Abstract

ABSTRACT The existing and crowded of the soil population in an area was really depend to the environmental factors. The cutting of Marquise leaf (Pasiflora linguaris L.) continuously makes the accumulation of decayed leafs to floor of the plants. It enables to live the soil insects, especially coleopteran. Meanwhile the process of yield by accumulating can broke the soil ecosystem which disturbing the existing of soil animals. This research aim to know the composition of Coleoptera on the soil surface to the plants of marquise (Pasiflora linguaris L.) at the village of Cubadak, East Air Dingin Area of  Lembah Gumanti District in Solok Regency. The type of this research was survey descriptive. The research was executed from Augustus 2013 at the village of Cubadak, East Air Dingin Area of  Lembah Gumanti District in Solok Regency. The collection of sample in the field used pitfall trap which used about 30 units to each stations. The placement of pitfall trap in the field used stratified sampling. Coleoptera on the soil surface was found on the plants of marquise (Pasiflora linguaris L.), those are 18 families consisted of 25 species. In the plants of marquise at the age 1 year old, found 12 families consisted of 18 species, while on the plants of marquise at the age 5 years old, found 9 families consisted of 5 species. The analysis of similarity index toward species of Coleptera on the soil surface revealed about the composition of Coleoptera to the plants of  marquise at the age one years old with other at the age five years old have relative small similar. While the correlation analysis showed that the species of Coloeptera on the soil surface between the plants of marquise at the age one year old and five years old have sequence similar the composition of them. The observation to the environmental factors to the plants of marquise showed the air temperature was about 20,50 oC up to 20-25 oC, temperature of soil was about 18,91 oC up to 20-40 oC, soil humidity was about 1-2, pH of soil was 6,80-6,96.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Corbicula sumatrana Clessin is typical of freshwater mussels or brackish water economically valuable. C. sumatrana Clessin a shellfish known people with the name pensi. Pensi consumed by people as a source of animal protein and animal feed ingredients. Singkarak Lake used by people in daily life from the source of drinking water, toilets, fisheries, irrigation, PLTA and Tourism. The many activities of the community could be expected to cause pollution and affect the C. sumatrana Clessin. Shellfish become vectors of biotoksin because his diet filter-feeder. Pensi meat is an excellent medium for bacterial growth. This study aims to determine the presence of Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. on fresh meat Pensi (C. sumatrana Clessin) originating from Singkarak Lake. The research was conducted in July - August 2013. This research is a descriptive method, by looking at and analyzing the presence of microorganisms are bacteria E. coli and Salmonella sp. The method used to determine the bacteriological quality of the meat is pensi by MPN method and examination of Salmonella. Data were analyzed by calculating the number of bacteria E. coli by observing the number of positive results of the estimation of presumptive test, confirmative test and completed test. The next number of bacteria from each positive results are matched with MPN table. Test Salmonella sp. done by looking at the colony grows. Results of bacteriological tests on meat samples were examined in Microbiology Laboratory Research and Industry Standards (BARISTAND Industry) Padang showed that of the four samples tested, three of which were positive for the bacteria E. coli samples take in Nagari Tikalak, Nagari Singkarak, Nagari Saning Bakar and all samples contained Salmonella sp. Of this study is suggested to consumers that cooking pensi perfectly, to avoid diseases that may occur because it is caused by bacteria.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mangrove is a typical tropical and subtropical forest plant, grows along the coast or river estuary and affected by the ebb and ride of the sea. The ebb is a factor that determines the distribution of mangrove forest. Almost all mangrove plants have floating seeds, and this results in its easy dissemination by the water to the back of the forest. The purpose of this study is to comprehend the relationship between type of the plats distribution with the tidal wave if the mangrove forest of Teluk Buo, in the district of Bungus / Teluk Kabung, in the city of Padang . This descriptive study was performed during June-July 2013. Samples were collected from two research transection. In the location two transections were created at the lengths of 160 m and 180 m perpendicular to the shore lines toward the forest. Each transection consisted of 16 and 18 observation plots with the size 10 m by 10 m each, with the distance between transections at 100 m to better represent the forests vegetation. The result shows that in the mangrove forest of Teluk Buo there are seven types of mangrove plats, those are Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia caseolaris, Aegiceras corniculatum, Acanthus ilicifolius, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Dolichandrone spathacea, dan Hibiscus tiliaceus. The height of ebb-tide waves has big influences on the distribution of the plants types. The distribution successively from the shore line to the back of the forest are Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia caseolaris, Aegiceras corniculatum, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Dolichandrone spathacea, Acanthus ilicifolius, and Hibiscus tiliaceus. The type with the broadest distribution at the highest tide is Rhizophora apiculata.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In science education laboratory activities in one of the important activities junior high school, so the implementation of laboratory activities is expected to run well. The various of efforts is repaired to improve skill of teachers through the upgrade and the MGMP activities, this examination to aims to find out difficulties wich is faced by the teachers of science, implementation and result of laboratory in the junior high school Tigo Nagari Pasaman. This research is descriptive the samples in this research were the teachers of science integrated all of distract Tigo Nagari who has done laboratory activities that amounted 10 people (total of sampling). A survey was spreaded to the teachers of science at junior high school in all of distract Tigo Nagari before that it was tested to the teachers of science at 1 Simpati junior high school that ammounted 4 people. The data was processed through descriptive analysis by using a percentase formula. Based on data analysis was found 80,30% about the teachers difficulties in laboratory activities with high category,its mean that the teachers of science at junior high school Tigo Nagari were not realize difficultyes in laboratory activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research motivated by the lack of students learning outcomes biology because of a lack of understanding and mastery of the subject matter on the subjects reproduction system and the student tend to be passive and less participate in the study. One of the strategies that cab be used to increase the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework. This study in a experimental study with randomized research design posttest only control group design. Population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMAN 5 Padang enrolled in the second semester of academic year 2012/2013. Sampling done in order to Purposive Sampling. As a result it was found that class XI IPA1 and IPA2  sampel. Sampel was selected by the equal of the students mean score than taken randomly with as a class experiment IPA1 and IPA2 class control. Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the type  learning strategies Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework on learning outcomes biology class XI IPA SMAN 5 Padang. The results showed that student classroom experiment is higher than the control class. Based on the hypothesis t-test count rates obtained (3,95) > ttabel (1,67) this means that the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students in learning biology using learning strategies type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Mind Mapping fortheir homework is better than conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sambiloto(Ind) or Bitter(Eng)  Andrographis paniculata Nees., is one of the traditional medicinal herb expected to be antifertility. It contain flavonoids and lactones. Lactone compound containing andrographolide which is the active ingredient of the plant that acts as antifertility. Andrographolide serves to prevent cell division (cytokinesis). This study aimed to determine the effect of extract of Bitter (Andrographis paniculata Nees.) to the sexual endurance of male mice (Mus musculus L.) Swiss Webster. This study uses CRD (Completely Randomized Design), 4 treatments each treatment consisted of 6 adult mice and watered ad libitum. The control, without any bitter extract and treatment II, III and IV were treated with Bitter  extract orally for 36 days with a dose of 0.2 g/head/day,   0.4 g/head/day and 0,6 g/head/day. After that, mating test on each test animals treated with 1 male mice mated with female mice 5 to see the amount of movement intromisi, the number off female mated and the number of pregnant mice. The results obtained were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance). The data analysis to obtain intromition average at 16.16 control, treatment of 0.2 g with an average of 14.16,  0.4 g treatment with an average of 6.33 and 0.6 g treatment on average 6.66, indicating a decrease in the number of intromition than the control treatment. For the number of mated high on average at 2.5 head control, treatment of 0.2 g on average 2.33 head, 0.4 g treatment on average 2.16 head and 0.6 g treatment an average of 2,00 while the number of pregnant mice were successfully obtained an average of 2.33 head in the control, treatment of 0.2 g on average 2 head, treatment of 0.4 g on average 1.16 head and 0.6 g treatment on average 1.33 head. It can be concluded that the extract of Bitter (Andrographis paniculata Nees.) affect the sexual endurance of male mice (Mus musculus L.).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Many of media can be develop by the teacher in learning process. One of them is modul. Modul is a book that written in order the students can learn indenpendently. In Junior High School Students 1 Ranah Batahan is not find the use picture handbook yet, especially in System Human Digestivus subject. The purpose of this research is to produce valid a practical picture modul for System Human Digestivus. Kind of this research is research for development by using 4-D development models that modifield from Thiagarajan dan Semmel (1974 in Trianto, 2012: 94). The research in July 29 2013 to the teachers and students of Junior High School 1 Ranah Batahan.The modul include valid of score 85,63% and practical criteria to be used with practicalities score as 83,95%. So, the result of this reseach is a picture modul in System Human Digestivus valid and practical in 1st  semester for grade of Junior High School Students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT            Ladybird is refers to plant disease found in solanaceae it was able to make big population in short time and damaged the plant for all growing phase. This research purposes to know the effect of Angsana bark Exstract toward feeding stategy of ladybird. This research was using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 4 treatment and 10 replication. The treatment which gave that was control, the treatment with 2,5 %, 5 %, and 7,5 % concentrated. The data was analyzed by ANOVA and continued by BNT. This research was done in Zoologi Laboratorium of Biologi Department UNP at August 2013. The result of analysis was found that in treatment 2,5 % searching activity koksi of bumblebee needed the fast time was compared with onthers, of grounding activity was found in control for fastest time meanwhile in gathering activity treatment with 5 % concentrated was more effective to bloked the concumn of koksi bumblebee. It ean be conwded that the effect of Angsana Skin Extract 5 % can use as Antifidant and Atractan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT             Chili of cultivation will be attracted for most of farmers because the highest economic value. It influences by the quality of chili it self. Nowadays, the quality of chili’s cultivation is still low. One of the way to solve this problem is partenocarpy. This research aims ti know the effect some cytokinin concentrate to establish the chili’s fruit (Capsicum annum L.). the research has done on February until August in 2013 in Green House of Biology, Science and Math Faculty, UNAND by using RAL (Random design complete) with 6 treatmenst and 4 repetations. The control without, cytokinin concentrate 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, and 100 ppm. The result of this research shows that giving concentrate 80 ppm is the best in avolding seeds with average 5,25 seeds, 100 ppm for size, diameter, and weight of the chili.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research background is that there are plant ecosystem changes caused human activity, and we can found that cutting tree in the forest and was changed to farming area and impact to vegetasi of plant around. This research to knowing variant of fern at Kelurahan Baringin Kecamatan Lubuk Kilangan Kota Padang have been done at July – August 2013. Survey and descriptive method used in plant inventory, identification was doing at Botani Laboratory biology STKIP PGRI Sumbar. Result of research obtained 17 species and 9 familia is consist of teresterial fern and epifit fern. Terrestrial fern has many variant such as Blechnum orientale Linn., Nephrolepis biserrata (Sw.) Schott., Nephrolepis hirsutula (Forst. Pr.), Gleichenia linnearis (Burm.) Clarke., Lycopodiella camparum L., Lygodium circinatum Sw., Lygodium volubile Sw., Phymatodes longissima (BI.) J.Sm, Selaginella plana Hieron., Thelypteris abrupt (Desv.) Proctor., Thelypteris khuntii (Desv.) Morton., Thelypteris resinifera (Jerman) Proctor., Thelypteris sp, Macrothelypteris torresiana (Gaudich.) Ching.. and epifit fern consist of Asplenium nidus L., Davalia denticulate (Burm.) dan Drynaria sparsisora Moore.Â
