Abstract

Literacy culture in pesantren is a process of habituation to reading and writing. This activity is a requirement for students as a provision for learning at the pesantren. It takes a strong and visionary transformation paradigm so that it can lead the institution to be born as an institution that has a strong advantage in a particular discipline or field. This kind of indicator was found by the caregivers of the PP Al-Bidayah in Jember in offering a specification of literacy advantages in reading the kitab kuning with various supporting literature. One of the interesting things that the researcher heard and found was the statement he always echoed to the students, namely "read, read, read. Memorize, memorize, memorize." That's a statement that contains the commitment of the caregivers of the PP Al-Bidayah in motivating the students to study hard. The nature of this research is descriptive-qualitative which seeks to provide descriptions of the background, characteristics and distinctive characters in the field. Data in the form of a description of the activities or behavior of the subject and other documents obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there are several aspects that are emphasized in the transformational leadership model of the Al-Bidayah pesantren caregivers, namely: policy, role model/uswah, learning innovation (implementation of the Al-Bidayah method). Literacy culture can be seen in various daily activities of santri in pesantren, including reading the basic books of the basic theory of nahwu until memorizing; tatbiq activities (analysis of Arabic text by word from the nahwiyyah and shorfiyyah aspects), reading selected nadhoms in the basic theory book for every maktubah prayer, reading nahwiyyah and shorfiyyah dialogue books in every afternoon activity.

Abstract

This research is based on the belief of the Banyumasan people in the tradition in their marriage customs. In the marriage ceremony of this community is known the tradition of the first grandson or daughter-in-law. It is intended as a refusal for both brides in the future family life and as a counsel for both. The ball is played by Joko Sengkolo and Joko Kelheng, both of whom play the ball in a dialogue of humor, with the instrument of the ball as a medium of transformation of the symbolic values contained in it. From the sociological side of its meaning, this tradition has fulfilled the nine functions of the family: religious, biological, caring, education, economics, protection, socialization, recreation, and family status. If both brides can follow this long tradition, the family functions will go well and the family will be peaceful, happy, and prosperous. The focus of this research consists of two issues: 1) the process of implementation of the traditions of begal in the Bathroom marriage and its symbols; and 2) the analysis of the values of the family begal contained in the bathroom marital tradition.

Abstract

This article analyzes the differences and integration of human concepts in Western psychology and Islamic psychology. This study uses a library research method by collecting data, analyzing data, and concluding the analysis of the text. This approach was chosen because it allows researchers to explore and compare various theories, views, and existing research without being limited by time and geographical space. This study produces an analysis that Western Psychology, which developed from classical Greek philosophical thought to modern theories, emphasizes an empirical and scientific approach in understanding human behavior. In contrast, Islamic psychology offers a holistic perspective that combines spiritual, moral, and psychological aspects. This study aims to understand the fundamental differences in the two approaches and explore the possibility of integration to develop more inclusive and effective psychological interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of loss accounting carried out by fishermen in Gorontalo, based on local wisdom values, as a response to the dominance of Western accounting concepts that tend to overlook indigenous community-based approaches. The main objective of this research is to uncover the strategies used by fishermen to face and manage losses within their cultural and religious context. An Islamic ethnomethodological approach was employed in data analysis, which was conducted through five analytical stages: charity, knowledge, faith, revelation information, and courtesy. The results reveal two main strategies for minimizing loss: a fuel deposit system and side activities that generate additional income. These strategies are grounded in the values of sabari (patience) and sukuru (gratitude), derived from the Gorontaloan Islamic philosophy lumadu diila o’onto, bo wolu-woluwo, which means seeking both visible and invisible blessings. The fishermen’s loss accounting practices demonstrate a strong interconnection between spirituality, local culture, and economic management, offering a contextual alternative to conventional accounting systems. These findings provide important contributions for academics, policymakers, and practitioners in designing accounting frameworks that respect cultural and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the ecological values contained in the Qur’an and Hadith, as presented in Chapter III of the Al-Qur’an Hadith textbook for Grade XII of the Madrasah Aliyah, and their implications for education and social awareness. Using a qualitative method based on content analysis and literature review, this study examines how theological concepts such as khalifah (stewardship), amanah (trust), ihsan (excellence in conduct), and the prohibition of fasād (destruction) are pedagogically framed in the textbook as the foundation of Islamic ecological ethics. The findings indicate that Chapter III incorporates a material structure that emphasizes the human–God–nature relationship (hablum minal ‘alam), yet there remains a gap between the depth of Qur’anic–Prophetic messages and their pedagogical implementation. Nevertheless, integrating ecological values into Qur’an–Hadith learning has been shown to enhance students’ environmental awareness by strengthening religious motivation, fostering environmentally friendly habits, and encouraging participation in school-based ecological activities. At the social level, Islamic ecological education facilitates the emergence of faith-based social movements, such as tree-planting initiatives, mosque-based waste banks, and plastic-reduction campaigns. This study affirms that the environmental values within Islamic teachings possess a strong transformative potential for developing ecological character and sustainable social ethics. Therefore, strengthening the integration of Islamic ecotheology within the madrasah curriculum constitutes a strategic step in cultivating environmental awareness among the younger generation.

Abstract

The “Marriage is Scary” phenomenon currently emerging among Generation Z presents two major issues: fear of making the decision to marry and doubts regarding long-term commitment. The primary causes of this concern include negative personal experiences, social pressure, and uncertainty over economic conditions, which discourage young individuals from entering the stage of marriage. Additionally, low emotional intelligence exacerbates their ability to manage conflicts and stress associated with marital life. The impact of this phenomenon is reflected in the increasing delay of marriage, the weakening of family values, and the risk of psychological issues due to the inability to cope with relationship dynamics. From the perspective of Islamic law, marriage is a sacred contract that is not merely a social agreement but also an obligation that brings blessings and inner peace when carried out with full awareness and responsibility. Islam encourages young people to prepare themselves thoroughly, including enhancing their emotional intelligence, in order to build a harmonious marriage. This research employs a qualitative method, with primary data collected from 20 Generation Z informants who experienced the “marriage is scary” phenomenon and one religious figure. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of 14 informants (70%) perceive marriage as a frightening prospect, mainly due to past trauma, economic uncertainty, career prioritization, and difficulty in trusting a partner. However, a smaller group still views marriage as a long-term commitment, although it is not considered a primary life priority at the present time.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical practice through a transformative fiqh and Islamic ethics approach. Based on the rapid development of health technology, the role of AI in diagnosis, treatment, and medical decision-making continues to expand, raising issues related to patient privacy, professional responsibility, and the risk of algorithmic discrimination. Therefore, an ethical framework rooted in the fundamental values of Islamic law (maqashid syari’ah) within the context of transformative fiqh becomes necessary. This study uses a qualitative method with a normative-philosophical approach, supported by selected literature sources tested for accuracy and validity, and analyzed through concept identification, issue mapping, comparison with maqashid, and legal synthesis. The study finds that the use of AI is ethically acceptable when placed within the framework of mashlahah, accompanied by professional oversight, and regulated through justice-based policies. Transformative fiqh also highlights the need to balance technological benefits with potential risks, including protecting patient rights, ensuring fairness in service, and preserving spiritual values in treatment. Ultimately, AI in medical practice is viewed not only as a technological tool but also as a means to actualize the core values of Islamic law in contemporary contexts. This study contributes by offering a relevant Islamic ethical framework for the development of health technology in the digital era through a transformative fiqh approach.

Abstract

This study aims to construct an integrative model of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) grounded in Islamic spirituality within the context of sustainable Islamic education institutions. Employing a qualitative library research approach, the study systematically reviewed eight reputable international journal articles and relevant classical Islamic literature. The data were analyzed using content analysis and integration mapping to explore the relationship between green human resource management dimensions (green leadership, recruitment, training, knowledge sharing, and creativity) and Islamic spiritual values such as amanah (trust), ihsan (excellence), ta'awun (collaboration), ' ilm (knowledge), and tajdid (renewal). The findings reveal the development of an Islamic green human resource management Ecosystem, a conceptual model oriented toward Maslahah al-'Ammah (universal benefit) through three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and spiritual. This model extends Social Exchange Theory and the Resource-Based View by incorporating a dimension of faith-driven sustainability. The study concludes that human resource management in Islamic education should transcend administrative efficiency by embedding spiritual ethics and the moral responsibility of humans as khalifah (stewards of the earth).
