Abstract

Background: One of the things that directly affect the nutritional status is an infection. Acute Respiratory Infections often occur in children aged under 5 years old and often repeated. This research aims to determine the relationship of Reccurrent Respiratory Infection (RRI) frequency and the nutritional status of children under five years old. Methods : This research was analytical observational with case control design. This research was conducted at several posyandu of Jebres Village, Jebres Subdistrict, Surakarta, on November 2015. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. Sixty seven samples was classified into frequently RRI (30 children) designed as case group and infrequently RRI (37 children) as control group. The nutritional status was determined by W/A and H/A index interpreted into z-score. Data of RRI frequency obtained from questionnaires filled out by the mother. The data obtained were processed using SPSS for Windows 18.0 and analyzed by independent t test to analyze the difference of nutrional status at significance level of ? = 0.05. Results : Children who rarely affected by RRI has average z-score -0.61 SD for W/A and -0.86 SD for H/A. While children who often exposed RRI has average z-score -1.12 SD for W/A and -1.49 SD for H/A. The result of this research showed that there was significant difference of nutrional status between case and control group. RRI frequency with W/A index (p = 0,017) and RRI frequency with H/A index (p = 0,008). Conclusion : the significant difference of nutritional status between groups indicating  a relationship between Reccurrent Respiratory Infection (RRI) frequency and the nutritional status of children at Jebres Village Surakarta. Abstract

Background: Upon approaching a menstruation or during the on-going menstruation phase, primary dysmenorrhea disorders are frequently found, particularly the pain in the lower abdomen, spreading to waist and thigh area which emerges without being accompanied by any gynecological anomalies. There are some factors assumed to play role in the occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea disorders. One of them is the psychological stress. The objective of this research is to investigate whether or not there is a correlation between the psychological stress of the students in Grade 3 upon approaching the National Test and the number of primary dysmenorrhea episodes at State Senior Secondary School 2 of Magelang. Method: This research used the observational analytical method with the cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted in March 2013. The samples of the research consisted of 95 students in Grade 3 of State Senior Secondary School 2 of Magelang and were taken by using the purposive sampling technique based on the inclusive criteria determined. The data of the research were gathered through in-depth interview and questionnaire. They were then analyzed statistically by using the Chi Square test and Lambda test. Result:The Chi Square test shows that the value of X2count is 9.342. This value is greater than that of X2table at the significance level of 5% with the independence level of 1, namely: 3.481 (p < 0.05). The result of the Lambda test is 0.118 with the p value = 0.436. Conclusion: Based on the result of the research, a conclusion is drawn that there is a very weak correlation between the psychological stress of the students in Grade 3 uponapproaching the National Test and the number of primary dysmenorrhea episodes at State Senior Secondary School 2 of Magelang. Erectile dysfunction is a consistent or recurrent inability in males to attain and/or maintain a penile erection sufficient for sexual activity. Decreased testosterone levels can lead to physical and sexual performance in males slowly degenerate. This research aims to know the association between andropause and erectile dysfunction in males at Jebres, Surakarta. Methods: This research used a non-experimental analytical study using cross sectional approach that was done at Jebres, Surakarta on June 2014. The subjects of the research were males at Jebres, Surakarta chosen with a purposive random sampling technique. The size of the samples was 60 males according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria that had been set previously. Independent variable in this research was andropause while the dependent variable was erectile dysfunction. Respondents collected data from questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed with Chi-Square test, which was followed by using Contingency coefficient test to determine how closely the relationship of these two variables. Results: There was a significant association in the proportion of andropause among males with and without erectile dysfunction in Jebres population, Surakarta (p = 0.000; Cc = 0.444). Conclusions: There is an association between andropause and erectile dysfunction in males at Jebres, Surakarta. Keywords: Andropause, Erectile Dysfunction, Males, Surakarta

Abstract

Background: Yoga is one of sport which affect VO2 maximum. The research objective was to determine the relationship between Forced Vital Capacity and hemoglobin to VO2 maximum on people with Yoga practice. This research also concern on comparing the contribution of Forced Vital Capacity and Hemoglobin value in affecting VO2 maximum. Methods: Thisresearch was a cross-sectional observational analytic. It had been done at Ganep Yoga and Ester Yoga on June to August, 2014. Population are all woman who practice Yoga in Ganep and Ester Yoga. The data were collected by using random sampling method. All responden had to fill informed concern and question related to their health condition. Forced vital capacity was measured with spirometer. VO2 maximum was measured with step-up test. Hemoglobin was measured with EasyTouch Hemoglobin Meter. The data were analized by Pearson Correlation test and Regresion test with Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 20.0. Results: There were relation between Forced Vital Capacity and VO2 maximum with r= 0,836 and contribution = 69,88%. There were relation between hemoglobin and VO2maximum with r= 0,883 and contribution = 77,96%. Significance value of VO2 maximum based on Forced Vital Capacity is 0,184 and VO2 maximum based on hemoglobin is 0,155. R value of Regression test in this study is 0,926, this means there is strong relationship between Forced Vital Capacity and hemoglobin to VO2 maximum. Both variable were examined using Pearson correlation test with p result < 0,05. Conclusions: There is a strong positive and significant statistic correlation between Forced Vital Capacity and hemoglobin to VO2 maximum on People who do Yoga practice.
