Abstract

Shrimp-based agroindustry is one of the efforts made in the Kijang Island District, Reteh District. Shrimp processing agro-industry becomes shrimp amplang crackers, the existence of this agro-industry is expected to improve quality, profitability and added value. The purpose of this study was to analyze the added value of the amplang shrimp cracker agroindustry in Kijang Island Village, Reteh District. The method of taking respondents was carried out in a census where the total population in the Kijang Island District, Reteh Subdistrict, was made as a respondent by 7 business actors in shrimp amplang crackers. The technique of data collection is done by direct interviews with respondents and analysis of data using the Hayami value-added analysis method. The results showed that the profit received from the Amplang shrimp cracker agroindustry business was Rp. 12,471.43 per kg. Shrimp amplang cracker agroindustry added value of Rp. 18,876.10 per kg. The profit obtained in one production process is Rp. 12,471.10 per kg of raw material. And every kilogram of raw material produces a margin of Rp. 18,976.10 consisting of labor income, other input contributions and profits of business actors.Keywords: Agroindustry, Shrimp, Sand, Crackers, Value added

Abstract

One of the efforts to increase the production of eggplant in an intensified manner is to balance fertilization. This study aims to determine the effect of giving sago pulp compost with different activators, as well as the best treatment in increasing the growth and production of eggplant. The research was carried out at UPT Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in May to August 2018 experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments and three replications. Treatment includes S0 = Without compost, S1 = Sago waste, S2 = Compost sago waste with chicken manure activator, S3 = Compost sago waste with EM4 activator, S4 = Compost sago waste with Trichoderma activator, and S5 = Compost sago waste with Bacillus activator, each of 5 tons.ha-1 or 1,26 kg per 2,52 m2. The observed parameters included total N, total P, total K, pH, organic C, plant height, stem diameter, flowering day, harvest day, fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight per plant, number of fruits per plant, and production per plot on eggplant. The results showed that the nutrient content of N, P, K from the compost use each activator results had met the SNI compost quality standard (2004). Sago waste compost fertilizer with activator EM4 has a best chemical content of pH value 7.12, N-total 0.92%, P-total 1.26%, K-total 1.16% and C/N 33.54 and compost was able to increase fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight per plant, number of fruits per plant and production per eggplant plot. Compost of sago waste with chicken manure activator (5 ton.ha-1) was able to increase the growth of plant height and stem diameter of eggplant.Keywords: Compost, Sago waste, Activator, Eggplant, Quality of compost

Abstract

The efforts of increasing growth, development and productivity of red onionthrough fertilization. Organic and inorganic fertilizers are used. This combination of fertilizers is expected to increase the growth of shallots, because the functions as a nutrient source and it is able to improve the physical and biological properties of the land.The study was conducted on the experimental field of the Agriculture Faculty University of Riau on February until April 2018. A randomized block design with two factors are used in this study. The first factor was 4 levels of biourine (control, 200 ml.l-1, 250ml.l-1, and 300 ml.l-1).The second factor was 4 levels of potassium(control, 36kg K2O.ha-1, 54kgK2O.ha-1, and 72kgK2O.ha-1). The parameters that were observed such as leaf length, number of leaves, number of tubers, tubers, fresh weight of tubers per clump, fresh weight of tubers per plot, tuber weight worth keeping. The result showed that there were interaction between biourin and potassium on fresh weight parameters per plot and fresh weight worth keeping per plot. The main factor treatment of biourin has significant effect through all of parameters that were observed. The main factor treatment of potassium fertilizer has a significant effect through all of observational parameters except on the parameters of the number of tubers.The combination of good treatment were obtained from the treatment of biourin and potassium at a concentration of 250 ml.l-1 at a dose of 72 kg K2O.ha-1. Keywords:Biourin, Potassium, Red Onion (Allium ascalonicum L.

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of vegetables waste compost on the growth of the cocoa seedlings. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University Pekanbaru from September to January 2017. The experimental unit was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments: 0, 25, 50, 75, 100and 125 g/seedling and replicated 3 times. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 seedlings. Parameters observed were seedling height,stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, the ratio of the canopy and root and dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each of treatment was compared with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at level 5 %. The result showed that the dose vegetables waste compost at 125 g/seedling produced the best growth of cocoa seedling.Keywords :cocoa seedling, vegetabless compost dose.

Abstract

Red onion plant is one of the annual plant that has important economic value. This plant is usually used as cooking spice and traditional medicine. The low productivity of red onion plant is due to limited availability of agricultural land. Efforts for development of red onion need to be done by applying verticultural farming system. This study aimed to look at the effect of kind of planting medium with verticultural technique on growth and yield of red onion plant and to get the best kind of planting medium. The field experiment was conducted in the Faculty of Agriculture experiment station Riau University located in Pekanbaru from August to October 2018. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 replications. The factor was kind of planting medium, which were husk charcoal, cocopeat and sawdust. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers, tuber diameter, weight of tuber, dry weight of tuber worth storage. Data obtained from this study were analized statistically by using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tested by further testing (DNMRT) level of 5%. The results showed that the giving of cocopeat planting medium can increase plant height and diameter of red onion plant. The giving of husk charcoal planting medium can increase the number of tuber. Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the interraction of giving coconut water and trichokompos oil palm empty bunch and the best combination of treatment for the growth of the eye stum rubber bed. The research was conducted at Experimental Station, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau on March 2017 until June 2017, implemented by Randomized Complete Design (RAL) Factorial consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the provision of coconut water (A) consists of 3 levels: A1 (250 cc.l-1 water), A2 (500 cc.l-1 water), A3 (750 cc.l-1 water). The second factor is the provision of trichokompos (B) consists of 3 levels: B1 (100 g per polybag), B2 (200 g per polybag), B3 (300 g per polybag). Each unit consists of 2 plants there are 54 plants. Parameters measured were time buds appear (days), shoot length (cm), number of leaves (pieces), shoot diameter (cm) and shoot dry weight (g). The result of the variance were continued by Duncan multiple distance test at 5% level. The results showed combination treatment with coconut water giving 750 cc.l-1 water and trichokompos 200 g per polybag showed the best results for the time parameter appearing shoots, shoot length, number of leaves, stem diameter and dry weight of shoots. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaksi media dan pupuk urea terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman lidah buaya dan mendapatkan kombinasi dosis pupuk yang terbaik. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan dikebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau. Penelitian dilakukan selama 3 bulan dimulai dari bulan Februari sampai Mei 2018. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari dua faktor dan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah T1 : Tanah gambut, T2 : Tanah Inceptisol. Faktor kedua N0 : Pupuk urea  0 ton.ha-1, N1 : pupuk urea 4 ton.ha-1, N2 : pupuk urea 8 ton.ha-1. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk urea pada tanah gambut dapat meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, jumlah pelepah, panjang pelepah, lebar pelepah, tebal pelepah, diameter batang dan volume akar. Pemberian pupuk urea 8 ton.ha-1 pada media gambut menunjukkan hasil terbaik pada setiap parameter. Kata kunci : Lidah buaya, gambut, Inceptisol, urea

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and spacing, and to obstain interactionthe best doses of chicken manure and spacing for growth and production of shallots.This research has been carried in Experimental Station Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from October 2017 to January 2018. This research was conducted in a factorial which was arranged in a complete randomized design consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is chicken manure which is without chicken manure, 10 ton.ha-1, 20 ton.ha-1 and 30 ton.ha-1, and the second factor is spacing of 10 cm x 15 cm, 15 cm x 15 cm and 20 cm x 15 cm. The data obtained were further tested by Duncan's Multiple Range Test 5%. The interaction chicken manure and spacing were significant in increasing fresh tuber weight and tuber weight worth keeping and the interaction of chicken manure application and spacing was not significant in increasing plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of tubers per clump and tuber wrap. The giving of chicken manure at a dose of 30 ton.ha-1 and a spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm resulted in a tuber weight worth the highest, namely 1193,80 g.m-2(11,938 ton.ha-1)Keywords: Shallot, chicken manure, plant spacing and soil Inceptisol

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the response of three palm oil varieties (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the main nursery on giving of several volumes of water. This research was conducted with factorial experimental methods arranged according to a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD), this research consisted of 2 factors, namely: Factor I = Palm oil Varieties, V1: Tenera Marihat Varieties originating from PPKS, V2: Tenera Topaz 3 varieties from AA Topaz , V3: Tenera Lame variety from Socfindo, Factor II = Water supply, A1: 1000 ml per day per seed, A2: 1500 ml per day per seed, A3: 2000 ml per day per seed, A4: 2500 ml per day per seed . The research consisted of 12 treatment combinations and each treatment combination was repeated 3 replications so that 36 experimental units were obtained, each experimental unit had 3 plants to obtain 108 seeds. The results showed that: the interaction of giving several volumes of water and varieties had an effect on the humps of palm seeds, the Marihat variety showed a good response to the growth ofpalm seeds compared to the other two varieties (topaz and socfindo), giving 2500 ml per day per seed showed the good growth for all three varieties, while giving of 1000-1500 ml per day per seed of water per seed showed depressed growth in topas and socfindo varieties.Keywords: oil palm varieties, Main nursery, volumes of water

Abstract

The needs for ground nut in Riau is always increasing but peanutproduction in Riau is still low. The efforts in increasing the yields of ground nut plants can be done by giving fertilizer optimally. The using of cocoa peel compost and NPK-fertilizer is one of the way that can be done in increasing the yields of ground nut plants. This research aims to find out the effect of cocoa peel compost and NPK-fertilizer interaction on the growth and yield of ground nut plants (Arachis hypogaea L.) and the optimal dosage.This research was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture,Riau University. The research was conducted for 3 months from May to August 2018. The research was conducted experimentally in factorial 4x4 by using a completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor was cocoa peel compost levels (0, 0.5, 1 dan 1.5kg.plot-1). The second factor was the dosage of NPK-fertilizer (0, 1, 2 dan 3 g.plot-1.). The parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, plant growth rate (LPT), age of flowering, the percentage of effective root nodules, number of pods per sample, the percentage of peas pithy, 100 seeds weight and seeds weight per m2. The data obtained were analyzed of variance if significantly in different, then would be continued with DNMRT test at the level of 5%. The result of the research showed that cocoa peel compost increased plant height, stem diameter, plant growth rate, age of flowering, number of pods per sample and weight of 100 seeds. The treatment of cocoa peel compost1.5 kg.plot-1 was the best dosage of all the treatments. The treament of NPK-fertilizer 1 g.plot-1 increased the percentage of effective root nodules 81.20%. The treament of NPK-fertilizer 3 g.plot-1 increased the percentage of pithy pods and seeds weight per m2. The interaction of cocoa peel compost 1.5 kg.plot-1 and 3 g.plot-1 of NPK-fertilizer produced the highest percentage of pithy pods 92,08%. Peanut production the treatment of cacao peel compost 1.5 kg.plot-1and 3 g.plot-1 NPK-fertilizer 183,75 g (1,84 tons.ha-1) Key words:ground nut plant, cocoa peel compost, NPK fertilizer
