Abstract

Organization climate determines the favorable or unfavorable work environment to the people inside the organization. Favorable work environment maintains the worker from turning over and affects the work satisfaction. The research objectives may be: (1) to observe the effect of leader behavior, work motivation, communication flow and decision making practice simultaneously on work satisfaction, and (2) to find out the effect of leader behavior, work motivation, communication flow and decision making practice partially on work satisfaction. Research has been classified in to explanatory research. The population includes all employees of Turen Public Health Center at Malang in 2010. Sample covers 41 respondents. Research instrument relates to questionnaire. Analysis tool considers Multiple Regression with Ftest and t-test.Results of multiple linear regression analysis indicate that the significant effect develops simultaneously and partially from all variables in the organization climate concept (variables of organization behavior, work motivation, communication flow, decision making practice) against all variables in the employee’s work satisfaction concept. It seems being confirmed through determination coefficient for organization climate effect (leader behavior, work motivation, communication flow, and decision making practice) on employee’s work satisfaction for 34.2%.Keywords: Organization Climate, Work Satisfaction

Abstract

The main problem of this research is the influence of various intelligence and motivation to Senior High School teachers’ performance at Jayapura Municipality. The objective of this research is to reveal empirically the influence of intellectual, emotional and spiritual intelligence, extrinsic and intrinsic motivation to the Senior High School teachers’ performance at Jayapura city/municipality. This research uses quantitative method and supported by qualitative method (mixed method). The total of the population of this research is 225 teachers. From these populations there 114 teachers are taken as samples by using systematic sampling technique. Technique of collecting data conducted by RPM intelligence test, questionnaire EQ, SQ, extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation, and APKG questionnaire (Teacher Performance Appraisal Instrument). All sorts of these questionnaires refer to Likert scale. Before administering this questionnaire, it has been conducted try out on 40 teachers to see its reliability and its validity. Data analysis uses multiple regression analysis technique and qualitative analysis. The findings of this research indicate influence among intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation to teachers’ performance positively and significantly. It means that the higher the intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence, extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation the higher their influence on performance. The three kinds of intelligences and two kinds of motivation variables of this research has given various contributions on performance. Among the five variables of this research, extrinsic motivation has the most dominant influence toward performance. In terms of intelligence variables, the intellectual intelligence has more dominant influence towards performance if it is compared with emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. It is also found that extrinsic motivation has contributed more dominantly than intrinsic motivation. Based on the findings of this research, it is recommended to the National Education Department and Head of Senior High School in Jayapura city that they should perform various actions, such as 1) the creation of a conducive working environment for expressing and growing potency to both kinds of intelligence and both teacher’s intellectuals, emotional and spiritual intelligences, 2) should be created working atmosphere than can motivate teachers to work both intrinsically and extrinsically to further improvement of teachers’ performance.Keywords: Intellectual intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), spiritual intelligence (SQ), extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation, and performance.

Abstract

The research objective are to explain the connection between employee performance and organization culture, leadership style, employee development and job satisfaction with organization culture in order to increase employee performance. The research perform with explanatory research, which done in modern retail company (hypermart) in South Sulawesi. The research sample about 250 respondents of total 2.312 member of employee population, taken by random sampling from each company type and job type of retail company proportionally. Data was analyzed by Structural Equation Model (SEM). The result indicated that organization culture can support a right leadership style election in order to increase job satisfaction and employee performance. A right leadership style in one hand can develop employee, increase job satisfaction and increase employee performance in the other hand. A good growing of employee finally can perform a better employee performance. On the contrary, organization culture which can not develop employee and leadership style which can not perform employee improvement also can not build a job satisfaction.Keywords: employee performance, job satisfaction, employee development, leadership style and organization culture.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to know and to analize the influence of educational, training and work discipline to the employee work productivity and to know the variable which is more dominant influence to the employee work productivity at Regional Secretariat of East Halmahera Region. The data analysis used is descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis. The result of analysis show that the education, training and the employee work discipline significantly influence to the employee work productivity at the Regional Secretariat of East Halmahera Region. The variable which is the most dominant influence to the employee work productivity is work discipline.Keywords: education, training, work discipline, and work productivity

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis pengaruh regulasi pemerintah, akses informasi, persaingan usaha, lokasi usaha, karakteristik bisnis terhadap kinerja usaha industri kecil melalui strategi bisnis.This study aims to assess and analyze the influence of business location and business characteristics of the small industrial business performance through business strategy. Penelitian eksplanatori ini dilakukan pada empat kategori usaha kecil (industri pengolahan) yaitu: makanan dan minuman, meubel kayu, tekstile dan konveksi, logam dan perak, sebanyak 200 responden (sampel) dilibatkan dalam survey dengan menggunakan daftar pertanyaan (kuesioner). Explanatory research was conducted on four categories of small businesses (manufacturing industry), namely: food and beverages, furniture, tekstile and convection, and silver metal, as many as 200 respondents (sample) were included in the survey using a questionnaire (questionnaire). Responden adalah seluruh pemilik dan pengelola usaha. Respondents are the owner and manager of the business. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan multi stage random sampling dengan alokasi secara proporsional. Sampling technique using a multi-stage random sampling with proportional allocation. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 6 kabupaten/kota (masing-masing tiga kabupaten/kota) di Sulawesi Utara. This research was conducted in 6 districts (each of the three districts/cities) in North Sulawesi. Untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja usaha industri kecil, digunakan metode analisis deskriptif dan model persamaan struktural (Structural Equation Modeling-SEM ) dengan menggunakan program AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structural). The influence of business location and business characteristics of the small industrial business performance through business strategy, use descriptive analysis methods and structural equation modeling (Structural Equation Modeling, SEM) by using the program AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structural). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa regulasi pemerintah, persaingan usaha dan lokasi usaha berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap strategi bisnis. Sedang kinerja usaha industri kecil dipengaruhi secara signifikan oleh regulasi pemerintah, persaingan usaha, karakteristik bisnis melalui strategi bisnis.The research concluded that: 1) the location of the business significantly influences business strategy, 2) the business location does not significantly influence business performance; 3) characteristics of the business does not significantly influence business strategy; 4) the performance of small scale industries is significantly influenced by the characteristics of business ; 5) business strategy significantly influence the performance of small scale industries.Keywords: Business Locations, Characteristics of Business, Business Strategy and Business Performance

Abstract

Recently, public attention to the existence of the top schools is increasing. It appears from the growing amount of interest people who are interested to send her son to go to school. With the advantages facilities, excellent schools managed to convince the parents to pay tuition fees of a relatively large when compared with ordinary schools. Amount of tuition fees to be paid by the parents would insist on better service activities. This study would assess the degree of satisfaction of the parents towards education services at school. This research is to complete the studies conducted by Standifird, et.al. (2008), who examines the satisfaction of students. By using analyser statistics, that is structural equation modeling (SEM), this studies reveal that the school is expected by the parents to be more responsive to the desires, wishes and complaints of the parents. Accordingly, the parents also expect the school to have attentive and caring with the parents of students. School leaders are also expected to continue to express the importance of good educational service to the staff, a representative of school buildings, school supplies are sufficient, teachers and school staff are professionals in the field of work.Keywords: excellent school, school services, satisfaction of the parents

Abstract

The capital was important to the banks as a buffer against possible losses. For this reason, in 1988 the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) issued a draft capital framework known as the 1988 Basel Accord (Basel I). The purpose of this investigation is to find out the impact of Basel I implementation on capital and credit risk of Indonesian banking over the 2000–2004 period. Based on previous studies, the impact of Basel I was performed by banking behaviour on target capital and target credit risk which is represented by two variable categories, they are bank-specific variable and macroeconomic variable. Bank-specific variables consist of the size of bank, a measure of its asset quality, a measure of its liquidity, and a measure of its profitability whether the macroeconomic condition is represented by the growth of GDP. This research uses a simultaneous equation to analyze adjustments in capital and credit risk. The result estimation of simultaneous equation, were provides evidence, that Basel I has no impact on banking capital and credit risk for well-capitalized banks. This implies that Basel I implementation can not influence banks to change their capital either to improve their credit risk portfolio.Keywords: Basel I, Capital, Credit Risk, and Portofolio.

Abstract

The maker of Sasirangan has an important role in the growth of economy in that we are interested in conducting further study to compare those producers who have entrepreneurship quality compared to those conservatives. The second purpose of the research is to identify the performance differences between those who are proactive in implementing their business strategy and those who are reactive.The research involves 35 respondents, by using census sampling techniques and data are analyzed by using cluster analysis and different test by using ANOVA.Base on the result, the producers who are proactive shows better performance than those conservatives who are only implementing reactive strategy.The implication of this research is that Sasirangan makers need to have entrepreneurship spirit and be more creative in designing the pattern and color as well as implementing appropriate strategy.Keywords: Business Strategy and Performance

Abstract

This research explores the personal factor particularly the individual competence and management factor including the reward and punishment system related to the efficiency as marked by the work satisfaction and financial performance, and the local financial independence. For such purpose, the research applies quantitative analysis employing SEM analysis. This quantitative research takes an explanatory method orienting on structural equation modeling as a model for analysis. The population are the office leaders and UPTD of North Sulawesi Province comprising top, middle, and lower manager who are responsible for financial management. The sample is determined by way of multistage sampling. Based upon that particular consideration, The sample are 273 people randomly collected. Data are gathered by distributing questionnaire using Likert Scale model while Amos program is used for data analysis. The result shows that 1) the individual competence directly and significantly influences the performance of the local government in North Sulawesi both on the work satisfaction and financial performance, 2) the compensation management (reward and punishment system) directly and significantly influences the work satisfaction and financial performance, 3) the work satisfaction directly and negatively influences upon the financial performance yet it is not significant, 4) In North Sulawesi Province, the individual competence and management compensation influence the financial performance as indicated by the work satisfaction.Keywords: Individual competence, Compensation management, the local government’s financial performance

Abstract

This study aims to identify internal factor and external factor companies that can become strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats for the company. The study was descriptive method. The collected data was processed and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The data are processed and analyzed for the formulation of strategy by using the method of data processing based on SWOT analysis. The results of the study indicate that the position of the company’s strategy is at the average position in utilizing its strengths to deal with its internal weaknesses, which the company’s main strength is the presence of insertions. East regional page, while its main weakness is the limited market for Just the business world. IE Matrix analysis results show current position is at V cell, where the strategy must run the company is to maintain and preserve (hold and maintain), consisting of: market penetration strategies and product development. SWOT matrix analysis results indicate that marketing strategies that can be selected by the company to be considered are: maintaining the quality of the East Regional Inserts advertisements, expand market segmentation, add advertising agency, effective promotional activities, maintain and defend existing market area, and maintain prices relatively cheaper than competitors’ prices, and expand the larger market share through a more vigorous marketing efforts.Keywords: Internal Factors, External Factors, SWOT Analysis.
