Abstract

This research aims to investigate the transformation of local knowledge of Lubuk Larangan toward tourism. The research method uses an ethnographic qualitative approach. This method is implemented because this research has a connection to customary societies. To gather data was used as an in-depth interview. Samples are selected through the purposive technique. The result is probed meticulously through the triangulation technique and triangulation sources. The result shows that customary community conferences locally impact the conservation of nature and fish in Lubuk Larangan. Deliberations determine the time of harvesting fish in the forbidden pit area and determine the area used as a prohibited area. There were 10 ninik mamak in attendance and one ninik mamak as the leader of the ten ninik mamak. Another finding is that democratic principles such as decisions on the basis of togetherness for the common interest are applied to the forbidden area. The last finding is that there is a transformation of social and cultural values in the Lubuk Larangan area. Customary rules are very strict, but interfering with the younger generation to overhaul traditional rules makes the traditional leaders adapt to the wishes of the younger generation to serve as fishing tourism areas. Several considerations were found at the time the Lubuk Larangan area had not been changed. The rules were detrimental because when the event opened the Lubuk Prohibition area, it resulted in the exhaustion of fish, and profits were only obtained 30 million in 3 years. When it has been converted into fishing tourism, it impacts increasing profits to reach 30 million in a month. Plus, the fish will not become extinct because the fish caught when fishing will be released again. People even get the opportunity to offer tent rental services, sell food and drinks, become tour guides, and offer to lodge for tourists who come.

Abstract

Virtual Reality provides many benefits in learning because it can create a variety of simulation situations that can not be done due to obstruction of danger or high costs. This research aims to research and develop learning media in history using virtual reality technology. This research and development use ADDIE's research steps method (analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate). The Delphi method carried out product validation using four media experts and four historians. The product trial phase uses 400 students in two study programs to see the effectiveness of the products developed. Research & development have produced a prototype product website platform with expert feasibility assessment (product validation) results. The results of the media expert assessment are 3.88 (feasible), and the expert assessment material of 4.09 (possible). The media tested on 400 students obtained satisfactory results, with the average overall score reaching 4.23 or in the category of "Very Worthy."

Abstract

Social studies subjects are often considered boring, saturated, and monotonous. This affects students' learning outcomes, so we need a method that can increase students' interest in learning social studies subjects. This study aims to compare student learning outcomes before the application of the snowball-throwing learning model and after the implementation of the snowball-throwing learning model, as well as its effect on student learning outcomes. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with no equivalent groups pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were Class VIII students at SMPN 1 Semarang. The random sampling technique (Probability sampling) has been applied in this research. The sample of this study consisted of classes, namely the Experimental and Control classes, which were selected from existing classes. The experimental class was class VIII I, which applied the snowball-throwing learning model, while the control class was class VIII J which applied the conventional learning model. The results of this study are that students' learning outcomes in social studies subjects before implementing the snowball-throwing model tended to be lower. In contrast, students' learning outcomes became higher after the snowball-throwing model's implementation. The conclusion is that the snowball-throwing learning model has an effect and can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students in social studies subjects.
