Abstract

This study delves into the brand communication strategy and the implementation of sustainability values in the small and medium-sized fashion enterprise (SME), Lori Lurik, highlighting its success in amalgamating brand identity, sustainability, and communication strategies to foster personal and emotional connections with its consumers. Grounded in the Self-congruity Theory and the Message Planning Model, Lori Lurik consistently opts for handwoven lurik fabric as its primary material, reflecting local and cultural values. Following the principles of self-congruity, Lori Lurik successfully builds brand awareness through compelling narratives on Instagram and engaging consumers in interactive quizzes. Design innovations, such as the distinctive asymmetrical features, provide differentiation in the competitive fashion industry. The utilization of leftover production materials and a zero-waste packaging strategy underscores the commitment to sustainability, while challenges in leveraging influencers serve as crucial considerations for enhancing brand awareness. This research contributes practical insights for similar SMEs, emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainability values and communication strategies to strengthen brand images in dynamic markets.

Abstract

The government creates a retirement insurance program for workers to prepare for their lives when they retire. However, the regulation draft No. 20 of 2022 in one of the articles stipulates that payment of the program can only be disbursed after a worker reaches the age of 56. This has caused many reactions of rejection from various parties, especially workers. In the real world, this rejection also occurs in the social media network Twitter. Therefore, this study aims to determine the network structure and the actors' roles in the communication network with the old age security editor on social media Twitter within February 12 – 18, 2022. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods and is analyzed using Social Media Network Analysis. The theory used was the theory of communication networks. Data was collected and analyzed using NodeXL and Netlytic software. The old-age security communication network has become a trending topic because of the many tweets users provide for different purposes. This shows that a hashtag in social media conveys the community's voice against government policies and can also be used for other interests.

Abstract

Social media life is where communication and individuals and communities are characterized through social media networks. Concerns about the adverse effects of social media have directed public attention to media literacy as a potential solution. The SMILE Model is an effort to equip social media literacy that can influence social media use (in terms of exposure and self-expression), ultimately positively impacting individual/adolescent well-being. The results showed that most respondents preferred video content and a combination of video and text. Influencers' influence also influenced the use of social media, but only 25% of respondents felt that influencers had a significant impact on their use. Good social media literacy involves cognitive understanding and emotional regulation to improve emotional well-being. Balanced and healthy social media use can reduce loneliness and increase social support.

Abstract

Yogyakarta is a province with very good gender development when viewed from the Gender Empowerment Index and Gender Development Index. However, gender mainstreaming and performance content produced from the official Instagram @dp3ap2diy is still so minimal that it needs to be examined and analyzed. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data found was analyzed through the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results showed that there was 61 content with the theme of gender mainstreaming during the period August 2022-July 2023. The majority of the content, namely 32 uploads were in the form of documentation. The lowest performance was in September with 26 likes, while December was the highest with 1,579 likes. In August, September, January, March, and June no comments were obtained. The message entitled gender mainstreaming shows inconsistencies and there is still content that tends to be masculine or supports excessive burdens on women. Further analysis using the NPower Northwest approach shows that financial aspects can have a broad impact, but there are still shortcomings in conducting research and setting goals. The use of resources is less than optimal and causes organizations to use more reactive communication practices.

Abstract

The Israeli-Palestinian war erupted again after Hamas attacked Israel in 2023. This war drew responses from various parties. Among the many Asian countries that provide support to Palestine, India is one of those that takes different actions: they prefer to support Israel. The author aims to dissect the factors that make India support Israel. This is of course, related to decision-making carried out by a country, as explained by Richard Snyder. Decision-making is influenced by internal and external factors that show cause-and-effect relationships. Using descriptive-qualitative research methods, the author found several factors that made India prefer to support Israel. This form of support occurs because of the diplomatic relations the two countries have established to increase defense cooperation. India is doing this because the country is still overshadowed by the long-standing conflict that occurred due to mutual claims on the Kashmir border region with Pakistan. Besides that, India and Israel also collaborate in tourism and humanitarian matters, which are assessed using human environment indicators. All these factors show the rationality used by India in providing support to Israel.
