Abstract

Toddlers ages 0-24 months at a time of rapid growth and development, so it is often termedas the golden period once the critical period. Golden period can be realized if at this timeinfants and children receive appropriate nutrition for optimal growth and development. SagoBaruk (arenga microcarpa) has long been used by the inhabitants of the region of the DistrictSangihe, Talaud and Sitaro, as a main meal and specifically during more specific baby 0-11months while the child is first given complementary foods breast milk (MP-ASI ) TUTO menumade from raw materials sago types arenga microcarpa or known by local names that SEHOtree or palm tree or palm wine-producing trees.This type of research is the study of experimental use quasy Experiment design of this studywill be carried out in some areas health centers in Sangihe Islands Regency in April s / dDecember 2015. The sample size in this study is determined by the formula Estimating thedifference between two population proportion each each group of 50 infantsThe study provides an overview among other subjects in this study is a child under twoyears. The mean age of the subjects in this study was 9.5 months lows age of 3 months and22-month highs. The mean birth weight (BBL) subjects in this study was 3 kg of low birthweight 2 kg and 3.8 kg, while the highest average length of 47.72 cm birth weight is thelowest 45 cm and 51 cm high. The mean value of z score nutritional status (BB / U) childrenbefore intervention was -0.39 SD (normal category) z score lowest score was -2.91(malnutrition) and the highest was 1.92 (normal) while the average value of z score childrenafter the intervention is -0.27 -2.81 SD SD is the lowest and the highest was 1.91, while theSD indicator of nutritional status of TB / U before and after there was no change in categoryfor measurement before and after the intervention of grace time is only 7 days when seen ofthe frequency distribution it is seen that of 50 children 5 people (10%) of them have thestatus of malnutrition but jka seen from the indicators of TB / U the 50 children 3 people (6%)were classified as very short and 3orang (6%) relatively short , The results of the analysis oftwo different groups of pairs using Paired sample T Test shows that there are differences inboth weight and nutritional status of the subjects in this study (p <0.01). The results of theanalysis of post hock (Wilcoxon) shows that of the 50 subjects 47 people among them anincrease in body weight between 0.3-0.8 kg and the value of z score indicates nutritionalstatus nutritional status differences before and after intervention of 0.2 SD rising close to themedian ,Conclusion penelitiaan This is a menu tuto modified with a protein from the tuna can be usedas an alternative to breast milk because it can meet the nutritional needs of children,according to figures the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) and can increase the child'sweight and can further improve the nutritional status child.

Abstract

The main risk factors that lead to the occurrence of non-communicable diseases arehypertension, high blood glucose, obesity and abnormal blood fats. The prevalence ofmetabolic syndrome adult population ≥15 years in the province of North Sulawesi of 28%,exceeding the national prevalence rate of 18.8%, the lowest in Bolaang Mongondow16.6% and the highest at 36.2% Tomohon.The research objective is to make religious leaders as promoters of nutrition programmedin delivering nutrition promotion related dietary risk factors which increased the risk ofmetabolic syndrome through education and counseling efforts. Benefits of the research isto increase the level of acceptance, community participation and increasing the role ofreligious leaders in the effort to control the risk factors for metabolic syndrome throughpromotion of nutrition and health implications for disease.This type of research is the study design quasy Experiment Preeksperiment using preand post test one group design. A sample size of 40 people, the sampling technique isbased on systematic random sampling.The conclusion of this study is special maid church can be used as a promoter of nutritionin delivering nutrition promotion related metabolic syndrome risk factor control.

Abstract

School age children often skip breakfast for various reasons eg to rush off to school. Children whodo not eat breakfast, less task that requires concentration in class, often have values lower examresults, have limited memory and often absent. Breakfast effect on concentration and learningachievement of school children where there is a real difference of concentration ability usingsymbol-digit test between ordinary child breakfast with unusual breakfast. Results of other studiesshowed no significant relationship between energy intake breakfast with a concentration in school.Diversification of food consumption will provide encouragement and incentives on the supply offood products are more diverse and safe for consumption, including food products based on localresources.Organoleptic testing is a test that is based on sensing process. Sensing can also mean mentalreactions (sensation) if the senses receive stimuli (stimulus). Reaction or impression that is causeddue to the stimulation may be an attitude to toward or away from, liking or disliking objects willcause stimulation.Formulation of the problem in this research is how the acceptance andpreference level of primary school students towards some kind of breakfast menu using local foodin North Sulawesi in order to fulfill nutritional needs.The general objective of this study is to make local food in North Sulawesi as a basic ingredient inmaking a breakfast menu with a variety favored by children in order to fulfill the nutritional needs ofelementary school.The benefits of this research provide understanding to the community inparticular who have children of primary school age that the fulfillment of nutrients on elementaryschool children is not always synonymous with foodstuffs are expensive, must be imported, instant,branded, but the quality and nutritional content is not very relevant to the needs child nutrition.This type of research is quasy Experiment was conducted in a laboratory study Culinary NutritionPoltekkes Kemenkes Manado and Elementary School 06, which is located in Manado City.Collecting data in this study is the result of tests performed on the organoleptic properties, whichconsist of preference for appearance, flavor, texture, color and aroma. Hedonic data processingusing Kruskal Wallis test showed no significant difference from the third menu tested.Conclusion statistically no significant difference between the three breakfast menu with aconventional menu, but based on the average value of the hedonic score differences.

Abstract

Balanced nutrition is the food consumed by everyday individuals who are diverse and meetthe five groups of nutrients in sufficient quantities, not excessive and not kekurangan.tujuanthis study was to determine the knowledge of 10 messages balanced nutrition on nutritionalstatus and hypertension in the minibus driver Manado-Gorontalo majors in the rest areaBusisingo village.The method used in the study was a descriptive study using observational design. Thepopulation in this study were all driver who crossed the road trans Sulawesi. The sample is adriver who still do activities as a driver who are 32 respondents. 10 data collection stickerknowledge of balanced nutrition messages using a questionnaire. The nutritional status bytaking anthropometric data, and blood pressure was measured by a sphygmomanometer.The results obtained by most survey respondents between the ages of 29-34 years. Afteranalyzing the data in a descriptive way the majority of respondents have knowledge aboutbalanced nutrition 10 messages classified as good by 26 respondents (81.2%) and 6respondents (18.7%) knowledge of 10 messages balanced nutrition moderate. Mostrespondents had a normal nutritional status by category with a percentage (56.2%). Bloodpressure checks as many as 32 samples, it was found that 14 respondents (43.7%) hadnormal blood pressure categories, and 18 respondents (56.2%) had mild hypertension bloodpressure categories.The conclusion of this study we can conclude that knowledge of balanced nutrition sticker 10messages on the driver minibus Manado-Gorontalo generally quite good, has a normalnutritional status and had a blood pressure with mild hypertension classification.

Abstract

Uric acid is the end result of purine metabolism is one of the components of nucleic acidscontained in the nucleus of cells. needs purines recommended that 50 g / day - 100 g /day. It said purine intake over consumption of food sources of purines more than 100 g /day. Knowledge plays an important role in a person's behavior towards the disease. Thepurpose of this study is to determine the relationship of purine intake and level ofknowledge with uric acid levels in Puskesmas Rurukan Tomohon.This type of research is descriptive analytic research with this type of cross sectionalstudy in Puskesmas Rurukan Tomohon in February 2016. The sampling method ispurposive sampling which amounted to 37 samples and analysis using chi square test.According to the research community purine intake by Rurukan Tomohon were 19 people(51.4%) consume food sources of purines over 100 grams / day, 11 people (29.7%)consume enough food sources of purines that is 50-100 grams / day and 7 (18.9%)consume food sources of purines less than 50 grams / day. Based on the level ofknowledge that 9 (24.4%) of respondents had good knowledge, 14 people (37.8%) ofrespondents have sufficient knowledge and 14 people (37.8%) of respondents have lessknowledge.In conclusion there is a relationship between the intake of purine to uric acid kada andthere is a correlation between the level of knowledge with uric acid levels.

Abstract

Nutritional counseling is one of the preventive measures in changing attitudes and inincreasing knowledge about gout arthtritis, handling, changing attitudes and consumption offoods high in purines can affect the acid levels urat.Tujuan this study to determine the effectof nutrition counseling to high dietary intake of purines and acid levels urate in gout patientsat the health center arthtritis Rurukan TomohonThis study uses research experiment (quasy Experiment), research experimental is aresearch activity that is conducting the experiment, one group pretest posttest, with a sampleof 34 people were taken from the average visits per month, the data retrieval is done with theinterview to find out the general data of the patient, for the consumption of foods high inpurines using semi FFQ form, and uric acid levels obtained through examinations using uricacid Blood Strip, univariate analysis was conducted descriptively, while bivariate analysisusing the Wilcoxon test with a value of α = 0.05.The results showed that the change in the consumption of foods high in purines of 34respondents this is evidenced by the average value of the mean consumption of purine or71.49 g / day and after counseling, namely 38.71 g / day with a value of p = 0.05 (P = 0.000)it is in line with respondents' levels of uric acid before counseling with an average of 10.4 mg/ dl and after counseling of 8.36 mg / dl with a value of p = 0.05 (P = 0.000) These resultsshow that the influence nutritional counseling to the intake of foods high in purines and uricacid levels in gout patients at the health center arthtritis Rurukan Tomohon

Abstract

Malnutrition can affect the function and healing every organ, such as changes in body weight,heart function and kidney decreases, system disorders digestive tract, bacterial or parasiticinfections and wounds difficult to heal as a result of the immune system is decreased,decreased capacity of re-feeding syndrome, and depression in patients , so important aconcern for hospitals weeks to make improvements nutritional status by fulfilling the energyneeds in an effort to support the patient's healing process. Research in Jakarta obtained dataon approximately 20-60% of patients have the status of malnutrition and the other 69%decreased nutritional status during inpatient hospital This study aimed to know therelationship between dietary intake, nutritional status and length of stay in Manado AdventistHospital.This research is descriptive analytic observational with cross sectional study conducted from13 April - May 13, 2016 in Manado Adventist Hospital with 43 samples. Criteria for adultpatients, has been undergoing treatment at least 2 days and get the hospital food.There are 74.4% of inpatients in Manado Adventist Hospital has a level of intake of ≤ 80%.Malnutrition status as much as 32.6% and the length of stay as much as 76.7% to thecategory of> 6 days. There is a relationship of food intake and nutritional status, andnutritional status and length of stay.

Abstract

Pregnant women desperately need iron to prevent anemia and maintain optimal fetal growth. InNorth Sulawesi, in the year (2012) the highest maternal mortality due to bleeding, bleeding forpregnant women are less obedient to the consumption of iron tablets given health personnel ineach health center. This study aims to determine the relationship of compliance pregnantwomen consume iron tablet with hemoglobin levels.This research is an analytic observational research using cross sectional approach. The totalsample, 38 people. The data collection was obtained by examination of hemoglobin levels, usingquestionnaires compliance, and use the Semi FFQ. The data used is ordinal data, Data analysisusing Chi Square test.The results of this study indicate that there are still many pregnant women who do not complyconsume iron tablet was 23 people (60.5%). while abiding totaled 15 people (39.5%). There arestill many pregnant women who had higher levels of hemoglobin (Hb) <11 g / dL andcategorized as anemia was 23 people (60.5%). And levels (Hb)> 11 g / dL total 15 persons(39.5%). Based on the analysis that there is significant correlation relationship anataracompliance pregnant women in consuming Fe tablet with hemoglobin levels with p = 0.00 <α =0.05.Conclusion The results of this study showed a significant relationship between adherencepregnant women consume iron tablets (fe) with hemoglobin levels in pregnant women inPuskesmas Ranomut Manado.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases with characteristichyperglycemia that occurs due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulinaction or both. British Diabetic Association recommends that patients withdiabetes apply a similar diet to the vegetarian diet as vegetarians tend toconsume enriched carbohydrates and fibers.This research is a descriptive study observational analytic using cross sectionaldesign. This study describes the differences in levels of blood glucose and lipidprofile in patients with diabetes mellitus type II which were given a diet lacto ovovegetarian and the non-vegetarians. This study was conducted at the R.W.Monginsidi Manado Hospital forthe nonlacto ovo vegetarian, and at ManadoAdventist Hospital for thelacto ovo vegetarians diet.From the test resultsstatistically using unpaired T test for the Mean value or average fasting bloodglucose levels showed an average of each group, the non-vegetarian groupworth 179 while the lacto ovo value 138 with a value of 0,072 siq where> 0.05,which means there were no differences between the groups of non-vegetarianand lacto ovo vegetarian, kolesterol total (p=0,015), LDL (p=0,067), HDL(p=0,017), Trigliserida (p=0,026)The conclusion of this research shows no difference in blood glucose levelsforthe patients who were given diet lacto ovo vegetarian and the nonvegetarians.However, there are differences of Lipid Profile levels to the patientsgiven diet lacto ovo vegetarian and the non-vegetarian.
