Dilam case sub-province of Solok regency and extended the analysis of the Labor mikrobiologis Biology STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. This research using the MPN method 3:3:3 modes with10ml of treatment,1ml and 0.1ml. The results showed that the density of E. coli at water points Cibuak Gadang is 1100/100 ml and E. coli densities in Cibuak Karang is ≥ 2400/100 ml . From the results of this study note that the water from these springs is not eligible to be consumed as drinking water and do not meet water quality requirements set by the government .

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Lesson Plan (RPP) is essentially a short-term plan for estimating or projecting what will be done in learning process. However, those found in the field that the teacher lesson plan created by the lack of in accordance with the demands of the curriculum. For the analysis of the RPP semester II of eleventh grade biology teacher at SMAN Pariaman using RPP assessment instruments that have been developed from the IPKG-1. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the lesson plan created by the teacher in class XI of semester II SMAN in Pariaman is in conformity with the standards IPKG-1 which has been developed. This research is a descriptive study. Sampling technique in this study was stratified random sampling method is random based strata. Samples taken are 4 schools and one teacher of biology class XI of SMAN sampled. Sampling technique teacher is simple random sampling. The  sampled  schools  were  SMAN  1,  2,  3  and  4  Pariaman.  Analytical  results  for  the percentage of RPP assessment instrument for Pariaman is enough standard with a value percentage 63,  3%  while the results  of the  analysis  for completeness  percentage is  less standard components of RPP with percentage value of existing components is 55, 75% and the another percentage of components is not that is 44, 25%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of this research are the thought very boring biology class, so students are less active and less motivated to learn. This causes students to be low biological value, with the average value obtained is still below minimum completeness criteria (KKM) set of 75. Therefore, the role of teachers make lessons interesting biology into lessons, one of which apply the learning model talking stick with handouts. This study aimed to determine the effect of application of learning models talking stick with handouts on learning outcomes biology class VII SMPN 1 Sungai Rumbai Dharmasraya. This study was conducted in May 2013. This type of research is experimental research, the research design Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMPN 1 Sungai Rumbai second semester of the school year 2012/2013. The sample in this study is VIIA and VIIB grade students, who were taken by using Simple Random Sampling technique, while to determine the experimental class and the control class conducted the draw, so the derived class as the experimental class VIIB and control class VIIA. The instrument used in this study is a student achievement test as many as 38 items objective. From the results of experimental studies have shown that the class average score (82.03), higher than the control class (76.91). Of the t-test analysis t obtained (2.95) > t table (1.67) so it can be concluded that the model of learning with instructional handouts talking stick with biology to improve learning outcomes of students of class VII SMPN 1 Sungai Rumbai Dharmasraya.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBiology consists of many  concepts so students are required to understand the concept-the concept of biology. To facilitate and direct the students will need for media/ learning device that can help students in understanding the concepts-concepts of biology, one of the worksheets, after the observation, students learn biology MAN 1 Padang using student activity sheet (LKS) were purchased in the market. In the opinion of same student look unattractive LKS, the image is not clear and colorless. Authors had expected this led to student motivation ang learning outcomes to be low, it is therefore necessary to develop worksheets that students are expected to be able to motivate and anable students to master or understand the biology of learning materials. Type of research is the development ( development research) with procedural model. Developed using 4-D models that been modified , define ( definition ), design ( design), develop ( development). Based on the results of the validity and practicalities LKS vaid and practical categories.

Abstract

ABSTRACTProfessional teachers are teachers who are able to develop learning tools such as the annual program, the semester program, syllabus and lesson plan (RPP). In this case the teachers are required to prove their professionalism to design the lesson plans. However, in general classroom teachers state high schools in district XI Sijunjung make lesson plan indicators relate to each other without regard to the purpose of learning. This study aims to find out standardization lesson plan made by biology teacher Class XI Semester II state high schools in district Sijunjung. This research is a descriptive study, with a view component completeness lesson plan and lesson plan analyze the relationship between the components. Samples taken by stratified random sampling. Of this study showed that in terms of the completeness of components obtained an average RPP for completeness existing lesson plan component is 63.13% with enough standard criteria,  and 36.87% were not there with not standard criteria, and the average RPP made by high school biology teacher in class XI country in the district is 65.125% Sijunjung with fairly standard criteria. From the analysis it can be concluded that the lesson plans created by teachers biology classes in the District XI State high schools Sijunjung enough standard.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Module is the smallest unit learning program that systematically arranged, it can used by students independently without guidance of a teacher. The purpose of this study is to produce a module with concept map. The types concept map is spyder concept map. The subject of this research is Human Musculoscleton System for class VIII SMP. This was a developmental research with a prodecural model. Models and procedure of development was develop with 4-d model, but for something reason this research just done on develop phase. Phases are define, design and develop. This research has been implemented and tested on July 29, 2013 by two teachers and 20 students of class IX SMPN1 Ranah Batahan. The results of this study is module with spyder concept map on the subject of Human Musculoscleton System average validity of modules was 83% and practicality of modul was 85%. Based on the results, this research can be concluded that the development of modules based with spyder concept map of material in human musculoscleton system development subject is valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudent Work Sheet (LKS) is a sheet contains work to be done by students. Sheet sare typically in the form of instructions, the steps to complete at ask and the task to be performed. LKS is a contextual-based instructional materials created as a guide in conducting  learning, where work sheet sare presented leading todaily life so that the students are able to connect the material they learn to real world situations and encourage them to use it ineveryday life.This type of research is the development of research by using 4-D models that consists of 4 stages, define, design, develop and disseminate. At this stage of develop test the validity and practicalities. These data were analyzed with descriptive analysis. LKS validity test results from didactic aspects, technical construction and the validator shows that LKS produced valid with a value 88.8%. LKS practicalities of test results from the aspects of ease of use, the benefits, and time efficiency of learning by teachers and students indicate that the resulting practical worksheets to the value of 84.09%. This suggests that from this research has generated worksheets based contextual on the material digestive system is valid and practical.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Orchids live an cool and humid habitat in tropical forest so that its biodiversity is quite high in that area. Lembah Anai Nature Reservation is one of Nature Reservation which is located in West Sumatera. There is still few  information or documentation reports and  images that  reveal the biodiversity of Orchids in Lembah Anai Nature Reservation. The aims of this research is know and describe the biodiversity of Orchids in Lembah Anai Nature Reservation, Tanah Datar regency of West Sumatera. The research is conducted from March to July 2013 by using direct survey. The research is done in the north side of Lembah Anai Nature Reservation along forest patrol path. Then, the specimen isidentified in the Botany laboratory of Padang State University and Herbarium Andalas (ANDA), Padang.From this research, it is found that there are 21 species of orchids from16 genus, which consist of epiphytic Orchids such as Agrostophyllum glumaceum Hook.f., Agrostophyllum sp., Appendicula sp., Bulbophyllum membranaceum Teijsm & Binn., B. uniflorum (Bl.) Hassk., Bulbophyllum sp., Coelogyne rochusseni de Vriese, Dendrochilum cf.simile Bl., Dendrobium crumenatum Sw., Dendrobium sp., Eria sp., Bulbophyllum condylobulbon Rchb.f., Pholidota imbricata (Roxb.) Lindl., P. ventricosa (Bl.) Rchb.f., Pomatocalpa latifolia (Lindl.) J.J. Sm., Thrixspermum sp., and 5 species of teresterial Orchids such as Apostasia nuda R.Br., Calanthe sp., Macodes petola (Bl.) Lindl., Plocoglottis plicata (Roxb.) Ormerod., Tainia sp.. Based on this finding, it is suggested that there will be a further research of inventory of the  biodiversity Orchids on the south side of Lembah Anai Nature Reservation.
