Abstract

This research aims to analyze the flow of supply chain and added value of rubber and determined the priority of supply chain strategies at PT. Andalas Agrolestari. This study was conducted at PT. Andalas Agrolestari Kuantan Singingi District Riau Province. The research methods used were qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive. The respondents in this study consisted 3 farmers, 2 collectors, 3 employees of PT. Andalas Agrolestari, 2 civil servants of Agriculture Department, and Singingi sub-district head. This research showed the supply chain of rubber at PT. Andalas Agrolestari in Kuantan Singingi included farmers, collectors, PT. Andalas Agrolestari to consumers. Value added farmer was 1,037 IDR and included in the value added ratio of 55% (high category), collector was 448 IDR with the value added ratio of  5% (low category), and PT Andalas Agrolestari was 4,223 IDR with the value added ratio of  30% (medium category). The internal factor evaluation matrix has a total score of 2.5440, while the external factor evaluation matrix has a total score of 2.4128. The results of the supply chain management strategyat PT. Andalas Agrolestari with the AHP method showed that the chosen quantity with the weight of 0.279 and the chosen main alternative is to expand thecrumb rubber’s marketing and maximize the absorption of raw material with the weight of 0.163.Keywords : Rubber, Supply Chain, Added Value, SWOT, Analytical Hierarchy Process

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine genotypic performance of M2 generation of green beans resulting from gamma ray radiation compared to parents.Mung bean seeds from Kampar as M0 population and M2 generation from gamma ray radiation,were planted in the experimental station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau by using completely randomized design. The study was conducted by collecting quantitative traits of M0 and M2 generation from individual plant. Quantitative traits observed were plant height, number ofinternodes, number of primary branches, flowering date, harvesting date, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed weight per plant, and 100 seedsweight. The result indicated that variation of harvesting date, number of filled pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, and seed weight per plant were greater in M2 population than in parentpopulation. Radiation of gamma ray shortened harvesting date, lengthened plant high and  increased number of seed per pod compered to M0, while other parameters were relatively the same between M2 and M0 population. Keywords: gamma ray radiation, phenotypic performance, mung bean, mutation.

Abstract

Shorea spp. is one of the most widely used wood types by the community. In addition to the economic value of wood, the Shorea group also has a non-timber economic value. Plants need sunlight for growth and development. The intensity of light is one of the most important factors in the process of photosynthesis to produce energy as fuel for plant growth. Shade can be interpreted as a shelter or something that can protect plants from excessive direct sunlight. Shorea leprosula Miq. is a type of semi-tolerant plant that needs shade. In this study, we will try to apply the science of Agroforestry, which is a combination of plantation and forestry plants, by planting red meranti seedlings under the auspices of oil palm stands by paying attention to the direction of the source of sunlight. The method used in this study is a randomized block design (RCBD), which consists of 5 treatments and 4 groups. This study uses 5 treatments with different light source directions, namely A0 (Shade without Shade or control), A1 (Position of seedlings in the East), A2 (Position of seedlings in the North), A3 (Position of seedlings in the South) and A4 (Position of seedlings in the West). The direction of the light source  the position of seedlings in the south under the auspices of oil palm stands turn out to be better for plant growth because it gets a long period of light exposure from morning to evening. Keywords : source direction,sunlight,growth, Shorea leprosula Miq., shade, oil palm stand.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the influence of composting sludge of PKS waste and to obtain optimum dose for rice growth and production                   (Oryza sativa L.) through SRI methodology. The experiment was conducted in an experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, in June until September  2018. The experiment was conducted by experiment using completely randomized design (CRD) through using of sludge compost, the sludge compost consist of 5 treatments ; 0 t.ha-1, 10 t.ha-1, 15 t.ha-1, 20 t.ha-1 and 25 t.ha-1 using SRI methodology it where watertable was 10 centimeters below ground level. The observed parameters were: plant height, growth of plants, rapid of net assimilation, ratio of the root canopy, tillers maximum number, number of productive tillers, age of panicles, panicle length, harvest age, number of rice grain per panicle, number of rice grain per hill,percentage of unripe rice per hill, weight of 1000 grain of pithy rice and weight of dried grain per clump.The results obtained in the analysis using Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. The result of this research show that composting of sludge compost of         20 t.ha-1 using SRI methodology where watertable was 10 cm below ground level gave best result for LPT, LAB, tillers maximum number, number of productive tillers, panicle length, number of rice grain per hill and weight of dried grain per clump. Keywords: SRI methodology, sludge, rice

Abstract

The experiment was conducted in an experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, in January 2019 until April  2019. The experiment was conducted using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments of oil palm empty bunches compost; 0 t.ha-1, 10 t.ha-1, 15 t.ha-1, 20 t.ha-1 and 25 t.ha-1and 3 replications using modificated SRI method, where watertable was 10 centimeters below soil surface. The observed parameters were: plant height, ratio of the root canopy, plant growth rate, tillers maximum number.The results obtained in the analysis using duncan new multiple range test (DNMRT) at 5%. The result of this research show that oil palm empty bunches compost  at adose of 20 t.ha-1 using modificated SRI method where watertable was 10 cm below soil surface gave best result for plant height, ratio of the root canopy, plant growth rate (PGR),tillers maximum number. Keywords: oil palm empty bunches compost, rice plants, modificated SRI

Abstract

Pod-sucking pest (Riptortus linearis) is the main pests of soybean plant. Safe and environmentally friendly control is the use of botanical insecticides from tuba plant (Derris elliptica). This study aims to obtain the effective concentration of tuba root extract powder (Derriselliptica) to control pod-sucking pests (Riptortus linearis) in soybean plant.This research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University and Jalan Rajawali Sakti, Panam, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted with an experimental method using a complete randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. Concentration treatment of tuba root extract powder given was the concentration of tuba root extract powderof 0 g.l-1 water, 20 g.l-1 water, 40 g.l-1 water, 60 g.l-1 water, 80 g.l-1 water, and 100 g.l-1 water. The parameters observed were the initial time of death, lethal time50, daily mortality, total mortality, and changes in behavior and morphology. The results present that the concentration of 100 g.l-1 water was the most effective concentration with the fastest initial death at 3,75 hours, the fastest LT50 at 47,25 hours, the percentage of daily mortality was 32,5% on the first day after application, and a total mortality of 92,50 % during 90 hours of observation. Key words:Derris elliptica, Riptortus linearis, botanical insecticide,  concentration.

Abstract

The research carried out on wetland rice in Bantan District of Bengkalis District aims to analyze whether farmers have implemented cultivation technique according to recommendations from agricultural extension officers, analyzed wetland farming and analyzed the production efficiency of weatland rice farming in Bantan District. The methode used is critical analysis method, cost analysis and DEA analysis. Th enumber of respondents in this reset were 45 racial farmers. From the results of the research that has been done, it is know that the farmers of rice paddies in bantan district before carry out rice cultivation according to the recommendations of the extension workers, and for the total average production costs that must be spent by farmers for a planting period of Rp 20.197.156/ Ha receipts od Rp 23.323.721/ Ha. The net income received by farmers is Rp 3.126.768/ Ha with an RCR value of 1.17 while for the analysis of its own production efficiency the average farmers has not been technically, allocatively and economically efficient. Abstract

This study aims to obtain the best concentration of bintaro leaf flour extract to control golden snails in rice plants. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, so that 20 experimental units obtained. Each unit of experiment was infested with 10 golden snails aged 30 days. The treatments given several concentrations of bintaro leaf extract, namely 0 g.l-1 water, 25 g.l-1 water, 50 g.l-1 water, 75 g.l-l water, and 100 g.l-1 water. The parameters observed were initial time of death (hours), lethal time 50 (LT50) (hours), daily mortality (%), total mortality (%) and daily temperature and humidity of the study site. Data were analyzed statistically using analysisof variance and further tests with the Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that the extract of bintaro leaves given at the highest concentration off 100 g.l-1 of water produced the golden snail mortality which tended to be the best with the fastest initial death at 93,75 hours, the fastest lethal time 50 at 155,25 hours, the highest daily mortality percentage of 22% and total mortality by 65% for 168 hours of observation, but not yet effective in turning off golden snails by more than 80%.Keywords: Rice plants, golden snail (Pomacea canaliculata L.), botanical insecticide

Abstract

Oil palm empty bunches are one of the solid wastes from the processing of fresh fruit bunches that have not been used optimally.  This study aims to obtain the best concentration of resin adhesives in the manufacture of particleboard from oil palm empty fruit bunches.  The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications in order to obtain 15 experimental units with a particle size of 16 meshof oil palm empty bunches.  Treatment of oil palm empty bunches with adhesive is 90%: 10%, 88%: 12%, 86%: 14%, 84%: 16%, 82%: 18%.  The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level.  The results showed that the composition of the empty fruit bunches of oil palm and resin adhesive significantly affected the density, water absorption, thickness expansion, elasticity modulus, and fracture modulus, but had no significant effect on moisture content.The best treatment chosen was treatment P5 with a density value of 0.85 g/cm3, water content of 5.81%, water absorption 61%, thickness development 53.33%, modulus of elasticity 1.607.46 kgf/cm2, modulus of fracture 14.52 kgf/cm2. Keywords: Particle board, oil palm empty bunches, resin adhesive

Abstract

Hydroponics wick system using AB Mix in some media of planting is expected capable of generating growth and power results of plant crocheted. The research aims to obtain a variety of planting media and the concentration of the best AB mix nutrients for the growth of kailan plants, conducted at the UPT Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from April 2019 to May 2019. Research in the form of 3x4 factorial experiment with Complete Random Design.Consists of 3 types of growing medium, huskchorcoal, cocopeat, sawdust while the nutrient solution consists of AB mix concentrations of 1000 ppm, 1200 ppm, 1400 ppm, 1600 ppm. The parameters observed, height plant, number of leaves, length of leaves, width of leaves, long roots, the diameter of the rod, fresh weight per plant, weight suitable for consumption per plant. Planting medium charcoal husk on the concentration of nutrients 1000 ppm resulted in the growth of plants kailan were good. Keywords: Hydroponics, growing medium and Nutrition AB mix
