Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) cooperation on Indonesia-Tiongkok foreign trade during the period 2022-2023. The main issue examined is how RCEP influences Indonesia-Tiongkok foreign trade from 2020 to 2023. As the world’s largest free trade agreement involving 15 member countries, RCEP is expected to reduce trade barriers and enhance regional economic integration. Based on the theory of regional economic integration, this study focuses on how RCEP, as the world’s largest free trade agreement, functions to reduce trade barriers and improve economic efficiency in the Asia-Pacific region The methodology used is a qualitative descriptive method with secondary data analysis. Data were obtained from international trade reports, export-import statistics, and sesuai t policy documents, which were analyzed to describe the dynamics of Indonesia-Tiongkok trade during the study period. The results indicate that the implementation of RCEP has had a positive impact on Indonesia-Tiongkok trade relations, as evidenced by a significant increase in bilateral trade value, especially in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors. The elimination of tariffs and simplification of trade procedures within the RCEP framework have expanded market access for Indonesian products in Tiongkok. However, challenges such as trade balance imbalances and competition between domestic products and Chinese imports remain. In conclusion, RCEP contributes to strengthening trade relations through increased efficiency and product diversification, but national strategies are needed to improve the competitiveness of local products and address its negative impacts. Abstract

Rubber is an elastic and dense plantation sector material. Commodities used in everyday equipment include natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Indonesia's rubber plantations are dominated by state-owned smallholder plantations and the main producers excel in export and import activities. Indonesia as a form of competitiveness has the aim of winning competition in international trade. Therefore, Indonesia plays an important role in strengthening economic development and exporting rubber to Germany. This research is qualitative research with secondary data collection taken from journals, news and official websites. This thesis is in accordance with the theme of using international trade theory put forward by Adam Smith and David Ricardo with a focus on the economic elements of international trade. Indonesia exports rubber to Germany as a form of international trade to increase competitiveness and promote the welfare of Indonesian rubber commodities. Indonesia is ranked second with the largest rubber commodity in the world. However, the causes related to the decline in Indonesian rubber commodities are experiencing obstacles such as falling interest prices, COVID-19, and commodity shifts. Abstract

ABSTRACT International Justice Mission (IJM) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on addressing exploitation and crimes against children, women, and victims of violence. The Philippines is one of the global epicenters of the problem of Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC). Every week, more than 20,000 images of child sexual abuse are uploaded to the internet. Therefore, IJM plays a crucial role in tackling the issue of OSEC in the Philippines. Referring to Clive Archer’s theory of international organizations, there are three primary roles that international organizations may assume: as actors, instruments, and arenas. In this study, IJM functions as an actor. As such, IJM fulfills its role by helping establish the Philippines Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC), a coordinated unit that also collaborates with various international and local organizations. IJM also partners with META and provides comprehensive recovery services for OSEC survivors. The research findings show that IJM plays a significant role not only as a legal actor but also as a collaborative partner with national and international institutions. IJM has supported hundreds of rescue operations, contributed to the arrest and conviction of perpetrators, and developed trauma-informed aftercare programs for survivors. This study concludes that IJM’s integrated approach serves as an effective model of intervention in combating OSEC and underscores the importance of crosssector collaboration in addressing online crimes against children. Abstract

Effectiveness is the level of success of an activity, program, or policy in achieving the goals and objectives that have been previously set. Something is said to be effective if the results achieved are in accordance with or close to the planned targets, in terms of quality, quantity, and time. The Community Organization Information System of Pekanbaru City (SIOMANTAP) is one of the new innovations to accelerate the registration of community organizations (ormas) in Pekanbaru City. This research uses Duncan's Theory, which emphasizes aspects of adaptation, integration, and goal achievement in a system. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed using Duncan's theory of organizational effectiveness, which includes three main aspects: system adaptation to user needs, system integration with other policies and services, and achievement of the main goals of the Ormas data system. The results of the study show that although the SIOMANTAP system has provided convenience in the online registration of community organizations, its effectiveness still faces various obstacles. First, in the aspect of goal achievement, the main goal of the SIOMANTAP system is to increase efficiency and transparency in Ormas management. Although it has provided several benefits such as ease of access to information, the system still needs stability improvements, service mechanism repairs, and evaluations of obstacles faced by Ormas. Second, the aspect of system integration still has limitations in integration between Kesbangpol and Ormas. Many Ormas complain about the lack of admin response and the lack of clarity regarding registration status. Third, the aspect of system adaptation has not fully adapted to the needs of all Ormas. This is evident from user difficulties who are not familiar with technology. A more user-friendly system is needed, as well as training and assistance for Ormas that have difficulty using digital systems. Keywords: Effectiveness, Management, SIOMANTAP

Abstract

In the 2024 general election in Pekanbaru City, the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) gained an increase in the number of votes and seats in the Pekanbaru City DPRD, from these results of course there are efforts made by the elected DPRD members of the Nasdem Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB) of Pekanbaru City in the form of political communication where by carrying out political communication the DPRD members can be elected as people's representatives in parliament. This study shows the form of political communication carried out by the elected DPRD members of the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) in the 2024 general election in Pekanbaru City. This study uses Harold D. Lasswell's political communication theory which includes five components, namely Who, Say What, In Which Channel¸ To Whom, and What The Effect. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques by interview and documentation with triangulation data analysis techniques where data acquisition comes from various sources of informants whose data are taken. The data obtained from the selected informants are elected DPRD members of the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) of Pekanbaru City. The results of this study show how the form of political communication of the elected DPRD Members of the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) in the 2024 general election in Pekanbaru City with 5 components of Harold D. Lasswell's Political Communication theory which shows the people who become communicators in campaigning, campaign messages, media used in campaigning, targets in campaigning and also the influence obtained from the community, namely providing support to the elected DPRD Members of Pekanbaru City and increasing the number of seats obtained by the National Democratic Party (Nasdem) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) in the 2024 general election in Pekanbaru City. Abstract

As an archipelagic country with a geostrategic position along global trade routes, Indonesia considers ports as vital infrastructure in supporting export and import activities. However, Belawan Port, one of the main ports in North Sumatra, continues to face various challenges, particularly in terms of infrastructure limitations and operational inefficiencies. This study aims to analyze the impact of the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates through the Shareholder Agreement (SHA) scheme on the improvement of Belawan Port infrastructure during Phase I. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach, data were collected through literature review, official document analysis, and strategic policy evaluation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the SHA involving PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo), the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), and Dubai Port World (DP World) has accelerated port modernization, enhanced the attractiveness of foreign direct investment (FDI), and improved national logistics efficiency. Beyond economic dimensions, the cooperation also emphasizes sustainable development principles by integrating environmental considerations into both the planning and operational stages of the port. This cooperation model represents a strategic, adaptive, and visionary cross-border partnership that can serve as a reference for the development of maritime infrastructure based on international collaboration. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed global health dynamics and international relations, particularly in developing countries like Ethiopia. China actively engaged in health diplomacy in Ethiopia during the pandemic, connected to its broader Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) strategic interests in the region. This research analyzes China's health diplomacy in Ethiopia during 2020-2023 and examines its relationship with BRI programs in the country. This research employed a qualitative methodology using document analysis as the primary data collection technique and applied Ilona Kickbusch's global health diplomacy theoretical framework. Various document sources were analyzed including government reports, international organization publications, academic journals, news articles, and policy documents related to China's health diplomacy in Ethiopia. The analysis focused on examining China's health assistance programs, vaccine diplomacy, medical aid, and health infrastructure development conducted in Ethiopia during the research period. Research findings indicate that China's health diplomacy in Ethiopia during the COVID-19 pandemic aligned strategically with BRI objectives. China provided substantial medical assistance including vaccine donations, medical equipment supplies, and health facility construction. These activities strengthened bilateral relations, enhanced China's presence in Ethiopia's health sector, and supported broader BRI goals in East Africa. The study concludes that health diplomacy has become an important instrument in China's foreign policy strategy in regions strategic to BRI success. Abstract

In August 2023, the Chinese government released its 2023 Standard Map, which unilaterally claims a significant portion of the North Natuna Sea. This claim overlaps with Indonesia’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and has triggered a renewed escalation of maritime tensions. It also reinforces China’s Gray Zone Operations strategy, particularly through the China Coast Guard, thereby posing a threat to regional stability in Southeast Asia.This study analyzes Indonesia’s response using a soft power approach rooted in defense diplomacy to address the emerging threat. Employing a qualitative method and drawing on the theory of bandwagoning, the paper evaluates Indonesia’s defense diplomacy towards China through analysis of official documents, academic publications, and credible media sources. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s defense diplomacy in the North Natuna Sea emphasizes soft power mechanisms through bilateral cooperation under the 2007 Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which includes officer exchanges, non-traditional military exercises, and intelligence sharing. This strategy has helped foster trust and crisis communication, particularly through forums such as Navy-to-Navy Talks. However, it has not directly addressed the gray zone tactics employed by the China Coast Guard. As an adaptive strategy, Indonesia’s soft power diplomacy requires reinforcement through a more responsive maritime policy to effectively counter non-conventional security threats. Abstract

Regional assets that should be a weapon to boost the movement of an effective and efficient government system, but this has not been realized due to identity issues regarding these assets between the Pekanbaru City Government and the Riau Provincial Government. Some assets are not used effectively because both parties have the same authority over these assets. With these problems, a study was conducted to describe how to resolve regional asset disputes between the Pekanbaru City Government and the Riau Provincial Government in 2019-2021. This study uses Garry Goopaster's theory, namely dispute resolution through mediation. The data collection techniques used are interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study show that the resolution of regional asset disputes between the Pekanbaru City Government and the Provincial Government takes quite a long time, many of which are considered due to changes in the rules regarding the management of regional assets, coupled with the Covid situation that hit Indonesia, especially Riau Province. With various dynamics, finally the problem between the Pekanbaru City Government and the Riau Provincial Government was resolved through mediation. Abstract

Thematic tourism has become a trend in tourism today. This type of tourism is the answer to the needs of the community to travel, especially in areas that have limited tourist attractions. The development of thematic tourism areas can be an alternative for areas located far from famous tourist attractions, such as in Kuantan Singingi Regency. The activities carried out by tourists while at the location are a form of activity that revives tourism in this area. Thematic tourism is a type of tourism that organizes trips with a certain theme, narrative, or story so as to provide important experiences and lessons in tourism activities. This study aims to determine: 1) the variety of attractions available at Surya Fam's Tourism Park as a thematic tourist destination in Kuantan Singingi Regency; 2) the form of thematic tourism carried out at Surya Fam's Kuantan Singingi Tourism Park. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where researchers try to describe the actual conditions and circumstances by collecting data and information in the field. Based on the results of the study, this Tourism Park provides various photo spots with a flower garden background, a swimming pool, hanging bike, flying fox and gazebo are available. In general, Surya Fam's Tourism Park is themed Attractions theme parks with the main concept of family tourism. This type of theme is strengthened by the types of attractions and tourism activities displayed. Keywords: thematic tourism, attraction, family tourism
