Abstract

Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) contains vitamin B, vitamin C and carbohydrates such as β-glucans, monoterpenoids, triterpenoids, potential sources of lignin and phenols. The presence of phenolic compounds indicates the ability of oyster mushrooms as potential antioxidants and anti-tyrosinases. Searching for depigmentation agents in cosmetics is necessary to ensure safety and reduce side effects. The aims of this study are to determine the inhibitory activity of tyrosinase and total phenolic levels of Pleurotus ostreatus methanol extract. Tyrosinase inhibitor activity was measured using the Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method at 490 nm with various concentrations, which were 55 ppm, 65 ppm, 75 ppm, 85 ppm and 95 ppm. Determination of total phenolic levels at a concentration of 100 ppm using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer at 744.8 nm. Based on the research, the percentage of tyrosinase inhibitor of Pleurotus ostreatus methanol extracts at concentrations of 55 ppm, 65 ppm, 75 ppm, 85 ppm and 95 ppm were 17.6%, 19.5%, 22.2%, 25.9%, and 35.7%, respectively. The result of the IC50 and total phenolic content are 9.06% and 1.13%. These results exhibit that the methanol extract of Pleurotus ostreatus has a very strong tyrosinase inhibitor power.

Abstract

This study aims to isolate and identify botto-botto compounds that have the potential to be anti-cancer. Methanol solvent assists the extraction of simplicia of botto botto leaves through maceration method. The methanol extract was partitioned with n-Hexan and ethyl acetate solvents to obtain n-Hexan and ethyl acetate fractions. Each fraction was then fractionated again by vacuum liquid chromatography to obtain isolates. The obtained isolates have characteristics using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and FT-IR spectrophotometry. The results obtained 2 compounds (Isolate HB3D3 from the n-Hexan fraction and Isolate EB6A5 from the ethyl acetate fraction). The results of the identification of isolate HB3D3 and isolate EB6A5 against the appearance of the compound group spots showed that the HB3D3 and EB6A5 isolates were terpenoid compounds. Isolate HB3D3 is a terpenoid with the characteristics of the presence of bound OH groups, aliphatic C-H, monosubstituted aromatic rings, C = O and alkenes. Isolate EB6A5 is a terpenoid with the characteristics of the presence of bound OH groups, aliphatic C-H, monosubstituted aromatic rings, C-O-C, C-O ether and alkenes.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or not being able to use the required insulin effectively. Evaluate the use of oral antidiabetic drugs using ATC Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or not being able to use the required insulin effectively. Evaluate the use of oral antidiabetic drugs using ATC / DDD and DU 90% methods. Oral antidiabetic used in Makassar Hospita Hospital there are 3 types of metformin as many as 1020 units with a dose per unit that is 500 mg with a total use of 601000 mg 99.56%, more than 48 units with a perunit dose of 60 mg with a total dose of 2520 mg 0 , 41%, the last is 41 units of glimepiride with a perunit dose of 2 mg with a total use of 82 0.01%. Of the 3 types of oral antidiabetic, 3 usage patterns were obtained, namely 84% single metformin, 9% metformin + gliclazide combination pattern and 7% metformin + glimepirid combination. Included in the 90% DU segment or included in the list of incoming drugs is collected 90% of drug use after being sorted from the highest and highest percentage of drug use for compilation and low use is the use of metformin, using the correct use of drugs according to the choice, right dose, right delivery time, exact route and right information.

Abstract

Mung beans (Phaseolus radiatus L.) and maize (Zea mays L.) are quite a lot of food crops in Indonesia. The area of mung bean plantations in 2008 reached 276,892.00 Ha with the amount of green bean production in the third place. Meanwhile, maize is a food plant that is easily available because it is cultivated in the tropics and is not a deficient crop. Starch is often used in the manufacture of tablets as an additional material, one of which is a disintegration. Research on the combination of starch from corn and starch from green beans has never been carried out. We know it that green beans and corn contain 80% starch if they have been dried or powdered. Starch from green beans and maize when developed and processed will overcome dependence on imported starch. This study aims to test the combination of green bean starch and corn starch to get a good crushing material. It carried the procedure of this research out by making a comparison formula for the crushing material of mung bean starch and corn, namely 1: 0, 1: 1 and 0: 1. Starch making, granule making, granule evaluation, tablet making, and tablet physical test. This research is experimental. Data analysis was carried out theoretically, comparing with literature and statistical analysis using One Way ANOVA method with 95% confidence. The results showed that paracetamol tablets with the ingredients of crushing mung bean starch, green bean starch: corn starch, and corn starch met the requirements for the physical properties of the tablets. The disintegration time of paracetamol tablets with the ingredients of crushing green bean starch, green bean starch: corn starch, and corn starch was 3.05 minutes, 11.1 minutes and 9.42 minutes.

Abstract

The increasing mortality rate in Indonesia due to diabetes mellitus is a health problem in the world, especially in Indonesian. Evidenced by prevalence of diabetes mellitus which increases every year and is estimated in 2030 achieved 21,3 million according by WHO. Pharmacological therapy which cost is relatively expensive and can caused side effects from the use of chemical drugs. For this reason, the importance of finding new alternative therapy. Sorghum bicolor L. is a cereal that has high nutritional value and phytochemical compounds. This research purpose to know contain of Sorghum bicolor L. and the mechanisme   Sorghum bicolor L. as a blood glucose lowering agent. In this research is the literature study method based on primary and secondary data obtained. The database obtained is from Google scholar, Science direct, Research gate, NCBI, MDPI by using keywords. And the analysis of 43 journals obtained were scanned and analyzed in more detail by introduction, method, result, and conclusion of each journal . And the made in the data analysis table. Shows that Sorghum bicolor L. can be used as a blood glucose lowering agent because contain antidiabetic compounds, namely is phenolic compounds of phenolic acid, flavanoids, and tannin. And has a low glycemic index value and high fiber. Which can provide hypoglycemic effects and reduce postprandial blood glucose levels because it a slor digestion, slow gastric emptying, can inhibit the activity of digestive enzymes, namely the activity of α-glucosidase and  α- amylase, increasen insulin sensitivity, and inhibits the process of glucogenesis in the liverblood pressure, broken bones, diabetes, malaria, ulcers, vomiting blood, bleeding, appendicitis and lungs.

Abstract

Corn husk is a part of the plant that has a high cellulose fiber content, which is around 44.08%, so it is potentially to be used as a source of raw material of microcrystalline cellulose. The purpose of this research was to synthesize and determine the characteristics of microcrystalline cellulose produced from corn husk. The making of microcrystalline cellulose was carried out in two stages, namely delignification using NaOH solvent with five variations of concentration (7,5%, 10%, 12,5%, 15% and 17,5%) and hydrolyzed using 2,5 N HCl. Characteristic test for microcrystalline cellulose included organoleptic, pH, flow time and stationary angle, FTIR, and XRD. The results showed that microcrystalline cellulose produced from corn husk had characteristics such as fine powder, white and odorless, pH was 7.0, flow time was 0.3 g/sec, a stationary angle was 54o, FTIR analysis showed a typical peak of cellulose namely 3411,05 for O-H and 2900,61 for C-H, with a crystallinity degree was 79%.

Abstract

Anak dara plant (Croton oblongus Burm. F) has been used by the people of Sinjai, South Sulawesi for generations as traditional cosmetics. Several studies have proven that this plant has antioxidant activity and sunscreen activity. Tyrosinase inhibitors are used in cosmetics to prevent hyperpigmentation. Inhibitory activity of the enzyme tyrosinease Anak dara tree bark (Croton oblongus Burm. F) has never been reported. This study aims to find out the inhibitory activity of tyrosinease enzyme of methanol extract Anak dara tree bark (Croton oblongus Burm. F). The extraction method used is maceration. Testing was carried out with L-tyrosine as a substrate, a methanol extract of Anak dara tree bark (Croton oblongus Burm. F) with concentrations of 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm, and 100 ppm, and Cojic acid as a positive control and then measured absorption using a micro plate reader at a wavelength of 490 nm. The results showed that the extract of methanol Anak dara tree bark (Croton oblongus Burm. F) has strong inhibitory activity of tyrosinase enzyme with an IC50 value of 76.80 μg/mL.

Abstract

One of medicinal plant empirically used for traditional is buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) This plant is potential to be developed as medicine for anti-inflammatory. A research on anti-inflammatory activity test of ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) to mice with Rat hind paw edema method.  The purpose of study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) to mice induced with carrageen. The research has done by giving orally suspension of ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) in the dose 5 mg/kg BB, 50 mg/kg BB, and 500 mg/kg BB, Sodium CMC 1% w/v as control negatove and Sodium Diclofenac as control positive. Measurements were made every hour for six hours used plethysmometer. The result after statistically analyzed using Complete Randomized Design showed that dose of 5 mg/kg BB, 50 mg/kg BB and 500 mg/kg BB have anti- inflammatory activity. The result of Duncan’s Real Distance Different test (BNJD) dose 50 mg/kg BB showed that anti-inflammatory activity did not significantly different with Sodium Diclofenac ((α = 0,05).

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an indicator of service quality, including in pharmaceutical services. This research about Evaluation of Patient Satisfaction (physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and guarantee) of Pharmaceutical Services at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo’s Pharmacy Makassar period May-July 2017. The purpose of this study was to determine patient satisfaction with pharmacy services at the outpatient pharmacy Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar and To find out how the pharmaceutical service system is implemented by Pharmacists or pharmacist assistants at the Pharmacy. This research is a non-experimental descriptive research and is processed in quantitative analytic using Surveys approach. The population is all outpatients in RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo for the period May-July 2017 and 100 subjects were obtained. Primary data were obtained through research instruments using a questionnaire, then analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that based on statistical analysis, 57% of respondents said they were satisfied with the service and the rest were less satisfied. Pharmacy Service System implemented by Pharmacists and Pharmacist Assistants is already good and carrying out their duties according to applicable SOPs only needs to be improved because the analysis results use the Chi square formula x2 count ≥ x2 tables then H0 is rejected meaning there is a significant difference between variable reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and physical evidence.
