Abstract

Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries due to the effects of climate change. The climate crisis in Pakistan reached its peak in 2022 with nationwide flooding that caused massive losses and damage and triggered a massive internal displacement of the population. Not only did the disaster affect the local population, but it also impacted refugees, particularly Afghan refugees who had long sought protection in Pakistan. UNHCR, as the UN agency with the primary mandate to protect displaced persons, played a strategic role in responding to this crisis. This research aims to analyze how UNHCR handled the displacement caused by the climate disaster in Pakistan in 2022-2023. This research utilized a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through document analysis. Using Barnett and Finnemore's International Organizations Theory and a Constructivist approach at the group level, this research found that UNHCR plays an important role as an independent actor with the authority to develop programs to be implemented, coordinate with various parties, and address new issues relevant to its primary mandate. The research revealed UNHCR played a major role in implementing the Pakistan: 2022 Flood Response Plan in each sector and in enhancing the resilience of refugees and local populations to climate disasters through climate action programs. The success of UNHCR's role in addressing climate change-induced displacement in Pakistan is demonstrated by the program's high operational achievements, positive beneficiary reviews, and UNHCR's central role in bridging the needs of refugees, host communities, and the global climate agenda. Abstract

This study aims to examine the appearance of tour guides at the Asserayah Al-Hasyimiah Palace in Siak Regency and identify the challenges faced. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the tour guides’ appearance generally reflects Malay cultural values, but shortcomings remain, such as untidy hair and nails, inappropriate footwear, and habits like smoking or chewing gum while working. The main obstacle is the absence of written standard operating procedures regarding appearance. It is concluded that strengthening guidance, formulating appearance guidelines, and providing regular training are needed to improve tour guide professionalism and enhance the tourism image of Siak. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of brand ambassador and brand trust on motorcycle purchasing decisions at PT. Yamaha Alfa Scorpii Nangka Pekanbaru. This study is a quantitative study with a sample of 100 respondents. Data sources were obtained from secondary data and primary data. This study used a questionnaire as a data collection technique with a purposive sampling method, namely a technique for determining samples with certain considerations or characteristics. The analysis methods used in this study are validity test, reliability test, classic normality assumption test, classic multicollinearity assumption test, classic heteroscedasticity assumption test, multiple linear analysis, t test, F test and coefficient of determination analysis (R2). The results of this study are Brand Ambassador (X1) has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions (Y), Brand Trust (X2) has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions (Y), and Brand Ambassador and Brand Trust have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Abstract

Article 78 of Law Number 6 of 2014 states that the purpose of village development is to improve the welfare of rural communities. Article 1 explains that village funds are used to finance government administration, the implementation of development, community development, and community empowerment. Therefore, the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 108 of 2024 regulates the management of Village Funds for the year 2025. In managing village funds, transparency from the village government is needed, starting from the availability and accessibility of documents, clarity and completeness of information, and openness of processes. This research uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The theory used as the basis of this research is the theory of transparency (Kristianten, in M. Fikri 2022) and the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 108 of 2024 regulates the management of Village Funds. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that overall, the Tambang village government is transparent regarding village funds in every activity. In determining the infrastructure to be implemented, the village government holds meetings at the hamlet level, and the results of the hamlet meetings are proposed to the village meeting and then the Village Development Plan (RKPDes) is compiled. The village government is open and invites the community to participate or supervise activities in the Tambang village, such as by putting up banners and reports of activities. Abstract

Indonesia, as the world's largest coconut producer, has great potential in the export industry for processed coconut products. PT Sambu Group is one of the main players in exporting processed coconut products to Malaysia. This research is motivated by the importance of implementing the right export strategy to address the challenges of the global market. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with Michael Porter's theory of competitive advantage as the analytical framework. The study focuses on product differentiation strategies, cost efficiency, and distribution strengthening. Data were obtained through literature review and document analysis. The results show that PT Sambu Group has been able to maintain its export competitiveness through product innovation, partnerships with farmers, and compliance with international standards. This strategy has proven effective in expanding its export market to Malaysia and in strengthening the company's position as a major exporter of processed coconut products in the region. Abstract

This study is motivated by the persistent weaknesses in the implementation of election supervision during the 2024 General Election in Dumai City, as evidenced by the occurrence of Re-Voting (Pemungutan Suara Ulang/PSU) in nine polling stations. This phenomenon indicates that the preliminary supervision conducted by the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Dumai City has not been fully effective, particularly in preventing early administrative and technical violations in the field. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of Bawaslu Dumai’s supervisory duties and functions during the 2024 General Election, focusing on the effectiveness of supervision at each stage preliminary, concurrent, and feedback control. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews and documentation. The analysis is based on Donnelly’s (1996) control theory, which includes three types of supervision: preliminary control, concurrent control, and feedback control, supported by Law Number 7 of 2017 and Bawaslu Regulation Number 5 of 2022 on Election Supervision. The results show that Bawaslu Dumai has generally performed its supervisory duties according to regulations, including prevention, implementation, and enforcement stages. However, preliminary control remains the weakest aspect due to the limited technical training (Bimtek) provided to ad hoc supervisors, weak coordination across supervisory levels, and suboptimal mapping of potential violations. These issues have led to administrative errors that triggered PSU. In conclusion, the implementation of Bawaslu Dumai’s duties during the 2024 General Election has been fairly effective but still requires improvement in preliminary control through capacity building, continuous training, and stronger coordination systems to ensure more credible, fair, and democratic elections in the future. Abstract

Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) are a concrete manifestation of democracy in Indonesia, but their implementation remains vulnerable to violations such as money politics, administrative violations, and the lack of impartiality of state civil servants. This study aims to analyze the role of the Pekanbaru City Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in preventing violations in the 2024 Pilkada. The approach used was descriptive qualitative through interviews, documentation, and literature review, utilizing Talizuduhu Ndraha's role theory, which divides roles into normative and effective indicators. The results show that normatively, Bawaslu has implemented its preventive function through outreach, education, and participatory oversight. However, effective oversight is still hampered by limited resources, weak reporting evidence, and low public participation. These conditions have resulted in suboptimal efforts to prevent violations that threaten the integrity of the Pilkada. This study emphasizes the need for increased institutional capacity and community collaboration to strengthen the oversight function so that local democracy in Pekanbaru can be realized transparently and with integrity. Abstract

Cases of digital sexual abuse against children in Indonesia have increased significantly along with the rapid development of technology and internet access. Low levels of digital literacy among children and parents, lack of regulations that specifically regulate digital sexual abuse of children, and weak coordination between the government, law enforcement, and digital platforms have resulted in many cases going unreported or not being handled properly. There is a nongovernmental organization called ECPAT Indonesia that focuses on cases of digital sexual abuse against children. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and the use of Lewis's Non-Governmental Organization theory, NGOs play a role as implementers, catalysts, and partners. This study will analyze the role of ECPAT Indonesia in dealing with digital child sexual abuse in Indonesia in accordance with its role as an NGO. Primary data was obtained from online interviews with representatives of ECPAT Indonesia and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). Secondary data was obtained from journals, books, internal organizational documents, and other related websites. The results of the research show that ECPAT Indonesia plays an important role in advocacy, education, and cooperation with various stakeholders in dealing with online child sexual exploitation. ECPAT Indonesia actively collaborates with various government and non-government institutions, conducts public campaigns, and provides assistance to child victims of online sexual abuse. ECPAT Indonesia continues to strive to protect children in the digital world so that prevention and handling can run effectively. Abstract

The implementation of participatory supervision plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of democracy through active public involvement in the electoral process. In the context of the 2024 Election in Riau Province, the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Riau Province holds a key role in optimizing participatory supervision through various designed programs. This research aims to describe how Bawaslu of Riau Province develops participatory supervision through the dimensions of governmental roles proposed by Ryaas Rasyid, as a regulator, facilitator, dynamizer, and catalyst. The study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through structured interviews, FGD, and documentation. The reaserch show that Bawaslu of Riau Province has implemented several participatory supervision programs, including the Participatory Supervision Education Program, Citizen Forums, Supervision Corners, Partnerships with Universities, Participatory Supervision Villages, and Digital Communities. Each program reflects the realization of Bawaslu’s role in developing participatory supervision during the 2024 Election. However, field implementation indicates that not all programs have been effectively carried out in accordance with Bawaslu’s roles as a regulator, facilitator, dynamizer, and catalyst. This research recommends expanding the reach and improving the quality of these programs, as well as enhancing citizens’ political literacy to strengthen participatory supervision and support a more transparent and inclusive electoral process. Abstract

This study aims to explore more deeply the perception of visitors towards tour guides at the Siak Sri Indrapura High Density Hall. As well as analyzing the duties of tour guides at the High Density Hall which are good duties. The data needed in this study are through several methods, namely direct observation of tour guides at the High Density Hall, questionnaires to visitors and documentation of interviews that will be conducted by researchers to related tour guides. Based on the results of the data analysis, this study shows that visitor perceptions of tour guides at the Siak Regency High Density Hall are good. This can be seen from the question variables about visitor perceptions of tour guides at the Siak Regency High Density Hall which consist of a convincing appearance, pleasant and easy to adapt to the environment and easy to communicate with higher results, namely obtained by the dimensions of pleasant and easy to adapt to the environment with a total score of 1.925, a convincing appearance dimension with a total score of 1.584. And finally the easy to communicate dimension with a total score of 1.076. Keyword: Perception, Visitors, Tour Guides
