Abstract

Abstract: The Role of Principal Academic Supervision in Improving Teacher Performance at the Elementary School Level. The most fundamental problem in the education unit is how supervision efforts are made by the school principal to improve teacher performance, especially in elementary schools (SD). This becomes a task that cannot be abandoned by a school principal, because it is a form of responsibility of a leader in terms of improving teacher performance. By increasing teacher performance, school performance will also be better. The research method in this article uses the library research method (Library Research). This research method relates to library data collection methods. Data collection techniques in this study use documentation and data analysis techniques. or certain values that are believed by researchers related to the problem of supervising school heads through documents related to the problems that researchers examine. The results of this research are that academic supervision carried out by the principal can improve teacher performance at the school, because teachers receive supervision, the principal also provides feedback when there are teachers carrying out academic supervision, so that they continue to motivate teachers to improve their professionalism in teaching. Implementation of academic supervision by school principals is based on the need to overcome problems with learning tools, lesson plans, learning materials, class management, assessment of learning outcomes, teacher discipline, and implementation of character education. Several methods can be used and implemented by the principal as a supervisor in carrying out academic supervision activities to improve teacher performance, namely: guidance for teachers, education and training, and increasing teacher motivation. Keywords: Supervision, Principal, Teacher PerformanceDOI: 10.23960/jmmp .v8.i3.2020

Abstract

Abstract: Principal Decision Maker. Decision making is important in determining policy or a problem. there are times when the principal is well received by the teacher, there are times when he is not. The principal's decision is well received, marked by support for the decision and the responsibility of teachers and staff in carrying out the decisions made. Acceptance of a decision is very dependent on the readiness and ability of the teacher and staff as the implementer of the decision. Of course, before making a decision, we must know the style of decision and the stages before making a decision. The method used to write this article is literature review, which first collects research papers that are relevant to decision making in the form of books, journals obtained from Google Scholar, and other sources. The principal's decision-making points to ideas that can solve problems in ways that make it more acceptable to all parties. First, the problem must be well known and formulated, while the solution must be based on selecting the best alternative among existing alternatives. Decision making in the implementation process must pay attention to the effectiveness of the decision making, so that there is compatibility between the problems faced and the solutions to the problems taken. Keywords: Decision-making, Leadership, PrincipalsDOI: 10.23960/jmmp .v11.i1.2023.01

Abstract: Principal Visionary Leadership This study aims to explore the effect of the principal's visionary leadership and teacher discipline on teacher performance in schools. The results of the study show that the principal's visionary leadership and teacher discipline have a significant influence on teacher performance, and both affect teacher performance together. Principals have an important role in leading and optimizing resources in schools to achieve common goals, while teacher discipline helps create a healthy and professional work environment. Abstract

This Classroom Action Research aimed to improve the participation and academic achievement of students in class XI.F1 at SMAN 1 Gunung Alip in mathematics, particularly on matrix material. The problem arose because conventional teacher-centered teaching methods made students less actively involved in the learning process and resulted in low learning outcomes. Therefore, this study implemented the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study involved 31 students of class XI.F1 in the 2023/2024 academic year as the research subjects. The research instruments included student activity observation sheets, learning achievement tests, and field notes. Quantitative data from the tests were analyzed to determine improvements in learning outcomes, while qualitative data from observations were analyzed to describe improvements in student participation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model successfully improved student engagement and academic achievement. This was indicated by significant improvements across the two cycles conducted. In Cycle I, the level of student participation reached 62.9% with a class mastery percentage of 70.97%. After improving the learning strategy in Cycle II, student activity increased significantly to 70.97%, while the percentage of students achieving mastery rose to 87.10%. These improvements demonstrate that the Jigsaw model can create a more interactive learning environment, encourage collaboration, and foster students’ sense of personal responsibility. In other words, the Jigsaw model proved effective in overcoming passive learning problems and improving both the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes, in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

The professional development of educators and educational staff is an essential component in improving the quality of education. One of the main aspects of professional development is a systematic, planned, and sustainable coaching procedure. This article aims to describe the concept of coaching procedures, the challenges in implementing each stage of coaching, and improvement strategies in the professional development of educators and educational staff. This study employed a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of books, scientific journals, and previous studies related to educational human resource development. The findings indicate that challenges in coaching procedures occur in the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, follow-up, as well as cultural and organizational aspects. Coaching programs are often not based on needs analysis, lack sustainability, and are not integrated with career development and performance appraisal systems. In addition, limited resources, weak professional reflection culture, and insufficient organizational support also affect the effectiveness of coaching programs. Therefore, it is necessary to improve coaching procedures through needs-based planning, continuous monitoring, and strengthening a learning organizational culture in order to enhance educator professionalism and educational quality sustainably.
