Abstract

New stepwise method is a method of selecting predictor variables in a linear reg- ression model. This method is an extension of the principal component regressi- on, and consists of the selection of the original predictor variables iteratively at the same time, a group of main subset component is selected repeatedly. This me- thod has also the basic properties of the stepwise method. Thus we will get the best combination of stepwise selection and principal component selection me- thods. Model that is obtained by using this method characterizes a low-valued PRESS. The application of this method is not only for linear model, but also can  be expanded to generalized linear models. The comparison of both methods are based on the R2 criteria in the variable selection, obtained R2 value results which are almost the same as those models in the case of solid waste of data, so having payed fully attention to the number of predictor variables entered into the mo- dels, it can be said that the new stepwise method tends to be better than the prin- cipal component regression.

Abstract

As the foundation of Islamic education, then the Quran has ranked as qath’i dalalah. while al-Hadith some are qath’i dalalah and some are zanni dalalah. Because of the case, so that Quran should be the main or first base in education, in which there are many verses found explaining about the importance of learning and teaching. The Quran also contains methods to facilitate mankind to understand the creation of God which is an essence of islamic education. This article discusses about the direction of Quran about learning and teaching, methods in Quran in learning and teaching and dialogues/discussion method. It is very interesting to be investigated because Quran has taught several very modern methods before educationist and psychologists developing it such as story method, exemplary method, practice and repetition method, ‘ibrah and mau‘idzah method, targhib and tarhib method.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah pada pokok bahasan persamaan linear dua variabel. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis masalah pada pokok bahasan persamaan linear dua variabel kelas VIII MTsN 1 Makassar yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan (research and development) yaitu pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran yang terdiri atas: Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, Buku Peserta didik, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik, dan Tes Hasil Belajar. Model pengembangan perangkat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan mengacu pada model Plomp yang terdiri dari tahapan pengkajian awal (preliminary investigation), perancangan (design), realisasi/kontruksi (realization/ construction), tes, evaluasi, dan revisi (test, evaluation, and revision), dan implementasi (implementation). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan secara terbatas di kelas VIII MTsN 1 Makassar. Kualitas kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran memenuhi kriteria valid berdasarkan penilaian validator, sedangkan hasil yang diperoleh pada uji coba terbatas yaitu: pertama, perangkat pembelajaran sudah praktis, tetapi masih ada beberapa saran pengamat yang perlu diperhatikan untuk meningkatkan kepraktisan perangkat, kedua, perangkat pembelajaran sudah efektif, karena ketuntasan hasil belajar telah tercapai dan aktivitas peserta didik sudah sesuai yang diharapkan, kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran sudah dalam kategori tinggi dan respons peserta didik sudah dalam kategori positif.Abstract:This research discussed about  the development of problem-based mathematics learning tools on the subject of two linear equations. This research aimed to produce a valid, practical, and effective  problem-based mathematics learning tools on the subject of linear equations of two variables of class VIII MTsN 1 Makassar. The type of this research was research and development, which is development of learning tools consist of lesson plan, text book, student work sheet, and learning test. This research used problem-based learning as a device of development model and the Plomp model consisting of preliminary investigation, design, realization/construction, evaluation and revision, and implementation. This research conducted in a limited class VIII MTsN 1 Makassar. Valid quality and learning tools fulfilled valid criteria based on assesment by two validators. While results obtained in the limited trial are: (1) learning tools are practical, but there were still some observers’ suggestions need to be considered to improve the practicality of device, (2) learning tools have been effective because the master criterion of learning has been achieved, student activity were as expected, the ability of teachers to manage the learning has achievedi the high category and students’ response were in the positive category.

Abstract

Islamic education is a way to spread the Islamic teachings. Therefore, to establish Islamic educational institutions must be a program for Muslims. For the first time, Islamic education in Indonesia was conducted traditionally. It was conducted between the Islamic traders as teachers and the society who wanted to buy something as students. The traders also conducted al-da‘wah bi al-hāl (showing good behavior to the society). Therefore, the society was interested in the Islamic traders who brought also the Islamic teaching. Educational method used at that time was sorogan. Students came to the teacher to study. The teachers read and explained their materials to their students and students heard the materials and tried to memorize them. The method then developed to classical system through ma‘had or pesantren or boarding schools. The boarding school system keep develop up to the present time, especially in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak pemberian hukuman fisik ter-hadap perkembangan perilaku delinkuen remaja. Remaja berada pada tahapan pencarian jati diri dalam prakteknya banyak mengalami guncangan, seperti ta-wuran, narkoba, perbuatan kriminal, sex bebas dan lain sebagainya. Dalam hal terjadinya penyimpangan perilaku, perilaku delinkuen juga sangat mungkin ter-jadi pada periode perkembangan remaja. Perilaku delinkuen ini diartikan sebagai perilaku anak yang nakal bahkan cenderung kepada melanggar hukum. Banyak penyebab terjadinya perilaku delinkuen ini. Berdasarkan beberapa sumber yang penulis paparkan ternyata pemberian hukuman fisik pada anak di sekolah bukan faktor utama perilaku delinkuen remaja. Namun, dalam tulisan ini belum dibahas secara medetail bagaimana jika hukuman fisik tersebut diterima anak dari pola asuh orangtua. Artinya hukuman fisik didapatkan anak dari orangtuanya di rumah.Abstract: This paper aims at finding out whether there is the effect of corporal punishment toward delinquency adolescent behavioral development or not. Adolescent who struggle with sense of identity experienced many shocks for instance involving in brawl, drugs, crime, free sex and so forth. In relation to the case, the delinquency behavior occur likely in the period of adolescent development. The delinquency behavior is interpreted as a naughty child behavior even it inclined to break the law. There are many of causes of this delinquency behavior. According to some sources that the authors describe, it shows that physical punishment of children in schools is not a major factor of delinquency adolescent behavior. However, in this paper, it has not been discussed in detail if the physical punishment of children received parental upbringing. This means that the physical punishment of children got from their parents at home.

Abstract

The Government’s policy on educational management in Indonesia, (UUSPN No. 20.2003), promotes school autonomy through School Based Management (SBM). The system of the government as stated on PP No. 55 (2007) has also organized an implementation process of religious based school. However, the religious educational institutions are still under discrimination. In fact, Islamic educational institutions face the problem of curriculum, human resources, management, and financial. Therefore, the introduction of SBM is meant to develop the professionality and accountability of Islamic education.

Abstract

Abstract: The  purpose of education in Islam is among others to form Muslim personal in the development of spiritual, physical, emotional intellectual and social. It is not only produced good citizens but also covers the formation of a complete human capital in terms of religious and worldly life. In addition, the education that is based on the teachings of Islam also aimed at producing righteous human that can meet the needs of the world and life in the hereafter. The main focus of this article is about the  development of Islamic Education in Malaysia, the type and level of education, and education policy in Malaysia.Abstrak: Tujuan Pendidikan Islam adalah membentuk pribadi muslim yang mengembangkan potensi spiritual, fisik, emosi, intelektual dan sosial. Tujuan pendidikan islam bukan hanya menghasilkan orang yang baik tapi juga mencakup pembentukan manusia yang bersifat religious dan duniawi. Lebih banjut pendidikan harus didasarkan pada pengajaran Islam yang bertujuan menghasilkan manusia yang berkualitas yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dunia dan kehidupan di akhirat. Fokus utama dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan pendidikan Islam di Malaysia, jenis dan tingkatan pendidikan di Malaysia, dan kebijakan pendidikan di Malaysia.

Abstract

Fasting is one of forms of devotion to Allah which must be fulfilled by a Muslim. Fasting is done by abstaining from food, drink, and sexual intercourse from the dawn to sun sets. Fasting is done to prove a sincere belief to the Almighty God. In addition, fasting contributes some values of education; they are health and character education. Health education is due to the fact that the body needs to take a rest by fasting after continuously work for one year to process the food from day to day. Fasting can also reduce potential diseases. This is in accordance with medical research findings. Cha-racter education may also be actualized by fasting, particularly when the one who does fasting should be discipline and honest.

Abstract

This research aimed at describing the teachers’ difficulties in teaching Islamic education and character based on curriculum 2013 at SMPN 6 Makassar. This Research used qualitative by using phenomenologis8t approach. The data were obtained from the teachers of Islamic education, the head master, and the vice head master of curriculum concerns, advisor and students. Data were collected from observation, interview, documentation tools, triangulation, and literature review. Then the data were analyzed by using Miles’ and Huberman’s model analysis through four steps namely; data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusion and data validation. The research finding shows that in conducting learning process based on curriculum 2013, teachers encountered some difficul-ties in teaching such as; they find difficulty to choose the suitable instructional model related to scientific approach, they encountered difficulties in making instruments and evaluation formats, and they also faced difficulties in the process of evaluation. But, generally, they encountered more difficulties in using authentic assessment of the curriculum 2013.
