Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and dosage of compost fertilizer (Greenbotane) which produces the best growth of palm seedlings.Penelitian conducted in Experimental Garden Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau. Type of land used is Mineral Acid. The research was conducted for four months starting from August to December 2016. The research was conducted experimentally using Randomized Complete Random Design (RAL), which consisted of 5 treatments with 4 replicates. The total experimental unit amounted to 20 plots, in which each plot contained 2 plants . The observed data were analyzed statistically by using Analysis of Varian (ANOVA), then continued by the Multiple Range Test of Duncan at 5% level. The observed parameters consist of plant height, number of leaves, diameter of stump, wet weight of plant, dry weight and root canopy ratio. The results show that compost fertilizer (Greenbotane) treatment can increase plant height, cobweb diameter, wet weight and dry weight of plant. The best treatment for oil palm crop is fertilizer application (Greenbotane) with dose 200g / polybag.Keywords: Greenbotane compost, palm oil

Abstract

The aimresearchof determine the influence of M. bracteata and the slope of land to the diversity of soil macrofauna and root growth of oil palmsimmature. This research was conducted in PTPN V Unit LubukDalam, Siak and analysis of soil macrofauna in the Soil Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research has been carried out from January to April 2016. The study was conducted using Split Plot Design. The level of the slope (K) as the main plot consists of: K0 = 0-3%,K1 =>3-8%, K2 = >8-15%. Employing Mucunabracteata (M) as the subplot consisting of: M0 = land clearning, M1 = land that is overgrown. The parameters measured were the number of population density, relative density, diversity index (H’) soil macrofauna, root dry weight, root volume and root occupy. The research showed: (1) land overgrown palm M. bracteata has a population density number, relative density and the diversity of the soil macrofauna higher and better root growth compared with that land clearning; and (2) The higher the slope (%) resulting in a population density, relative density and the diversity of soil macrofauna are getting lower and root growth decreases. Keywords: Mucuna bracteata, land slope and macrofauna

Abstract

The study was aimed to get the best treatment ratio of utilization water hyacinth cellulose as a base material in the manufacture of edible film with the addition of glycerol and carrageenan. The study was conducted using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of six treatments with each treatment repeated three times. The treatments in this study were E0 (without addition of water hyacinth cellulose), E1 (percentage of 1% water hyacinth cellulose), E2 (percentage of water hyacinth cellulose 2%), E3 (percentage of water hyacinth cellulose 3%), E4 (percentage of water hyacinth cellulose 4%) and E5 (percentage of 5% water hyacinth cellulose). The observed parameters were thickness (mm), transparency, water vapor transmission rate (g/hour.m2), water resistance (%), tensile strength (MPa) and percent elongation (%). The data obtained were tested statistically using ANOVA. If F arithmetic was greater than F table then analysis will be continued with DNMRT test at 5% level. The result showed that the percentage of addition of water hyacinth cellulose powder had significant effect on thickness, transparency, vapor transmission rate, water resistance, tensile strength and percent elongation. The best treatment is treatment with percentage of 1% cellulose powder added with thickness value     0,139 mm, transparency 1,029, vapor transmission 1,323 g / hour.m2, water resistance 5,829%, tensile strength 6,104 MPa and percent elongation 23,885%. Abstract

White root fungus (Rigidoporus microporus) is a major pathogen in the rubber plant that is difficult to control because it has a structure that survives in plant tissue.  Biological control of endophytic fungi is very potential to control  Mushrooms JAP.  This research was conducted at Plant Disease Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Riau University and Photomikografi Laboratory, FMIPA Organic Chemistry Laboratory Department of Biology, University of Riau, Simpang Baru Campus Tampan District, Pekanbaru.  Starting from March to June 2017 with the aim of Identification of morphological cultivation of endophytic fungi and In-Vitro microbial test on Rigidoporus microporus in rubber plant.  The study consisted of site survey, sampling, tool sterilization, PDA & PDB media manufacture, fungi isolation, rubber plant tissue incubation, purification and observation. Based on the results of isolation and identification of endophytic fungi from plant tissue obtained 3 isolates where there are 2 types of Aspergilus SP fungus and 1 type of Trichoderma sp.  All three isolates are potential endophytic fungi to control JAP disease in rubber. Hypovirulensi test results did not produce symptoms of chlorosis or necrosis after inoculated Trichoderma 48 hours after incubation. Observation of secondary metabolite Trichoderma sp endophytes after 14 days incubated in a petridish showed metabolite results with a mean of 0.75 cm clear zone. Keywords: Rigidoporus microporus, Identification, Endophytic Fungi

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to obtain the ratio of chayote extracts and lime extractsin the manufactured of syrup. This research used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replication which followed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at level 5%. The treatments in this research included LS0(ratio of chayote extracts and lime extracts 100 : 0), LS1 (ratio chayote extracts and lime extracts 95 : 05), LS2 (ratio chayote extracts and lime extracts 90 : 10), LS3 (chayote extracts and lime extracts 85 : 15). The results of analysis showed that the ratio of chayote extracts and lime extracts significantly effect on acidity (pH), viscosity, total dissolve, sucrose content and organoleptic value (colour, flavour, taste, consistency and overall acceptability). The bestsyrup was LS3 with acidity (pH) 4,45, viscosity 528,33cP, total dissolved 71,03 brix, sucrose content 65,44%. Overall preferred by the panelists with description the colour of rather murky, not falvorful chayote and falvorful lime, sweet taste little  acidic and condensed.   Keywords: Syrup, chayote, lime.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to getthe best combination of dragon fruit combined with rosella petals. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replication andfollowed by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMNRT) at level of 5%. The treatmentswere NR1 (the ratio dragon fruit : rosella petals 3:1) , NR2 (the ratio dragon fruit: rosella petals 2: 1), NR3 (the ratio dragon fruit: rosella petals 1: 1), NR4 (the ratio dragon fruit: rosella petals 1: 2), and NR5 (the ratio dragon fruit: rosella petals    (1: 3). The results showed that the ratio of dragon fruit and rosella petalsin making velva significantly affected to degrees of overrun, pH, melting time, fibers content, and sensory assessment includes of the colour, flavor, taste, and texture  the velva producted. The best treatment of making velva was NR1(the ratio of dragon fruit: rosella petals 3: 1) which had fiber content 1.63%, overrun velva 22.56%, melting range time 16.62 minutes, pH 5.14, antioxidant 137.71 ppm. The treatment NR1 haspurple color  (4,64), dragon fruit flavor (3,80), dragon fruit taste(4,04), soft texture (2,92), and overall liked by panelist (2,58). Abstract

Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen is a fast-growing plant species that has been widely recognized by society in the development of forest plantations. Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen has many uses ranging from leaves, stems to the roots. People generally just let the Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen seeds grow naturally without making the treatment of the seeds. Seed treatment is by using plants that contain a disinfectant or antiseptic, and easily found around the neighborhood, including the Piper betle Linn. plant. This research aimed to determine the effect of soaking Piper betle Linn. leaves on the quality of the seed and determine the length of immersion Piper betle Linn. leaf which is optimal to protect seed quality. The research was compiled in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consisted of soaking Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen seeds with water immersion of Piper betle Linn. leaves for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes and 50 minutes. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance using SAS 9.1.3 Portable. And than, continued with DNMRT double distance test at 5% level. The research results showed that the duration of Piper betle Linn. leaf soaking has an effect on seed germination and improve the quality of seeds during storage. The optimal time for Piper betle Linn. leaf soaking is 30 minutes with germination percentage of 86.00%, germination speed of 2.73 days and seed germination time of 8 days. Keywords: Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Abstract

The aim of the research was to obtain the best combination of  various starter i.e. Lactobacillusplantarum 1 R.1.3.2, Lactobacillusplantarum1 R.11.1.2, Lactobacillus bulgaricusFNCC 0041 and Streptococcus thermophilusFNCC 0040 to produced yoghurt. The experiment research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The treatments were Y1: Starter 3% S. thermophilus FNCC 0040 + 3% Starter L.bulgaricus FNCC 0041, Y2 : 3% Starter S. thermophilus FNCC 0040 + 3% Starter L. plantarum 1 R.1.3.2, Y3 : Starter 3% S. thermophilus FNCC 0040+ 3% Starter L. plantarum 1 R.11.1.2, Y4 : 2% Starter S. thermophilus FNCC 0040 + 2%  Starter L. bulgaricus FNCC 0041 + 2% StarterL. plantarum 1 R.1.3.2,  Y5 : 2% StarterS. thermophilus FNCC 0040 + 2% StarterL. bulgaricus FNCC 0041 + 2%  Starter L. plantarum 1 R. 11.1.2. Data obtained were analized using ANOVA and DNMRT at 5%. The result showed that the combination of lactic acid  bacteria as a yogurt starter was significantly affected on titration acid total and lactic acid bacteria. The best yoghurt from this research was incubated using Y4 treatment 2% Starter S. thermophilus FNCC 0040 + 2% StarterL. bulgaricus FNCC 0041 + 2% Starter L.Plantarum 1 R.1.3.2 with pH value was 4.62, titration acid total 1.11%, lactic acid bacteria total 1.23×108. The best overall  acceptance of yoghurt obtained at  Y4 treatment.   Keywords: Yoghurt, Fermentation, Lactobacillus plantarum 1.

Abstract

The goal of this research is learning about : 1) identify rubber farmers’ profile in Kecamatan Gunung Toar, 2) study about auction system of rubber marketing in Kecamatan Gunung Toar, 3) analyze cost, marketing margin and profif jn auction system of marketing in Kecamatan Gunung Toar. This research in Kecamatan Gunung Toar with 39 rubber farmers is using survey method. This analysis is using descriptive analysis. The result of this research shows that rubber farmers’ profile who use auction system of marketing are 79.90 % of men with productive age number that is 71.70%, average education of farmers is high school with 51.20%, number of family dependents are within 0 to 3 with 89.70%, the extensive land holdings of farmers is dominant in higher than 2 hectares with 56.40% and the status of own land is 100% and also experience period of  farmers’ farming is 16 to 20 years with 53.80%. The result in auction system of rubber is market that held in every Monday 10:00 to 20:00 o’clock, start with latex collecting until giving money to farmers. The result in cost, margin, and the profit in auction system of rubber marketing to farmers’ margin is 1.200 in average, farmers’ cost is 759,35 in average and wholesalersprofit is 400,00 in average, they are all in kilogram and month calculation.Keyword : auction marketing, rubber, farmer

Abstract

The research aims to determine  the influence of application of solid decanter and tabletNPK and get a combination is best for plant growth palm oil that comes from twin sprouts in Two-year-old Immature Oil Palm. Research has been carried out at the Experimental Farm Faculty of Agrotechnology, University of Riau, Rimbo, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Research was conducted from December 2017 until March 2018.The research was carried out experimentally using Compeletely Randomize Block Design (RAK) consisting of 5 treatments: P0 (without fertilizers), P1 (Solid decanter 1.430 t. ha-¹ + NPK 8 tablets per plant), P2 (Solid decanter 1.430 t. ha-¹ + NPK 10 tablets per plant), P3 (Solid decanter 2.145 t. ha-¹ + NPK 8 tablets per plant), P4 (Solid decanter 2.145 t. ha-¹ + NPK 10 tablets per plant). The observed parameters were a plant height, number of leaves, petiolelength and stems circumference. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the analysis of variance  and Duncan at the 5 % level.The results showed that the application of various dosages of NPK fertilizer with solid decanter tablet gives added influence on plant height, stem length, number of leaves, petiolelength and the circumference of the stem of the plant oil palm seedling origin in twins TBM II. Application of 2.145 t. ha-1 solid decanter with 10 tablets ofNPK gave the best combination of all of the parameters.Keywords: Palm Oil, Twin sprouts, Solid decanter, Tablets NPK.
