Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by elevated blood sugar levels.Controlling blood sugar is an effort that must be done to avoid komplikasi.Upaya DMpatients blood sugar control is done by providing nutritional counseling. In counseling isneeded props or media. The role of media is very strategic to clarify the message andincrease the effectiveness of nutritional counseling process. This study aims to determinethe response of patients with diabetes mellitus complications on media use leaflets andphotos of foodstuffs on nutritional counseling. This research is descriptive. Population andsample are patients who come in Poli Nutrition diagnosed as having diabetes mellituscomplications. Sampling using consecutife sampling as many as 23 people. Data on theresponses of research subjects was measured using a questionnaire and analyzed innarrative form.The results showed that 56.5% of the subjects responded very well foodstuffs photosused in the process of nutritional counseling and 60.9% of the subjects were verysatisfied with captions on photos of food ingredients to be applied in the setting offoodstuffs. 69.6% of the subjects stated that the photo is very interesting food ingredientsused in the process of nutritional counseling. The conclusion of this study is a photo offood ingredients can be used as one of the alternative media in the process of nutritionalcounseling.

Abstract

Obesity occurs in adolescence at high risk of becoming obese in adulthood, excessive fataccumulation that occurred early on a risk factor for degenerative diseases in adulthood. Obesityin adolescents is influenced by genetic and environmental factors, with environmental factorsstrongly influence obesity is food intake in adolescents. Type of food chosen by teenagers todayare more inclined to the western pangaruh. This affects the food choices toward unhealthy foodwhich are foods high in fat, high in energy and low in fiber. Obesity is also associated withatherosclerotic lipid profile, such as increased LDL and triglycerides and increase HDL decrease.This study aims to determine whether there is any difference in levels of LDL and HDL cholesterolin junior high school students were obese in Rural and Urban areas.This research was observational analytic with cross sectional study design. The number ofsamples is 40 samples were taken using a sample selection techniques to determine the samplesize based on certain considerations or using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzedusing (1) test for normality with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and (2) unpaired t test.Results: In this research, the subject of study as many as 40 samples of students were obeseconsisting of 20 samples in SMPN 1 Kawangkoan and 20 samples in SMPN 1 Manado. Results ofstatistical analysis of data showed that the average HDL cholesterol levels in obese student atSMPN 1 Kawangkoan (47.50 mg / dl) and (47.60 mg / dl) in SMPN 1 Manado and average LDLcholesterol levels in obese students SMPN 1 Kawangkoan (127.00 mg / dl) and at SMPN 1Manado (125.95) with a p-value of 0.05 can be concluded that there is no difference between LDLand HDL cholesterol levels in obese students in the area of Rural and Urban.

Abstract

The existence of a parallel transition triangle ie epidemiology, demography and technologyin Indonesia today has resulted in changes in the disease pattern from infectious diseasesto non-communicable diseases (NCDs) of which is a degenerative disease which is a majorfactor in the problem of morbidity and mortality. Lifestyle such as irregular exercise habits,lack of physical activity, smoking habits and alcohol and the wrong diet (high in calories, fatand sodium) can affect a person's blood pressure so that if not controlled will lead tohypertension. This study aims to determine the risk factors of hypertension in productiveage in PuskesmasLansotTomohon.This type of research is analytic survey with the approach of case control (retrospective).The Community Health Center LansotTomohon in March to April 2014. The sample in thisstudy were 94 people consisting of 47 people who have high blood pressure and 47 serveas a case of people who have normal blood pressure served as the control. The data wereanalyzed using statistical test Chi Square and Odds Ratio (OR) with a confidence level (CI)95%, with the aid of SPSS softwareThe results were obtained there is a very significant p = 0.006 (p <0.05) and the value ofOR = 3.3 between drinking alcohol with hypertension. There was a significant relationship p= 0.006 (p <0.05) and the value of OR = 4.3 between smoking and the incidence ofhypertension. There was a significant relationship p = 0.001 (p <0.05) and the value of OR= 9.2 between a diet high in sodium with hypertension. There was a significant relationshipp = <0.001 ((p <0.05) and the value of OR = 6.3 between nutritional status and theincidence of hypertension in the productive age in the working area health centersLansotTomohon.

Abstract

Hypertension is the most deadly diseases in the world . In Indonesia, the prevalence ofhypertension 25.8 % and 27.1 % in North Sulawesi . This result is lower than themeasurement of blood pressure in Riskesdas survey in 2007 and for the city of Tomohonprevalence of hypertension of 41.6 % . The main causes of hypertension due to less activephysical activity and obesity . The proportion of physical activity are less active North Sulawesihighest obesity 31.7 % and 24.4 % .Research purposes. This study aims to determine the relationship of physical activity,nutritional status and hypertension in employees in the District of North TomohonTypes of research. This is a descriptive observational study with cross sectional studyconducted in July 2014 with a sample of 93 people who were taken with non-probabilitysampling technique with purposive sampling. Nutritional status was determined by BMI(normal 18.5 to 25, 25.1 to 27 obese , overweight > 27 ), physical activity using theInternational Physical Activity ( IPAQ ) , high blood pressure, systolic and diastolic, when≥140/90mmHg. Analysis of the data by using Spearman Rho 's.Research result. The results showed as much as 51.8 % of the subjects engage in moderateactivity ( > 600 METs - min / week ) , 48.4 % had nutritional status of obese and 49 % had anaverage blood pressure of 140 / 90-140 / 105 mmHg Statistical test showed an association ofphysical activity with hypertension, where p = 0.026 ( p < 0.05 ), and their relationship with thenutritional status of hypertension, namely p = 0.008 ( p < 0.05 ) .Conclusion. There is a relationship of physical activity with hypertension in employees in theDistrict of North Tomohon ( p = 0.026 ). Terdapat relationship with hypertension in thenutritional status of employees in the District of North Tomohon ( p = 0.008 ) .

Abstract

Toddler group is showing rapid growth of the body, so it requires nutrients that every high Kgweight. Children this age group it is most often suffer from a lack of nutrition CTF. Based onthe data reports Pusomaen PHC in November 2014, the number of infants were detectedbelow the red line (BGM) of 20 children (8.62%).The study was observational and descriptive in order to determine the diet, nutrient intake andnutritional status of children under five (BGM) in the coastal village Tatengesan and Makalu.The research was conducted in May in the health Pusomaen the number of samples 15children. Diet using FFQ and nutrient intake using a food recall 2x24 hours.The results showed consumption of rice to eat (86.7%), fish and eggs (66.7%), out (66.7%),green vegetables (13.3%), bananas (46.7%). For rice mixed with salt and palm oil and sugaras a drink, often consumed. Frequency of eating 3 times a day with the type or sususnan mealconsists of a staple food such as rice, fish, vegetables and fruit. On average nutrient intake ofchildren below the red line (BGM) is: 633.7 kcal of energy, protein 21.05 grams, 18 grams offat and carbohydrate grams 112.55. These results indicate a lack of nutrient intake in childrenunder five.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of growth and maturation process is a fundamental requirement for human life.Growth and physical development are closely related to the nutritional status of children. Consumption offood is one of the main factors deciding the nutritional status of a person. The lack of balance betweenthe intake of nutrients or adequacy will lead to nutritional problems better and more popular among schoolchildren streets habits is very difficult to remove . Penchant school children about foods that are sweet ,sour and savory often exploited by traders or sellers to attract school children .This study aims to determine on Contributions Food Snacks Of Total Energy and Nutritional Status inChildrenElementary School Buku in the District of Belang.This type of research is descriptive analytic cross sectional. Research conducted at the District Belangduring the month of May 2014, with a total sample of 55 people. Types of data collected include theidentity of respondents, nutritional status, street food intake.The results showed that of the 55 samples, there were 47.3% male sex and female sex as much as52.7%. Contributions energy consumption of street food in Buku elementary school- girls that was 9 yearsold as 4 (7.2%) 8-15%, age 10-11 years as many as 26 people (45.5%) 29-42% , contribution energysnack foods are consumed boys in Buku elementary school 9-year-old as many as 5 people (9.1%) 17-21% and 10-11 year age 20 as many as (38.2%) 33 - 47%.Nutritional status of student elementaryschool, 30 (54.4%) had normal nutritional status and obesity 25 people (45.5%).Based on Pearsoncorrelation test, found no association between street food energy contribution to energy intake andnutritional status of Buku elementary school students District of Belang with p = -.166 and -.061 (orgreater than 0.05)

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is one health problem that is dominant and needs tobe addressed, because the prevalence rate is high and also due to long-term damagecaused has certain consequences. Hypertension often has no signs or symptoms, or oftencalled the "silent killer" or a disease that kills secretly or covertly. Society is not aware thatthey have hypertension until a strain on the heart, brain or kidneys. Patients withhypertension in the world close to 1 billion. That is, 1 in 4 adults suffer from high bloodpressure. More than half, or about 600 million people, scattered in developing countries,including Indonesia State. The aim of research to determine the Diet (type, frekuensu,number) and Sodium Intake in the Elderly Hypertension in Puskesmas Tareran.This research is descriptive research with survey method. The number of respondents 44people aged> 65 years, suffering from hypertension and willing to become respondents.The results of the 44 respondents, type of food consumed is food that can lead to highblood pressure (hypertension) such as: meat (pork, beef, duck, chicken), offal, brains,squid, shrimp, anchovies, clams, crabs , salted eggs, shellfish, crab, salted egg, salt, MSG,alcohol, soft drinks (Fanta). Frequency of eating respondents to the type of foodmengkibatkan hypertension is 2-3 times / week and 2-3kali / bulanJumlah consumption ofrespondents to the type of food that can be mengkibatkan hypertension is 71-75 grams ameal. Average sodium intake of respondents is 742 mg / day.

Abstract

Arthritis Gout is a metabolic disease characterized by deposition of urate in the joints ofarthritis that was painful. One of the factors that can affect is the food consumed and therisk increases in women after menopause. The aim of research to determine therelationship of diet with high levels of uric acid in postmenopausal women who suffer fromgout arthritis in Tikala Baru health center.Sort of observational research using crosssectional design. Primary data was collected through interviews and observation usingquestionnaires, secondary data taken from health centers. Of the 39 respondents oftenconsume types of foods containing purine source'm ie chicken, fish, spinach, tempe, tofu,spinach and beans. Frequency of purine food source for the highest weekly thatconsumes 3x per week in which there were 14 (35.9%). Protein intake more there were34 people (87.2%) and purine intake were 5 people (12.8%). There is a significantrelationship between the frequency of consuming food containing sources of purinesbeing per week with uric acid levels (ρ <0:01) in postmenopausal women at healthcenters Tikala Baru Manado and there was no correlation between the characteristics ofthe study subjects (intake of protein, and purine) with uric acid levels

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a collection of symptoms in a person due to impaired body incontrolling blood sugar levels. Number of patients with diabetes mellitus from 8.4 millionin 2004 to about 21.3 million in 2030. This was due to the intake of food that has been inexcess of the needs, especially the intake of carbohydrates and fats. The study aims todetermine the intake of carbohydrates and fats consumed by people with diabetesmellitus (diabetes). This type of research is descriptive. This study was conducted in Mays/d June 2015. Sampling using consecutive sampling with a sample of 30 people.Carbohydrate and fat intake data was obtained using a 24 hour recall form. Examinationof blood sugar levels is done by using the blood sugar measuring device Autochek. Thedata is processed carbohydrate and fat intake using nutry survey and analyzed innarrative form. The results showed that carbohydrate intake of 30 samples averaged 164grams per day with less intake category as much as 93%, more intake category as muchas 7%. While fat intake of 30 samples averaged 42.9 grams per day with less intakecategory and more each as much as 50%. On average the eating habits of people withdiabetes do not consume enough carbohydrates but high in fat
