Abstract

This research is intended to prove and to analyze the influences of service quality, service orientation, and price strategy upon the satisfaction and customer loyalty of executive trains. Data of the research were collected by using questionnaire. Population in this research was the customer of executive trains. The data were analyzed by means of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique assisted by the computer program of Partial Least Square (PLS). The findings obtained from this research are as follow: (1) service quality has influence upon the customer satisfaction of executive trains; (2) service orientation has not influence upon the customer satisfaction of executive trains; (3) price strategy has influence upon the customer satisfaction of executive trains; (4) service quality has not influence upon the customer loyalty of executive trains; (5) service orientation has not influence upon the customer loyalty of executive trains; (6) price strategy has not influence upon the customer loyalty of executive trains; and also (7) customer satisfaction has influence upon the customer loyalty of executive trains.

Abstract

Results of research indicate that the factors of capital structure determiners have significant effect on capital structures such as profitability, size, growth opportunity, asset structure, and cost of financial distress. The exception may be tax shields effects without significant effect at all on capital structure. The latter becomes evident because the depreciation and amortization rates of Indonesia listed manufacturing companies do not seem significant to contribute company cash flow such that it stands out of company debt proportion. In Malaysia, the factors of capital structure determiners with significant effect on capital structures involve profitability, size, asset structure, cost of financial distress and tax shields effects. Size and growth opportunity do not have significant effect on the capital structure because Malaysia manufacturing companies consider little investment rate to finance equity financing to deal with financial risk regardless the size of company. It shows the similarity of these factors of capital structure determiner between manufacturing companies listing at Indonesia Stock Exchange and Malaysia Stock Exchange. The significantly similar determiner factors pertain to growth opportunity, asset structure and company value. Meanwhile, the difference also develops between the factors of capital structure determiner in the manufacturing companies listing at Indonesia Stock Exchange and Malaysia Stock Exchange. The significantly different determiner factors will be profitability, size, cost of financial distress, tax shields effects and capital structure.

Abstract

Budgetary Slack is the between estimated budget and its realization (Ueno & Sekaran 1990). In arranging revenue budget, there is predisposition to underestimate the revenue, while, contrastingly, in arranging expenditure budget, the predisposition is to overestimate the expenditure. Budget tolerance is ranging between 5% and 10 %. Both the executive and legislative have different interest on the APBD as the joint product of those institutions. Executive's achievement is evaluated based on APBD realization and its accountability to the legislative. This study was aimed to prove that ethics, bureaucratic culture (in this case, the paternalistic culture), social pressure and individual capacity have influence on budgetary slack among the budgeting executives in Area Coordinating Board II East Java. This study was conducted in Regional Government in Area Coordinating Board II East Java, including the Districts of Bojonegoro, Tuban, Lamongan, Mojokerto, Jombang, Kediri, and the cities of Kediri and Mojokerto. Samples were taken in purposive sampling with total respondents of 236 individuals of the echelon II and III. Variables involved were ethics, bureaucratic culture (in this case, the paternalistic culture), social pressure, individual capacity and budgetary slack. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. Result of this study proved that ethics have positive and significant effect on budgetary slack among the budgeting executives, bureaucratic culture have negative and significant effect on budgetary slack among the budgeting executives, social pressure have positive and significant influence on the budgetary slack among budgeting executives, and individual capacity had no influence on the budgetary slack among budgeting executives.

Abstract

This Study specifically analyses the structure of the leadership basic concept which developed by the Rector of the State Islamic University (UIN) of Malang from 1998 to 2008 in order to develop the higher Islamic university he led. This is basing on the developmental phenomena of UIN Malang which is institutionally changing, the disciplines paradigm of combining science and Islam, and the highly improving physical structure development. This research applies positivistic qualitative approach focusing on the leadership reality in UIN Malang which proceeds dynamically as being proposed by Giddens (1974). Conceptually, this research is a field research using the technique of on going analysis approach combined with content analysis approach proposed by Krippendorff through Blumer's symbolic interaction approach. This research focused on finding the answer of leadership basic concept, a leader's performance dimensions, and a leadership style that developed by the Rector of UIN Malang from 1998 to 2008. The research reveals that the structure of leadership basic concept developed by the Rector of UIN Malang from 1998 to 2008, which the researcher names as as Ulul Albab Leadership Concept, cocisist of: (1) the Basic Concept of Ulul Albab Leadership Model involving the principles of dzikir, thought and good deed; (2) the Performance Dimension of Ulul Albab Leadership Model possesses the character strength in the form of spiritual deepness, ethical conduct, science broadness and professional maturity; (3) the Ulul Albab Leadership Style adapts love approach, leadership by examples approach, appreciation approach and also brotherhood and humanity approach, all of which lead to the service values.

Abstract

For last few decades we have witnessing the rise of mobile telecommunication industries in Indonesia. High tension level of competition has forced service providers to formulate way both to gain profit and to make their customer stay loyal. Each provider competing through their quality and their price since the Indonesian market were sensitive to price. Many promotional advertising were made in order to attract new customers and make existing customers remain loyal. Theoretically satisfactions were proved affecting customer loyalty. This research was made to identify whether Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Switching Cost could affect the Customer Loyalty.

Abstract

Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis investasi di Indonesiadengan pendekatan model dinamik, yaitu suatu pendekatan yang diyakini dapat menguji apakah spesifikasi model empirik yang digunakan valid atau tidak. Model dinamik yang digunakan adalah Model Koreksi Kesalahan (Error Correction Model=ECM) ini telah menghisasi wajah ekonometrika untuk analisis data time series sejak tahun 1960-an. Hasil dari penlitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Estimasi tingkat Investasi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan model koreksi kesalahan (ECM), selama periode tahun 1992.1-2007.4 menunjukan hasil yang memuaskan. Hal ini dilihat dari ECT dari model tersebut secara statistik signifikan. Secara parsial, pendapatan nasional riil Indonesia berpengaruh nyata dan negatif terhadap Investasi di Indonesia. Kondisi ini tidak sesuai dengan teori dan tidak mendukung hipotesa yang diajukan dalam studi ini, pendapatan nasional riil Indonesia pada periode lalu tidak signifikan. Suku bunga internasional/libor berpengaruh nyata terhadap tingkat Investasi di Indonesia, tapi suku bunga internasional/libor pada periode lalu (t-1) menunjukan nilai statistik yang tidak signifikan dan tanda koefisien yang dihasilkan adalah negatif, Pertumbuhan angkatan kerja Indonesia pada penelitian ini menunjukan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat Investasi di Indonesia, Pertumbuhan angkatan kerja periode lalu  menunjukan pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan terhadap tingkat investasi di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh faktor Profesionalisme, Disiplin, dan Motivasi Kerja dan menganalisis faktor yang dominan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai PBB Kota Makassar. Bahan masukan bagi kantor PBB Kota Makassar dalam meningkatkan pelayanan kepada masyarakat dengan adanya peningkatan kinerja dan bahan masukan bagi Kantor PBB Makassar dalam menyusun Grand Skenario bagi pegawai dalam meningkatkan kinerja Pelayanan PBB. Adapun populasinya adalah jumlah pegawai kantor PBB dan sampelnya 52 orang, dengan menggunakan alat analisis regresi berganda.Hasil temuannya variabel profesionalisme, disiplin dan motivasi kerja berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel kinerja dan variabel profesionalisme yang paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja.

Abstract

Hubungan antara individu dan organisasi terdapat dua konsep yaitu organisasi yang dibentuk berterbentuk dari identifikasi dan organisasi yang terbentuk dari komitmen. Pada studi ini, menyelidiki perbedaan antara dua organisasi dilihat dari konseptual. Organisasi identifikasi dibangun dari aspek identitas secara obyektif oleh pemegang kuasaan. Dari hasil survei pada perusahaan dengan Kriteria Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) di Kota Palembang. Pada perusahaan identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa: organisasi dengan identifikasi mempunyai kekhasan yang berkaitan dengan: (pengendalian untuk komitmen yang lebih efektif dengan acuan diri sendiri (self-referential) sebagai aspek keanggotaan organisasi. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan adanya perbedaan antara identifikasi dan komitmen terdapat hubungan antara individu dan organisasi: Identifikasi mencerminkan kesatuan psikologis, komitmen mencerminkan suatu hubungan antara kesatuan psikologis terpisah.

Abstract

Contribution of employees' performances to the overall performance of organization is very important as they are one of the determinant of the organizational success and competitiveness. A new challenge faced by an organization encourage the creation of a new way to do something to improve the organization performance continuously. Therefore, organization culture may be used as a means to adapt any external organization changes as well as to integrate the internal organization. Moreover, communication and the leaders' ability to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute to the effectiveness and success of the organizations of which they are members, are very essential to the organization. The purpose of this research is to prove and analyze the influences of corporate culture, situational leadership and communication pattern on employees' disciplines and performances. The results proved that corporate culture, situational leadership and communication pattern have significant influences on employees' disciplines and performances.

Abstract

Research aims to find out: the factors that affect the production of rice and farm income of rice in the Regency Konawe, Population in this research is all rice farmers in the research location, determination of the sample in this research is using multistage random sampling method, which is 2 stage, (1) the determination of stages and the sub-district for sample (2), the determination of the sample farmers. The determination of sample districts purposively sampling methods, so that the 3 sub-districts selected as the location of research, namely: Wawotobi district, Lambuya district and Unaaha district. Population of rice farmers in three districts of the 1230 people. The determination of the sample farmers using simple random sampling method and was selected as 130 rice farmers in the research samples. Results of research indicate that: (a) factors of production area, fertilizer urea, SP36 fertilizer, manure and KCl significantly affect the production of rice. While the factors of production of seeds, pesticides and labor does not significantly affect the production of rice, and (b) the use of factors of production area, seed, fertilizer urea, fertilizer SP36, KCl fertilizer, pesticides and labor is relatively not economically efficient. Therefore need to have a new breakthrough for the efficient utilization of input on farmer rice research in the area.
