Abstract

The Jelita Rubrik of Riau Pos Newspaper displays information related to the hobbies, achievments and contributions of young women in Riau Province. The rubric also provides profile and photographs of objects that support the text. In writing, the writer tends to describe and amphasize the women physical aspect.  Rubric Jelita is published in eight editions, and five of them raise the topic of the world of beauty. The study aims to determine women representation in the subject-object position, women representation in thewriter-reader position, and the commodification proccess in the Rubrc Jelita.This study uses a qualitative method with the Sara Mills Discourse Analysis’s which focuses on feminism, and how actors was seen in text, and also  Vincent Mosco’s Commodity Theory which related to proccess of commodification in Rubric Jelita. The paper examined using the data consist of documentation, observation, and interviewers of 6 (six) peoples. The subject in this study is Riau Pos who became the informant, with 5 (five) news as the analysist unit. This study uses two data validity checking techniques, namely triangulation source and triangulation method.The result showes that, First, women became the object of all discourses, and found three ouf of five discourses subject positioned themselves as women, and two discourses positioned themself as men. From the whole discourse, the subject seems to give the object an opportunity to present herself. Second, subject-object positioning also influences the position of writer-reader. Third, the visible commodification of content is the inspiring story of women about their contributions and achievments, especially in the pageant world. the writer  involved is quite careful in writing and gives the object the opportunity to describe herself. In the commodification of audience, there is a soft selling and offer of household advertisements on the Rubric Jelita. Keyword: Commodification, Feminism, Sara Mills, Riau Pos Newspaper

Abstract

Pekanbaru Mall is the first shopping mall that stands in Pekanbaru City. Pekanbaru Mall opened on 8 November 2003, immediately becoming the largest mall in Pekanbaru at that time. In 2013 Mal Mall did a rebranding on the mall logo, which changes the logo also changed the vision and mission of the Mal Mall in line with its brand, namely "Mobile, IT, and Fashion Center". After rebranding Pekanbaru Mall conducted a marketing communication strategy to introduce the brand and also increase the number of visitors. The purpose of this study was to determine the marketing communication strategy and the factors driving rebranding.This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with data collection techniques, namely through interviews, observation, and documentation, with the number of informants totaling 8 people according to the criteria determined through purposive sampling. The data analysis technique in this research is using the Miles and Huberman model and the data validity checking technique is triangulation.  The results showed that, marketing communication strategies in rebranding Mal Pekanbaru on the brand "Mobile, IT, and Fashion Center" refers to the objectives of marketing communication, segmentation and targeting, company differentiation and positioning. Marketing communication strategy in Pekanbaru Mall uses a marketing communication mix, in the form of advertising activities, sales promotions, and events. Factors driving the rebranding in Pekanbaru Mall are, the factors of leader turnover, market saturation, and finally the company's new vision. The obstacles in rebranding the mall logo adjustment with the existing tenants in the mall and also the introduction of new logos with consumers or the public.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a mental health problem in various countries, including Indonesia. In Pekanbaru, based on data obtained from the Tampan Mental Hospital Medical Record, there was an increase in outpatients and inpatients at the Tampan Mental Hospital, where the most cases from year to year were Paranoid Schizophrenia. There are three therapies performed by nurses to treat Paranoid Schizophrenia patients in Siak Room and Indragiri Room at the Tampan Mental Hospital. First, by pharmacological therapy. Second, with nursing care and third, with group activity therapy based on the planned Implementation Strategy. The three therapies use therapeutic communication in its activities.This study aims to determine the therapeutic communication process in pharmacological therapy, nursing care and group activity therapy in Siak Room and Indragiri Room at the Tampan Mental Hospital. The method in this study is qualitative which describes the purpose of the study and is interpreted narratively. The informants in this study were 3 Nurses from Siak Room, 3 Nurses from Indragiri Room, Heads of Siak Room, Heads of Indragiri Room, 2 Patients from of Siak Room, 2 Patients from Indragiri Room and Heads of Psychiatric Nursing Departments with a purposive technique. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation with the data validity technique using an extension of participation and triangulation.The results showed that in pharmacological therapy, there were four phases in the therapeutic communication used, namely the pre-interaction phase, the orientation phase, the work phase and the termination phase. In nursing care, four phases in therapeutic communication occur in assessment and implementation. Whereas the communication in nursing diagnosis, intervention and evaluation are only written. The nursing care used is hallucinatory management. In the therapy of group activities, Paranoid Schizophrenia patients use perception stimulation therapy. There are five implementation strategies in perception stimulation therapy, namely recognizing hallucinations, controlling hallucinations by rebuking, controlling hallucinations by carrying out activities, controlling hallucinations by conversing and controlling hallucinations by complying with medication. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of incentives and social security on the performance of shared service PT. Telkom Access Riau Area. The independent variable consists of incentives (X1) and social security (X2). While what is used as the dependent variable (Y) is performance. The study used a questionnaire with a measurement scale using a Likert scale. The analysis technique used is simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination test, t test, and f test. Data analysis using linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS 16 software.The population in this study were 37 employees of the shared service unit of PT. Telkom Access Riau Riau Area where the whole is sampled using the census method. From the results of tests conducted indicate that incentives have a positive and significant effect on performance, social security has a positive and significant effect on performance, and incentives and social security have simultaneous effects on performance. Keywords: Incentives, Social Security, Performance.

Abstract

Shopee is an e-commerce application online to do the buying and selling via smartphone with a variety of convenience. Shopee as e-commerce company that is currently a trend in society. The purpose of this research was to know how big the influence of exposure to advertising e-commerce shopee version baby shark on television against interest buy student faculty of social and political sciences of the University of riau.             This research was carried out at the Faculty of social and political sciences of the University of Riau. This research using quantitative methods, with the dissemination of the questionnaire. The samples on this research totalled 166 respondents using the technique of Sampling Purposive. Data collection techniques used are kuesinoner and documentation. The data processing is performed with the SPSS program version 23. The results obtained showed that this research has the significance of these numbers in which 0.000 < 0.05 means that accepted and rejected, it means that the influence between e-commerce advertising exposure Shopee version 'baby shark' on television against the interest to buy Students From the University of Riau and R values indicate a correlation between independent variables with the dependent 0.672 and from the model summary of known value of 0.452 which means that influence between exposure to advertising e-commerce purchasing interest Shopee students, with the influence of 45.2% were categorized.

Abstract

Divorce cases are not new to people's lives. Over time, various problems arise in a domestic relationship. Religious justice becomes the last solution when the meeting point of the problem never gets. Based on data obtained from the Clerk of the Bangkinang Religious Court, in 2018 there were 1197 cases that were entered and processed. divorce is in first place with 749 cases, then followed by divorce as many as 321 cases. In 2018 out of 223 cases mediated, only 6 cases were successfully mediated. In practice, mediators at the Bangkinang Religious Court used persuasive communication techniques that were expected to touch hearts and feelings for both parties who were litigating.               This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with a persuasive communication model by Applebaum and Anatol. The object of research in this research is how the mediator's persuasive communication process in the Bangkinang Religious Court in an effort to reduce the divorce rate and how the persuasive communication model used by the mediator in the Bangkinang Religious Court. The data analysis technique used in this study is the qualitative data analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman models.               The results showed that the mediation process in the Bangkinang Religious Court was not necessarily carried out in all cases, the various stages of the lawsuit request made, processed, tried, mediated and decided were very long and winding. The persuasive communication efforts and approaches used by the mediator of the Bangkinang religious court in activities mediation begins by giving a good first impression of the mediator to both parties, after that the mediator also seeks to eliminate the distance and boundaries with both parties, after which the mediator will open access to communication with both parties, when access to communication has been created, the steps then the mediator will deliver a persuasive message in accordance with the problems that are befalling both parties, the final stage is that the mediator will provide an opportunity for both parties to respond to the message. From the author's observations, the persuasive efforts made are maximized as well as the communication model used. Various messages and advice given to the plaintiff and the defendant were constrained because the intention to separate was very unanimous.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Hotel New Hollywood Pekanbaru located at Jalan Kuantan Raya No. 120, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of service quality and pricing on consumer satisfaction at Hotel New Hollywood Pekanbaru partially and simultaneously. In this research the method used is quantitative descriptive analysis with SPSS program. The population in this study were all visitors staying at the Hotel New Hollywood Pekanbaru in the last year of 2018 totaling 23,585 people. Where the samples in this study were Hotel New Hollywood Pekanbaru consumers as many as 100 respondents. To determine the sample using the Slovin formula, a non-probability sampling technique with an accidental sampling technique. Data collection techniques through interviews and questionnaires, types and sources of data using primary data and secondary data, measurement techniques using a Likert scale.From the analysis of data which includes validity, reliability, simple linear analysis, multiple linear analysis, determination analysis and significance test with t test (partial test), and F test (simultaneous). The results of this study indicate that the results of the first t test hypothesis testing, service quality on customer satisfaction is t arithmetic (6,782)> t table (1,6605) means that service quality has a significant effect on customer satisfaction. second, price fixing on customer satisfaction is t arithmetic (6,965)> t table (1,6605) means that price setting has a significant effect on customer satisfaction. F Test Results of service quality have a significant effect on customer satisfaction, namely F arithmetic (33,737)> F tables (3,09). This means that service quality and price setting simultaneously have a significant effect on customer satisfaction at Hotel New Hollywood Pekanbaru. Keywords: Service Quality, Pricing, Consumer Satisfaction

Abstract

Syria is one of the countries affected by a wave of revolution demanding changes in the Middle East region, or commonly known as the Arab Spring. Among those countries, Syria is a country with the highest complexity and escalation of conflicts among other affected countries. Many emerging actors who have their own interests in this conflict, both domestic and international actors, including those who will be discussed in this study are the Sunni Axis and Harakah Ahrar Syam Al Islamiyyah.             This research will discuss the motivation of Sunni Axis countries led by Saudi Arabia to support the rebel group named Harakah Ahrar Syam Islamiyyah and various forms of support assistance in the 2015-2016 Syrian War. This research using the perspective of Constructivism with Securitization and Regional Security Complex Theory and the level analysis of this research is Nation State. This research uses library research as a data collection method and focusing at the motivation of Sunni Axis states that support Harakah Ahrar Syam Al Islamiyyah.             Researcher have found that Sunni Axis states are supporting the Harakah Ahrar Syam Al Islamiyyah as a means against Iran’s influences in the region with financial, arms, and political support.

Abstract

Humans as social beings need other people to interact with each other. This is a fact that most human persons are formed from the results of social interaction with each other. Communication can be carried out directly verbally without going through media intermediaries between two people or groups actively and interactively known as interpersonal communication. Human resources are the most important assets in an organization, because they are the source that controls the organization and maintains and develops the organization in the face of various demands of the times. Therefore there is a formal description of the behavior that must be done (intra-role), and that is not formally described by the employee (extra-role). This is commonly known as Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence interpersonal communication has on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) on employees of the Public Works Department and Spatial Planning of Riau Province.The method used in this study is an explanatory quantitative method, with data collection techniques through questionnaires. The location of the study was conducted at the Office of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of Riau Province, located on Jl. S.M. AMIN No. 92. The total sample of this study was 76 respondents. Sampling using accidental sampling technique. The researcher used simple linear regression analysis, to find out how much influence the two variables had. Management of questionnaire data is done using the Windows version 23 Product and Service Solution (SPSS) Statistics program.The results obtained from a simple linear regression analysis in this study is that there is an influence between interpersonal communication on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) on employees of the Public Works Department and Spatial Planning of Riau Province amounting to 32.6% which are categorized as weak while the rest are influenced by other factors. not in this study.Keyword : representation, feminsm, semiotic

Abstract

This research aims to explain Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Policy towards Yemen’s Conflict under King Salman’s Era. The research uses the Perspective of Neorealism which believes that international system is anarchy, cooperation build up to maximize the power of the country to survive in the anarchy situation. Theory of decision making process that used in this research notice to explain Saudi Arabia’s decision making process to get involve in Yemen’s conflict. This research is also supported by the concept of intervention which notice to explain the type of intervention that Saudi Arabia used when doing the intervention on Yemen’s conflict under King Salman’s era.The method used in this research from the measurement of the data is qualitative research method, and from the way of processing data is explanative method. Furthermore, the technique of data analysis is based on data from literature studies with the consideration that the data is capable in providing information regarding the problem under research.The results of the research explains that the reason Saudi Arabia intervened by doing Operation Decisive Storm, Operation Restoring Hope and Operation Golden Victory in the Yemen conflict was because Saudi Arabia wanted to prevent the expansion of Yemen’s conflict.
