Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have a strategic role in Indonesia's economic growth. However, there are still many MSMEs that have difficulty advancing to class, as evidenced by the number of micro-businesses that dominate. Apart from that, many micro-businesses still have difficulty adopting digital and accessing capital. This research analyses Financial Management and digital marketing with Islamic business ethics as a moderating variable influencing micro-businesses performance in DKI Jakarta. This research was carried out using the Resource Based View (RBV) model approach. Data were analyzed using the SEM-PLS method with SmartPLS version 3 software. The research results show that the level of Financial Management, digital marketing, Islamic business ethics, and business performance is in the high category. Other findings show that the level of Financial Management does not affect business performance. Islamic business ethics can moderate the influence of Financial Management and digital marketing on the performance of micro-businesses in DKI Jakarta. This research implies that digital marketing and Islamic business ethics play an important role in improving the performance of micro-businesses. At the same time, Financial Management requires Islamic business ethics as moderation to have a significant impact on the performance of micro-businesses in DKI Jakarta.

Abstract

In the context of Zakat Management Organisation (OPZ) in Indonesia, the management of zakat funds in accordance with the values of sharia management accounting information system becomes crucial, to maintain public trust. Management accounting information system in an organisation is related to the availability of management accounting information as a basis for decision making. There are several studies on management accounting, but the influence of contingency variables on the values of Sharia Management Accounting Information System (SIAMSy) has not been studied in more depth. This study aims to fill this gap by empirically examining the influence of environmental uncertainty, human resource competence, internal control, and Islamic organisational culture on SIAMSy values, as well as the moderating role of information technology in the relationship. This study uses primary data collected through questionnaires and interviews with OPZ in Jambi City, with data analysis conducted using a quantitative approach. The results showed that environmental uncertainty, HR competence, internal control, and Islamic organisational culture had a significant effect on increasing SIAMSy values. In addition, information technology proved unable to moderate the influence of contingency variables on SIAMSy. This research makes an important contribution to the development of a more effective and efficient management accounting information system, and offers recommendations for OPZ to increase SIAMSy values to improve the National Zakat Index (IZN).

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of Strava jokis within the context of digital lifestyle ethics and Islamic economics. Strava jokis refer to the practice where someone pays another person to manipulate their sports activity data on the Strava app in order to gain social recognition on digital media. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach to analyze the Strava jokis phenomenon through relevant literature on digital ethics and Islamic economics. The findings indicate that this phenomenon reflects the strong impact of social media on individual behavior, where people often pursue image and social validation while neglecting values such as honesty and authenticity. Social pressure drives manipulative behavior that damages personal integrity and mental health due to the practice of manipulation. The Strava jokis phenomenon contradicts the principles of Maqashid Shariah, and from an Islamic economics perspective, the service of Strava jokis conflicts with fundamental principles such as honesty, justice, and transparency, as it involves deception that harms society and disrupts the social order. Therefore, a stronger ethical approach to the use of technology and social media is needed, emphasizing moral values and Islamic principles to create a more responsible digital lifestyle.

Abstract

The Islamic capital market industry has grown rapidly over the past five years; however, in 2022, Islamic capital market assets comprised only 6.42% of Indonesia's total financial assets, which are predominantly controlled by conventional finance at 89.31%. The performance of Islamic mutual funds has steadily declined over the past three years due to limited Islamic assets in the capital market, low levels of financial literacy and inclusion, and the Muslim community's preference for traditional investments such as property, gold, and bank savings. Since 2022, Islamic mutual funds have been further impacted by market volatility, high interest rates, and the revocation of tax incentives. This study uses panel data regression analysis to examine the influence of macroeconomic variables, the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (DJIMI), and mutual fund attributes on the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Indonesia during 2019-2023. The results show that the money supply, DJIMI, and expense ratio negatively affect performance, while Indonesian crude oil prices and fund age positively impact performance, and fund size shows no significant effect. Overall, these six variables account for 96.27% of the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Indonesia. This research contributes to signaling theory, market efficiency, and provides practical insights for investors, managers, and policymakers in advancing Islamic mutual fund instruments.
