Abstract

Breadfruit is one type of versatile plant that is of economic value because itproduces fruit with a fairly high nutritional content. Breadfruit plants havediverse morphological variations, so their morphological variations can be usedas a way to determine a type of breadfruit, especially whether the quality issuperior or not. This study aims to determine the morphological variations ofbreadfruit plants (Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Forsberg) originating fromvillages in Bekasi City. The stages of this study include observation andobservation of morphological characters ranging from trees, leaves, flowers andfruits. Breadfruit plants in Bekasi city have an average height of ±11.5 m, withthe highest breadfruit plants reaching 12.90 m and the lowest 7.9 m, the largestbreadfruit stem circumference is 125 cm and the smallest is 98.5 cm, thelargest breadfruit canopy diameter is 4.67 m and the smallest is 6.14 m, theshape of the canopy of the Breadfruit plant in Bekasi city is irregular, pyramidsand pyramids are broad, the leaves of the Breadfruit plant in Bekasi city, ingeneral, have the same shape, namely dark green, rhombus-shaped withpinnate leaf bones, tapered leaf tips and leaf edges are enamelled, the maleflowers of Breadfruit are in the form of a whole with a diameter of up to 5 cmand a length of 45 cm consisting of many individual flowers, tubular flowerscontaining a single stamen with two anthers on thick filaments, male and femaleflowers on breadfruit plants are separated in the same plant, the morphology ofbreadfruit in the city of Bekasi has the characteristics of a rounded shape, thesurface of the skin of the fruit is prickly, if palpable it feels rough, as well aswhite fruit flesh.

Abstract

The intensity of light will affect the physiological processes of the plant. When the light intensity is high, the leaf cells will be smaller, the amount of chlorophyll is less, and the thylakoids in the leaves clump so that this can affect the growth of mung bean plants. In order to compare the growth in a bright environment with the growth of green beans in a dark environment, this research on the advantages of the influence of sunlight on the germination process of green beans was conducted. Plants must have access to light in order to complete the process of photosynthesis. Because light interferes with the function of the growth hormone (auxin), plants that receive more light from the environment experience growth inhibition, resulting in shorter stems than plants that receive less light.

Abstract

The epidermis is the layer of cells on the outside and covers the surface ofleaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, stems and roots. The function of the epidermis isto protect the internal organs of the plant. Based on its function, the epidermiscan develop and undergo modifications like stomata and trichomes. Thisresearch was conducted with the aim of identifying one of the epidermalderivatives in plants from the Asteridae subclass. In this study, the method usedto observe epidermal cells was the Halsil descriptive method obtained based onresearch the form of the epidermis on some leaves of the Asteridae subclass, including the frangipani plant (Plumeria) which has stomata of the parasitictype. Furthermore, eggplant (Solanum melongena) has non-glandular typetrichomes. After that, the cayenne pepper (Capsicum sp) had anisocytic type ofstomata. Then the tomato plant (Lypersicum esculentum) has anomocytic typeof stomata. In addition to the derived form of the epidermis on the leaves, thereare stomata, trichomes, bulforms, lithocyte cells and myrosin. Furthermore, inthe stem there are silica cells and cork cells. Then at the root there are roothairs and velamen. Derivatives of the epidermis, Stomata, Trichomes.

Abstract

Birds have ecological, economic, and socio-cultural roles. Birdwatching is use of birds for tourism by seeing or hearing bird directly in nature. The GGPNP has potential for developed as a birdwatching destination. The research aims to identify the bird diversity and their distribution for the development of birdwatching at the Situgunung Resort and the Cimungkad Resort, GGPNP. The research was conducted in April-June 2022 in seven tracks using the IPA method. Qualitative data analysis was carried out on the bird status, while quantitative data analysis was carried out for diversity index, evenness index, and encounter opportunities. The bird diversity found was 50 species from 23 families and seven orders spread over seven observation tracks. Thirteen bird species are protected, three species are the CITES Appendix II, and two species are the IUCN Red List. The most common bird species were found on the Orchid Tourism Track while the least were found on the Cimungkad Tourism Track. Natural forest habitats support a wider variety of birds than any other habitat. The diversity index and evenness index are the high category. Most of the bird species fall into the category of very hard to find. All tracks have the potential to be developed as birdwatching routes.

Abstract

The phenotype of a living thing is determined by the DNA sequence inherited from the male and female parents. The phenotype of a cross on sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) cannot be predicted using Mendel's Law rules because the dominance/recessive trait in the parents is not known, as a result of self sterility. This study aims to describe the morphological structure of tubers and leaves resulting from natural crosses of Asesi Antin 1 and Beta 2 sweet potatoes. The study was conducted in an observational non-experimental manner on plants resulting from natural crosses of sweet potato Antin 1 with Beta 2 assesion. All seeds resulting from the crosses were germinated in soil : sand media with a ratio of 3: 1. Furthermore, the growing sprouts were planted in plastic pots with a diameter of 30 cm with a medium consisting of soil: sand: compost = 3: 2: 1,then harvested after 7 months of age. The tuber morphological structures observed were shape tuber character, skin color predominant, and tuber flesh predominant color characters, while the leaf morphological structures observed were circumscriptio, margo folii, number of lobus, and the leaf vein color. The number of seedlings that managed to grow to maturity was 10 plants and had a variety of tuber and leaf morphological structures One plant did tubers, and the other 9 plants produced of tubers. The morphological characteristics of the tubers and leaves of all individuals were as follows: 1) tuber shape characters, rounded, oblong and obovate for 1 plant each, long irregular, long oblong and ovate for 2 plants each; 2) the dominant color of tuber skin, 1 plant was purple, 5 plants were cream, and 3 plants were red; 3) the dominant color characters of tuber flesh were purple and white-purple each 3 plants, 2 plants were yellow-white and 1 plant was yellow; 4) the character of circumscriptio of triangular leaves is 3 plants and the cordatus leaves is 7 plants; 5) the character of the margo folii, 3 plants are palmati fidus, 5 plants are palmati partitus and 1 plant is palmati lobus; 6) the character of the number of lobes, 3 lobes is 3 plants, 5 lobes is 5 plants, 4 and 7 lobes is 1 plant each; and 7) the character of the vein of leave, green veins is 8 plants, purple and purple at the base only is 1 plant each.
