Abstract

ABSTRACTMango fruit is a good fruit to use as an attractant to insect. The mango fruit contained simple sugars sucrose, glucose, and fructose and cellulose. Methyl eugenol is a compound of insect pheromones to attract the opposite sex for mating, colonize and to eat. However, the information about the mango juice and petrogenol ifman the imago to Bactrocera dorsalis feeding strategy still limited. The research aimed to determine the effect of mango juice and petrogenol to the imago Bactrocera dorsalis feeding strategy. This study is an experimental research used tubes Y. Method Feeding strategy observed were searching, grounding, and gathering. Data were analyzed using chi-square (X²) and compared to the 5% significance level. This study was conducted in July-August 2013,held at the Zoology laboratory of the Biology Department, Padang state university. The results showed that the feeding strategy Bactrocera dorsalis. Influenced by combination of mango juice with petrogenol. Best searching activity on ratio of 3:1, the best grounding in 1:2 ratio and gathering the best in the ratio of 1:3. It can be concluded that the combination petrogenol and mango juice are the best as attractants to fruit flies Bactrocera dorsalis.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Profile of vegetation is the world’s oldest methods determining the architecture of a forest canopy. Forest profile diagrams can also be used to portray the vertical structure (stratification) or horizontally from the forest. With the forest profile is also used to predict the condition of a trees of the future, trees of the present and trees of the past. The purpose of this study was to determine profile of mangrove forest and future predict environment in mangrove forest Teluk Buo Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung Kota Padang. Methods used in this research is belt transect. The profile of this forest made by making transect perpendicular to the edge of the lagoon, mangrove vegetated areas cut off from the front to the back of the mangrove forest. On the belt transect made a plot continuously with size 10x10m, making the forest profile is made with the data in diameter. Profile Teluk Buo Kecamatan Bungus Teluk Kabung Kota Padang forest has one tree strata.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPetrogenol is attractant that has light  yellow solution form. It’s active ingredient is methyl eugenol, a compound of insect pheromones to influence the contra sex for mating,      colonize and eating and beside fruit aroma is able to influence the fruit flies. However the information about the combination of petrogenol and Averrhoa carambola extract on feeding strategy of fruit flies Bactrocera dorsalis is still limited. Based on these problem so have to be made the research about the combination petrogenol influence and Starfruit extract ( Averrhoa carambola L. ) on feeding strategy of fruit flies Bactrocera dorsalis Hend. This research is  experimental research used Y tube method, with 10 treatment pairs. The research had been done  from June to August  in the Laboratory of Zoology Department of Biology, State University of Padang. Feeding strategy observed included searching, grounding and gathering. The observational dates can be analyzed by using Chi - square ( X² ) and compared them with a significance level of 5%. The research result was showed that fastest time of 792.62 seconds on searching is in combination treatment and petrogenol starfruit extract, grounding activities had longest time was 450.85 seconds on petrogenol, and gathering activities had longest time 617.45 seconds on treatment starfruit extracts. X² analysis result for each parameter of  feeding strategy of fruitflies attitude were found there were significant differences between extracts Averrhoa carambola, extract Averrhoa carambola combination and petrogenol  with petrogenol. It can be concluded that the combination of Averrhoa carambola extract and petrogenol is the best attractant for  feeding strategy of fruit flies activities Bactrocera dorsalis in terms of searching, while the petrogenol is the best attractant in terms of grounding and star fruit extract in terms of gathering is the best attractant.

Found mold type is Aspergillus is niger, Aspergillus sp1. predicted Aspergillus oryzae, Aspergillus sp2. predicted Aspergillus fumigatus ,  Mucor sp,  Penicillium sp1.,  Penicillium sp2.,  Penicillium sp3.,  Penicillium sp4. Conclusion on skinned nice one is sold at Market terkontaminasi by mold.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  A. dorsata bees is one of the bees only growing forest region in the subtropical and tropical Asia and is not found outside of Asia . A. dorsata living in a colony , consisting of a queen bee, bees worker , and drones  bees measuving morphological characteristics of the bee is very important for bee taxonomist to put some type of bee into a particular caste , in the measurement of morphological characters of  bees worker is always selected as the sample trial because the worker bees every day activities related to the environment where the bees. In connection with that have done research on Morphology Study bees worker Apis dorsata Fabr . ( Hymenoptera : Apidae ) Sijunjung Aggregation in April- May 2013 with the aim to determine the morphology of A. dorsata worker aggregation . This research uses descriptive survey method is by way of direct collection of A. dorsata were found in the location study . than  morphometric measurements in the laboratory . From the results of research on morphological studies of worker bees Apis dorsata Fabr . ( Hymenoptera : Apidae) ) in Sijunjung aggregation is derived morphological characters of different sizes in Cu a real , Rs1 , R4 , NH , Ti , while highly significant in R1 .

Abstract

ABSTRACTGround coffee processed products sold in traditional markets in district of Pasaman seen from the processing and marketing that still traditional, because the ground coffee is not packaged in plastic and not branded. Ground coffee sold in an open container, so that the ground coffee directly exposed to the air. This case could lead to contamination of ground coffee is marketed by microorganisms especially fungi carried by air. This research aims to determine the types of mold found in coffee powder of several traditional markets in district of Pasaman. The research was conducted at the FMIPA Microbiology Laboratory, Andalas University from July until August 2013. This research uses purposive sampling method by selecting a place or market sampling by certain characteristics. The result in the identification using reference book Samson and Hoekstra (1988) subsequently described. The Samples were taken by 5 types of ground coffee samples from different manufacturers as well as traders. The results of this research showed that the samples of ground coffee found 7 types of A. niger, A. flavus, A. ustus, A. ochraceus, A. oryzae, Aspergillus sp 1 (suspected Aspergillus fumigatus), and Aspergillus sp 2. Penicillium genus there are 2 types of Penicillium glabrum and Penicillium sp. (allegedly Penicillium citrinum). There is only one genus Mucor Mucor hiemalis type. Rhizopus genus there is only 1 type of the Rhizopus oryzae. Genus Syncephalastrum there is 1 type that is Syncephalastrum racemosum.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research is based on the lowest result of biology learning in the SMP N 1 Sasak Ranah Pasisie  Kab Pasaman Barat, that doesin,t achieve of KKM. Because of the lowest student learning outcome in the  learning process only uses a lecture and question and answer it, also the student become passive and minus participat in the study. This researdh is purpose to know the increasing of learking outcome biology of student that using strategy LSQ type and also Hand out on learning outcome of biology in VIIITh type this regearch is experiment, the population is all of student VIII class that student enrolled in 2012/2013 year education. The taking of sample with purposive sampling technigue, so we get the sample, that is VIII4  cclass as experiment class and VIII3 class as control class. The  instrument that use is whiten test in objective question. The analysisi of data   by uji-t. Based   on score learning outcome, get the avereg of experiment is81,05 with deviation 7,91 and average of control class is 68,06 with deviation 12,29. By uji –tanalysis get the result t count (4,52) > ttable (1,67) that mean the hypothesis is accepted. Furthermore can be conclude that using LSQ type strategy also Hand out can increasing learning outcome student in SMP N 1 Sasak Ranah Pasisie 2012/2013 year education

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Pecal is one of the culinary heritage of Indonesia are very popular. In some markets and supermarkets many outstanding flavor pecel fast food packaging is complete with herbs. The number of outstanding condiment packaging pecal feared pengkontaminan contain bacteria such as E. coli and Coliform that comes from the ingredients and mixing water and Process are not hyegienic that will impact health eating. This study aimed to test the bacteriological content of spice packaging pecal circulating in the city of Padang. This study was conducted in July-August 2013 in the laboratory of Microbiology, State University of Andalas Padang. The method used was a descriptive survey. The samples tested were some seasoning pecal packaging consisting of 5 different brands with the brand code G , S , B , C , and R. Testing is done is to calculate the total number of bacteria ( ALT ) and see the amount of gas positive tubes using tables MPN ( Most Probable Number ) by the series 5-1-1. Three types of tests performed is the test estimation, test and test complementary assertion. The results showed that of the 5 brands tested, namely G , S , B , C , and R positive for coliform , and brand G , B , C , and R are E. coli and S brand just is not there E.coli. Total plate count test showed that the highest number was found on total bacterial brand of R with  49x 106 cfu/g. In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health Nomor1098 / Minister / SK / VII/89 on the Limits of Microbial Contamination in Food, number of bacteria E. Required coli cells per gram of sample 0 food and 0 cells per 100 ml of sample drinks as well as total plate count (total bacteria) by the Indonesian BPOM about the type and maximum limit microbial contamination in food HK.00.06.1.52.40011 numbers in 2009 for the number of bacteria colonies / gram sample is 1x104 cfu / g.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Influence of benthos have be affected environment in water factor, biological factor although physics and chemistry water. Benthos compositions make be indicator in thr water quality. Study to know compositions and diversity benthos in Batang Kuantan River. Research until Maret 2013 with Survey Descriptive method. It was do effect in gold mining waste. Total of 13 genus of the benthos the belonging 3 classis, 6 ordo, and 12 famili. The highest of density showedin the station I (1437,77 individu/m2), and the lowest density showed in the station II (177,34 individu/m2). The highest frequency showed in the stasion I (8,00) and the lowest frequency showed in the station II (1,66). Indeks Diversity the benthos turn of 0,5625-2,0358, thus Batang Kuantan River heavily polluted category. Physics and chemistry factor of the Batang Kuantan River still suitable for life the benthos.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Low learning outcomes at biology of students are caused by many factors , such as lack of student motivation to read and understand the material in learning biology , students tend to be passive in learning and teaching is dominated by the lead teacher resulting student learning outcomes is still below the minimum completeness  criteria  defined  by  school.  One  solution  that  can  be  done  to overcome these problems is to use learning strategies preview, question, read, reflect, Recite, review ( PQ4R ). This study aims to look at the application of learning strategies PQ4R on learning outcomes at biology of class X student of SMAN 4 Padang school year 2012/2013.This study was conducted in April-May. Experiment with this type of research study design randomized Only Control Group Design. The study population was all class X SMAN 4 Padang. Sampling was done by purposive sampling, whereas the control determination of class  and class control done by lottery, so we get the X4 as class experiment with the number of students 32 and X1 as an experimental class control by the number of students  32.  The  instrument  used  in  this  study  is  a  test  of  student  learning outcome. Based on the analysis results obtained by the average test results of the experimental  study  on  class  is  78.68  and  standard  deviation  9.63,  while  the average achievement test control class   74.46 and standard deviation 7.17. The data obtained were analyzed using t-test. Based on the analysis of data in the form of hypothesis testing performed, obtained t = 2 t-table = 1.645. Therefore t > t- table, then the hypothesis is accepted, it means that the learning outcomes of students in learning biology is becoming more increases. Application of learning strategies PQ4R has positive effects on learning outcomes at biology of class X student SMAN 4 Padang school year 2012/2013.
