Abstract

Project management in construction covers both time and cost control. Any delay related to construction work may result in cost escalation of which the contractor of the project should pay. The construction of Simpang Petai – Sari Galuh (Majapahit) road project is having work delay along the way to its completion. The work completion at week 32nd can only be fulfilled at 26,08% from its initial target of 37,35% resultingin the project having a marginal delay of 11,27%. Such delay on project should be treated by accelerating the works on the project on the remaining works. Work acceleration can be done by using overtime work alternative, equipment and worker addition alternative, and shift work system alternative. The analysis conducted focuses on works that are in critical line. From the analysis result, it can be obtained cost addition from each alternative used to accelerate works. Cost addition from the analysis are;Rp.5.221.985.034,25 from overtime work alternative; Rp.14.352.243.801,50 from equipment and worker addition alternative; and Rp.11.001.593.778,46 from shift work system alternative. Keywords : construction delay, construction cost, duration control, overtime work, equipment and worker addition, shift work.

Abstract

Coastal area has an important role for the people who live nearby but it is prone to damage. The damage to the coastal area require countermeasures so that its impact can be minimised or eliminated. Prior to countermeasure, vulnerability analysis needs to be done by specifying coastal vulnerability index (CVI). This research was conducted along the northern coast of Bengkalis Island which is directly adjacent to Malacca Strait. Coastal vulnerability index is calculated with the value of the physical variables such as shoreline changes, visual observation, the length and width of the damage, the width of the green belt, lithology, wave height, tidal range, land use, and coastal slope. The required data for the research are landsat imagery, hydro-oceanography, bathymetry, and visual observation of damage. Results of anaysis showed that Simpang Ayam Village, Jangkang Village, Teluk Papal Village, Bantan Air Village, Teluk Pambang Village have very high coastal vulnerability. Sekodi Village has high coastalvulnerability. Area that has a moderate coastal vulnerability is Prapat Tunggal Village. Selat Baru Village, Teluk Kembung Luar Village, dan Teluk Lancar Village have low vulnerability.Keys word: Coastal vulnerablity Index (CVI), Landsat Imagery, Prone to damage

Abstract

Data availability for hidrologic modeling usually become a problem because of incompleteness and imprecision data. The development of advanced technology recently encourage the development of hydrological modeling by using remote sensing data. This research conducted rainfall-runoff modeling using remote sensing data and ground rainfall data with Integrated Flood Analysis System (IFAS) tools and took a case study in Tapung Kiri sub-watershed in Riau Province. This model was simulated and calibrated with rainfall-runoff periode of forward verification (2005-2006) and backward verification (2006-2005). The results of this research shows that the model to be optimal after calibration process in rain satellite data backward verification period from 1 January to 31 December 2005 by corellation value (R) 0.75, volume error (VE) of 3.22%, and coefficient of efficiency (CE) 0.9. It means that this model has a high degree of association with measurement data (0,7 < R < 1,0), the difference of volume can be tolerated ( VE < 5%), and effiency of this modeling with measurement discharge is highly efficient (CE > 0,75).Key words : rainfall-runoff modeling, satellite data, ground rainfall data, IFAS Model

Abstract

Sei paku irrigation area is located in Kampar Kiri District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, this irrigation area is specifically planned for rice fields with total area of ± 1000 Hectares. Function change from agricultural land into fish ponds and palm plantation resulted potential land decrease to ± 350 Hectares. Uncontrolled water utilization for fish pond, channels leakage and influence of meteorological factors resulted water supply shortage for agricultural land and water deficit for certain month.Analysis of evapotranspiration, effective precipitation, percolation and water replacement are used to determine the value of the rice water requirement of plant and crops planting. Fish pond water demand and oil palm plantations is used as a reduction of the value of intake discharge, which then the rest of discharge will be used as a main rate of flow for fulfilling plants water needs. In March, May and July crop water requirement is greater than the mainstay discharge, then a simulation done by allocation of planting schedule that is 5 group for rice planting and 3 group for crops planting. The results showed that planting schedule can reduce the value of the maximum water deficit in the existing condition that is 0.36 m3 / s to 0.041 m3 / s or decreased 88.61%, but the deficit is still occurs. So it is necessary to do a Long Storage planning with 2000m long, width 5m and 5m depth with a land area of 1.2 hectares which function as water reservoir that can be used to fulfilling the crops water needs on dry meteorological conditions. Keywords: Sei Paku Irrigation Area, water deficit, water balance, critical discharge, weirs, and long storage
