Abstract

This study examines the contribution of the Regional Leaders of Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro in an effort to stem the outbreak of the radicalism movement. The problem is limited to the following: (1) What are the views (regarding the definition, characteristics, and statements of agreeing or disagreeing) of Muhammadiyah leaders in Bojonegoro towards the Islamic radicalism movement? (2) What efforts can be taken by Muhammadiyah in Bojonegoro in stemming the spread of Islamic radicalism in society, especially in Bojonegoro? (3) In the field of da’wah, what strategies are used to minimize the possibility of spreading Islamic radicalism in society? The results of this study are: First, regarding the definition of radicalism according to figures and leaders of Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro, it is understood as a movement that wants to completely change the social order in unconstitutional ways. Among Muhammadiyah figures in Bojonegoro considers that radicalism is a product of conspiracy, so that in this context the meaning of radicalism is biased. However, all Bojonegoro Muhammadiyah leaders agreed that Muhammadiyah refused and would fight radicalism. Second, among the efforts/contributions of the Bojonegoro Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders in overcoming radicalism are manifested in various work programs such as implementing the policies of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership to enlighten the community by showing the face of Islam that is rahmatan li al-‘alamin. Third, Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro does not use a special strategy either in the field of da’wah and in other fields related to combating radicalism, because in general the Muhammadiyah movement from the central level to the lowest level is a movement that shows the spirit of wasathiyah/moderate, inclusive, and promotes tolerance. But the most tangible contribution made by Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro is to instill moderate religious understanding in the community in a structured and systematic manner. The contribution of this research is to provide solutions for the government and society in general on how to spread the spirit of religious moderation structured and systematic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the implementation of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik contract in the conception of Luzumu al-‘Aqdi. The approach method used in this research was sociological juridical. The results of this study indicated that the implementation of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik contract at Bank Syariah Indonesia (Indonesian Sharia Bank, BSI) Semarang Branch Office in the concept of Luzumu al-‘Aqdi actually shows the occurrence of legal uncertainty. This is because the implementation of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik contract should only be carried out through buying and selling, not grants. The implementation of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik contract can only use a sale and purchase contract because this contract is part of the ijarah contract which aims to obtain profit or profit, while the grant contract is one of the tabarru’ contracts which aims to help each other and seek the pleasure of Allah alone. Besides that, implementation of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik contract settlement through the sale of the Ijarah Muntahiya bi at-Tamlik object results in legal uncertainty, so that this has the potential to harm the musta’jir or the debtor in the event of bad credit or default. This is because the musta’jir or debtor should not be said to have debt, considering that the contract that is built is ijarah first which will end with ownership through buying and selling or grants, not buying and selling which is required by ijarah because its implementation is carried out in installments.

Abstract

This article examines the shift in the meaning of religious texts that transform from exclusive to inclusive in the book Abyan al-Hawāij by K.H. Ahmad Rifa’i. This reinterpretation of the text is given that the conflicts that occurred between the Rifa’iyah group and non-Rifa’iyah residents were mostly caused by the Rifa’iyah group’s textual reading of religious texts that were exclusive. This article reviews exclusive religious texts by showing their historicity (historical function), meaning development (meaning function), and implicative function (implicative function) in order to show a more proportional new meaning. The approach used in this study is hermeneutics of Gracia, critical discourse analysis of Fairclough, and intertextual of Kristeva. The analysis is focused on looking back at the structure of the text (textual analysis), the discourse built by the author (discursive analysis), and the socio-cultural practices surrounding the text. Hermeneutically, the text is then seen in terms of its historical function, the function of developing its meaning, and the function of its implications within the framework of the cultural function of the text. The results of the research show that the exclusive religious text in Abyan al-Hawāij is an oppositional and confrontational text built by the author as a response to the Dutch colonial socio-cultural and political realities in the archipelago at that time. Therefore, reading these texts must also see the discourse of the text. These texts actually have many meanings (multi-vocality). In principle, these meanings are equally acceptable in line with their respective discourses. Reading the exclusive text in Abyan al-Hawāij in the current era of religious tolerance and harmony requires understanding the historicity of the text so as not to get stuck in an exclusive understanding of religion.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the implementation of Islamic work ethics among working women in small and medium enterprises. This study used a questionnaire distributed to employees of SMEs, especially Muslim women in Kudus. Among the total of 300 questionnaires distributed, only 217 were returned, which related to the understanding of the role of women employees in the practice of Islamic work ethics. Based on the findings of the study, workers thrive in the five dimensions of Islamic work ethic, namely benevolence (ihsan), hardworking and maximum effort (mujahadah), competitiveness, self-discipline, and good intentions (niyyah).    Muslim women workers have the knowledge and awareness to apply the Islamic work ethic by promoting Islamic values in the workplace. These results have implications for micro-entrepreneurs to implement a work ethic based on Islamic values because it positively affects the behavior of Muslim women workers.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the development of philosophical Sufism of the Wahdat al-Wujūd school or in Malay-Nusantara term called Wujūdiyya. The research approach uses descriptive analysis. The research data use references related to the Wahdat al-Wujūd study. The research findings show that the essence of Sufism is philosophical Sufism. In the early days, philosophical Sufism focused on the philosophical meaning of some verses of Al-Qur’an. The early generations of philosophical Sufism were taught, among others, by Rabi’ah al-Adawiyah and Sufyān ats-Tsaurī. The philosophical study of Sufism was started by Dhu’nūn al-Misrī. Then followed by Abū Yazid al-Bistamī with Hulūl teachings and Abū Mansūr al-Hallaj with Ittihad teachings. The teachings of Hulūl and Ittihad were then questioned by ‘Ain al-Qudhad Hamadanī, because these concepts necessitate duality, even though Wahdat al-Wujūd does not accept dual existence. ‘Urafā at that time did not have adequate language tools to teach Wahdat al-Wujūd. It was only at the time of Ibn ‘Arabī that Wahdat al-Wujūd could be explained systematically and holistically, because at the time of Ibn ‘Arabī, philosophical language was very mature thanks to al-Hikmah al-Masya’iyyah, especially by Ibn Sīnā.

Abstract

This article aims to highlight the position of 'Allāl and Sahal in the development of Maqāṣid al-Syar'a theory and its application to political, social, and economic problems. The approach is carried out by examining their intellectual career background, examining the theory of the development of Maqāṣid al-Syar'a theory and how they implement it. As a result, 'Allal and Sahal took different positions about Maqāṣid al-Syar'a, although in the and they produced similar or almost the same legal opinions. They both propose a democratic government, an economy that prioritizes the interests of the community, and social conditions that prioritize the interests of women. The dominant difference lies in the characteristics of the choice of sources that indicate affiliation. ' Allāl more often refers to the Qur'an and Sunnah as recommended by the Salafis. While Sahal more often refers to the fiqh tradition advocated by traditional schools, by accommodating modern theories, such as philosophy and social sciences. At this point, the author argues that the concept of Maqāṣid al-Syar'a is a meeting point for various tendencies rooted in the Sunni intellectual tradition, including the different tendencies espoused by 'Allāl and Sahal.

Abstract

This article examines the existence of a tradition and the content of the values of the Islamic scriptures (Al-Qur’an and Hadith) inherent and practiced in the Gugur Gunung tradition carried out by the community in Gunungpring Village, Magelang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed qualitatively through Karl Mannheim’s sociological perspective of knowledge into three meanings: objective, expressive, and documentary. The results of the study are presented as follows. The objective meaning of the Gugur Gunung tradition is a tradition that has existed for a long time and is still being maintained today in various conditions. While expressive meaning can be captured two inherent meanings, namely the meaning of life in the later days and the meaning of the inheritance of past lives from ulama. The documentary meaning of this tradition is to foster harmonization (gotong royong, tolerance, please help) and as a medium of spirituality education for the community in maintaining a tradition. Through reading the Sociology of Knowledge using the three meanings above, it can be understood that the existence of a tradition that can survive in society will always continue to be preserved if two aspects are built that are bound together. First, internally there is a spiritual belief in  the values of the past and life in the later days. Secondly, externally, it deals with the order of socio-religious harmonization in society. The various values inherent in this tradition are in line with the teachings of the Islamic scriptures. Thus these values will continue to be produced and practiced in life in society.

Abstract

This writing discusses ta’abbudi and ta’aqquli in Islamic jurisprudence, aiming to provide comprehensive insight into both of these terms. Positioning oneself as a mukallaf (a responsible and accountable individual), on one hand, acknowledges that acts of worship (ta’abbudi) must be fully accepted, whether or not one comprehends their meanings, as they are divine commands. Similarly, on the other hand, a mukallaf is granted the authority and capability to employ reason in dealings with worldly matters (mu’amalah), enabling the development of laws in accordance with the changing times. In the context of Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance, at-Ta’abbud and at-Ta’aqqul hold significant relevance. Article 10, paragraphs (1) and (2), regulate the requirements for halal products, encompassing raw materials, production processes, storage, as well as processing, handling, and packaging procedures. This indicates that at-Ta’abbud plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with halal product requirements. Furthermore, Article 10, paragraph (3), emphasizes that halal products must be verified by accredited halal certification bodies. This underscores the importance of at-Ta’aqqul in analyzing and verifying the halal status of products.
