Abstract

Abstract:This research was aimed to find out how the use of Numbered HeadsTogether Strategy (NHT) Numbered Heads Together Strategy (NHT) in seven studiescan improve/effect on the students’ reading comprehension. This research was libraryresearch by scollecting seven journalson the use of NHT strategy for junior high schoolstudents in comprehending narrative texts as the sources of data. The data wereanalyzed by implementing Descriptive Analysis and Content Analysis. The result of dataanalysis showed that implementing NHT could improve students’ readingcomprehension. It was as shown in the finding of this study in which the use of NHT incomprehending narrative texts for Junior High School students was constructive interms of the stages and inspiring in terms of the students’ ability in comprehendingnarrative texts. Based on the result of this study, it is expected that it can be used asbasic information or reference to conduct other researches because Numbered HeadsTogether provides more opportunities for students to help each other in mastering thematerial and to actively engage them in solving the problems. It is also suggested forfurther researchers to apply Numbered Heads Together for other skills and other kindgenres of texts.Key Words: Numbered Heads Together, Reading Comprehension,Narrative Text, Analysis

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to find out how is the students’ ability in comprehending English reading texts at SMAN 1 XIII Koto Kampar. The design of the research was one class for the try-out test and one class for the real test. The population was the eleventh-grade students of academic 2020/2021. The sample was 25 students of class XI MIPA 2 which were chosen by using a lottery. The data were collected by giving a test with 50 multiple-choice questions. Question number 1-25 deals with descriptive text, and 26-50 was recount text. The result of the data shows that the mean score of the students' ability in comprehending English reading texts is 55.52 which means categorized into the mediocre level. The mean score of the students' ability in comprehending descriptive text is 56.8 and categorized into the mediocre level, the difficult aspect for students in comprehending descriptive text is in identifying reference with the mean score is 53.32 that categorized into mediocre level and the easiest aspect is in finding main idea with the mean score is 65.32 and categorized into good level. In recount text, the researcher found out that the mean score is 54.24 which categorized into mediocre level, the difficult aspect for students in comprehending recount text is in finding social function with the mean score is 44 and categorized into mediocre level. Otherwise, the easiest aspect is in identifying inference with the mean score is 61.32 and categorized into good level.Key Words: Students’ Ability, Reading Comprehension, Descriptive Text, Recount Text

Abstract

Abstract: The learning tools developed are physics learning tools in the form of Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Student Worksheet (LKPD) and Material Mastery Test based on Gasing Method. The purpose of this study was to produce Learning Tools on valid Harmonic Vibration materials. This research is expected to be a reference in making reference in making a valid learning device, especially in harmonious vibration material. This type of research is Research and Development (R &D) using 4D Models. This research is only conducted until the development stage. The research instrument used is the Learning Device Instrument validation assessment sheet used by the validator to assess the learning device. Data analysis in this study using descriptive analysis, by calculating the validation score of each indicator of the learning device. The results showed that The Gasing Method-Based Learning Tool was declared valid with an average validation of 3.06 with a high category (T), so that the learning device is declared worthy of use in learning for the mastery of the material of harmonious vibration of class X SMA.Key Words: Learning Tools, Gasing Method, Harmonious Vibration.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was motivated by the difficulties of parents in helping and guiding children in learning at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. The formulation of the problem in this study is how are parents' perceptions of online learning in schools in the coastal Singkep District, Lingga Regency? The research objective was to find out how parents' perceptions of online learning in schools in Singkep Pesisir District, Lingga Regency. The benefit of the research results is that it becomes a source of learning for all parties, especially parents in responding to online learning that children undergo while at home. This research method is descriptive quantitative, the data collection instrument used in this study is a questionnaire consisting of 5 indicators with 24 questions. The population in this study were all parents of students in schools in the Singkep Pesisir District, Lingga Regency. The sample in this study was taken using a proportional sampling technique. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the overall data regarding parents' perceptions of online learning in schools throughout the Singkep Pesisir District, Lingga Regency is in the "Agree" category. Strongly Agree amounts to 13.42% plus the Agree results with the amount of 66.35%. that is, the sum is 79.77% with the presence in the range 68.01% - 84.00%. Thus, Parents' Perception of Online Learning in Schools in Singkep Pesisir District, Lingga Regency is "Good". Key Words: Perception, Parents, Online Learning.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by problems that arise in the principle of learning student activeness as seen from individual assignments and group assignments. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the teacher's perception of the principle of active learning of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru. The research objective was to determine how the implementation of the principles of learning activeness of Class VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru. The benefits of research results for teachers are to provide an overview of teachers 'perceptions of the principles of learning activeness of class VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru and become a reference for how active grade VII students are according to teachers' perceptions of the learning principles of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru. This research method is a descriptive quantitative method of data collection instruments used in this study, namely a questionnaire consisting of 25 questions with 2 indicators. The population in this study were class VII teachers of SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru. The sample in this study was taken using a saturated sample technique. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the overall data regarding teachers' perceptions of the principles of learning activeness of class VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Pekanbaru are in the "Good" category. "Very Good" amounted to 17.6% plus the calculation results of respondents who answered "Good" with a total of 54%, namely the sum of 71.6%, where this range is in the "Good" category with an existence in the range of 50.01% - 75%. It can be concluded that the Teacher's Perception of the Principles of Learning Activity in Class VII Junior High School 37 Pekanbaru is at the "Good" level.Key Words: Perception, Teacher, Learning Principles of Activeness

Abstract

The SETS-Based Module is a teaching material that is systematically arranged in language that is easily understood by students according to their level of understanding and age so that it can be used for independent study. This module is structured using a SETS (Science, Environment, Technology and Society) approach which is integrated with each other. This SETS-based module consists of material descriptions, interesting experiments, questions and discussions, practice questions and articles containing technological literacy. The purpose of this research is to produce teaching materials in the form of SETS-based modules that are valid and suitable for use in physics learning in class XI SMA on Sound and Light Waves in an effort to improve students' technological literacy. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using a 4D development model. The research instrument used in this study was a module validation sheet. Quantitative and qualitative data were obtained from the results of the validator's assessment. The results showed that the SETS-based module development on sound and light waves was valid with a score of 3.41. Thus the SETS-based module on Class XI Sound and Light Waves in an effort to improve technological literacy can be declared valid and worthy of testing in physics learning.Keywords: Module Development, SETS, Sound and Light Waves, Technology Literacy

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the scientific literacy skills of students ofclass VII in Junior high school Pekanbaru City based on the 2015 PISA questions. Theschools sampled were SMP Negeri 4 Pekanbaru, SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru and SMPNegeri 22 Pekanbaru. This research is descriptive quantitative, determining the sampleusing the stratified random sampling technique, namely the sampling technique that isdone when the population is heterogeneous and the total sample obtained is 104students. This type of research data was obtained from the answers to the 2015 PISAquestions given to students. Data was collected by distributing PISA 2015 questionstaken from the e-book Take The Test Sample Question From OECD's PISA Assessmentin Indonesian translation. The 2015 PISA questions containing scientific literacy weretranslated as many as 14 questions containing biological content. Online sample datacollection using Microsoft word and google form. The data analysis technique wascarried out by calculating the percentage of mastery of scientific literacy in the aspectsof competence and knowledge and analyzed descriptively based on the criteria forscientific literacy abilities. To analyze the data on the results of the 2015 PISA questionanswer test, the scoring was done manually using the answer key obtained from thePISA released science item. The results showed that the achievement of scientificliteracy skills of students of class VII SMP Kota Pekanbaru was 24% with very poorachievement criteria.Key Words: Analysis, Scientific Literacy, PISA 2015 Questions

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of group cohesiveness on the entrepreneurial attitude of the members of the ta'lim council in Maredan Barat Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The formulation of the problem in this study is Is there a significant and positive influence of group cohesiveness on the entrepreneurial attitudes of members of Majelis Ta'lim in Maredan Barat Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency? This study consisted of 2 variables, namely the group cohesiveness variable (X) and the entrepreneurial attitude variable (Y), where the group cohesiveness variable (X) had 4 indicators and the entrepreneurial attitude variable (Y) had 6 indicators. The population in this writing is the members of the Majelis Ta'lim Kampung Maredan Barat, Tualang Siak District, as many as 344 members of the Majelis Ta'lim. The sampling technique with stratified random sampling used was proportionate stratified random sampling, which is a sampling technique in which the population has heterogeneous members or elements and has proportional stratification. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire technique, which amounted to 75 statements for the group cohesiveness variable (X) and 99 statements for the entrepreneurial attitude variable (Y). Data obtained from respondents, amounting to 20 people for the trial sample and 78 people for the research sample. After the questionnaire was tested, there were 17 invalid statements on the group cohesiveness variable and 28 invalid statements on the entrepreneurial attitude variable, and the researcher discarded invalid statements. Based on the descriptive analysis based on variables, it is obtained the level of entrepreneurial attitudes in the environment around the members of the ta'lim council with a mean magnitude of 4.29 which is at a very high interpretation.Based on descriptive analysis based on variables, the level of group cohesiveness in the environment around assembly members is obtained. ta'lim with a mean magnitude of 4.10 which is in the high interpretation. Obtained a significant influence between the group cohesiveness variable (X) on entrepreneurial attitudes (Y) Members of the Ta'lim Council in Maredan Barat Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency, the big influence is 27.1% with a high interpretation, because there are still 72.9% determined by other factors that are not part of this writing.Key Words: Group Cohesiveness, Entrepreneurial Attitude, Members Of The Ta'lim Assembly

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of learning facilities at home and interest on student learning motivation in Economics in class XI Ips SMA Negeri 4 Kundur. The background of this research is the student's learning motivation which is still low in the Economics subject. This research was conducted on class XI Ips SMA Negeri 4 Kundur with a total student population of 89 students. In this study, using a saturated sampling technique (census), in which the entire population was sampled because the population was less than 100. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire containing questions to measure learning motivation, learning facilities at home and interest in learning which were distributed to class XI Ips SMA Negeri 4 Kundur as respondents. Meanwhile, secondary data is in the form of data on school profiles which was carried out in April 2019/2020 odd semester at SMA Negeri 4 Kundur. The data collected was then tabulated and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 22. The results showed that learning facilities and interest in learning had an effect on student learning motivation in class XI Ips SMA Negeri 4 Kundur with the regression equation Y = 15,924 + 0,535 x1 + 0.864x2 and contributes to student learning motivation by 36%.Key Words: Factors, Learning Interests, Learning Facilities At Home, Learning Motivation

Abstract

Abstract: Knowledge about the development of learning with the practicummethod is one of the initial assets of Biology Education students to becomeprofessional biology teachers. But in reality, there are still students who have notmastered the competencies related to practicum activities. Based on these problems,this study aims to produce an independent learning resource in the form ofvisualization in the design and implementation of school biology practicum in the formof a video equipped with a guidebook. This research was conducted at the PMIPALaboratory FKIP Riau University, SMAN 8 Pekanbaru and SMAN 15 Pekanbaru inApril-December 2020. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D)which refers to the ADDIE model. The instruments used in this study were validationsheets and response questionnaires. The results of the visualization product validationobtained an average score of 3.57 (video) and 3.39 (guidebook) with very validcategories. The results of the limited trial phase I obtained an average value of 3.64(video) and 3.72 (guidebook) with very good categories. Meanwhile, the results of thesecond phase of the trial obtained an average value of 3.43 (video) and 3.47(guidebook) with very good categories. Based on the results of the validation andtesting, it shows that the visualization products in the design and implementation ofthe developed school biology practicum can be used as a source of independentlearning for prospective biology teachers.Key Words: Implementation, Design, Practicum, Visualization
