Abstract

Nezara viridula is a pest that can reduce soybean production both in quality and quantity. Currently efforts in controlling N. viridula still use synthetic chemical insecticides that can have negative impacts. One solution to reduce reliance on synthetic chemical insecticide is the use of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana. The purpose of this study was to test the ability of several concentrations of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana Vuillemin Riau local green ladybugs for pest control N. viridula on soybean plants. Research prepared using completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment used is some concentration of B. bassiana consists of 6 treatments are: 0 g/ l of water, the concentration of B. bassiana 70 g / l of aquades, the concentration of B. bassiana 75 g / l of aquades, the concentration of B. bassiana 80 g / l of aquades , the concentration of B. bassiana 85 g / l of aquades, the concentration of B. bassiana 90 g / l of aquades. The results showed concentrations of B. bassiana 90 g / l of aquades is more effective in controlling N. viridula, but to fulfill the concept of integrated pest control concentration of 80 g / l of aquades (17.42 x 107 kon / ml) are considered better because it can lead to early N. viridula death for 64.25 hours, lethal time 50 (LT50) for 135.75 hours, and caused total mortality 85% for 9 days (209 hours). Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) and get the best treatment waste palm oil mill in the growing seed rubber stum mini. This research was conducted in experimental garden of Agriculture Riau University at Bina Widya of subdistrict Simpang Baru, district Tampan, Pekanbaru from April to July 2014. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications thus obtained 24 experimental units, each unit consist of 2 plants. The treatments are L0: not LCPKS, L1: 1,6 L LCPKS, L2: 2,4 L LCPKS, L3: 3,2 L LCPKS, L4: 4,0 L LCPKS and L5: 4,8 L LCPKS. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and followed by further test DNMRT at 5% level. The results of research  indicate that of effect of palm oil mill effluent real effect on the parameter of the root crown ratio, but had nod significant effect on parameters of height seed, number of leaves, tuber diameter, seed dry weight and rubber seeds roots volume.  Effect of 2,4 L LCPKS indicate the best growth in all of parameters but effect of 1,6 L LCPKS in volume of rubber seedling roots. Abstract

Edamame soybean is the plant from Japan. Edamame soybean production has a relatively short lifespan than regular soy because it is harvested when the pods are young. Bioslurry is one of organic material that can be applied as a liquid organic fertilizer on edamame soybean, but the giving of bioslurry only in the short term has not been able to occupied the nutrient requirements for edamame soybean, so it needs the addition of organic fertilizers such as  anorganic fertilizer N, P, K. This study aimed to get the interaction effect of bioslurry and N, P, K fertilizers on the growth and production of edamame soybean (Glycine max (L) Merrill) and get best treatment. This study was a factorial experiment arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The parameters observed were plant height, percentage of effective root nodules, plant dry weight, days to flowering, number of pods per plant, pod percentage pithy, weight of pods per plant and weight of pods per plot. The results showed that the interaction effect of bioslurry and fertilizer N, P, K did not affected the plant height and days to flowering and affected the percentage of effective root nodules, dry weight of pods per plant, pod percentage pithy weight of pods per plant and weight of pods per plot. Based on the research results of bioslurry application (500 ml /plant) and N, P, K (3.3+ 9.9+8.8)g/plot fertilizers gives the best results on the growth and production of soybean edamame. Abstract

Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is one of the cereal plants enriched by source of carbohydrates and protein. This study aimed to determine the effect of manure with NPK fertilizer combination to get the best combination of manure fertilizer with NPK on growth of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench). Research has been conducted on the Pangkalan Baru Village, District Siak Hulu, from January to April 2014. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of 3 treatments and 6 group. Thus obtained 18 experimental units. The treatment given is chicken manure, goat manure and NPK fertilizer. Parameters measured were plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, days to flowering and panicle length. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and proceed with further testing using the least significant difference (LSD) at 5% level. From the research that has been conducted granting combination of manure fertilizer with NPK fertilizer was significantly affecting the growth of plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, days to flowering and panicle length sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench). Giving of chicken manure with NPK fertilizer on a dose of 2 tons/ha and 600 kg/ha had given the best growth sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench). Abstract

This research aimed to study the giving effect of rice husk ash with good NPK fertilizer towards the growth and production of sweet corn in peat soil. This experiment was conducted at the experimental farm of the Agriculture Faculty, Rimbo Panjang, Kampar and carried out in Juni until September 2014. This research was carried out experimentally using randomized block design (RBD) non factorial consisted of 6 treatments with 4 repetitions which resulting 24 experimental plots. Each experimental unit consisted of 24 plants and 6 plants as samples. The treatments were: AN1: without rice husk ash with NPK 300 kg/ha (135 g/plot), AN2: rice husk ash 3 ton/ha (1350 g/plot) with NPK 300 kg/ha (135 g/plot), AN3: rice husk ash 6 ton/ha (2700 g/plot) with NPK 300 kg/ha (135 g/plot), AN4: without rice husk ash with NPK 600 kg/ha (270 g/plot), AN5: rice husk ash 3 ton/ha (1350 g/plot) with NPK 600 kg/ha (270 g/plot), AN6: rice husk ash 6 ton/ha (2700 g/plot) with NPK 600 kg/ha (270 g/plot). The results of experiment that was obtained using analysis of variance were tested further with  DNMRT (Duncan's New Multiple Range Test) at the level 5%. Based on the results of this research, the recommended doses are rice husk ash 3 ton/ha (1350 g/plot) and NPK 600 kg/ha (270 g/plot).   Keywords: sweet corn, rice husk ash, NPK fertilizer

Abstract

Sorghum is one of the agricultural that commodities that have known for a long time in indonesia. The study was conducted to determine the affect and get the best combination of manure Tricho-kompos on the growth of sorghum (sorghum bicolor. L). The research was carried out on the ground field PMK in field trials with pH 4,5 which is in the Pangkalan Baru village, subdistrict Siak Hulu, Kampar district. This research was carried out for 4 months starting in January 2014 until April 2014 that cooperated with LIPI. The experimental design used was a randomized complete block design consisting of 3 treatments and        6 groups, in order to obtain 18 units of trial. The first treatment is the provision of chicken manure, the second treatment is a combination of chicken manure with Tricho-kompos and the second treatment is a combination of goat manure with Tricho-kompos, with a spacing of 11 m x 5,5 m. The combination of chicken manure with Tricho-kompos showed the best results compared with                      a combination of goat manure with Tricho-kompos and only chicken manure.   Keyword: Manure, Sorghum varieties CTY33, Tricho-kompos

Abstract

Sweet corn is one of the crops that has a fairly large role in provide the nutritional needs of the people. One of the effort that can  be do to improve the growth and production of sweet corn is fertilization. Bioslurry can be used as an organic fertilizer to plants. Application of bioslurry is neeed to combine with an anorganic fertilizer that rich of elements such as  N P K  like Urea, TSP, KCl. This study aimed to know the effect of bioslurry and Urea, TSP, KClinteraction  on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) and get the best gift. This research was experimently using a Randomized Block Design (RBD), which are arranged in factorial, which consists of 2 factors and 3 replications. Parameters measured were plant height (cm), number of leaves (pieces), male flowers appear time, female flowers appear time (HST), weigth of cob with husk per plot (gram), weigth of cob without husk per plot (gram ), cob length (cm) and cob diameter (cm). The results showing the interaction of fertilizer application bioslurry and Urea, TSP, KCl fertilizer were not significant on all parameters observation. Bioslurry application significantly affected the number of  leaves and female flowers appear time, while the application of  Urea, TSP, KCl significantly affected plant height. Application 2.25 liter bioslurry and Urea 175 kg / ha of + TSP 125 kg / ha + KCl 75 kg / ha gives the best results. Keywords: sweet corn, bioslurry, Urea, TSP, KCl fertilizer.

Abstract

Chili is really needed to complete consumption of family needs and industrial fabrics. One of the attempting to increase chili’s production is by repairing of cultivation technique with bioactivator Trichoderma sp. precisely. It has been researched about at the application time of leguminous compost by bioactivator Trichoderma sp. towards the growth and production of chili (Capsicum annuum L.) in incubator Gauze House of Agribusiness, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau. This study was conducted from January to June 2014. The purpose of this study to invent the best application time of leguminous compost by bioactivator Trichoderma sp. towards the growth and production of chili and to determine all variables correlation. The research was implemented experimentally by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments as follows: application time of leguminous composts by bioactivator Trichoderma sp. two weeks before planting (W1), a week before planting (W2), on the planting time (W3), a week after planting (W4), two weeks after planting (W5). Every treatment consisted 3 replications, each experiment consisted 3 plants poly bags and they all be the sample. Observation parameters were stem diameter, dichotomous height, plant height, crown width, days to flowering, harvesting time, harvest quantity, fruit diameter, fruit length, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. The research result showed that the treatment of application time of compost differently has an influence towards the period of chili’s harvesting. The application of leguminous composts by bioactivator Trichoderma sp. two weeks before planting is the best treatment to speed the period of chili’s harvesting. Stem diameter, dichotomous height, plant height, days to flowering, harvesting time, harvest quantity, fruit diameter, fruit length  positivly correlated with fruit weight per plant but crown width negativly correlated with weight per fruit. Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of mixture of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste with water and get the best mixture on growth of oil palm seeds in main nursery. Research was conducted at the experimental farm of Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from March to July 2014. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consist of 6 treatments with 4 replication so obtained 24 units of experiment. The treatment were: without organic liquid fertilizer, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 9 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 14 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 19 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 24 liters of water, 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer + 29 liters of water. Parameters observed were the increase of seeds height, increase of leaves number, increase of hump diameter, root volume, root crown ratio and dry seeds weight. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's test at 5% level. The results showed that treatment mixture of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste with water affects on increase of seeds height, increase of hump diameter, increase of leaves number, root volume and dry seeds weight, but not affect on root crown ratio. A mixture of 1 liter of organic liquid fertilizer of market waste   + 29 liters of water gave better effect than other treatments on all observed parameters. Abstract

This studyaims to determine the effective eness of compound fertilizer and Cuon the vegetative growth of oil palm (Elaeisguineensis Jacq.) inpeat land.This research has been carried out in village Rantau Bais ,sub-district Tanah Putih, Rokan Hilir regency from March to July 2014. This study used arandomized block design (RBD) factorial consisting of two factors. First factoris thedoses of compound fertilizer NPK (M),consists of 4 levels is: without NPK fertilizer, 400g/plant NPKfertilizer application, 600g/plant NPK fertilizer as and 800g/plant NPK fertilizer. Second factoris thedoses of Cu(C)fertilizerin4levels is: withoutCu fertilizer application, 25g/plant Cufertilizer application, 50g/plant fertilizer application and 75g/plant Cufertilizer aplication. Parameter observed was the increase in plant height, number of fronds, added girth and length fronds. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA followed by Duncan’s test at the 5% level. The results showed that the best interaction demonstrated by NPK compound fertilizers of 800 g/plant and fertilizer Cu of 75 g/plant was effective in increasing the length of the stem but not effective in increasing plant height, number of fronds and increase girth. The NPK compound fertilizers are not effectivelyall parameters. Copper fertilizer of 75 g/plant was effective in increasing the length of the stem, but not effectively for other parameters.  Keywords : Cu, peat, oil palm, compound fertilizer.
