Abstract

Punica granatum L., commonly known as pomegranate, has emerged as a medicinal plant with potential antimicrobial activity. This study aims to identify this activity against the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pomegranate leaf extract is made using solvents (ethanol 96%), then partitioned using n-butanol solvents and fractionated using vacuum liquid chromatography method. After obtaining the fractional results, the inhibitory activity effect of the fraction was studied using the Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV strain and compared to commercial antibiotic Isoniazid using the MODS method. Pomegranate leaf fraction shows antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis at a concentration of 1000 ppm, as seen from the absence of cord at such concentrations. Therefore this plant can be an important source of new antimicrobial compounds to treat the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or not being able to use the required insulin effectively. Evaluate the use of oral antidiabetic drugs using ATC Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease caused by the pancreas not producing enough insulin or not being able to use the required insulin effectively. Evaluate the use of oral antidiabetic drugs using ATC / DDD and DU 90% methods. Oral antidiabetic used in Makassar Hospita Hospital there are 3 types of metformin as many as 1020 units with a dose per unit that is 500 mg with a total use of 601000 mg 99.56%, more than 48 units with a perunit dose of 60 mg with a total dose of 2520 mg 0 , 41%, the last is 41 units of glimepiride with a perunit dose of 2 mg with a total use of 82 0.01%. Of the 3 types of oral antidiabetic, 3 usage patterns were obtained, namely 84% single metformin, 9% metformin + gliclazide combination pattern and 7% metformin + glimepirid combination. Included in the 90% DU segment or included in the list of incoming drugs is collected 90% of drug use after being sorted from the highest and highest percentage of drug use for compilation and low use is the use of metformin, using the correct use of drugs according to the choice, right dose, right delivery time, exact route and right information.

Abstract

One of medicinal plant empirically used for traditional is buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) This plant is potential to be developed as medicine for anti-inflammatory. A research on anti-inflammatory activity test of ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) to mice with Rat hind paw edema method.  The purpose of study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) to mice induced with carrageen. The research has done by giving orally suspension of ethanol extract buni leaves (Antidesma bunius L. Spreng) in the dose 5 mg/kg BB, 50 mg/kg BB, and 500 mg/kg BB, Sodium CMC 1% w/v as control negatove and Sodium Diclofenac as control positive. Measurements were made every hour for six hours used plethysmometer. The result after statistically analyzed using Complete Randomized Design showed that dose of 5 mg/kg BB, 50 mg/kg BB and 500 mg/kg BB have anti- inflammatory activity. The result of Duncan’s Real Distance Different test (BNJD) dose 50 mg/kg BB showed that anti-inflammatory activity did not significantly different with Sodium Diclofenac ((α = 0,05).

Abstract

The research on hypoglicemic effect test of combination administrasion infusion of the Maja leaves (Aegle marmelos Correa) and the Crown of God leaves (Phaleria macrocarpa Scheff) on the blood glucose level of mice (Mus musculus) has been done. The aim the research to know on hypoglicemic effect that has been given of combination infusion from the both plants, basicly of scientific data. In experiment 15 mice where divided in to 5 groups, each group consisted of 3 mice. The 1st group was given 1% w/v of Natrium CMC as a negative control, the 2nd group was given the crown of God leaves infusion 20% w/v, the 3rd group was given the maja leaves infusion 15% w/v, the 4th group given the combination administrasion infusion of the crown of God leaves and maja leaves and the 5th group was given the glibenclamide suspension 0,002% w/v as a positive control. The initial blood glucose level was measured 1 hour after the treatment was given every hour in 5 hours after the infuse administrasion. The result of the research showed that given of combination infusion of the Maja leaves (Aegle marmelos Correa) and the Crown of God leaves (Phaleria macrocarpa Scheff) was not significantly from the 0,002% w/v glibenclamide suspension as a positive control but it has hypoglycemic effect at the 5th hours.

Abstract

Majority of traditional medicine uses herbal medicine to support health. Besides being able to cure the disease, traditional medicine also has side effects low or even non-existent. One of the plants used as traditional medicine is cinnamon leaf (Sauropus androgynous). Leaves widely used as a laxative breast milk for breastfeeding mothers. In addition, cinnamon leaf can be used as a drug for ulcerative lesions. This study aims to investigate the antibacterial activity of the methanol extract of leaves of cinnamon fraction (Sauropus androgynous). Characterization of compound akitif based thin-layer chromatography penampak various spots, including FeCl3, Dragendorf, Lieberman Buchard, ethanolic KOH, and Aluminum Chloride. Crude katuk leaves macerated using methanol for 3 days. The results showed that the methanol extract of cinnamon leaf has activity against the bacteria Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus thyposa. Katuk leaf extract was fractionated by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography method. In this fractionation process, the eluent used was ethyl acetate and methanol (5:1). Results of fractionation of methanol extract in the form of a combined fraction of the number 6 keselurahan 14 fractions. Based on the TLC-profile Bioautografi fraction is the fraction of active 4 inhibits the growth of bacteria Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus thyposa. From the results of the identification of the chemical components showed that compounds that inhibit the growth of bacteria on the 4th fraction are flavonoids.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Pengaruh Jenis Pengikat Terhadap Sifat Fisika Sediaan Serbuk Masker Wajah Kulit Buah Semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schrad ). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh agen pengikat terhadap sifat fisika sediaan serbuk masker wajah Kulit Buah Semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schrad) dan jenis agen pengikat terbaik yang dapat dijadikan formula sediaan serbuk masker wajah. Evaluasi kestabilan fisika dilakukan dengan pengamatan organoleptis, pengamatan ukuran partikel granul sediaan, laju alir dan sudut istirahat, kelembaban, uji daya serap air, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji daya lekat, dan uji homogenitas sediaan. Formulasi sediaan masker wajah Kulit Buah Semangka (Citrullus vulgaris Schrad ) menggunakan tiga jenis agen pengikat yang berbeda yaitu Karbopol 940, Na.CMC, dan HPMC K4M dengan bahan aktif serbuk Kulit Buah Semangka dan menggunakan bahan tambahan pati beras ketan putih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga jenis sediaan berwarna hijau kecokelatan dan memiliki bau khas lemak. Ukuran partikel granul pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 1 mm, Karbopol 940 yaitu 1 mm, HPMC K4M yaitu 1 mm. Laju alir pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 1,9 g/s, Karbopol 940 yaitu 2 g/s, HPMC K4M yaitu 1,9 g/s. Sudut istirahat pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 23,2o, Karbopol 940 yaitu 23o, HPMC K4M yaitu 23,7o. Kelembaban pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 1%, Karbopol 940 yaitu 2%, HMPC yaitu 1%. Daya serap air pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 5,57 ml, Karbopol 940 yaitu 6,9 ml, HPMC K4M yaitu 6 ml. pH ketiga jenis pengikat yaitu Na.CMC 5, Karbopol 940 6, dan HPMC K4M 6. Daya sebar pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 5,57 mm/g, Karbopol 940 3,23 mm/g, HMPC yaitu 2,28 mm/g. Daya lekat pengikat Na.CMC yaitu 27 menit, Karbopol 940 yaitu 29 menit, HPMC K4M yaitu 23 menit. Homogenitas ketiga jenis pengikat yaitu homogen. Secara keseluruhan hasil pengamatan menunjukkan ketiga jenis pengikat tidak mempengaruhi sifat fisika sediaan serta ketiga jenispengikat baik untuk digunakan sebagai pengikat sediaan.

Abstract

Anak Dara (Croton oblongusBurm f.) merupakan tanaman asli Indonesia. Telah dilakukan penelitian Uji Aktivitas Penghambatan Fraksi Non Polar Ekstrak Klika Anak Dara (Croton oblongusBurm f.) terhadap Sel Kanker HeLa dengan tujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas penghambatan fraksi non polar ekstrak Klika Anak Dara (Croton oblongusBurm f.) terhadap sel kanker HeLa dengan metode MTT. Fraksi non polar ekstrak klika anak dara (Croton oblongus Burm f.)diperolehfraksi A, B dan C, dibuatdengankonsentasi 1000 ppm; 500 ppm; 250 ppm; 125 ppm; 62,5 ppm; 31,25 ppm; dan 15,625 ppm, sertadigunakankontrolseldankontrol MTT. Abstract

Telah dilakukan formulasi, uji stabilitas fisik, dan aktivitas sediaan krim susu kuda Sumbawa dengan emulgator nonionik (kombinasi tween 60 dan span 60) dan anionik (kombinasi asam stearat dan TEA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis dan konsentrasi emulgator yang baik terhadap kestabilan fisik krim susu kuda Sumbawa. Uji stabilitas sediaan krim ditentukan berdasarkan pengamatan organoleptik, tipe emulsi, volume kriming, viskositas, tetes terdispersi, daya sebar dan pHpada kondisi sebelum dan setelah penyimpanan dipercepat pada suhu 5ºC dan 35ºC. uji aktivitas pada krim susu kuda Sumbawa dengan emulgator anionik konsentrasi 2%, 3% dan 4% dan nonionik konsentrasi  2%, 3% dan 4%.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa formula krim susu kuda Sumbawa yang menggunakan emulgator nonionik mengalami pemisahan fase setelah penyimpanan dipercepat. Kondisi penyimpanan dipercepat memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap viskositas tiap krim.Emulgator anionik dengan konsentrasi 2%, 3%, dan 4% dapat membentuk krim dengan stabilitas fisik yang baik, dan diamati ketiga konsentrasi diperoleh stabilitas fisik yang baik pada emulgator anionik dengan konsentrasi 4% pada uji stabilitas fisik, organoleptik, pengenceran, dispersi zat warna, volume kriming, daya sebar, dan viskositas.

Abstract

A researched has been done about Toxicity Test Fraction of Ethyl Acetat Extract Kapulaga leaves (Amomum Compactum Soland) against larvae of Artemia Salina Leach by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) Method. This research aimed do determine the effect of the toxicity of extractsand fractions result of Kapulaga leaves (Amomum Compactum Soland) by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test Method against larvae of Artemia salina Leach. The research begins with the selection of the sample, the sample drying and extraction by maceration using solvent ethanol 96%. Extract concentrated by rotary evaporator. The extract obtained further partitioned in advance using the ethyl solvent and later obtained ethyl soluble extract and ethyl insoluble extracts. Then extract the ethanol, soluble ethyl extract and insoluble ethyl extract toxicity first tested with the method of Brine Shrimp Lethality Test. The results showed extracts have high levels of toxic substances against larvae of Artemia salina Leach with LC50 values of 93,32 μg/ml. Sample were fractionated on a column of liquid chromatography in vacuo to give five fractions, namely the combined fractions A, B, C, D and E. Each fraction was tested for toxicity and fraction D has achieved results that have high toxic levels the other fraction compared with LC50 values of 74,13 μg / ml. Part of the identification results showed the presence of steroids, flavonoids and compounds of the class of phenol.

Abstract

Ikan terbang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat di daerah pantai, selain itu sangat mudah diolah serta memiliki kandungan zat protein. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kadar Protein Daging Ikan Terbang (Hyrundithys oxycephalus) Sebagai Substitusi Tepung dalam Formulasi Biskuit. Uji kesukaan dilakukan dengan pengujian organoleptik berdasarkan skala hedonic dan pengujian protein dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Kjehdal. Biskuit dengan substitusi daging ikan terbang (Hyrundithys oxycephalus) dapat diterima oleh konsumen baik secara organoleptik dan proteinnya. Kandungan protein daging ikan terbang dalam biskuit adalah 12,54%, kadar abu 0,78% dan kadar air 2,21% sesuai syarat mutu standar biskuit oleh SNI tahun 2009.
