Abstract

Goverment formed KKPA plantation system to develop palm oil plant in Indonesia, however lack of availability fertile land conduce peatlans as alternative to use as growth media palm oil plant. Peatland has some weakness, that are low soil pH and nutrient, therefore it is required nutrient supply as fertilizer. Implementation of fertilization should pay attention to 5 factors: right kind, dose, frequency, quality and fertilization techniques. This research aims to know implementation of fertilization, cultivation techniques and productivity of palm oil plant KKPA plantation system on peatlands in Rokan Hilir and Siak regency. This research use survey method and determination population in Stratified Random Sampling and number sample of farmer respondents 10% from populations. Variable of observation are seedlings, land preparation, cultivation, palm oil plant maintenance, fertilization and harvesting. The result show that KKPA farmer in Rokan Hilir regency only 39,27% which following fertilization concept while in Siak regency 63,29%. Harvest farmer in Rokan Hilir regency as much as       747,6 kg/ha/month which harvest result in Siak regency as much as              1.126,7 kg/ha/month.   Keywords: Palm oil, KKPA and Fertilization.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of effluent land application on PMK media and determine the good deposition of effluent land application dose on the growth of oil palm seeds in main nursery. The design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with giving effluent deposition application consist of 6 treatments that A0 (Without effluent deposition application), A1 (dose of 0,5 kg/plant), A2 (dose 1,0 kg/plant), A3 (dose of 1,5 kg/plant), A4 (dose of 2,0 kg/plant) and A5 (dose of 2,5 kg/plant). Parameters measured were the increase of plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, stump diameter and leaf area. Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance, then further tested using Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) at 5% level. Results of research shows giving the deposition effluent application for PMK planting media significantly effected on all parameters measured of oil palm seeds with the better treatment was dose of 2,0 kg/plant.   Keywords: effluent land application, ultisol, oil palm.

Abstract

Plant oil palm is the dominant plantation crops cultivated in Riau. Needs of oil palm seedlings increased with the expansion of the land and replanting. This research aims to study the application compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches(OPEFB) in the growth of oil palm seedlings in the nursery main- medium ultisol subsoil. This research was conducted in the greenhouse agriculture university faculty Riau, from September to December 2013. The study was carried out experiments using a completely randomized design ( CRD ), which consists of 4 treatments each ( 0 , 20 , 30 , and 40 tons of compost of OPEFB/ha ), each repoted 4 times. The results showed that application of compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches at a dose of 30 tones/ha can increase seedling height and diameter weeviloil palm are greater than the without compost and aplication 20 tons compost of OPEFB /ha. The increase of dose compost of OPEFB to 40 tons/ha increased seedling height and weevil diameter greates. Keyword: Palm oil, Ultisols and Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the dosage of the best bioslurry as organic fertilizer to support the growth of oil palm in main nursery. This research is conducted by using Complete Random Design (CDR) consist of 6 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times then obtained 24 experimental units, each experimental unit consist of 2 plants. The treatments are; LB0 : without bioslurry treatment, LB1 : 50 ml bioslurry/plant, LB2 : 100 ml bioslurry/plant, LB3 : 150 ml bioslurry/plant, LB4 : 200 ml bioslurry/plant, LB5 : 250 ml bioslurry/plant.The result of this research shows that the aplication of giving bioslurry has a real effect to increase the number of leaves and dry weight, and not effect et the height parameter of the oil palm, hump diameter, root volume, and root crown ratio. Aplication of 200 ml bioslurry dosage give the best result on oil palm growth in main nursery.   Keywords: oil palm, bioslurry, dosage.

Abstract

This research aimed to produce good Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) seedlings, which is planted on on some grows medium by giving organic liquid fertilizer. This research was conducted at Agriculture Faculty of Riau University, Pekanbaru, on 10 m above of the sea. Started from April to September 2014.  This research used Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors and three replictions. Factror I: grows medium with 3 levels, M1: Inceptisol soil, M2: Red Yellow Podzolik soil and M3: Peat soil. Factor II: concentration of organic liquid fertilizer with 3 levels, O1: 0%, O2: 0,78% and O3: 1,56%. Parameters observed were the seedlings height, stem diameter, number of leaves and leave area. The result  showed that the use of some grows medium and the organic fertilizer affect the growth of Cacao seedlings. But interaction between both of treatment not affect  the growth of Cacao seedlings. The combination of organic liquid fertilizer concentration 1,56% with Inceptisol soil tended to increase seedlings height and stem diameter, while the combination of organik liquid fertilizer concentration 1,56% with Peat soil tended to increase number of leaves and leave area. Abstract

The aim of this research is to identifity the effects and to get the  best dosage of TKKS compost combination with NPK fertilizer in red-yelow podzolic medium for cocoa seeds growth varieties forestero the age of 4 months. This research was conducted at the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Bina Widya street KM 12,5 Pekanbaru. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with some treatment dosage combination of TKKS compost with NPK fertilizer (P) consist of: P1=37.5 g Compost + NPK 7.5 g, P2= 37,5 g Compost + NPK 11.25 g, P3= 37,5 g Compost + NPK 15 g, P4= 75 g Compost + NPK 7.5 g, P5= 75 g Compost + NPK 11.25 g, P6= 75 g Compost + NPK15 g and consist of 3 replication. Data were analyzed statistically using variety of analysis and further test followed by Duncant’s test at 5 % level. Parameters observed were the seeds height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaves widht, root width ratio, dry seeds weight, NPK fertilizer efficiency and it relation with dry seeds weight. The result show by giving some treatment of TKKS compost combination with NPK fertilizer on medium podzolic red-yellow on cocoa seeds growth varieties forestero the age of 4 months not reveal significantly to all observed. Giving P1 tretment tend to produce better growth of cocoa seeds. It is seen from seeds  height, stem diameter and dry seeds weight. Giving P3 treatment gave the largest efficiency of using NPK fertilizer to 46.113%.   Keyword: TKKS compost, NPK fertilizer, Red-yellow podzolic medium, cocoa seeds

Abstract

Pakcoy is a type of mustard are cultivated by farmers. Plants pakcoy seen from the economic and business aspects should be developed to meet consumer demand higher and higher so that the necessary technical good farming. One of them with fertilization. Fertilizer that can be used for cultivation pakcoy one of them is by using Tricho - compost TKKS . This study aimed to determine the effect Tricho - compost application and get a better dose on growth and production Pakcoy . This study used a randomized block design (RBD ) consists of 5 treatments with 4 replicates . The treatment being tested is the use of multiple doses of Tricho - compost TKKS namely providing Tricho - compost TKKS with doses of 0 ( no Tricho - compost EFB ), 3, 6, 9 and 12 tons / ha. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and tested further by a further test DNMRT. The results showed multiple dose administration of Tricho - compost TKKS showed different effects on parameters of plant height, plant fresh weight and fresh weight of plants suitable for consumption, while for the parameter number and leaf area and root crown ratio did not show a different effect. Tricho - compost dosing TKKS with a dose of 9 tons / dose constitutethe best dose for plant height parameters, plant freshweightandplantfreshweight ofconsumable. Abstract

Sansevieria is potentially as ornamental plants, anti pollutants and medicinal plants which requires development through effort propogation. The aim of the research was to find out the effect of NAA and BA and the combination both of them for the success and bud growth on cutting Sansevieria. The research by giving NAA and BA was conducted at Green House of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau, started from September 2013 to March 2014. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) which consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were: A = without hormone, B = NAA 1 mg/l, C = BA 1 mg/l, D = NAA    1 mg/l + BA 1 mg/l and D = NAA 0,5 mg/l + BA 0,5 mg/l. Parameters observed were the survival percentage, percentage of root cuttings, number of roots, root length, root volume, percentage of bud growth, number of buds, bud length, number of leaf buds and number of bud roots. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further tested by using Duncan’s new multiple range test level 5%. The result showed that the growth of cutting Sansevieria not affected by NAA and BA either as singular or the combination. Abstract

The rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) is a kind of plant that produce rice which is the become main food for majority of Indonesian people. The total of people that rise increasingly must balance with the increasing of  rice production. One of the methods to get the increasing of rice production is applying the System of Rice Intensification (SRI).This research aims to determine the intraction of seeds number and the best fertilizer on the growth and production of lowland rice. The experiment sites in lowland field of Balai Benih Induk Holtikultura, Kaharudin Nasution Street, Padang Marpoyan, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province.Started on March Until July 2012. Research using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial, the first factor consists of 4 threatments (1 seed/hole,2 seeds/hole, 3 seeds/hole, 4 seeds/hole) and the second factor consists of  3 treatments: Fertilizer Urea, SP-36, KCl,  P1( 60, 30, 30) g,  P2 (90, 60, 60) g and P3 (120, 90, 90) g. The measured parameters were plant height, number of totaltillers, number of productive tillers, harvest, long tassel, tassel amount per branch, 1000 seed grain weight,  weight of dry unhusked rice per plot. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance and further test by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. The best treatment was obtained at 3 seeds per planting hole and Urea fertilizer dosage of 120 g/plot + SP-36 60 g/plot + KCl 60 g/plot to increase the production of milled rice per plot. Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine of yield potential 13 genotypes sweet sorghum and to get of 13 genotypes sweet sorghum to have high productivity. This research has conducted in field experiment and Plant Breeding Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru, from April 2013 to September 2013. The data were analyzed by analysis of variance consist of 13 treatments and 3 replications that contained 39 experimental units. These treatments consist of BATAN’s sweet sorghum strains, there are Patir-1, Patir-2, Patir-3, Patir-4, Patir-5, Patir-6, Patir-7, Patir-8, Patir-9, Patir-10 and 3 sweet Sorghum varieties as a comparison, there are Kawali, Mandau and Pahat. The genotypes treatments were significantly affect to plant height, number of segments per plant, panicle length, main panicle of seed weight, weight of 1000 seed but not significant affect of stem diameter, days to flowering, and seed weight /m2. Genotypes tested the ability of growth and yield different each genotypes. Genotypes   Patir-10 has the highest of seed weight are 3.78 ton /ha compared to other genotypes.
