Abstract

Objective:To determinethe influence of dysmenorrhea counseling towards SMA Muhammadyah 1 Surakartas female students knowledge and handling behaviour toward dysmenorrhea Background:Dysmenorrhea was the most frequent menstrual problem, but women still lack of consideration towards this symptom so that the handling of this symptom was still not enough.Women need to know that the handling of this symptom is depend on knowledge about this symptom causation. Methods:Samples, SMA Muhammadyah 1 Surakartas female students school year of 2011/2012. The number of sample: 53 female students. Sampling technique: purposive random sampling. Before the counseling began, a pretest was held to meassured students knowledge about dysmenorrhea and their handling behaviour to reduce pain they had felt. After pretest, the counseling about dysmenorrhea; the differences between primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea; and the management they should do towards certain condition was given. After that, there were question session, quiz session, and tutorial discussion session. Then, they received a post test to meassure wether if there were any level of knowledge and handling behaviour differences between after and before the counseling. Then the data was analyzed using paired T test. Results: The result using paired T test showed that the number of significance are 0.00 <0,05 so that it was significance. Level of knowledge before the counseling is lower than after the counseling. The handling behaviours towards dysmenorrhea before and after counseling are also different.The resultshowed that,after the counseling, the number of handling behaviours preferences which were warming lower abdominal part, seeking for medical help, and consuming vegetables and fruits were increased. On the other side, the number of handling behaviours preferences which were consuming herbal medicine and AINSD (Anti Inflammation Non Steroid Drugs) were decreased. Conclusion:Counseling about dysmenorrhea could influence students level of knowledge and handling behavior towards dysmenorrhea Key words:Counseling, level of knowledge, handling behaviour, dysmenorrhea

Abstract

Background:Cardio Pulmonary Resusitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure, performed in an effort to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Untill now, CPR is one of the most important procedure in first aid of heart attack, also in respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest due to trauma. CPR need to be performed in a fast and effective way, therefore knowledge of CPR and confidence in perform CPR is needed. This research aims to analyze the relationship beetwen medical student?s of Sebelas Maret University knowledge in CPR with student?s confidence in performing a rescue. Methods:The research was an analytical survey with cross sectional approach implemented in May-June 2013 in Faculty of Medicine Sebelas Maret University. The number of samples in this study was 129 students with the inclusion and exclusion criteria and the samples sampling by simple random sampling. Dependent variable was student?s confidence in performing a rescue and independent variable was student?s knowledge in CPR. This research was conducted with questionnaires by samples and then the data were analyzed by Pearson Correlation. Results:This research showed significant relationship beetwen student knowledge in CPR and students confidence in performing a rescue (p = 0.000).This study showed that 93 students (72.09%) didn?t know the exact location of chest compression, 21 students (16.27%) didn?t know the right recovery position for patient, 129 students (100%) wanted to gain more training and knowledge in CPR, 42 respondents (32.55%) acknowledged that they were still not able to perform CPR effectively, and 40 students (31%) stated that they were not able to perform breathing support in an accurate and effective way. Conclusions:The relationship beetwen medical student?s of Sebelas Maret University knowledge in cardio pulmonary resusitation with student?s confidence in performing a rescue were significant. Abstract

Background: Vasectomy program as known as MOP (Metode Operatif Pria) is a long-term contraception method that addressed for husband. From the total active participants of birth control program in Indonesia,vasectomy acceptors is only 0.7%. This low number of vasectomy acceptors can be influenced by level of wifes knowledge that form into wifes role and support toward the husband participation. The aim of this research is to examine the correlation between level of wifes knowledge about vasectomy and the husband participation in vasectomy program in Jaten District. Methods: It was an analytic observasional research with cross-sectional design in Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency to examine the correlation between level of wifes knowledge about vasectomy and the husband participation in vasectomy program. The data were taken from 387 wifes, by questionnaire that has been tested for its validity and reliability. The data analysis in this research was tested with Lambda Correlation Test in 19th version of SPSS for windows. Results: There were 271 respondents (70.03%) who had good level of knowledge, 87 respondents (22,48%) who had average level of knowledge, and 29 respondents (7.49%) who had bad level of knowledge. From the total respondents, there were only 17 respondents (4,39%) who chose vasectomy as their birth control method. The value of Lambda Correlation Test was 0.000 that showed very weak correlation between level of wifes knowledge about vasectomy and the husband participation in vasectomy program. Conclusion: There is very weak correlation between level of wifes knowledge about vasectomy and the husband participation in vasectomy program that is also known as MOP.Keywords: level of knowledge, participation in vasectomy program.

Abstract

Background: One components of the quality of health care which is given by hospitals is the availability of data or information from the medical record. According to Permenkes 269 of 2008 concerning medical records, recording of patient data is a compulsion, and a legal obligation. Methods: This research is a non-experimental descriptive study. The design of the study uses a cross-sectional. This research was conducted in the inpatient medical record installation of RSUD DR Moewardi Surakarta. The researchs method is a combined method approach (mixed methods) that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. A qualitative approach is as the primary while the quantitative approach plays as a support. Samples were taken in purposive sampling, is the five informants as medical records executant. Data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and analysis of documents. Qualitative data analysis is done through a tangle analysis and interactive analysis, while quantitative data were collected and analyzed by using a check list to determine the output quality of medical records. Results: The associated factors of the medical records quality of inpatients in RSUD DR Moewardi are the input, processes and the output of medical records. Input include energy, funds, materials, machines, methods, socialization, time and information. Process include the implementation process when the medical records in medical services and medical records at the time of file handling, namely the processing, storage, lending, and the return of the medical record file. Output include stuffing completeness, accuracy, timely refund, and compliance aspects of the legal requirements. The result of the total quality of medical records was 93.05%. The qualities of the medical records are categorized as good. Conclusion: The associated factors of the medical records quality of inpatients in RSUD DR Moewardi are the input factors, process factors and the output factors. Input factors are workforce factors, fund factors, material factors, engineering factors, methods factors, socialization factors, the time factor, information factors. Process factors include the implementation process when the medical records in medical services and medical records at the time of file handling, namely the processing, storage, lending, and the return of the medical record file. Output factors include stuffing completeness, accuracy, timely refund, and compliance aspects of the legal requirements. Keywords: medical records, medical records quality.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent marked with the unbalanced physical and mental growth which is followed by behaviorally trying something often lead into sex before marriage, unwanted pregnancy, unsave abortion and sexually transmitted disease. While in Surakarta itself, about 30,09% high school male adolescents have ever done a sexual intercourse and 5,33% among them are female adolescents. This research aims to find the association between pornography exposure and adolescent sexual behavior  as the first step to decrease its number. Methods: Located in SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta, this research use cross sectional method with 103 responders taken by simple random sampling and analyzed bivariatly with Chi Square. The independent variable is pornography exposure in mass media and the dependent variable is adolescent sexual behavior. Results: There were 57 students (55,34%) exposed to pornography for the last month, meanwhile the other 46 students (44,66) weren?t exposed to pornography for the last month. There were 21 students (20,39%) who had bad sexual behavior, meanwhile the rest 82 students (79,61%) had good  sexual behavior. There were 16 students (15,53%) who had been exposed and had bad sexual behavior. But, there were 5 students (4,85%) who weren?t exposed yet had bad sexual behavior. Conclusions: Using Chi Square, it can be concluded that there?s a meaningful association between pornography exposure and sexual behavior. Keywords: adolescent, media, pornography, sexual behavior

Abstract

Backgrounds: The aim of the present study was to determine the difference of onset menopause between combined oral pills acceptors and non-hormonal acceptors in Jebres District, Surakarta. Combined oral pills contraception causes increased body fat so it can increase the estrogen production by the conversion of androstenedione in peripheral adipose, while non-hormonal contraception (Intra Uterine Device/IUD) does not have such a mechanism, but it may lead to perforation and Pelvic Inflamatory Disease (PID) which can damage women's reproductive organs. Methods: A cross sectional, observational analytic was conducted, in which the sampling technique was two stage cluster random sampling. The sample was 60 postmenopausal women aged 48-59 years old, consisting of 30 women as combined oral pills acceptors and 30 women as non-hormonal acceptors (IUD). This study was conducted in June-July 2014 in Jebres Districts, Surakarta. Data was analyzed by independent t-test by comparing the mean value of onset menopause of the two groups. Results: The results of the independent t-test showed a significant differences between the two groups with p = 0.026, t = 2.290, and 95% CI. The mean value of onset menopause of the combined oral pills acceptors is higher than non-hormonal acceptors (IUD). Conclusions: There are differences of onset menopause were statistically significant between the combined oral pills acceptors and non-hormonal acceptors in Jebres District, Surakarta. Combined oral pills acceptors had a mean onset of menopause is higher than non-hormonal acceptors. Keywords: onset of menopause, contraception, combined oral pills, non hormonal, IUD

Abstract

Background : Menarche occurs when a young woman entered the age of transition. Age of menarche is determined by several factors such as nutritional status. Nutrition affects sexual maturation in adolescents who received early menarche. In general, those who experienced early sexual maturity will have higher body mass index (BMI) and those with delayed sexual maturity has lower Body Mass Index at the same age. This study aimed to determine correlation between nutritional status and age of menarche in adolescent at SMP 24 Surakarta. Methods : This study used a cross sectional design. Respondent of this study was 100 female students of SMP 24 Surakarta selected with purposive random sampling. Data were collected by measuring BMI (Body Mass Index) and questionnaires, then analyzed by Chi Square test. Results : The number of respondents who have good nutrition aged 12-13 years is 44 students (44%) and aged >13 years is 19 students (19%). Meanwhile, the number of respondents who have poor nutrition aged 12-13 years is 16 students (16%) and aged >13 years is 21 students (21%). There is a significant correlation between nutritional status and age of menarche in adolescent at SMP 24 Surakarta (p = 0.009). Conclusions : There is a significant correlation between nutritional status and age of menarche. Female students which have a good nutritional status will experience menarche 3 times faster than female students which have a poor nutritional status. Abstract

Aldila Desy Kusumawaty, G0009010, 2012, The Relation of Work with Prevalence of Suspected Sudden Death in Hospital Dr. Moewardi in January 2006?December 2011. Mini Thesis. Medical Faculty of Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. Background: The work environment impact on person?s health behavior. The existence of an excessive work load has a negative effect on worker health. Stress can cause cardiac arrhythmias and sudden death in susceptible people, perhaps through the center that is driven by the autonomic nervous system response. The purpose of this study was to determine the incidence of sudden death associated with the work load. Methods: This is a type of case-control study. Sample of this study was the victim of sudden death and people who live near or around the house of that sudden death?s victims with total sample 88 people. The data was analyzed with Chi Square Test and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Found a statistically significant association between the incidence of sudden death with the work. People with heavy work will have sudden death risk about 3,46 times compared to those with light work (p= 0.046; OR= 3.46). Conclusions: Based on this study, people with heavy work will have a risk for sudden death 3,46 times greater than people with light work. Keywords: work, work load, sudden death.

Abstract

Background:Menopausal syndrome is experienced by many women around the world. Most women who experience menopause will feel the menopause as a problem or disorder. Nevertheless, menopause is a normal transition period, but if it is not properly handled will cause psychological, physical, and social disorders which can affect the quality of life for women. One of the general psychological disorder is anxiety. Many factors affect the anxiety of menopausal women, one of them is knowledge. The higher education level of the person will be more receptive to information so that the more knowledge. Therefore, the anxiety experienced will be lighter. This study aims to determine the relationship between the anxiety and educationlevel ofmenopausal women. Methods: This researchwas analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The population was all menopausal women in Posyandu Dahlia RW 19Nusukan, Posyandu RW 14 Nusukan, and PosyanduDahlia RW 13 Pucangsawit. The sample selection used purposive random sampling technique. The sample number was 30 women. The research instrumentswere questionnairesLie-Multyphasic Minnesota Personality Inventory (L-MMPI) and Tailor Manifest Anxiety Scale (TMAS). The data were  analyzed using theSpearman correlation test. Results: Correlation between the level of education and anxiety was-0.431 (p = 0.017). Conclusions: The conclusion from this research is the majority of the subject experience moderate level of anxiety. There is negative correlation between the level of education and anxiety.The higher of the education level of the subjects, the lower of the level of anxiety, and the lower of education level of the subjects, the higher of the level of anxiety. Abstract

Backgrounds: Dysmenorrhea is young women problem. Dysmenorrhea is lower abdominal pain that is felt before or during menstruation. One factor that may lead to primary dysmenorrhea is nutritional status. This study aim is to determine the relationship between nutritional status and degree of dysmenorrhea in female students of SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta. Methods: This research is an observational analytic with cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta. The population was class X female students of SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta who have experienced menstruation period at least 1 year, dysmenorrhea, not smoking, not consuming alcohol, willing to be respondent, L-MMPI scores with the answer "No" < 10, and do not have any gynecological abnormality or secondary dysmenorrhea. Sampling was done by purposive random sampling after selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. The dependent variable in this study was the degree of dysmenorrhea, while the independent variable is nutritional status. Research subjects filled (1) informed consent, (2) L-MMPI questionnaire to determine the honesty of respondents in filling out the questionnaire, (3) personal information form and the degree of dysmenorrhea questionnaire, (4) measured height and weight. Ninety two sample was obtained and analyzed using chi-square test followed by Somer?s d correlation test. Results: Based on the data analysis with significance ? = 0.05, we obtained value of p = 0.004 (p <0.05),  whereas correlation coefficient was 0.096. Conclusions: Statistically, there is significant but very weak relationship between nutritional status and dysmenorrhea degree in female students of SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta.
